Truvelisback:
From my perception, i think the men are likely to be more understanding and tolerant and may overlook some minor issues or errors unlike like women.
Women also overlook errors and minor issues. It's all about personality differences.

Most of the problems we see are from wives living with their mothers or mother-in-laws. That's not an idea marriage in the first place. Whoever is into that arrangement should stop disturbing our peace with mother in law issues. When two parents from different generations decide to live together permanently, there would be problems.

Try and live with your parent for 1 year if you're 30+ and come back to share your experience.
FamilyRe: I Have Never Seen A Father-in-law Quarrelling Or Fighting With The Husband. by Acidosis(m): 8:32am On Dec 24, 2021
Even the so called fight between mothers and daughter-in-laws is all in the head. I have never seen any in real life. What we have is the media blowing up rubbish and to-be wives entertaining pre-conceived prejudices and negative expectations about a marriage they haven't even entered.

The world is full of naturally difficult people, complex humans, easygoing, gentle, stubborn, etc. We have introverts, talkatives, extroverts, Gen Y, Gen Z, Gen X, etc. Mother-in-laws are not aliens, they belong these various categorizations. So an extroverted mother-in-law or a talkative may find it difficult coping with an introverted wife.

This is the reality everywhere, from church to the workplace. Let's stop blowing up rubbish.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Enters COVID-19 Fourth Wave by Acidosis(m): 9:08am On Dec 21, 2021
You people should leave the western disease alone and go and address issues of black soot in port harcourt and severe air pollution in Lagos. The air is extremely contaminated, thanks to accumulated smoke from landfills and rusty yellow buses in Lagos. These are peculiar issues that can render a generation useless.

Du.mb leaders! There are at least 20 million infested rats in Lagos spreading killer diseases. The streets are filled with contaminated water and foods. Anybody can cook spaghetti with "soakaway water" and sell in the street of Lagos as we've got zero health/environmental monitoring agencies. These are peculiar issues that affect Nigerians!

I just need something to pay my bills in the short term while I further improve my programming skills along with job hunting. Normally I don't fancy those platforms, I don't even have a crypto wallet, just want to use it as a stopgap in the mean time.
Okay. I think I understand your needs. Just make sure you're vigilant online. You don't have to perfect your programming skills to make money from a skill. I've made money from simple skills like Excel and PowerPoint. These two aren't even part of my main sources of income but I've learned never to underestimate any skill/service. You can start by offering Excel services.

Advertise your service and don't underestimate Nairaland. On this same platform, I have gotten and delivered data entry services and transcription jobs not only to individuals but also companies. The last data entry job I did was for a top photography company in Lagos in 2017/2018, involving two large "Ghana-must-go" bags of client data. This kind of task will get you engaged 24/7 for 3 months (maybe 1 month if you have people you work with).

I've since stopped advertising those services now because of time and other freelance engagements. Consider looking at some simple or less saturated services online while you perfect your programming skills.
FamilyRe: How Did You Achieve Financial Freedom This Year?? by Acidosis(m): 9:37pm On Dec 20, 2021
I think you have been taking the wrong steps. To achieve financial freedom, you have to let go of these so called WhatsApp investment platforms and the likes. Bitcoin is not a skill. You should consider learning a real skill or getting a job. That's how to make a sustainable earning. Trying to know how to make money via crypto without a real job or trade is like building on nothing. Forget your compound people and all they do with fast money (these funds are proceeds of ponzi and pyramid schemes).

A situation wherby fraudsters are defrauding Nigerians even without sending out your OTP to any one is now getting annoying.

A law should be pass, that states that, if a person lose his or her money to fraudster, Nigerian banks should be the one to pay back the money.
Do you receive OTP when you use a POS, ATM? Do you receive OTP when you do cardless transactions?

