wescoboy:I don't think so. Remember that these herdsmen are not the owners of the cattle, they're just rearing the cattle for the real owners who are mostly wealthy northerners. The money from the cows does not go to the herdsmen. I believe this violence is being coordinated from somewhere. Some people are providing them with arms and ammunition as well as training to carry out these attacks. |
Islie:The previous administration gave its ministers 20 million naira per annum for accommodation. Buhari gives his ministers only 4 million naira. |
This is a ridiculous idea. This is not the solution at all. It will only make their herds grow larger and as a result they will roam about for longer periods and consume more cultivated produce on private lands. The solution is simply effective police action and in the absence of that then sustained vigilante action will have to be put in place by the affected communities. |
wizkidblogger:You are assuming that because she is a Pampers ambassador she must be getting free diapers from them. But that assumption may not be true. Her contract with them may not include any free diapers at all. |
Yes they have a constitutional right to go anywhere they want to in Nigeria but their cows do not. Animals have no constitutional rights and if the cows continue to graze on private farmlands then their movements can be legally restricted and enforced. |
For the first time Gov. Ayo Fayose has sincerely impressed me. May God bless you sir for honouring these fallen medical heroes. |
amiskurie:There were many international journalists on ground during the Biafran war. And there are quite a number in the north-east presently covering the Boko Haram conflict. I have to agree with those criticizing the premise of your question. Based on the nature of this kind of attack and the location I don't think it's reasonable to be asking for pictures. |
This is the best solution I've seen suggested so far for the Fulani herdsmen debacle. They should give them the whole of Sambisa forest and if that's not enough they can buy up some nearby pieces of land. But nomadic grazing of cattle is no longer a feasible option in this country. It has to end as soon as possible. |
Pidggin:The change is that GEJ and his band of thieves are no longer in power. As far as I'm concerned that's enough change for me. |
BiafranJesus:Scared of what? Biafra? Lol. |
HammerTheirPapa:You sound much more like an open bigot than any Fulani person I've ever heard. The hatred you're crying about is actually coming from you and not from anyone else. You need to have a rethink about your position my friend. |
popez:Tunde Bakare said he was given $50,000 as transport fare when he went to see Jonathan but he turned it down. |
dunkem21:Yeah but what does he do for a living to get the $3m? Apart from playing politics. |
Flexherbal:How can the Federal government monitor the process? First of all that's against the tenets of federalism. States are supposed to do the right thing and to have their own monitoring mechanism that's not the job of the FG. Secondly it's logistically impossible for the FG to monitor each of the states and how they disburse funds in real time. |
ournaijablog:You never can tell though. Things might have changed significantly by then. |
Elections have been over for more than a year now. You'll most likely hear it again in 2019. Stay tuned. |
scholes0:OK that's great. We're on the same page. |
scholes0:Should you be asking about population or the number of cars on the roads? |
oilsuop:You're not Yoruba and you need to grow up. You don't have to belong to a particular tribe before you can criticize something you see them doing that is wrong. Have some self respect my friend. |
oilsuop:What a petulant child. Pretending to be Yoruba so that you can abuse Yoruba people on a faceless forum. Get a life! |
Fayose is by far the worst governor in Nigeria right now. Big mouth and empty skull. If you cannot think of a better way to help your people other than to dash them rice and chicken change then you have no business being a leader. |
Yorubas were the first to speak out against this grazing bill. Also, Governor Mimiko of Ondo state is probably the most prominent public voice agitating against the adoption of the bill. I don't know what this cretinous OP is trying to prove but he or she is ignoring reality and common sense by suggesting that Yorubas are for the bill. No one individual can ever be authorized to speak on behalf of the entire Yoruba tribe. We are too big for all that self-aggrandizing nonsense. |
joborskill:You are a joker. And you obviously do not understand the issues involved here at all. For you this is primarily a tribal issue, that is why your write up focuses on Fulani, Igbo and the pointless fact that you are a Yoruba. The federal government does not own all the land in Nigeria, that is simply not true. Most of the land in Nigeria is owned by private entities, the rest is mainly owned by state governments. There is no way the grazing bill should give power to the federal government to take people's land by force and pay them whatever it deems fit to be adequate compensation. That is unjust. Apart from the injustice of taking land by force, I have no issues with establishing designated grazing areas for the Fulani nomads and their cattle. However, not one kobo should be paid by the government at any level for this purpose. Cattle rearing is a private business, they should negotiate with the owners of the land and pay the fees for using the land out of their own pocket. |

Gext:But it was your party the PDP that created Saraki in the first instance. |
RevDesm0ndJuju:That $30bn figure was made up by the OP and only a donkey or a wailer would believe that out of 45bn proposed for the whole of Africa, Nigeria alone would take 30bn. This need to hate Buhari and everything he stands for cannot do you any good. |
Florblu:Sorry but it's not the job of a man to give you comfort and fulfillment. You have to do it yourself. The world has changed my dear. |
odikimi:Wetin concern me with Jonathan's immediate family? Apart from Jonathan himself and his wife who had as much of a public profile as he did if not more, I have never made any statements about any member of Jonathan's family. They are private citizens and it is completely wrong to go after them. They should be left alone to enjoy their lives. |
Tellemall:Ok fine let's assume you're right. Her father the VP is a thief and she knows about it. What is her own responsibility in the matter? Should she report him to EFCC or what? She shouldn't post pics on Instagram again forever? She should not enjoy her life again? She should just lay down and die? Abeg free the girl and face the politicians that you voted for. She has never asked for anyone's votes in her young life. |
Tellemall:Seriously? You actually believe that a child always knows everything their parents are up to? I think it's obvious that you're the ridiculous one. |
slyfoxxjoe:She doesn't know anything about such things and she doesn't have to. She's just a young girl and a private citizen. The VP has his own twitter account. The troll should head over there to ask any questions he or she wants to ask. |
