The mistake was made on my study permit application form, on the questionnaire I stated it's 1.5 years. (Typed not hand written) it is also stated on the admission letter

Thanks
I don't think you should worry about that. We have cases where IRCC request for new offer letters but in the application form submitted, it was the previous start and end dates written. So it is clearly the offer letter that guide them.

Don't you think it will be seen as a clear act of denying especially when it is written in ink in the questionnaire... Hmm and the Academic letter says different
Let's hope for the best
#onelove
Certainly not a reason for refusal for any of the reasons you stated. The offer letter is the guide and any information on it will will guide officers. Eg. A case where no end date is stated but the study permit is issued for 2 years for a program with max duration of 2 years. This tells they know how their system work irrespective of what is filled by the applicant as start and end date. Besides,i have never seen or heard of a refusal based on discrepancies in start and end dates of program.

If they need clarification, they most likely will contact the school for further information regarding exacts as this will guide IRCC on the length of issuance of the study permit as well as the TRV. They have cooperation with the DLI because they set the standard for them to follow regarding information(s) to be displayed on each offer letter.

Good day guys and ladies, please I just noticed a mistake on my student permit application.

Duration of expected study I filled 3 years instead of a year and a half. There was a mistake in my initial admission letter I forgot to correct it when I got the correct admission letter. Will be application be refused or delayed for that reason?

I stated it's a year and a half on my sop and study permit questionnaire.

I submitted my application may 25

Thanks
No, it will not be refused for that reason. If there is any need of clarification, your offer letter will give necessary information or better still, they can contact your school directly for further clarification.

Hello to all GURUS in the house. I have a question. I submitted my application online on the 9th of june and i a about going for biometrics. My question is
1. Do i need to provide birth certificates of my siblings? Most of them have lost theirs.
2. Will i need to fill the study permit questionaire ?? I think only paper applicants are required to fill that.

PLEASE I NEED ANSWERS. THANK YOU ALL
You only need to go and give your biometrics. Since you submitted already, u don need to give additional document(s) untill it is requested.

Good afternoon gurus in the house, I need your advice on the university I can apply to for two years Master in Organizational Leadership. I have degree in Library and Information Studies and Master in Managerial Psychology....

I await your prompt reply.

Thanks.
One thing you may need to know is that it is one thing to get admitted into your preferred program and another to get a study permit for that program.

I see there is disparity in your academic qualifications and what you intend to seek admission. In what so ever decision you eventually take, endeavour to gain admission in a program that reflect a need( more skills/knowledge) in your CURRENT activity(work, study, research). This way, you will not have so much hurdles to cross convincing a visa officer that the program in which you seek a study permit is right for you and will help your career/activity significantly and progressively.

Since you did not use a company or agent, your answer to a question of using a representative should be NO.

Just curious... is it
necessary to do another biometrics for a reapplication?
Every application will be treated like a fresh application be it new or reapplication. So yes, they will take your biometrics again.

I don't know how to thank you, But I know you have always been helpful as immediately I saw my mentions, something in my just tell me it's a response from you and lo it is... May God reward you bro. Thank you very much,we appreciate you... But he just submitted 2weeks ago, How come it's so fast?
Well, application processing are at different stages. It actually starts the moment IRCC recieves the application and it is entered into their system.(for paper route)

So it's normal. His information wasn't complete that's why he was asked to provide the form. It will then move to another stage if it hasn't already.

Hopefully, things turn out well in the end.

Regards bro.

Good day Austinpee.
I guess my issue perhaps might be close to the above problem. Presently am a graduate of university of Nigeria nsukka ,business management. I have also managed a hotel and have a vast ict knowledge as i was network administrator and hardware engineer for over 3 years. But then I applied for an undergraduate course in Canada with admission offered to me already. But reading through this it feels my application for study permit will be denied since i have a degree in Nigeria already. Presently I have not applied for the study permit but my aim is to avoid any reasons for visa denials. Please advise on what's best to do regarding the application. Thanks.
I believe you have been sufficiently answered. You need to justify with adequate reason why you need another undergraduate degree.

My bro just checked his email and behold a message from CIC telling him to fill a 'Use of Representative Form'. He submitted June 1,does that imply that his application is being processed already and on the way to approval?
No, it doesn't mean an approval is imminent. It only implies that he need to declare that a 3rd party(agent, friend, etc)handled or is helping with his application. Apparently, he did not state that earlier.

And Yes, his application is being processed.

M.eng chemical engineering. His first degree is also in chemical eng
Now here you have the issue!

Undergraduate-Chemical engineering

Work experience/current activity - bank

Proposed program-Chemical engineering.

Like we often mention here, the proposed program MUST reflect addition to CURRENT activity. In his case, he hasn't been working as a chemical engineer but in a financial institution. The clearly is no need for a master degree in chemical engineering as 4 years is good enough to have a career in the banking industry.

