I'm neither a doc or a pharmacist or a nurse

I do agree with you completely. When it comes to man woman matter, its a difficult one to really dissect.

I know of two friends who are both AS. While the guy was willing to push ahead, the lady left the guy and now married to AA guy but i can tell you today that she is still struggling as she already had two miscarriage. I dont rejoice in her pain and i feel for her. There maybe medical reasons but going for AA isnt changing anything. Afterall, she is healthy even being an AS. Ofcourse we also considered the spiritual angle and when i spoke with about her with a spiritual minded person and he said she would have been more happier with the previous guy. Well, you a med person from your responses and am sure you know what you saying.

While science may say otherwise, that one shot at happiness maybe prove maybe the best way and prove otherwise if the believe is strong but then, you right, we cant ognore the medical implication

You are right however, if it is a risk they are willing to take, life can favour them and they AAs instead or atleast, one AA first with one AS to follow. Once they are to secure these two, they can end it there and enjoy their lives. There is nothing wrong in trying. Seems you are with me in this. I think Education and too much exposure is doing more harm than good which is making a lot of ladies lose good men that comes their ways. In this girl case, what happens to those illiterate that impregnate themselves anyhow without doing any test. How many cases of SS have they recorded with the way people sleep around without checking their genotype status. Our forefathers didn't do all these funny test before they give birth to our healthy parents. I just have the believe that if AS vs AS couple have the mind or thought of given birth to SS, it will surely come to them. One needs to be positive in life.

firstly, this is an abuse of the military. an insult to the Nigerian military. that the military would be called to a trivial case like this is abhorring. this is a chairman's case.

secondly, the reporter is biased. we do not know what happened really. some igbo men are known to display hostility toward northerners or other tribes who do not speak igbo. they feel superior to everyone and want to get the first seat and they insult people for no reason.

thirdly, this might chase many customers away. igbo men make a lot of cash from hausa customers.

One question instead of doing charity work let him come to Africa and actually try to make money let us see how succesful he can be at that where there is no protection from the government for intellectual property.

Africa needs investment not charity? We need jobs not vaccines.

If he loves us so much let him come and open ranches and Dairy farms let him invest in the power sector. Let him come and do business .

The truth is that there is nothing like emergency care in Nigerian teaching hospitals. Just pray that your case doesn't become emergency because if it does,your case is at God's mercy. The delay in accident and emergency is just sad. The protocol is much. Before one would stand in queue to make payment,a lot may go wrong. What is our national health insurance doing? NHIS is meant to cover for every citizen that presents as emergency so that the health workers can start attending to people who present in emergency without payment. But in Nigeria, the government nurse will ask you to go and pay for folder,you will stand in queue to buy every single thing the doctor needs to attend to your relation. Within 8hours , four people died in my presence while we were at the accident and emergency. Oxygen cylinders were limited for some who needed them. A doctor waits for ages before he gets result of tests that will enable him treat patient. How can acdident and emergency not have a functioning defibrillator for someone with cardiac arrest? When someone is about to die the doctors just come and press the chest. No Ambubag to resuscitate or give air. My relation had a stroke and would have benefited from one drug called "Alteplase" from what the CT scan doctor told us as he presented very early. Do you know that Nigerian teaching hospital does not have this drug that could have saved a stroke patient? I put a call to a doctor friend abroad and he was surprise how accident unit would not have such important drug used for heart attack and stroke patient. I lost my relation in the hospital.The Nigerian system has failed us. Our government don't care since they have the money to travel abroad. I pity people who shout "Sai Buhari" . Just pray you or your relation don't end in such condition where your life would have been saved if we have sane government. Our past leaders have also failed us. The doctors complained of being understaffed. It took the doctor more than 45 mins before he showed when my relation was eventually gasping to die. By the time he came,my relation had passed out. He said he was the only doctor covering two wards or so.

Our lawyers should also sit up. Doctors , nurses and teaching hospitals should be sued for medical negligence. A patient has much right abroad but in Niheria,health workers see themselves like god. I know our hospitals are under equipped but if lawyers should start sueing,maybe these government hospitals will sit up as pressure will be on the government to do what they ought to do.
