Driggs: When you refer someone for a contract, it is left to the person to decide if he should give you something as thanksgiving or not.. In my case, I chose to give my friend who's more like a brother to me now 10%..10% weyn I suppose carry go church.. He wants more even after explaining to him that I paid for services of people who I worked with..
He's threatening fire, brimstone and hell already..
What should I do? 10% of what exactly. Normally, it should be a percentage of net profit. If were you, from my experiences, i would have sat him down, discuss the entire project financial terms and calculate the net profit which he will get not more than 30%. If you are really generous and he is really greedy, 60-40 is the worst case. Know that you didnt get the job on your own. You are lucky he didn't even negotiate before he gave you the connection. It means he either trusted you or was inexperienced. |

I have 2 things i personally want FRSC to clarify for me.
1. Their offense sheet has fines for driving without or with shattered windscreen. Is a shattered windscreen same as cracked windscreen? We all know that a simple single line crack on the windshield will get a motorist fined.
2. Offence sheet has fine for driving with worn-out tires or without spare tire. Why does FRSC fine drivers under this code for expired tires. What is the definition of an expired tire? Some of us know that tires have no specific expiry date. 2 same tires can leave the same factory on the same day and used on the same car but one can expire before the other. One brand can expire in a year and another could take 8yrs, why would officers fine you one a code that doesnt exist. When FRSC official says your tires are expired, they will fine you for wornout tires which is not your offence. Majority of officers do not even know the existence or use of tire wear bar. Therefore there are no standards and motorist are sometimes victimized.
That was how AMAC arrested me with police, towed my vehicle and fined me almost 20k for parking on the shoulder of the speed lane in Abuja. I wonder what the shoulder was made for? That incident pain me no be small. If i make a phone call while driving, FRSC will catch me, if i park well to make a phone call AMAC go catch me, which one na! |

Press Statement
PDP Mocks Buhari for Seeking Credit For New Abuja Airport Terminal
The PDP Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) mocks President Muhammadu Buhari for attempting to claim credit for the construction of new Terminal Building at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, even when it is public knowledge that the project was designed, conceptualized and fully financed by the PDP administration.
The PPCO says it is unfortunate that President Buhari, in his desperation to nudge up his globally established non-performance rating, ahead of the 2019 Presidential election, engaged in yet another failed media stunt by trying to posture and claim credit for a project his administration made no contribution towards the funding and execution.
It was therefore derisory to see Mr. President and his handlers, comically swaggering and gleefully hugging the cameras at the commissioning of a project they made no contribution.
If anything, like the Port Harcourt Airport terminal building, President Buhari, in his flops, only succeeded in delaying the completion of the project, which concept and construction was perfected by the PDP, including payments to the contractors.
Is it not appalling that President Buhari, who, out of sheer incompetence and total disregard for the development need of our nation, cannot point to any key development project he had initiated and executed since his inauguration in 2015, despite the huge resources at his disposal, only to be going around the country, claiming credit for projects executed by the PDP?
Unarguably, such manifest incompetence and resort to false performance claims is the reason our federal lawmakers booed and jeered at Mr. President at the 2019 budget presentation at the National Assembly.
In any case, what would one expect from a President that has openly admitted that he lacked the capacity to manage an economy as complex as Nigeria’s for which he has promised Nigerians more suffering in the coming year.
The PDP is aware that President Buhari is desperate to validate his false performance indices, but seeking to lay claim to projects executed by our party, only shows that he has hit the end of the road.
The only option left for President Buhari is to accept his failures, as Nigerians rally behind the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to rescue our nation and return her to the path of good governance, development, national cohesion and economic prosperity.
Signed
Kola Ologbondiyan National Publicity Secretary

