softwerk:If Real Madrid REALLY has the power to "stop" him from winning it, it then means that Real Madrid also aided his winning it all these years — By the Same Logic. Right? BDO & UEFA player of the year are vote based awards. Votes = Majority Opinion. With very skewed objectivity, if any. By the way CR7 is a great player and no awards can erase that. |
hisexcellency34:Hahahaha! You had to say it, didn't ya? They could very well start solving the problems in their states too. They sure govern themselves (state) don't they? |
Olude193:Receive a fellow governor ? Do you know how many govs. Move in /out of Lagos daily? |
Joedoyle:I'm not really a fan of awards (since they are a product of a voting process) but your logic is a bit flawed. ALL awards(including those CR7 won) are given from a voting process . Now, it follows that if Messi has ever gotten an undeserved award, Ronaldo too would have, since votes were also used for Ronaldo. By the way Laliga is a Major trophy. In 2013, CR7 won no major trophy. He wasn't even Laliga's top scorer Yet he won the BDO. He was the UCl top scorer though. Remember that he won this (BDO) in the face of Neuer and Ribbery who had the UCL and a treble. Messi won exactly the same Laliga majorly, UCL top scorer Laliga top scorer and UEFA golden boot. Almost the same situation as Ronaldo then and you say he(cr7) "deserved" ALL? Voting means people's wishes (including biases) . All such awards are inherently biased. |
gloriaunobi:The best comes not in one fell swoop but almost imperceptibly. The quality of life /possessions you have now would probably been far above what more than 70%(my estimate) of Nigerians had in '97. Change/progress hardly comes suddenly. We also do no usually acknowledge little progress. This could be good though. |
Tableshake89:Or Not. Enter the Japanese. Or even our own Yorubas. The Japanese at least have taught us that one can develop while maintaining its own culture (not becoming Western). |
chloride6:I am not knowledgeable enough to know whether your claim is plausible BUT if I were in position of this Business owner I would not. Two key problems in Nigeria's pursuit for industrial growth are Lack of Integrity and Incompetence. These two are perpetuated daily across the Country. We are not thorough as a people. You might say Not all of us are like that. True. But you need a critical mass of change agents(citizens) to make progress here. Most Nigerians lack integrity and are incompetent. Everyday I try to liberate myself from this group. I don't know if I have but it is a struggle. God help us. |
AhlexOfficial:Or Perhaps we must accept the good with the bad. This is the reason why the Media tags the conduct of students with their institutions. Could the school REALLY take glory for the performance of the above intelligent student BUT not take partial responsibility for the "other" bad news a while back? No one incapable of taking responsibility deserves credits. They (school) totally absolved themselves from the other situation - saying even it took place "outside" school setting but went on to expel the parties. If you claim that you "build" the character & Excellence of students as a university (Again something I have some reservations with: the student discussed above would almost certainly be excellent - even if he didn't school here), you should also accept "some" responsibility for not "building" the bad sheep too. Babcock is Certainly a great institution in my opinion. That's not in doubt at all. |
DennisEche:He is not into Money laundering. At least not yet. Allegations are not yet Facts! Oh! |
DennisEche:Really? Then where did the dirty money get their money from, other dirty money? Then where did this other dirty money get their money? Who then created the original money that "bad" guys are stealing from. Hahahaha! Look around you. From the food you eat to the clothes you wear & services you use— All are provided by others who make money of off these. Some enough to be deemed wealthy, isn't it. The existence of bad money is EXACTLY a confirmation that good money exists. |
KingAzubuike:He could though; There are a lot of examples of Highly educated and Wealthy individuals. Some good examples are Charles Koch, James Goodnight, Min kao, David Ross, Leo schleifer, John C Martin. Even Nigeria's Prof Joe Ezigbo & Dr. ABC ojiakor. Matter of fact, Education is the most guaranteed path to earning a decent living. The odds for all other paths are very high. Not more than 0.5% (my estimate) of a population can be Rich Rockstars. Being a rockstar might also be unsustainable and perhaps Overrated. |
edon21:You are somewhat right though, But it would be Overreaching to suggest that without Nigeria South Africa would still be colonized. Some may argue that they still actually are. But when you help someone achieve a goal (By the way others also help SouthAfrica: Cuba, Tanzania etc.) Even though you contributed greatly, it's hard/too proudto suggest they'll still be in that condition without you. This is 2019! 25 yrs. On. |
Khaleell001:Hahaha. Be a little kind with the Community, it's doing us all a favour your answerers are not being paid. If I mutter some convincing "scientific" jargons as the reasons, you wouldn't be able to tell, would you? Hahaha ! Someone should explain soon. |
iammo:You keep turning this whole thing around. You are suggesting that Harmony OS - which is supposed to be a global product should run on ApK apps on the grey market ? Again isn't APK an Android creation ?(further strengthening the argument that Harmony is not an autonomous product yet - Depending on the Android Ecosystem). (Yes Android knows about APK apps not on play store ...they let them be) You seem to like Harmony a lot why aren't you using it (Or To not be Over-assuming Are you using it?) If Harmony OS is as Mainstream as you described, Why is the average smartphone user (Not YouTube Reviewers) NOT using it. Huawei EFFECTIVELY has no global Market ready OS YET. They could though but it's too soon to celebrate. |
iammo:Creating an OS is more than what you have described. Sure that's what necessary to have the OS product. But you need an Ecosystem of developers around the world to support it right? You need partnerships with Oems (smartphone)right? You need 24/7 global security and update infrastructure right? And you need to do all this for Almost "free" to challenge Google since the Android is effective ly free to Oems. You haven't also answered the question... Do you know of any globally successful Huawei release today that does not use Android? |
