Everyone knows that Osinbajo is a good brilliant man.

But in 9ja a brilliant person can be caged by politics and our unworkable system. Making them largely redundant.

Benin also bears Amadi and Okoro
Okoro in Benin even means boy but most commonly used as Prince. Son of the Oba.

Okoro N'okhua is crown prince. Before he is invested as Edaiken.

Amadi is a common name. Both are still regular surnames in Benin.

They won't because even big men rape.
It's not considered a serious crime by many of our men. Unlike Western countries where only murder is more serious than rape. Violent rape will get you life sentence in several Western countries.

That was a big insult to Nigeria...you cant allow a nation carry its citizens directly, but would rather another African country carries its citizens for it at a higher cost...

Real see finish..
Look let's be honest. Does Nigeria have a proper Airline that flies our national flag? No!

Others rubbish us because of our lack of seriousness. That is why they allowed Ethiopian Airlines with a good track record to do it.

Why has the rep not constantly worry the authorities to support a national carrier?

Is it the same Sirika that blew million dollars on audio Air Nigeria that the reps are praising? grin

If they ban UK and Canadian airlines from landing, which airlines will they be taking to get medical treatment abroad? grin

It hardly matters if the money goes to France, Germany or US Airlines. Still our loss as we have no decent airline of our own. Others airlines will just hike prices on 9ja routes. Simple.

My grandad's from both maternal and paternal died from small pox in the 1940s and 1950s.
The World Health Organization (WHO) championed a campaign which eventually led to the complete eradication of smallpox from Nigeria in 1980.
Sadly not many have the awareness of how international bodies saved many lives. Trump is only angry over the rise of China. China has a new self confidence after being dismissed as primitive yellow monkeys in the past.

The Chinese have admirably earned their spurs. If we Africans were a bit more serious, we would be like China now forming another power block.

CultureRe: For Racism Against Blacks To Reduce Drastically, The Black Race Needs To Be Rich by AreaFada2:
ednut1:
By Lord Lugard:

""In character and temperament" wrote Lord Lugard, "the
typical African of this race-type is a happy,
thriftless, excitable person. Lacking in self control,
discipline, and foresight. Naturally courageous, and
naturally courteous and polite, full of personal vanity, with
little sense of veracity, fond of music and loving
weapons as an oriental loves jewelry. His thoughts are
concentrated on the events and feelings of the moment,
and he suffers little from the apprehension for the
future, or grief for the past.

His mind is far nearer to
the animal world than the that of the European or
Asiatic, and exhibits something of the animals placidity
and want of desire to rise beyond the State he has
reached. Through the ages the African appears to have
evolved no organized religious creed, and though some
tribes appear to believe in a deity, the religious sense
seldom rises above pantheistic animalism and seems more
often to take the form of a vague dread of the
supernatural".

He lacks the power of organization, and is
conspicuously deficient in the management and control alike of
men or business. He loves the display of power, but
fails to realize its responsibility ....he will work
hard with a less incentive than most races. He has the
courage of the fighting animal -an instinct rather than
a moral virtue......In brief, the virtues and defects
of this race-type are those of attractive children,
whose confidence when it is won is given ungrudgingly as
to an older and wiser superior and without
envy.......Perhaps the two traits which have impressed me as
those most characteristic of the African native are his
lack of apprehension and his ability to visualize the
future"

Pg 70 of The Dual Mandate by F. D. Lugard 1926

The characteristics noted by lugard are still happening today. The black race everywhere have no unity or ability to think about the future. After all the neo colonialism(imf loans, cia interference and western manipulations) , african nations have still gone to enter China loan trap. Just take a look at Liberia where some African Americans slaves were resettled. They began to discriminate against the indigenes and we all saw the wars that became of it. Even in the USA once black Americans hear your have an African name they begin to discriminate against africans. All over the world black nations in african and those of majority slave descendants (Jamaica, haiti and others) are suffering from same thing. As far as am concerned the black race does not have the capacity or drive to be rich or make an impact
While some of his assertions maybe correct, many were coloured by his own prejudices.

Many African societies were pretty well organised. Without any contact with Europeans or Asians.

The Romans wrote worse about other Europeans that they dismissed as Barbarians.

Nubians were black and went to conquer Egypt and ruled as black Pharaohs. Something Europeans of 1926 when Lugard wrote would have archeologically dismissed.

