Americans don't use the word "duplex", they use the words like house, mansion, storey building or apartment complex to describe their structures.
Anybody that wants to contact the op should better tread with caution before you land yourself in hot water Doing that to easily pick up the in USA in case of scam |

Education › An Open Letter To The Kaduna State Ministry Of Education by akaahs(op): 4:12pm On Oct 11, 2023 |
Subject: Letter of Appeal – Addressing the Lack of Electricity at Kaduna State University's Kafanchan Campus Dear sir/ma
I hope this open letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to express my sincere concern regarding the persistent issue of inadequate electricity supply at Kaduna State University's Kafanchan Campus. As a passionate advocate for educational excellence and sustainable development, I firmly believe that tackling this challenge is crucial for the overall growth and progress of the institution.
Having visited the Kafanchan Campus on several occasions, it deeply saddens me to witness the obstacles faced by both students and faculty members due to the lack of reliable electricity. The current situation not only affects the quality of education but also hampers routine administrative functions, research activities, and day-to-day operations. Recognizing the significance of a conducive learning environment, it is imperative to address this pressing issue promptly.
The absence of a consistent power supply has severe repercussions on the academic performance and student experience at Kaduna State University's Kafanchan Campus. Inadequate lighting in classrooms, hostels, and common areas not only jeopardizes the safety and security of the students but also impedes their ability to study during evening hours. Moreover, limited access to modern technological resources due to irregular power supply limits the potential for innovative research and educational advancements.
As concerned stakeholders, it is our collective responsibility to devise sustainable solutions to overcome this obstacle. I propose the establishment of a dedicated task force comprising university administrators, faculty members, students, and energy experts to explore viable options and implement suitable strategies. This task force should aim to:
1. Conduct a comprehensive assessment: Undertake a thorough evaluation of the current electrical infrastructure, identify bottlenecks, and determine the projected energy requirements for the campus.
2. Explore renewable energy sources: Investigate the feasibility of adopting renewable energy solutions, such as solar power to supplement or replace the existing power supply. Renewable energy sources can not only ensure a more sustainable and reliable energy supply but also help reduce operational costs in the long run.
3. Collaborate with local authorities and utility providers: Foster partnerships with relevant government agencies, energy providers, and other potential stakeholders to seek assistance and explore funding opportunities for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
4. Raise awareness and seek support: Engage the wider community, including alumni, local businesses, and philanthropic organizations, to garner support and funding for initiatives aimed at resolving the electricity issue. Conduct awareness campaigns and fundraising activities to rally support for the cause.
Addressing the lack of electricity at Kaduna State University's Kafanchan Campus requires collective effort, unwavering determination, and strategic planning. By working together, we can bridge this gap and ensure an optimal learning environment for the current and future generations of students. I am confident that with sustained commitment, we can overcome this challenge and pave the way for a brighter future for the university community.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
Yours faithfully

BoldBrainz: Nigeria's biggest problem is not the political class. Our major problem is the citizenry that allows themselves to be bamboozled with tribal and religious theatrics.
For a nation with a high level of educated youths, we're too stupid and docile to be under a democratic rule. Once a section of the country produces a leader, people of that region mobilise themselves to sing "hallelujah" songs of defence for that leader, irrespective of his despicable performances.
When that happens, other voices of objective criticism are punctured and classified as "haters and wailers", yet the deteriorating state of the economy keeps crashing on the collective shoulders of everyone, tribe and religion notwithstanding.
I detest stupid and deceitful people. I may have my flaws, but I will never support a kinsman in the face of glaring incompetence or evil. And as long as we continue on this path, we'll lack, suffer and gnash our teeth in pain while we birth children who'll continue with the sorry state of affairs of our country.
I'll never for the rest of my life lend a hand of assistance to any Nigerian for free, anymore. Never! This has always been my message to my colleagues in office who supported bad leadership especially if that person is inclined to their tribe or religion. Imagine the kind voice that stand and kick Jonathan out of office because we all believed he didn't perform well. That only happened because he came from the minority part of the country. |

fashrola: Welcome aboard, it's good to have a fellow seafarer on this forum
You are lucky to be employed onboard with your age as a wiper, I think you have someone at the top who linked you up in the company and from your story i've read, You are working on an Oil tanker vessel and which could happen to be (ST company - abbreviated for personal reason).
Your job description as a wiper is to keep the engine room clean and tidy, Help out in other engineering jobs carried in the engine room... You are in the lowest rank in the engine room department, and i will advise you keep your head on the ground and learn the job instead of poke nosing on ship provisions etc or using religion stuffs in your workplace since the owner of the company shares the same faith with you.
Your next rank you should be targeting is "Oiler" this is an engine room rating personnel who also helps the duty engineer in their daily tasks in the enginee room and you must apply for the watchkeeping exams and must pass before climbing up the rank.
Then your next rank should be Fourth Engineer and this involves a lot if you keep your head down to study and get your license.
My word of advice to you: Get closer to your duty engineer and learn the piping arrangements of the vessel, boiler operation, Main engine shutdown and starting operations, purifier maintenance and other anciliaries, This will make you a good engineer in the future.
I know the Indians onboard can be frustrating but that shouldnt deter you from learning.
Also as a married man, After getting your Oiler watchkeeping certificate, You can target applying to Offshore vessels which has less contract duration of (2 months on/ 1 month off) unlike tanker vessels of 6 months contract and extension.
I wish you luck!!! Nice input. What ll be ur advice to my brother in law who just got appointment as a 4th engineer? |

