Saintinoo: Coronavirus killed 91,000 people in US?
How many people have died from Malaira? Nobody cares to know. If with herbal skills you touted we still cannot tackle an African disease after thousands of years why should the world care? Very clear evidence of Myrtle leaves used in treating malaria in ancient Egyptian tombs. And malaria drugs the whites developed and mosquito preventing techniques are cheap. If it still kills people anyhow we can blame nobody. Ask our medical research bodies in Nigeria about figures. |

Saintinoo: Covid-19 will not ravage any rural community, those people will use their herbs and deal with it sharp sharp...
Science has proven that this virus is not a death sentence, you can recover very fast from it, so why the unnecessary hype?
Russia had 10000+ case per day but still president Putin ordered for easing of lockdown, lock yourself up if you want to, people need to go out and live their life. Which herbs? How many people still have herbal medicinal skills? Is it not the same dilapidated town hospitals they go to when the trial and error herbs fail? If Abba Kyari or any other Covid-19 victim was your relative would you say it isn't serious? Ask the relatives of 96,000 American and 36, 000 UK dead if Covid-19 is a death sentence or not. |

JewelStone: I'm not gonna lie...I miss Nigeria sometimes which makes me flirt with the idea of splitting my time there when my kids are older. I miss my family, my friends and the sense of community.
But then I remember lack of internet and electricity, horrific healthcare system, bad roads, bigotry, lack of value for human life, insecurity, police brutality, immense corruption, tribalism, crumbling or non-existent economy and a million other horrible things. This quickly resets my mind.
My solution which I'm currently working on is to bring my sisters and my best friend over to live in Sydney with me and make good living for themselves. Then I won't have any business with Nigeria anymore except to visit my parents every two years.
So to answer your question: no, nein, never!!! Please listen very well. If you left home over 10 to 15 years, just wake up from your dream. The community you knew doesn't exist anymore. Do not let what you see visiting home deceive you. For many who left long ago, parents or grandparents may be gone by now, once nice relatives have changed, neighborhoods have changed. Attitude to money and wealth have changed. In fact everything has changed. Sense of community you knew is no more. Crime is worse, envy is high, etc. Those friends who have been successful in 9ja have moved away too. They won't have your time if you are not gonna contribute anything to their business growth. Where you are now is your NEW & PERMANENT home. Especially as you have kids there. |

Well, virgins were given out in those days. Not anymore. Maybe it made sense back then. When infidelity by women was also very are across all tribes. To feminists saying men are not faithful too, well, the women are not the ones given this long list. So we are talking of what men would after fulfilling the list. Should ex boyfriends' rebate not apply? By the way all cultures and families believe they are giving out a wonderful wife material daughter. Na normal hype. But we all know that only few women from any tribe or culture or country actually fit the bill. |

Mikkymilli: Mr A says he doesn't know anyone that knows someone that knows someone that has the corona virus. So, he doesn't believe there's corona virus in Nigeria and goes about his day not taking any precaution. Mr B knows Mr A. Mr C knows Mr B. Mr D knows Mr C.
Few weeks later, due to Mr A's negligence and carefree attitude, he starts developing Covid 19 symptoms and was later diagnosed to have corona virus. Mr B finds out about it and tells Mr C. Mr C then tells Mr D. Mr D now knows someone that knows someone that has the virus.
Don't be like Mr A. It's a terrible thing my brother. So many in denial for comfort. Currently over 50% of people in 9ja are like Mr. A. More worrying is what I heard that many town dwellers are going to the villages to relax. Or just to escape city lock down. Usually going to stay with elderly grandparents/parents/relatives. Extremely vulnerable people. So many villages are full like during Christmas in the past. Now many of these villages have decent or no hospitals at all. So should Covid-19 start raving rural areas, imagine the scenario. |

DrGoodman: What we really need, is state policing. Yes, State or Regional Policing Autonomy executive order. Not Money looting & sharing autonomy executive order Buhari just signed. While it looks good on paper, what does it mean in practice? Does it mean those institutions will now source for own funds from private businesses? Or just autonomy to spend their allocations from states or FG as they deem fit without accountability? The devil is always in the detail. It's strengthening of institutions at large that really matters. What do successful countries do well in strengthening institutions that cannot be emulated within a few years? Since 1999 or even since 2015 since they told us we now have Saint Buhari? |

Modesthy: I had a good uncle who passed away three years ago. His wife morned him for one year. I lived with that my uncle until I got married and parked to my own house.
I use to visit the house sometimes. After the mourning, his wife called me and told me that I should give her more children. She has only one male child. I refused. But She said I should do it for her because she doesn't want children outside the family because she loved my uncle and our family and that she can't continue to stay with only one child.
I'm completely confused. First I'm married doing that is infidelity, sencondly, the uncle was like a father to me before his death. And I see it as a big sin.
Please somebody should help me, what do I do here? How do I handle this issue? Thanks for your candid advice. The replies here mean that we see our tradition as inferior. And borrowed religion clearly now dictates what we do. First of all, what's or what was the tradition in your clan? Do family members inherit wives? Or this is something culturally unknown and absurd that your late uncle's wife suddenly came up with? Cultural congruence matters in understanding people. While it may not be to everybody's taste (I couldn't do it for example), it doesn't make it wrong. What would the entire family say about such a move? And most importantly, what good will it do you and your wife to suddenly bring an aunt-in-law into your household as a quasi-wife or baby mama? I guess these are some of the things people need to know before dishing out advise based on their own way of life or culture. |

He quit my job for another without the usual one month notice and he wanted payment for that month. I picked him up in is current job place, I made him sign undertaking with the state CID. We should be careful those we employ in the name of staff, I have seen a lot in Nigeria. You'll see cult members writing application to your company, native doctor children, thief gangs wizard and witches. These factors made some people conclude that successful people in Nigeria belong to something. It might be one ex staff did this thing to this man. It can even be over a little argument or little money. They meant to humiliate and kill him. Such stuff are mostly personal. Over money, woman, property or disagreement or envy. Those people you think are wretched and can't do anything are the most dangerous. Because they have not much to lose. RIP to him. |

Atheists do not necessarily totally believe there is no God. Some just do not see the narrow view of religion especially as most contradict each other. Western religion as practiced in the West is more accommodating now. Far better. |