About same time Lugard was writing, Hitler dismissed Jews as an inferior race. An ancient people with a superior history of civilization than the Germans. Today Jews are the richest and most influential people per head in the world.

Over 100 years before Lugard wrote, Toussaint L'Ouverture led Haitians to defeat the French.

Haitians worked hard to win and their incentive was freedom. Which was and is priceless.

Remember that until about 40 years ago, maybe only 25% of Africans were educated in Western terms. It affected how we processed our history.

India alone has more deities than Africa. They were mostly polytheistic too. Not just pantheistic.

It's not so much how others define you that matter. It's what we do with ourselves.
Currently we practice a political system alien to us. We have other people's religions.
These are forms of colonialism that most Africans have not even realised.

You just confirmed my point that Trump supporters are mostly weird people. Your gutter language shows it.

How does Jesus forgiving a prostitute equate to Trump that has no regard for black lives? Jesus spared a sinner's life and that's equal to Trump recommending shooting looters (as much as we all condemn looting) in your "Solomonic" wisdom?

Clearly, like Trump, his supporters are confused truth-bending lots.

If you want to preach leave politics. I was disappointed that you preach Christ and still say that it's right for a President to order for his people to be shot at sight.
Stop spamming Nairaland please. Stick to politics!
Trump supporters are hypocrites. Many may even have personality issues that attract them to bigots, megalomaniacs, dictators and such people. If you check most will also support conspiracy theories. Lovers of Kim Jung-un and Vlad Putin.

Those are the type of people. And all are basically right wing masquerading as Christians. Like those holding Bible in one hand and hanging freedom-seeking slaves with another. Back in the days. Blacks among them are usually self-loathers. They hate being black inwardly.

Subconsciously anything that will harm fellow blacks, they'll support it. Never mind if they wear Buba/Soro,/Isiagwu/walking stick or native beads and hats and form proud Igbo/Yoruba/Benin/Tiv/Izon/Berom or whatever.

Journalists go to places and ask people for their consent to appear on TV. Patients know the public interest and benefit of what journalists are trying to put out there. But we are generally not that enlightened as a society.

In 9ja do our journalists have time for that?
In the West ambulances are everywhere. Conveying people to hospitals or the dead to mortuaries. Again journalists are quick to react to news and show pics and videos ethically.

Do we routinely see ambulances picking up the sick from their homes? No.

We have no system or institutions that work properly. So do not expect ours to work.

What we see on Western TV are not govt issued pictures but the media doing their work correctly.

Anyone who was old enough will know how Nigeria transformed between 1999 and 2015 despite the shortcomings of PDP. But many are very young people and they just go with the flow of politics and sentiments on tribal, religious or follow-follow basis.

What's the big deal about testing? Should anyone I know display symptoms, I'd encourage them to go. My people are not people without own will to be turned in. It's still voluntary.

I think it's idiotic to have symptoms or get the easy opportunity to get tested and refuse (no offence).

We should have mobile testing vehicles/vans in highly populated or areas mapped to have high Covid-19 cases. Not rely on disastrous, discouraging and frustrating bureaucratic ways we do things in Nigeria to access testing. Especially as we were roughly a month behind Europe in the pandemic.

The onus is on the authorities to access reasonably easy considering the lock down.

I do not know where people without symptoms/contact with an infected person can just turn up for tests.

Bloody wicked and hypocritical people, you'll continue to get these disappointments till you come to your senses and realize that corona is not spreading and can't harm Nigerians the way the media has painted it.

I can't take u seriously if u keep believing that we have up to 8k cases.
Nigeria with the population size should be doing minimum 100k tests daily. We have not even managed 50k in total yet.

Extrapolate the positives from under 50k on 200 million people. That will give a better idea. Albeit crudely.

Early lock down obviously helped.

But despite our low testing capacity, it's still rising.

How can your strength be an undereducated population?
One even argued with me here on Nairaland last week that population has never been a problem to any country. That even Germany is even encouraging foreigners to come and have kids.

So you wonder if a country that has to plan like Nigeria does not already have a BIG problem.

With Boko Haram, kidnappers, herdsmen, armed robbers, cultists and ritual killers from primary school to university and everywhere. All due to population growth that we cannot afford.

How anyone can compare us with Germany that plan meticulously and assess need for human resource short, medium and long term is beyond me.