Tbozun: Day 2 (Wednesday 9th August, 2023)
I resumed for work a few minutes to 0800 today and went straight to the workshop to continue my rag cutting task. I had already being told by my cabin mate that I should always endeavor to get to work by 0750H. One of the ladies working in the ECR (Engine Control Room) came to call me and said that the chief engineer didn't know I had come that I should always come to the ECR first or else the chief engineer(CE) will think I came late. On getting to the ECR met some other officers of the engine room. The CE addressed all of us on being hardworking and avoid being negligent. He said he's watching and will take disciplinary action if necessary. He then dismissed us. After sometime he called me to ask for the ship I had worked before and I answered that this was my first time on board. He said I should be very careful being a first timer I should take things easy and should stay away from moving machinery until I know how to operate it. He asked for my career ambition which I told him I wish to progress to oiler then upwards. He then informed me that I should come to his cabin on Saturdays or Sundays to collect his boiler and civil suit to wash. Below is the hierarchy of the engine room ( from top to bottom): Chief Engineer 2nd Engineer 3rd Engineer Electrician Fitter Motorman Oiler 1 Oiler 2 Wiper (I may update in the future in case it's not correct) One of the expatriate (of which I am yet to know his designation) came to call me that the CE wants to do some work that I should assist him. I went to help him bring in some of the things he wants to use to work in the workshop. He later instructed me to empty the dustbin which I did with the help of my cabin mate and the motorman. I also went down the engine room with both of them to clean the filter of the high sea check. Veronica one of the ladies came to call us that provisions for the ship had arrived and that we should collect and put in store. While we were collecting the provisions I moved close to Alhaji Sariyu He told me he wondered why people are so selfish. He said the monthly allocation for the ship for food provisions is 1.2m but that everyone wants to cut their own share. From the captain, Chief Cook up to the people bringing it. We both agreed that that is the general attitude of Nigerians always wanting to get selfish benefits for any chance given to them. I was called to the 'Bridge' (Office of the captain and the ship's navigation center)today at several times to get my personal data and documents. Where is the place of the 4th engineer |

Tbozun: Such is the importance of a woman. Whatever glory comes to the family is to her credits though she may not always be acknowledged for it. But the Amighty who has given her that role always compensate her very well if she plays the role to the best of her ability. Coming to seafaring and men/marriage. As I mentioned earlier, for men it's best they start seafaring at very early age, probably before marriage and keep themselves chaste. If marriage comes while you have started seafaring, you must consider very well the kind of woman you want to marry very well. If you are the kind of man that can't keep chaste consider seafaring with short contracts like two weeks onshore and two weeks offshore, or one month onshore and one month offshore. An average seafaring contracts runs at least 6 months but can extend more than that depending on conditions that may or may not be under your control. Islamically you are not supposed to leave a woman for more than four to six months except in rare cases which I know must be religious or cases to which you are helpless. So the woman you want to marry must be made to know the conditions surrounding a seafarer's life. We have been created with different appetite for food, such is our urge for the opposite sex. Some can withstand it for long and some can't, which might be no fault of theirs. So if you want your partner to be faithful then consider her condition. As for those who enter into seafaring after marriage (like myself )at least you must have understood your partner and know her endurance level. If you know this and you still go ahead into seafaring, if your marriage hit the rocks then you might have noone to blame except yourself. Seafaring life is a very enticing life and as one of the officers in our ship said, working onboard and if you are in a good level you can get in a month a salary of a year's work on land and you don't even need to deduct any money for transportation. If you are not careful you might spend most part of your life at sea. Anyway if you have decided seafaring career for yourself, I wish you the best of luck. I welcome comments and creative criticism especially from my seniors and those that have preceded me in this field and my prayer is; 'May you never labour in vain' . Aamin. My brother_inlaw just started his career as a 4th engineer after obtaining relevant certification but the father really spent money. Nice write up, thanks for enlighten us into the life of seafarer. Atleast I ll have something to discuss with him the next time we communicate. |

