We take the mercy of Allah for granted way tooo many times. I was thinking about this thread and I asked myself, For those women who are married or have had intercourse with a man, barring societal judgement aside (also remove religion) , would you seriously desire more than one partner?? Could you handle more than one husband ![]() I am sure that there are women that would say yes but they will be a minority. Contrast this with asking men the same question and the people who desire more than one partner would be in the majority. Men and women are not built the same way. We are different in so many ways that you do not even need religion to reveal this. Trying to make us the same is tantamount to requesting a male organ for the female and every other apparatus. Please note that this post is not about equality, equity or any thing in that line. It is just about our very nature. We are not the same and no amount of theories and conjectures will change that. So the One who created us all knows this and made provisions for us. Understanding of course comes only with knowledge and reflection which is wisdom. If your man is trying to flout the Islamic law, you can call him out on it and even if you are unable to change his mind, if he truly fears Allah, his conscience could at least redirect him. May Allah grow us in good deeds, Amin |
mazaje: Yes. . . .You need a thorough course in history. Try not to post unless you have some understanding of what you are talking about. |
How could you say this " People like Yerima seem like the perfect ones, with beard, short trousers, up-to four wives and their own Aishas". > Was this particular part of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) the highlight of his life? We say we are muslims but we are judging the deen by the action of a few who use the book to fulfil their own desires. > > Did Yerima marry a widow, older than him, as his first wife? The answer is "NO". Therefore, the bolded is quite unfortunate. > > Allah did not tell the muslim man to marry four wives. It is not an injunction but it is also allowed. The Book covers for times of peace and times of war. We have all struggled with our deen every now and then but May Allah ease our paths and expand our understanding. > > I have seen polygamous homes that one could describe as perfect and monogamous ones that are a horror show and vice versa. The people practicing either would be a major factor in the success or otherwise of any marriage. > |
chakula: Bros tell me if not them who else can assist with the interpretation?Learn Quran Arabic for the best understanding. But still recite the Quran. OP pls change the title of your thread. It is very good to encourage muslims to learn the meanings of the Quran but very wrong to suggest that muslims stop reciting if they do not know the meaning |
Your post would have better credibility if it lacked the anti muslim and anti Hausa/anti yoruba overtones. Totally unnecessary to pass the message across. |
Mubby4luv: If truely u re or were a Muslim as u claimed then I Ve great pity for u. Islam doesn't need u, U need Islam for Allah is sufficient for the Belivers. Go to Hell.Vanunu is neither a muslim nor is he a Yoruba. Whatever his religious creed id, he is a liar and he fooled the haters of Islam into believing that he stopped being a muslim because of the Kenyan incident. Again, as a muslim, I find it sad and disheartening that inoocent people suffer in the time of crisis as fighting armies no longer follow the rules of warfare. And I do not know the Somali side of the story but I empathise with innocent people who suffered losses on both sides of the crisis. For those who claim that muslims have not condemned these acts, would it be appropriate to call you liars because of your religion, whatever it may be or to just hope that you can take time to purge your heart of hatred against Islam? And be honest? |
It is sad that innocent people have suffered in this heinous act. We muslims do not support the harm done to innocent people by muslims or non muslims. For those wishing ill on Islam and all muslims, it is a shame that you cannot see what Islam preaches versus what some people who are muslims do. Wishing all muslims dead is not any better than what these people have done. The hatred in your hearts is just a step away from a terror act. May the good Lord comfort those who have suffered losses on both sides of the crisis, amen. |
This is animal cruelty. Rams are to be slaughtered with dignity, swiftly without prolonging their agony. To be used for their hide or meat. Not to be used in a fight. Islam does not support this and I am appalled that majority of the responders here think it is okay. |
Could you please check this VIN for me? 1FMZU74KX4ZB08770 Thanks so much |
druid06: It seems Allah was deaf to her prayers about protecting her daughter yet some would kill, destroy and do some unmentionable deeds for HIM. Isn't it ironic and pathetic? Fighting for a deity who doesn't give a hoot about you, who wants you to destroy and kill innocent lives because to him they're infidels. People stop putting your hands in false GODS and make your destiny by your own hands.May Allah have mercy on you! |
Virus777: Some people believe it's a paranormal activity, the effect of an evil force (witch, evil spirit) pressing down on you. Some have died while struggling against the force. Medical science calls it sleep paralysis. It happens mostly when you sleep facing up. If it persists, learn to sleep on your sides or on your belly.Did the people that died from this phenomenon tell you about it? If yes, was it before or after? @OP, iBRB |
