sassysure:Really? Wow! So it wasn't Amaechi and Tinubu and Dangote and that Elderly Widow that Sponsored Buhari again wow! Good to know. The Current Administration has totally disappointed. True. But enough with these contradictory stories already. |
KingAzubuike:I am probably going to accept my ignorance on the whole issue(well knowing very very little). Could you help I and many others summarize your stand on the issue?— Make us know more. Is Suleimani really a good guy who the US unnecessarily murdered? I sincerely look to know. The little I know is that he is a prominent figure of the Baqir Brigade. A group currently geared towards thwarting US interests. I also know that (US or no US) Iran currently has an oppressive regime with Govt. Clamp down leading to the death of hundreds of protesters in Nov 2019. The govt even shut down the internet to limit the flow of info/effectiveness of the protests. |
sanusi44z:War is Terrible. I certainly don't wish for one. I don't know "much" about international Warfare but even I know about the Baqir Brigade. It is supposed to be a Militia group in Syria but other Nationals with anti-western rhetorics soon joined in. One of such Prominent figures is the Slain Iranian Gen. I don't know why he was involved with such a group (seeing he isn't from Syria) but he was Certainly a strong influence on that group. Research it. As we speak there are a lot of people IN IRAN celebrating his assas. Over hundreds of protesters he allegedly ordered murdered 3 months ago. I don't know enough to judge these situations but be rest assured most murdered "Generals" have been really bad actors....I mean....these are Generals not foot soldiers. |
PointZerom:Not Originally for everyone. The 12 months as we know it was majorly a Greaco-Roman creation. Certainly not in tandem with Muslim and Chinese Calendar. The Chinese for instance have their new Year in February and name years by animals (symbolic to them). These people as Independent as they want to be would never give in to celebrating the Roman(By extension Western) VIEW of the world. It would mean they have lost the Global Power struggle. |
TOSIN116:Hahaha! Funny enough— if you don't know— there are certainly apps that can reverse engineer(undo the Negative and see your true picture) the effect you've created. If you didn't want to, you probably shouldn't have posted at all. |
TechCapon:Hahahaha! Are you not being a bit hasty here. Both Lampard and Henry never started their professional careers at Chelsea & Arsenal respectively. Again where did Xavi leave to ? Quatar's Al Sadd FC. Are you serious? If Staying in a particular club really confers some form of special advantage to a player, Could you name a One-club Player better than CR7? |
Alabifirstson:Do you really think the whole of Borno is unlivable ? Wow! We (those outside typically) tend to overstate the security situation(even though it really is bad). |
ijustdey:I once saw a documentary that harped that Light rail projects (popularized in America has never been successful in populous cities). It's possible that more than 300M$ has been put into lightrails in Nigeria already. Wow! |
seniormallam:40 MW for one local government Haba! Nigeria's current Official installed capacity is less than 10000MW and you say 40 MW is for one LGA ? That would Mean that our current configuration has around 30000MW then (i.e 774 x 40) , which is not the case So 40 would typically be at least far more than one LGA. |
seniormallam:Hahaha! To be fair though, Some may argue that the 1 yr and 8 mnths period within which PMB reigned as HOS was not enough time to complete the Project in the 80s. A great many people may have fed fat off of this Project. |
Blindersoff:Since it is not a captive plant power arrangement, It would eventually contribute to electricity distributed within/around the locale through the relevant Electricity distribution companies— Whether or not it is connected to the Grid. |
helinues:It's self descriptive. The Op means Indigenes of Kano who are Hausas and Christians. I must confess I didn't know that there were Hausas who are indigenes of Kano and also Christians. I knew there were in Kaduna though. |
onedayatime:Calm down. You didn't take time to read the guy I quoted. He said How do you win UCL and not win player of the year... He then said " Thunder fire Messi and CR7". I.e. referring to Mane and Salah missing out on Global awards. Sure enough they currently are the best in Africa that's not really disputable this year. The guy I quoted lamented their loss at global/uefa awards, not this one(African). Cheers. |
StrikeBack:True. To be fair though. They(the two) weren't as effective as is thought in Liverpool's UCL win. Calm down... They lost half of their group fixture games in the UCL. (Including Against red star Belgrade). They Lost the first leg against Barca in the semi-final. (A game in which both of them prominently featured). Salah (while a good player) didn't even feature in the 2nd leg. Mane (who played) was Certainly not key in Liverpool's great comeback. (Himself missing clear-cut opportunities). They were salvaged by their team mates (Origi & Vinny's) heroics. Salah came to score a penalty in the final but this would not have happened without Origi's heroics previously. Barca only lost one game in The whole UCL 2018/19. I.e. the game against Liverpool. No Liverpool player had 70% MOTM awards Messi had in the campaign. It's easy to say they won the Champions league so they had a better campaign but you would have to add Salah + Mane + Firminho's goals to reach Messi's 12. So there you have it, you decide. |
otunbalamba:Sure. Call their students affairs unit. |
Jackyboy:Most certainly you'll get a job. It also helps that you are intelligent. However, do you really feel any "Higher" or more entitled to one particularly for being a "foreign grad"? My opinion, if you don't take offense is that you shouldn't. In fact you should take no much thought about being a foreign grad. That should be a consideration left for your potential employers. It may well be taking it's toll on you seeing you MAY have been (a little) less worried if you weren't foreign trained. I think that the biggest problem we have as people sometimes may be to subconsciously think that we are special. especially due to a few distinctive achievements of ours. In fact we aren't that special. We are different ? yes (through various privileges and efforts) but soon we may be hit by a reality that then reminds us of our "not so special" status. You certainly would get a job by God's grace. Cheers. |
