deomelo:Please list the goods that we can supply to other markets at a cheaper price than local ones? Is it electricity, chickens, industrial goods or which? In a way that we can flood their markets with them considering good quality & lower price? Being proud and say largest economy is not enough. We're over 3 times in population than the nearest in economy (South Africa) and more than twice in population than Egypt & Ethiopia. We're talking reality here, not ego. |
jomoh:We are saying the same thing aside the bolded. On the bolded I disagree. What imported products were available in the market in 9ja in say February 2015 that are not available anymore? Which imported rice were you eating that your wife cannot find in thw market today? Or Brocade, Elepaq/Firman generator? Infinix, Injoo or Samsung products? His policies only mean prices have gone up and probably less tax receipt through more smuggling. Are you referring to Buhari's policies that sent around 227 companies into liquidation and about to close P & G at Agbara? Or the ones that sent Iberia and others packing? Just because a mad man goes to the farm doesn't mean he does any useful work there. No sir, his policies and policy somersaults have been abysmal. To say we have not produced anything in 30 years is a lie from the stables of Lai Mohammed. In 1988 Michelin & Volkswagen were still open in Ojo. PAN Peugeot Kaduna was very active. Despite the poor economy Buhari left IBB and IBB's poorly thought out SAP. If you were not alive then or big enough do not claim what you did not witness. Look, a good policy can be very detrimental if implemented at the wrong time or wrong way. All the products Buhari banned, did he have like 2 or certain years plan to be self-sufficient in making or producing those goods before banning? |
gabazin080: . Borrow pose. Common with car borrowing. |
Nigerians and obsession with other people's age. Very cynical lot. |
bozzyjoan:But is shows Nigeria is admitting it has nothing to offer other countries aside crude oil & Nollywood films. If Nigeria had electricity and proper industries, our large population and talent pool should mean cheaper products that can flood other African countries. Procter & Gamble that opened last year in Agbara is about to close now. What can we export to bring in money? We are simply in a position of weakness. USA/Trump can make nyanga because their internal market is massive due to a large wealthy population. Our population is large but about 70% live only on $1 per day. |
Dareal90s:Lol. No more of that these days. ![]() |
peeps4u:That does not matter to tribalists and religious extremists. Just having power is good enough. Anyone that has no job or money can go and die. Dem nor send anyone. Our people say "if you blind your eyes in order to avoid seeing your enemies, you also won't have eyes to see your friends". |
Nice one. |
People only saw the messenger and not the message. John the baptist & Jesus were pariahs in their time. Only the very poor, down-trodden & slaves took them seriously. The Pharisees can be likened to Daddy Freeze's aunt. Aloof and stuck in their religious routine & dogma that was interwoven with politics & status quo. But both Jesus & John had a message that has endured till today. When I hear fella's songs I wonder if he's alive and just released the songs after observing what we're currently going through. His songs show that those who had eyes could see where we were heading decades earlier. |
CaptJeffry:Like BSc in Laiological Science. ![]() |
majorgr:I know several black people in Nigeria with blue eyes. I have seen blacks with blue eyes outside Nigeria too. If you know genetics even a tiny bit you won't claim that. Chinese people mixed with Mongols and other Caucasus tribes in Eurasia over millenniums. How can some not have blue, hazel or green eyes? |
So officially we now have two choices: surrender land or death! Now we can see the religious aspect. Convert or die will follow next. As usual the North is using SW to do their dirty work. Adesina is a willing slave like Tinubu. A first class coward this Adesina. When someone feels too cunning and sophisticated, he becomes the biggest fool without knowing. |
Stranac:Very correct. Many people do not know that non-Benin people have risen to high positions in Benin Kingdom in the past and still do. A lot of Iyase (Prime Minister & second in power to the Oba) have come from outside core Benin areas. Two have come from Akure (Ado-Akure) and most famous is Okoro-Otun. A street is named after him in GRA Benin. Another is Otokiti from Bayelsa. The current Iyase (Chief Igbe) is of Urhobo origin. Benin has a lot of meritocracy historically. People of various tribes who excelled in war became heroes. Example is Ogogobiaga who was Igbo. Several Esan people too. Most people do not know for example that Asoro, whose statue is at Ring Road was a Yoruboid Benin person from Iguogho in Ovia, not from Orhionmwon as some presume. The tribal politics we have in today is fairly recent. |