Romance › Re: My Wife Has Set A Timetable For Sex For Me. What Do I Do? by akaahs(m): 9:35am On Aug 25, 2023 |
addmole: I and My wife have been married for 5 years. We are based here in Lagos. She's 35 years old. We are doing very okay and living comfortably. Since we got married, my wife hated sex so much. I am not even trying to sugarcoat this. She doesn't want to hear you talk about it or she does it. There's no one in the family that haven't tried to settle our differences since we got married. She was never like this when we were dating. It's been 1 issue to the other. She doesn't initiate sex, and when she does accept you to have sex, it's missionary style and it's just 1 round. Ah, me wey dey like knack wella. This woman begin change am for me. Lol. She doesn't want to hear you discuss sex.
Anyway sha, lets move on...
5 YEARS ago, her mum came to my house to kneel down and tell me I am stressing her daughter that I should not kill her with sex. Her then-unmarried sister then asked if I ama dog? Ah, insult. Anyway, I don forgive her. I spoke to my wife and told her what is the meaning of this? What kind of lies are you feeding your family with? This is the same person who happens to make just 1 round of sex. Just 1 round. She lies flat on her back. Once you are done, she quickly pushes you away if you stay on top of her for more than 10 to 15 minutes. There were times she would hit me if I try to initiate sex. I reported to her elder brother. He elder brother warned her. She stopped. She moved to kicking me anytime we initiate sex on bed, i reported to my pastor, he spoke to her and then, she stopped. My pastor told me i have to be patient with her. I said OK.
Omo... The only time we make love is just 1 round, missionary style and that's it. She says she has pain on her stomach. I have been patient for 5 years with her. I told her anytime she's strong enough, we can make out. That there's no problem.
I have been pressured to cheat on her many times. i HAVE BEEN REALLY PRESSURED. Its just not easy. Her family have insulted me for demanding sex from her. Lol. The thing tire me. I see no where i am demanding. We don't do any other position apart from the missionary style. We do not even kiss. This is a woman that doesn't want you to kiss in in anyway. Even sometimes, she shouts at you when you try to be romantic to kiss her unexpectedly just to spies up our love life. She doesn't even want you to cuddle her on bed. She wants to be alone. Make money, attend to her business, vibes, laugh with friends and family and that's it. When it comes to sex, don't go there discussing that with her about making out.
I even had to retort to preparing her mind for sex by sending her a position we would try on WhatsApp, she would leave the message on read and not respond. When you talk to her about what you sent to her, she would just tell you, she's not strong to make love.
ANOTHER PART OF HER: My wife is a very bitter person full of anger. If you try to tickle her when she's cooking in the kitchen to play with her, she gets angry and warns you not to try such. My wife doesn't want you to play with her. I am not writing all these to make it look I am a victim here. But all these are my experiences. I have to pour it out. I NEED SOME ADVICE.
There were many times, we agreed on separating. But we have already children and we used to think about these because the quarrels and the disrespect, sex and everything is causing a whole lot on us.
We do not have any form of healthy discussion very well. Before you know it, we are quarrelling over the place, she's shouting. There was a time we quarrelled that after throwing a Gotv remote at her, she fainted. She woke up before we got to the hospital. She almost died. I told her, she needs to stop her anger and control herself and enjoy her marriage. She just won't listen. She's an Edo woman.
I have tried many times to leave the marriage because it's affecting my mental health. Sometimes I regret about getting married to her. Sometimes, I just feel, maybe I CAN TRY MORE and give her a chance. When you call her to discuss our sex life, about her anger and bitterness, she doesn't apologise. She hardly apologise. Even when I get to explain her part on why she was wrong, she claims she's right until maybe someone hears us arguing before she would reluctantly apologise.
I have been battling a really starved sex life, full of a woman with bitterness, anger and pride who never apologise. She's quick to advice other women on Facebook, She would video call friends, give them advice and her family how they need to maintain peace with their relationship. But she never seem to give me respect in anyway in her own own. Hmmmm.
Recently, my wife brought out another timetable that she cannot cope making out with me the way she does. Which is 3 times a week. That she can only be available to make love 2 times a week. This 2 times is just 1 round each. This is how she wants it. I immediately responded to her that I feel her pain. I understand. She cannot be pressured just to make it look like she wants to please me that I would rather get a side chic. Yes, i know this was wrong to tell her, but i am frustrated. She disrespects me and starve me of sex and she's even bending the rules again. She responded that 'ok that I am free to do what i LIKE'.
i decided to bring this here to know the comments from people. I would like to get advice from persons who are going through similar things like this and advice me on what to do.
Some of you might say, call her and talk to her. I have done that several times since in the last 5years. I did it last night and twice today. I have spoken to her. She promised she would change, she would not only repeat the same thing but make things worst the next time.
She disrespects me a lot. I have sometimes left the house but come back after families get to call me. She would change for a week and return to her old self.
What do I DO? Please make your responses constructive enough. Everything u narrated about ur sex life is exactly what im experiencing in my marriage. Im just processing the whole thing and I don't seem to understand why a woman ll marry and starved her husband of sex and stilll feel comfortable. |