qualityGod:Sad. Lack of trust may be the single largest impediment to our growth both as a nation and as individuals. In Nigeria you can't explore a single investment opportunity without thinking of 5 safeguards for that investment. This kind of thinking is limiting. Almost no one can be trusted, even the proverbial "very elect" could deceive you. |
ShitStain:It means goal per game ratio. Where 100% = 1 goal per game on average by the player. |
Munzy14:I think I get what you mean but I still wouldn't call anyone dumb (Much less one who has no diagnosed medical condition). People are complex beings with (sometimes ) unexplored sides to them. Humans (including the ones you may view as dumb) are capable of achieving great things, sometimes unexplainably. And I am no motivational guy. |
Munzy14:Hahaha! Are there really dumb personalities ? Or just people with whom you don't have shared interests. It's funny how we Nigerians tend to reduce intelligence to being able to "hold conversations on International politics/economics". What if that is not my Kettle of fish? I become dumb? What if my interests are in Deep sea exploration or Big data analytics or even recent developments in cancer research ? Can you also have meaningful conversations on those? Some see International politics/economics as pretentious conjectures, where everyone is an "expert"— while the subject discussed is often completely outside the control of the discussants. Ego might be what's at play sometimes. It forces some of us to indulge in interests we don't really care about deeply. It always seems nice being able to make "contributions" to public discussions on int'l politics but it shouldn't mean those who can't/don't are dumb. Intelligence, while good, is not as effective as people imagine though. I would always prefer resourcefulness. God help us. |
ITbomb:Most? Really ? Can you prove this? Do you know that if this is true the opponents should have known (and proved this) more than you do? On the flip side, haven't we all on this platform praised Nigerians in diaspora who have attained positions of political authority in US and the UK. Is it strange for us to permit this [if the fellow] has stayed long enough and has the clout/leadership in the said state? |
Ebencoula14:That's not what I asked. I said what did he achieve THAT year that Messi didn't achieve THIS year? So if he was good enough THAT year why isn't Messi good enough THIS year? |
Le124:Really? Anything can be labeled controversial. In 2013 CR7 won the BD0 without winning any major trophy. Could you tell us the tangible achievement he won that year that Messi didn't achieve this year to win that award. I didn't say he (cr7) didn't merit that one. Neither would I say he did. These awards are votes based. People would vote whomever they please. |
RisenPhoenix:Don't mistake positive responses for good thinking. In this age of herd syndrome, we tend not to think things through at times. You are a pro-marry-early proponent. Fine. Ride on. You don't have to taint others as being intolerant for doing different. You just admitted up here that there are literally "thousands" of factors that drive divorces. By that admission you should be wrong then [or at least contradicting] yourself. |
RisenPhoenix:Spot on. If you did recognize that, according to you "there are thousands of factors that affect divorces", why are you then pushing your theorem as any bit effective. As for lightening up. Remember I first asked if your postulation was a joke and you said no. So can I ask again if your postulation is at least half a joke? |
dancok:Is there really a difference between igbos and Yorubas in this area? If he claims that igbos Don't bring children into suffering (as a reason for not marrying "early" )then that's funny. Why? Because there are a LOT of really economically disdvantaged igbo children all over the country. Don't you see them? Didn't people bring them into this world. And I am not talking about orphans. I shudder as to how people subconsciously prop up tribal sentiments into issues. |
RisenPhoenix:No. I certainly disagree with your point BUT your point is still vague. One must at least know what you mean by "long" to put your theorem to the test. I don't know what is responsible for divorces as most claim. But it is not hard to think of what gives any relationship (Business, Marriage etc.) a potential to last long. It's respect. Nothing more. It's also known as not taking each party for granted. Any other "age" story is anecdotal and may not be a strong enough framework to base any decisions of off. America's Hollywood provides an ample enough sample size to examine any divorce related postulations and everyone would agree that for each divorce by a party [above 40] in Hollywood there are multiple divorces by parties [below 40]. |
RisenPhoenix:Ok. You could start by giving us the median age of the ones you know. |
RisenPhoenix:Hahahaha! You didn't say what age is " too long" though and how you came about that number. I suppose you are joking though. |
blowjohn:What exactly is "outstanding"? Be specific. What individual achievement did he make that year that Messi didn't have this year. UCL top scorer. Laliga top scorer . Uefa golden boot. Etc. Specify the "outstanding". Let's know it. |
blowjohn:Really? So kindly explain how CR7 won BDO in 2013 despite winning no Major trophy - not even laliga. I am not saying he didn't deserve it, or that he did. I am putting your logic to a general test. Cr7 remains a footballing great. |
Beverlyjean:You are contradicting yourself. "Ronaldo deserved 2012 balon d'Or but it was given to Messi cos he scored 90 goals even after Ronaldo wrestled la Liga away from Messi ...Messi won nothing that yr ... The following yr Ronaldo then scored 78 goals , FIFA had no choice but to give him ahead of ribery cos they knew he deserved it the previous yr"... How can you claim that a Body(FIFA) robbed a player of an award one year, but had to give him the next year because "he deserved it". A body cannot be Meritorious in one year and Biased another — Based on your opinions alone. The awards are votes based. Democracy is not perfect. Criticise the voters (team captains/journalists) for being ignorant if you want, but it is funny to choose/pick when FIFA was biased and when they aren't. |