iammo:Creative guys but... They came up with an OS in a few days ? Who told you that? Is that even possible? Really? Please Can you name 1 globally successful Huawei smartphone Currently that doesn't use Android ? |
idesylvester:Huawei is Chinese and Chinese are not White. I get your point though, We Africans(Nigerians) Should be more Competent. |
Quorax:You could be right, but you have to be sure of your statistics. You know "Most" means at least 50.1%, right? What if she knows? Again, she's clearly intelligent enough to pick up any of those tools in 3-6 months. Probably reach advanced proficiency in under a year, she has demonstrated it already. |
amidel:Great Man. He's Certainly not a Prof (yet) though. |
Adam09:Almost nothing should justify that action. It would have to take Murder, (which doesn't seem to be the case ) to Warrant such a RASH action. Since People don't keep acids around normally, it is hard to argue that this action was not premeditated. |
blizard44:Hahahaha. True. On a side note though, The men/Women who put together the basis/Ground work for mordern day education were themselves, technically illiterate, right? Paradoxical right? I feel that Education (as we know it) Is the most effective way to standardize knowledge/skill. But there are individuals in history who would have been educated without being educated(pun intended), through self motivation and experimentation of the world. We can't all do that so we thank God for Mordern education. |
RexEmmyGee:Sure. Isn't it. Went from barely indicting the school(for not producing firsts) to then outrightly declaring it better than all the others... Except — without proving anything. It would have been effective to perhaps say; "20 ABU 2.1 graduates, graduate with More first class degrees than counterparts from other colleges". There's no Premise(at least not here) for your argument. I hear a lot of past/Present governors in Nigeria cut their teeth at ABU though. Now seeing the dearth in Leadership this Nation has faced over the decades, Do we then blame ABU for some of Nigeria's leadership woes also? Hahahaha! Listen: True Extraordinary Performances (Not just doing well) is an individual sport. No school does it for anyone. Not ABU. Not UNIBEN. No school. Even Havard tries to lure the Best/Brightest, Why? To build on their strengths(Intelligence). |
Anacondaprick:Haha! But how about Replicating the feat at Law school too? Is Law School also a Glorified secondary school? |
LegendHero:They do. but not the way you think. First of all, Banks are Big businesses and even the "Yoruba" banks are in all south eastern states. If they were totally averse to setting up shop in the east, they (Yoruba Promoters) would have settled for a Regional Commercial banking license that would allow them avoid certain regions— Yes,that exists. 2. Large Business locationing is not a guesswork game typically Certainty is the watchword — and so Lagos they go unless as in the cases of those in the pockets of Ogun, etc. It makes economic sense in terms of govt benefits or the very popular proximity to raw materials. 3. Political tension surrounding the east is not particularly persuasive to me as a non igbo to setup an industry. You probably know this. Trust me if it was a convincing business case politically + Economically, Companies (including large ones) would set up shop there. |
gaetano:Yes they do. He probably meant that the "Real Rich" of these Nations- the ones who built these Nations into powerhouses they are don't leave the Country. And don't live outside the country. I didn't say have an American base and shuttle. They mostly reside in their Countries. The Tadashi Yanais, Hans Liebherrs, Mukesh Ambanis and Other Chinese guys rarely leave their Countries. Their businesses just expand. By the Way be circumspect about the Chinese. Hardworking , no doubt. But a lot of their Businessmen are fronts for the CCP (who behind close doors have been known to exalt or destroy "Rich" errant members). |
IGBOSON1:True. Great Business people. But isn't Seplat's promoter Austin Avuru— A Deltan? |
LordAzubuike:Really? Didn't Weah Enjoy his best Season including winning the Ballon d'Or with ITALY's AC Milan? I'll accept they are racist though. But African players have achieved great things in Italy too. |
jaxxy:True. Funny enough I know of just one active player who has won At least one MVP award from ALL non club football competition he has ever played in. U-17 FIFA, Olympic, Copa and FiFa world cup. Would you know any other? ... By the way the one I know is Messi. |
mrvitalis:Sad event. Canada was not so much foreign to him again as Nigeria became later in his life. As some point virtually ALL of humanity has moved from one place to the other. Man was not made for earth, but earth for man. You MAY not be in your LGA of Origin now as we speak and for many years so. Home is where the heart is. It is probably more "ironic" to bury people in their Homeland after they've been absent from it much of their whole life— As though the land was just good enough for their remains. |
DenreleDave:It All depends on the track/Path you decide to take. Graphics design/UX/UI? Data Analysis/Engineer ing? Web Development? Data Science/ Machine Learning? Database Administration? Game Development? All these are paths (that sometimes overlap). The more focused(path specific) you are, the more effective your learning would be. Some good resources include; Youtube- Derek banas, freecodecamp etc. Udemy.com Linkedin learning.com Cognitiveclass.ai Tutorialspoint Etc. Follow blogs(Google) for areas you need specific understanding while going through your path. Learn like you'll be examined alone(know enough about your path). Cheers. |
SarkinYarki:I am totally NOT for any politics. But saying "there is no way any bank or TELCO can create any charge without express approval of the CBN and NCC" is quite naive. In this case I don't know if such instructions were given by the regulators but Nigerian Banks and Telcos have been known to pilfer from customers. Where do you think all Complaints of undue charges from banks and undue charges by telcos of customers come from. 3 months ago I personally intervened in the undue charge of over N10000 from my boss— by a Nigerian bank — which was supposed to be an error. Cheers. |