I support Buhari on his stance on completing important and abandoned projects instead of initiating new ones and abandoning uncompleted ones just like PDP was fond of. godfatherx: I want to ignore the N200 recharge card reward, the owner is just ungrateful
The Keke driver has done a good thing and should be commended.
Don't always expect the reward for your good deeds to be immediate. Don't even expect the reward to come from the person who benefited from you.
His rewards will come when due. And in multiple folds A hotel steward gives you 1st class treatment for a tip. It doesnt stop him from giving 1st class treatment if his last customer didnt give him a good tip. He has no excuse to behave badly. Even as the keke man didnt get the right tip, in the kind of country we live in, it is a painful thing not to be appreciated. In this case, it is not the lack of tip but the meagrely amount. I will not have collected it. Its better to get my full blessings than for my bleesings to be reduced to N200. Every one will agree, 100-150k would have sufficed. Let me give my personal story even though not money related. At 17yrs old I had these neighbors, the parents (drunks), 16yr old house girl and 15 and 8yr old daughters. The parents usually come home say 3am each drunk from the night out. These girls will have me stay with them till 2am just before the parents show up. One day, lying between the 2 older girls, we were watching a movie, the housegirl graped my dick and the other one climbed on top of me trying to kiss me. In summary, i was able to forcefully free myself from all the attacks. I stood up, was pushed to the wall, kissed and all but i refused and left even with pleas to do it. I had respect for their home, never had a 3some, mostly dated my age or older and lastly the 15yr old was like my school daughter since we were in the same boarding school. Besides, another neighbor guy had begged me to f..k this girl as she obviously wants it from me. This girl later slept with another of my friends, cut all ties with me, started several false rumours that i was jealous of her boyfriend, transfered from our school and called me a fool to my face. What i did out of goodwill turned out sçorn. I was laughed at, mocked for being a loser. I keep asking myself till today why i didnt do it? Later in life i did things i didnt want to just because i fear regretting i didn't. That episode of goodwill affected me negatively. When we appreciate good we encourage good. Part of the reason for corruption in Nigeria is because people never get appreciated enough, teachers graduate from universities with good grades only to retire 35yrs later without a home and in some cases even their graduity isnt enough to build a home. Why wont corruption increase when even the government doesnot appreciate labour. The main question is, was this keke man encouraged to do it again? |

My dad stays in an area with very bad road, will 1 year not be stretching it? A friend of mine recently experienced the k leg 3 times in 3 days on a 2000 Accord. It was pretty obvious what was wrong. A day prior to the first k leg, he changed his front shocks and ball joints. The ball joints were new, 4k for the pair. Obviously not oem. 1st pull. Front right ball joint nut stripped thread. Mechanic replaced with new nut. 2nd pull. Front left ball joint bolt and nut stripped thread. Whole ball joint replaced with toks. 3rd pull. Front right ball joint bolt and nut thread stripped. Whole ball joint was replaced toks. Its obvious that most new non oem bolts/nuts fail by thread stripping. Besides, on all occasions, at no time was a cotter pin installed. On all three consecutive pulls, despite the stripped threads, the pull would have been prevented if the mechanics simply installed the cotter pins. Even though 90% of the pull is thread stripping, 99% of the time cotter pins are not installed causing pull ball joints. Note, the 3 ball joints on a honda leg have holes for cotter pins but Naija mechanics simply dont find the need to put a pin. Mind you, our ceiling fans are installed with such pins, why do our fans hardly falls from the ceiling? They can dance all the want, with the pin installed, no thread stripping will cause havoc. Insist on your mechanic to install cotter pins for you. |