If you live in a developed world and you don't learn, I don't know if you everwill. If your child is good enough, they will beg, I say/write BEG him or her to represent a country. You will not have to pay for anything. Now if the reverse is the case, Naija mentality takes over and you don't stop to think "wait a min, why am I paying out all these mullah?" Where better to showcase your skills than the developed world? Anyway, sorry to Mama chi |
I am not surprised at the number of people who said they collect the food, then throw it into the bin. If you did that because you claim that you are christians, don't you think that Jesus (as) would have preferred that you NOT collect the food in the first place? A lot of you are idolators claiming to be christians. You claim to worship God but do not actually take a pause to worship God. The torment of hell is worst for the hypocrites and it is real. No one will suffer for the sin of another. Ir is completelyillogical and ungodly. You are afraid of many things but God is not one of them. SMH |
Ziggyzito: isn't it the same oprah Winfrey who called Nigerians rogues?? She could set herself ablaze for all I care..NO, she did not call Nigerians rogues. Get your facts straight. this is 2013. |
maclatunji: Salam Alaykum, hope you are doing great.Alhamdulillah. |
Smile4ever: Hi I am new to Islam I took my Shahada 4 months ago. It took me some time before my decision and when I coverted from Christianity to Islam I was ready to wear my Hijab and Abaya. My family is very Christian and since they have found out have started to exclude me from the family. I do not have friends and rely on my family to be my friends. I live in an area where there are only a few other Muslims and we have no Mosque close by. I am very lonely but find comfort in my prayer and in my Quran thanks to a mosque 2 hrs from here I have these things. I love my family very much and dont want to lose them but I will not change how I feel about Islam for them. Any ideas on how I can help them to understand?Salam alaykum, sister and congratulations. I would like to be your friend for the pleasure of Allah. Ayinba@yahoo.com. I may be able to support your progress, insha Allah. Being patient is key and I am sure that your success is sure. |
This happened in 2011. I do not know how much coverage it got then, however a search fot this news items today brings up articles from 2011. |
This is a hundred steps backward! Who is afraid of the hijab? LASG hmmnn! You have only usurped the rights of the citizen who happens to be a muslim. Does the constitution not guarantee freedom of religio? |
I have never seen one supporter say half "Amen" to that prayer. Maybe, it's still 40 laptops! |
"ori mi ye o ja a a a, ja fun mi" got goosebumps listening to this on NPR the other day. Both men sang great songs! |
What are the efforts of the groups below NASFAT, MICA, CRITERION, ANSAR UD DEEN ETC ETC! A well coordinated effort should clarify what the constitution says, and enforce the law against people in authority who abuse the weak. And what about the human rights activists? Or because it is hijab today, it does not require action on their part? SMH |
probsolver: @maclatunji, the casee is already in courtIf it is in court, then please stop subjecting the MSS and the victimised students to the miscreant arms of government unless of course, they are also the judge, jury. And executioner. What a sick country! |
What an effontery for the commissioner of education to ask the girl to take off her hijab! We have a lot of sick unqualified people holding offices in Nigeria, muslims and otherwise. You cannot practice Islam freely in Nigeria and it is not entirely the fault of non muslims. It is the fault of "sso called muslims" The woman (minister) has only further abused the girl in hijab. There is little hope for, justice here if the one who should look into the case is the abuser. |
AjanleKoko: One cannot help but wonder why Alams is so important to the US government. We, Nigerians actually care about Alams. He was tried in a foreign country so he brought us National shame so to speak. Thank you, Mr Gates for making such a loud statement with your action. |
awatefe: have used shiptoafrika got my products in 6 days, whats ur contact so i refer u to a staff thereYou did not say it cost about $10 per pound?..? |
deols: Surprised? I am as wellWa alaykum salaam. |
aribisala0: The Jews claim such a person is a Jew and the christians claim he is Christian. But you Ignore logic and revert to dogma. The quran is using LOGIC to say Abraham was Not a Jew BECAUSE he died before the Torah .He also died before the Quran so that same LOGIC applies otherwise we are wasting time. You surrender to Allah, when you believe in Him, His signs, all His Prophets making no distinction between them. They all came with the same message; worship Allah, your Creator and do not associate partners with Him. Simply put, answer to your question is Yes. Unless you want to show me how you can submit to the will of Allah and deny the prophethood of Mohammed(pbuh) |
Afam4eva: But i hope you know impressions are not always what they seem. Abubakar still remains an Arabic name and not a Muslim name.Seriously dude! Make up your mind. |
aribisala0: I think you need to distinguish between Hanif and Muslim. Therein lies the beauty of Al-Quran. The one who surrender (to Allah) and is not one of the idolaters is a MUSLIM! Thanks |
aribisala0: Suleiman,Noah,Ibrahim,Isaac,Yaqub,IbrahimThe Prophets that you named, (pbut) were all muslims. So yes, those are muslim names, very muslim names, in fact, you forgot to add Isa and Maryam. The fact that they are Arab or not Arab names does not change the fact that they are muslim names. |