If he finished his degree in chemical engineering recently, he probably would have had a good chance of an approval as it is an advancement of what he studied academically and his purpose would be considered a pure academic exercise.

Your friend's profile demands a PROFESSIONAL advancement with his intended program and not his undergraduate study. It will clearly show that a master degree will add to his current career and this also will show career progression and advancement. It is convincing this way that he is a genuine student.

So it's either he goes for a program in his role in the bank or show other achievements(research, journals, conferences etc) in chemical engineering since he long left school that will show that a master in chemical engineering is going to significantly help him moving forward in his current endeavour.

Untill he really shows he needs the master of chemical engineering, i'm afraid, he may likely still get refused for purpose of visit if he apply with the master of chemical engineering admission.

Any application that have exceed 7 months definitely there is a problem or else you should contact cic through email
Actually, he mentioned that his application is a peculiar one and that he has been communicating with the embassy and also, additional documents were requested.

So there is no problem whatsoever with the length of 7 months. This is just a rare and perculiar case. Most applications do not take this long. Just a few exceptions.

Hello House,

For all those in Canada what does "mid summer" mean? My funding letter is to come out by Mid Summer and I suspect CIC will request for it. Please if I applied for my Study Permit with the offer letter issued to me by my department in UWO - which categorically stated that I am on funding to the tune of so so so and so and that my official Annual Funding Breakdown letter will be issued by Mid summer, Can that be accepted as my funding letter by CIC?

Ayoola03; Markab; Austinepee; Maizude
Just like @Ayoola03 have stated, You have shown evidence in the funding letter you submited.

The main thing is that the amount of the funding was stated and covers IRCC requirements which is the MOST important.

Btw, 'Mid summer' is a period mainly observed by residents of quebec and some european countries Marking the ancient middle of the summer period and the astronomical beginning of Summer.

Usually from june 19th-june 25th.

Please for the online app is IMM 5257 compulsory?
It is not. You do not have to apply seperately for a temporary visa to travel, once your study permit is approved, a visa foil will also be issued.

As you can see on your dashboard, it is an optional requirement. Nigerians do not need to provide it.

Applying once in Canada for them to be approved to stay more than six months will require you to leave Canada and return. In essence, your children will need a visa. I say do it right now in Nigeria to prevent unnecessary complications. You have already told cic you are taking the children along with you, so why not proceed based on that premise and apply for visa for them right now.
They would not have to leave and return to canada should she apply to extend or change their status while in canada. Main thing is that it is done 30 days before the expiration of the 180 days. Their visa application will be subject to her being the principal applicant on a study permit and her kids dependents.

All the same, which ever decison @Nogen takes, each option is advisable.

yes u can go with ur children and even ur husband , but make sure u have enough fund as the normal avarice of CAD10K will increase depending on the number of people accompanying u to Canada. the only reason people are advised to leave their gaily member back I'm naija is just to serve as home tie. try also to explain in details why u want to take ur children to canada and also let the vo know that their presence won't affect ur studies (that u intend getting a nanny as soon as u get to Canada so she will be with them whenever u have classes). I hope I have helped a bit?
I agree with you. Also @Nogen , you can go with your kids without a need to apply for visa for them since they are american citizens. However, if they will be with you throughout the duration of your study, you will have to apply for a visa or change their status when you get to canada as american citizens can visit canada for not more than 180days.
Any day more than this duration will require a valid visa for them.

The consultant you are using should be able to guide you on the processing time. You are paying for the entire service. However, there are alot of stages involved in processing application and no one can say if it will be late on not. So the earlier you send in your application, the better. Your application could be processed and a decision made before 2nd of sept. You just have to send it in and be hopefull.

The event of yesterday and recent days has shown that aside all the information, help and suggestions we get here, not everybody come here for these purposes. we MUST collectively protect this forum, it's integrity and ensure the aim is NEVER defeated.

It may not matter to us now but someday, somebody that we know or a love one might get hurt if we do not stand against any unscrupulous activity here atleast to protect a resourceful place like this that has/is helping people achieve whatsoever the desired/desiring.

I must commend @Justwise for always tracing and taking action to such issues just to keep this forum going. I salute you baba.

To everyone that have stood to maintain the intergrity of this place, i salute you too. One thing i personally have taken from forums like this is that it will always go beyond here. Some people will meet people that will make a difference in their lives even years after this place is no more. While we all have the opportunity to contribute, suggest, get useful information and get help we need at each time, do NOT drop comments, posts and talk about things that years later you would be disappointed reading. The internet always have a way to throw back to us what we never thought still exist, it's archive is the strongest and always recycled.

Do , say and post things that years from now, you can still look back to and be glad you had the priveledge to help somebody and be a blessing in someone's life and make a positive difference. Afterall, this is one of the major reason of our existence here on earth.I know a person or two may not see it this way and it is quite unfortunate.

It's of no good to abuse each chance we get to do this. We may never have it again and on such a platform as this.

I truly hope we do the right thing and know that someday, somethings will matter no more!

I greet una.