You're funny.
BusinessRe: Lady Rolls On The Floor Of A Bank After Scammers Withdrew All Her Money Via POS by Acidosis(m):
The world is full of wickedness and wicked people. My advice for people who aren't technology savvy or extremely smart (internet-wise) is to avoid all these online transaction. It takes extra level of smartness to avoid getting scammed. 90% of the time, the bank has no hand in this. It is more often than not, a case of negligence.

Understand the kind of apps you're downloading!

Always adjust your phone's privacy settings! Don't give away your life on android phone.

Do not give authorization to useless apps that codedly use your phone contacts (after saving your BVN and passwords on your contact list o shocked). When you give a useless loan app access to your contact (the same contact you have your bank password and BVN with account numbers), your 99% closer to getting scammed!

Again, check your phone's privacy settings! You will be amazed to see the number of apps spying on your contact list, your microphone, gallery, etc.

mrvitalis:
That's roughly $600k a month , that's roughly $7.2 million dollars a year. The project cost is around $850 million

so without maintenance , without paying anyone salary it would take 118 years to break even ......if we add salary n maintenance then you are looking at 300 years plus

850 million dollars to add 7.2 million dollars to our GDP is foolishness

With $850 million

We can give the top 10 ceramics importers $20 million each to build plants n stop importing ceramics .....this would save us $2 billion dollars yearly , plus boast GDP with over $3bn using only $200 million

Another $200million can be used to set up 10 cassava to ethanol factory giving that as loan to the biggest cassava farming unions ....we can be the biggest ethanol producer in the world ...with a potential to export over $2 billion ethanol and produce for local use also ...plus over 20,000 jobs

Same $200 million can be used to set up 10 to 20 cassava to glucose/ethanol plants ....we taking of a $70 billion dollars market we have absolutely great comparative advantage ...capture 15% of that that's over $10 billion a year industry

Rail lines are expensive luxury that never make profit we can't afford now
Sound analysis but don't forget the cost-saving benefits to commuters. That investment has no real benefit to the federal government but it provides some great short term benefits to the public.
FamilyRe: Please I Need Your Advise! by Acidosis(m):
@OP,

I don't think it's a wise decision for the wife to leave her job. The decision to "move to their own house", "become a landlord", and some of these things Nigerians love to declare have kept them in the mess. While having one's own house can provide some kind of security or cover, it is not mandatory that you have to move there! Some families live in rented apartments yet these people own properties everywhere!

It is economic sabotage when the cost of living in your own house exceeds the cost of living in a rented apartment. Cost here isn't specifically monetary. Stress comes at a cost. The money you're trying to save by living 1000km away from work, you'll spend it on drugs, you will age faster, spend more on transportation, your frustration level increases, etc.

and move back to place closer to their office

always remember this house you build to live in it is a liability. its turn to ASSET if you build to rent it out.
they can rent for theirs for 300k and move to a place closer to their office for 250k therefore making extra 50k
This is practically impossible. If the 300k apartment could be that far, a more reasonable or nearer location would cost 900k. It's obvious they built in a remote location, somewhere faraway from the city or commercial centre.

Curious345:
i haven't even read the story ..

Lots of stuff don't add up there ..
A whole lot. No sane human being will take possession of another woman's toddler for 5 months over unpaid debts. This is not about heartlessness, but the fact that it makes no economic sense. What's she going to gain feeding someone else's child with her money??

Maybe she did that initially but it is very obvious that the mother of the child never had any need for the child in the first place. How can a mother even sleep without her baby. This can only be the work of a senseless as.hawo who, at the time, needed to dump her baby somewhere so she can continue her "soft" work. That's their mode of operation.

The media will obviously twist the story due to misguided sympathy. Sad that this woman may never get out of this mess despite her testimony and witnesses. The mother's side of the story is a clear case of kidnap - she easily would have gotten the police's attention if attempts were made.
HealthRe: #SaveChidubem: Police Arrest Tina Ogbonnaya Who Starved Worker's Baby To Death by Acidosis(m): 5:50am On Dec 19, 2021
The mods are heartless. No way any sane person would do this to a baby because of debts. The video tells other side's of the story

And what sort of senseless mother would leave a baby for 5 months without shouting or reporting to the police? The irresponsible mother and father of the baby should not be spared in all of this. They are stupid and deserve to be locked up in jail for at least 25 years. 5 years in jail for f**king without money or protection; 5 years for perpetual unpaid debts; 5 years for negligence and stupidi.y; and 10 years for abandoning a baby to do as.hawo work.

