LegendHero: That law in itself sounds crazy. Why should they recruit someone just based on the fact that they’ve lived 20years in a locality.
So for example, if an herdsman lived in that particular community for 20years, he is entitled to be part of Amotekun too?
Just like the Miyetti Allah leader in Oyo that claimed he lived in Oyo state for several decades and even said he married a Yoruba. After all his utterances and provocations, this kind of law from Lagos means he also qualifies to be part of Amotekun right? What else do you all want. The moment you live 20 yrs in a place and speak the local language, then you are part and parcel of the place. |

The same Chinese people that come to your countries and even create their own towns called China Town. It seem their rants is directed at coloured people, principally blacks. Africa does not need China. They are need Africa's resources than we need their toxic loans. Let everyone stay in their countries, and we'll see who will cry first. Our people just don't value what they have. Time to send all chinese (prisoners) working in Africa back to China. You can imagine, it's their prisoners they used to Africa. |

I heard China now have solution to Pakistan long dry weather, they can throw some chemical compound into the atmosphere to invite rains where it hasn't been raining. It seem a big to you because 8n Nigeria people just sit on their ass and do nothing; or a power-broker will make such impossible. I am sitting here at a airport just returned from a trip to Nigeria where I was attempting to sell or collaborate with a state govt on a technology that will save billions in losses to the people and tens to 100 millions in revenue to the govt. After some high level meeting, I was told that sector in this particular state is the territory of power-broker, and state officials can't go near it. Can you imagine. Meaning people can continue to have heart attack over their losses, it does not matter. What kind of beings are Nigerians? Anyway, who need the govt? |

What kind of careless and reckless government allow citizens of China into its borders without an automatic quarantine. Imagine its Nigeria or an African country that is the epicentre, all flights out of the countries would have been banned by now with a log of stigma relates news in the international media. These are leaders with low self-esteem and inferiority complex. Wish I am a president in one of these African countries, especially Nigeria. These foreign countries would give us respect by fire or by force because the first thing I will do is to do are things that will make the citizens respect one another, and believe more in their country. Em5: So, my supervisor in a new place I work here in the United States asked me where I was from the other day and I replied him Nigeria and he said he never heard of the country and the conversation pretty much ended there.
So two days later he walked straight to my table and asked me directly what's your qualification? I told him I hold a Masters degree, he asked me in what area, and I told him. I saw the surprise in his eyes and he dragged a sit and sat in front of my desk and started to tell me how he decided to look up Nigeria the previous day and how he was surprised he never heard of such a country which recent local statistics has confirmed are the most educated immigrants in the US. And to think that most of the workers here are pretty much High school (Secondary school) graduates and here I was humbly doing my job as though we were mates academically.
What I don't know and I didn't ask him was if he also found out how corrupt my home country is and I really hoped he didnt read that part. Since then he has been relating with me with elevated regard. This may sound a bit harsh but it's an attempt to challenge you. You find yourself, a Master degree holder, working among mostly high school certificate holders. Now get your ass together no matter how challenging it is and aspire to a career that fits your academic qualifications and aspirations. In the 90s, I washed and cleaned toilets somewhere in the West, worked at Macdonalds cleaning kitchen, spent a summer doing demolition work and constructing railway line. But less than a decade later I was rubbing minds with academic elites somewhere in North America, and few more years I worked in a top energy company exclusively within a group of PhDs. Believe you deserve more and don't relent if you think and believe that. As interesting as this narrative sound, I have also stumbled in attempts to even go further into more financial independence as this is the ultimate. But you must never stop trying. |

This amount to nothing. Nigerians and blacks generally only believe in individual achievements and do not do things collectively as other migrants. So they hold no collective economic or political power as the Asians, Indians, Jews and others. To me it's all nothing. In fact in my opinion "they" are not well regarded as a bloc. |

SoNature: Uncle, calm down
When the Europeans and Americans started inventing things, the Chinese were sleeping. Check the history of tech revolution.
Just that those two continents are open to sharing knowledge. Today, there are millions of Chinese people attending American schools than the Americans attending Chinese schools.
Also, the local content law of China helped them to catch up with other serious countries. While every serious country is innovative, no country comes close to the US and Europeans in space and aircraft technologies.
You see, you rarely see Americans doing those things the Chinese do in those pictures. If you have worked with Americans in Nigeria, you will notice the same thing. Those guys are so neat, organized and rarely settle for nonsense.
However, I must give it to the Chinese because they are doing so well for themselves but America still leads even in economic indices What about your own society? You adore these people so much. Are you just a generation of followers? |

Too many people spewing trash. What do you all know about oil exploration and discovery of crude reserves that make you assume there can never be crude oil in the north. Do you even know it's possible that crude oil buried deep thousands of kilometers in the ground in the south can migrate to rock reservoirs located in the north. The north has it's own sedimentary basin. For example, Chad or Niger has been producing oil from their own land that fall under similar climate like part of the north. |

The people running Nigeria are not wise. Why would a minister disclose to the world that an area of the country facing insurgency with a territorial implication contains huge reserve oil. This would be more motivation for Boko Haram as well as enemy countries like France, Turkey and others to continue to fund them with hope of cashing in later. This man has no clue.