pocohantas:Chai! Poco likes precision German engineering. Smooth operation. ![]() |
oluwaahmed:The red flag is the ancient Benin Empire flag. It was a warrior empire and no empire grows through peace only. All occurred through war. The Sokoto Caliphate began with Uthman Dan Fodio just like Boko Haram began. If Boko Haram insurgence began just 130 years, they might be ruling all of Northern Nigeria by now. The beheading flag was the usual war flag/banner. You can criticise as you want. Warriors 500 years were not sisis like all the effeminate men we have today. The flag is part of our heritage and remains. |

Stranac:A quick note here. Benin is not a tribe. It is more of a culture. The sub-tribes make up the Benin people. A remnant of a previously very diverse Kingdom/Empire. Reason is within the current core Benin areas, there are still indigenous, Yoruboid people (Usen, Utese, Iguogho, Egbeta), Izon (Gelegele) & Igboid (Igbanke) people. The monarch sits at the top of that cultural heritage with Benin language as the central language. Benin is just called a tribe for simplicity sake. But the imperial history still reflected in the culture is much more complex. |
Hardrive:Well tell the British, the Japanese, Thais, Belgians, Dutch, Swedes, Norwegians, Saudis, Moroccans, Spaniards, Danes and others to first abolish their monarchies. Then we will discuss. In Benin Kings were not sit at home Kings. That only came with colonialism. The deportation of Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi in 1897 precisely. Kings led soldiers to war previously. |
Bilabong:To begin we're not black. We're brown, ebony and diverse. We Africans have the most diverse colour shades. ![]() |
Hi Caracta, how did the memory matter go? Hope it didn't get worse. In a young person stress is a major cause. Assuming no accident/blow to the head, no high blood pressure, no alcohol abuse (vitamin B1 deficiency), no brain infection (encephalitis) and no use of drugs like LSD, barbiturates, certain cardiovascular drugs like Digoxin, methyldopa, etc. And no hormonal issues. |
1shortblackboy:Who are useless "peoples" as he puts it? Go figure. |
If you like criticise the guy, but he just said what diplomacy & politics won't allow his people say openly. It is no secret. What surprises me is the reaction here on NL. I wonder if people didn't know this before. |
Picture of the wife or..........You know the rest. ![]() |
BleSSedMee:Thank God Boko Haram didn't get a chance to indoctrinate this couple. Their fanaticism for nor be here o. |
kikikikiki. Is that all he's forming super-hubby for? He should cook proper vegetable and healthy food while at it. The woman was not ordered to have bed rest. Being less active in pregnancy is not that great actually. A man can cook for his family any time, pregnancy or not. I'd even prefer him doing this often when baby has arrived and the wife is nursing. |
But how many times will they kidnap this man abeg? Thamk God he's alive. |
SalamRushdie:Absolute madness. Animals that are slow breeding like civet cats and antelopes/deer should be left alone. Grass cutters breed like rodents and not endangered. They can be fairly easily commercially bred too. |
Kiki Kiki. ![]() Adoma do body. Jonathan hatred made them to destroy something their tax money paid for. ![]() It just simply sums up how hatred made them bring Buhari's misery upon themselves. God nor dey sleep. |
Kennydoc:Lol. You needed to see how Africans celebrated in Paris in July 1998. It was as if Senegal, Nigeria or Algeria won. Nobody from Africa even mentioned France in the celebrations sef. ![]() It was a very good experience to be part of. That good momentum carried them through Euro 2000. |
Kennydoc:Hahahaha! Nobody follows us to share the bad eggs. ![]() |
Kennydoc:Now you're talking. So 9ja scored two goals for France in one game. ![]() |
robosky02:Not only a black man o. A man they might have stolen from 9ja sef. Because Mbappe's baby brother is called "Adeyemi". That is as Nigerian as it gets. I cannot even count how many Adeyemi I have in the family. ![]() The father is Cameroonian. It may even be Cameroonian via Nigeria like Emmanuel Adebayor or Razak Omotoyossi of Togo & Benin. Nor be only modern slave traders, fraudsters, terrorists and drug dealers dem go dey use microscope dey trace come 9ja. |