No way any sane person would starve a baby to bones!!! You all should think!

For those who are accusing the person that recorded the video why he did not rescue the deceased, are you guys blind to see that the guy was sitting in a dangerous position. Any attempt to hold him at that moment would have resulted in both the guy and the rescuer falling inside the lagoon. So unfortunate he died that way.
At the same time, I condemn early marriage in its entirety. Imagine blaming the parents for not taking care of a married man, when he is supposed to be taking care of his parents. If you have a means of livelihood, you can marry anything you want, otherwise, why rushing into marriage at such early stage. Such depression would have been avoided if he did not have a family to cater for at the age of 25 years without tangible means of sustenance, considering the perilous times we find ourselves orchestrated by evil old men who call themselves leaders.
May his soul rest in peace.

I am not a feminist. Yeah, I don't even live in Nigeria but you wouldn't know that. I don't do religion either. Married to one who don't do religion too.
Don't care about your actors and imams. The time all of you spend around religion should have been spent on spreading positivity. You all love religion cos it emasculated women. Ever ready to quote the most popular verse. Even those who don't attend churches or mosques knew these verses.
Curb yourselves of inferiority complex first before you come after your women.
When you see non black men, face them like yor fellow men. Men from UK are ruling and controlling you by proxy and your problem is Nigerian women. I see these Nigerian men married to whites here and how they behave around their white wives. If only they can treat their Nigerian wives 1/10th of that way. Why, because the white lady don't care about their holy books. They follow the laws of their lands. But a Nigerian woman will be subdued with their useless Bible and Koran.
Shame.
Women were made to believe that they are nothing without men. Who told you guys that?
If I had not advised you to call out the oppressors, you wouldn't have mentioned the word "Imans" right? I'm glad I achieved something. That's the main point here, address the topic and don't be scared to do so. Btw, the statement above wasn't from any Christian senator or pastor so leave them out of your generalizations. Focus on Mohammed, Islam, and the Muslim senators who said gender equality is against their religion. When it's time to address Islam issues, that's when some of you remember that there are over 100 religions in the world because you don't want to single out Mohammed for ridicule like you do to the Christian God.

Lol @ the claim that men from the UK are controlling me by proxy. You ran to them to save you, not me. I'm here in Nigeria and I don't care about them. They locked the border against you, forced you to accept all sorts of hoax, including their vaccine cos you've got no choice. I should be worried for you cheesy

Aren't you guys ashamed in your unclothedness?

Just yesterday I watched BBC documentary on . That is who we have as fathers, brothers and husbands. Majority are hiding behind keyboard to attack women.
When it comes to attacking fellow men who has brought calamity to Nigeria since its creation, they will keep quiet.
Attack on women bring and massage the masculinity in you. Attack on women make you inferiority complex and depressed souls a winner.

Measure up with men in other countries. Men like you and we will take you all serious. Lily livered fellas.

As for your religion. The religious establishers have done what they wanted, gotten the results they aimed at, you can kill yourselves to their advantages, your loss.
Have never seen cowards like Nigerian men.

See as they carry middle east religions on their head.
Shame no dey catch una.

You've confirmed my long held assumptions. Una yeye feminism no dey pass Christian marriage matter. When it's time to confront your oppressors in dansiki and hijab, you all fearfully run into hiding. Make sure you remain in that hole where you belong until a pastor in Ota says something about marriage. That's the only thing that gives y'all courage to speak cheesy When you're interested in fighting for women's position in Christian marriage gender equality, you will drop the feminism tag, walk straight to Abuja and join other human rights activists pushing for equal rights and representation.