When you invest for 55 or 90 days at 10%, YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE FULL 10% for that investment. Divide 10% by 1 year (0.10÷364 = 0.00027). Times the result by the number of days, 55 in this case. That would give you 0.015. That means you're getting just 1.5% of that 100,000 investment.
A guy here said he read the first 300 pages of this thread. I did similar thing that is why I can say I know so much about tbills, not from reading a book or not because I work at a bank, but because I spent time here reading previous pages of this thread. Politics › Re: 2019: North Will Not Vote On Sentiment, Says Elders’ Forum by adanny01(m): 9:11am On Dec 09, 2018 |
6Ebisco: The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has said the 2019 presidential election will be won and lost based on the capacity, performance and incompetence of the candidates rather than sentiments as was the case in 2015. According to the forum, the ideal Nigerian president should be a patriot, committed nationalist, bridge-builder and unifier of all Nigerians, irrespective of tongue, tribe and religion.
Speaking with journalists in his Arewa Farms in Zaria yesterday, convener of the forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi, also revealed that power brokers in the North will not support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election in the 2019 polls because he has woefully failed to address abject poverty and underdevelopment in the region.
He said, “No one should take the North for granted, and it is not for sale. The North will no longer vote based on sentiments. It will resist shedding its blood for any candidate, and will critically scrutinise all politicians who have betrayed the hopes and mandates of our people. “They should be prepared to suffer rejection, in the same manner the votes of the North rejected the attempt to continue with impunity, corruption and indifference of the Jonathan administration,” Prof Ango warned”.
On the kind of presidential candidate Nigerians should vote for in 2019, Abdullahi who will clock 80 years on December 13, 2018 said, “The ideal presidential candidate for 2019 should be a patriot, a committed nationalist, a bridge-builder and unifier of all Nigerians.
“He must believe in, and must have demonstrated in practical terms, a strong commitment to the principles of our common humanity and the transformation of our diversity into sources of strength. “He must inspire, by personal disposition, the confidence and trust of all Nigerians that they can expect fair and just treatment and leadership that is inclusive of all sections and interest”.
On why the forum are against Buhari’s re-election, Abdullahi stated categorically that President Buhari has fallen short of the expectations of Nigerians, especially the Northern elite on whose back he rode to power in 2015 after 12 years of failed attempts. He said, “It is unfortunate that most supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari, including the president himself, think that he won the 2015 presidency because of what they described as ‘Buhari Magic.’
If Buhari had any magic at all, how come he could not win the presidency in 2003, 2007 and 2011? For 12 years, he failed to make it to Aso Rock, until we rallied round him and helped him to power in 2015. “I, Prof Ango Abdullahi, stuck out my neck for Buhari’s cause. I was nearly killed for my support for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
I was attacked in Bauchi and nearly got killed. There were 11 bullet holes in my Jeep. The Late Maitama Sule, I and other Northern elders of like minds tried to advise him, but he arrogantly ignored us. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed was the one who took our advisory letter to him.
And even after he followed up with another copy of the letter after the President claimed to have forgotten receiving any such letter, we never got any response from till date”. Abdullahi said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost the 2015 general elections basically because its leadership reneged on the agreement of eight-year tenure for the South and eight years for the North. He continued: “Former President Olusegun Obasanjo served eight years; and then it was the turn of the North. He made an attempt at a third term, but we fought him vehemently and he failed. He then brought Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
He spent three years in office and died. Initially, we didn’t want his choice, but the late Sunday Awoniyi pleaded with us to give Yar’Adua a chance and we rallied round him. “The Constitution says the vice president should step and complete the tenure in the event that the president dies. Ideally, the PDP leadership need not argue that it was indeed the turn of the North. “And then Goodluck Jonathan was allowed to contest the 2011 presidential election.
The argument was that it was about Nigerian president and not a Northern president. There was no quarrel. But when towards the end of Jonathan’s first tenure he said he was not aware of any power shift in the PDP, it became a serious problem. And this was what eventually led to the defeat of the party in 2015”. Abdullahi further maintained that the Northern elite believe that only the candidate that can measure up and is clearly capable of meeting the very high demands of leadership with personal integrity, unblemished record of selfless service, sound health and commitment to Nigeria’s unity and survival should be trusted with the leadership of the country in 2015.
He lamented that under President Buhari, Nigeria’s economy is characterised by significant loss of output, massive youth unemployment, a rising level of poverty, instability and irregular migration of skilled and unskilled labour, a situation he described as a national embarrassment and a disgrace to a country that is endowed with abundant resources.
He said another four years of Buhari administration would be catastrophic with the current government’s unprecedented incompetence and enthronement of mediocrity in dealing with the horrendous spate of killings and general insecurity across the country. He warned that no Northern politician, including the president who is seeking re-election, should expect to be voted in the 2019 general election unless they demonstrate a willingness to champion a massive assault on poverty and underdevelopment in the North.
“All political office holders from the North are, hereby, served notice that they have failed the test to lead the region towards economic recovery and growth”, he added.
Our sister publication, LEADERSHIP, had reported last Wednesday that members of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) on Tuesday sang discordant tunes on the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari. While some members, led by zonal conveners, Sani Zangon Daura (Danmasanin Daura) and Maj-Gen Paul Tarfa; and director of Logistics, Capt Bashir Sodangi, had dismissed claims of a search for President Buhari’s replacement in the North and threw their weight behind his second term bid, others on the side of the convener of the forum, Prof Abdullahi, vehemently opposed the president’s re-election.
http://mcebiscoo.com/2018/12/09/2019-north-will-not-vote-on-sentiment-says-elders-forum/ Na today? Even SE and SW go vote based on sentiment. Unfortunately, the SE does not know how to play the sentimental game. They come outspoken about it that the north doesn't feel safe the work against the SE. To all those Nairalanders shouting dullard here and there, you don't think the Northerners are watching you? If there is one thing i know about Northerners, their sentiment is never known until the last minute. |
