According to reports from local radio, election materials have been seized at Ward 4 and Ward 12 of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State amidst heavy shooting. Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi’s Ubima Community is in Ward 4. Report has it that the brouhaha started just after the Minister left the Polling Unit where he cast his vote. When asked to confirm and shed more light on the incident, an aide to the Minister responded, “I just got that”. Mr Amaechi is not the only prominent politician from the area. Celestine Omehia, a former Governor and PDP leader, is also from there. Source: https://www.thenewsplot.com/2019/02/23/election-materials-seized-in-rivers-state-amidst-heavy-shooting/

hollolade:Based on when it was released for previous sets, it can come at any time. For DSSC 25, after the screening at about this same period last year, the final list was not released until May this year. It will be wise to have something doing while waiting, rather than just waiting indefinitely. |

And Covenant University is still ranked the best University in Nigeria. Not just the best Private University, but the overall best! |
OluwabuqqyYOLO:I schooled there. Empty land everywhere. The development in that State is nowhere close to its size. That State should have been divided into about three. |
How big exactly is your State of origin and State of residence? How does it stack compared to other States in Nigeria? Here is a list of the 10 largest States by land mass in Nigeria. This is not directly related to population though. 10. Kebbi State At number 10 is Kebbi State. Founded in August 1991, the Land of Equity as it is nicknamed has 4 emirates council, 21 Local Government Areas (LGA), and 35 districts. Its total area is 36,800km2 (14,200 sq mi) and its capital is Birnin Kebbi. 9. Kwara State The ninth largest state is Kwara State. It was created on May 1967, and it is commonly referred to as the Middle Belt. Its slogan is the State of Harmony and it has a total area of 36,825 km2 (14,218 sq mi). 8. Adamawa State State and capital, Abia Umuahia, Adamawa Yola. Reciting that rhyme was my first time hearing of the state. Now that I’m older, I can say it is a very beautiful state, hence the nickname Land of Beauty. It has a total area of 36,917 km2 (14,254 sq mi). Did you know that the name of the state was coined from its founder, Modibo Adama, who founded the state?. 7. Zamfara State The “Home of Agricultural Products” takes the 7th spot on the list. Its capital is Gusau and it was in October 1996. Zamfara was the first state in Nigeria to introduce Sharia law during the regime of Ahmad Sani Yerima, the former Governor of the state. Islam is the predominant religion in the state, although Christianity has many worshippers. It’s land mass is 39,762 km2 (15,352 sq mi). 6. Yobe State Damaturu is the capital of Yobe State and Yobe by landmass is the sixth largest state in Nigeria. Dubbed the Young state because it is 27 years old. Also because it shares the same slogan as a popular transport company “The Young Shall Grow”. It has 17 LGAs and has an area of 45,502 km2(17,568 sq mi). 5. Bauchi State Bauchi is the pearl of tourism, and rightly so because the state is blessed with sites like the Yankari National Park, Wikki Warm Springs, Tafawa Balewa’s Tomb to mention a few. It was formed in 1976 but became a distinct state in 1996. Bauchi has a land mass of 49,119 km2(18,965 sq mi). 4. Kaduna State Kaduna’s slogan is The Center of Learning, which is weird for me because I always thought it was Ekiti. Oh well. It is among the oldest states in Nigeria (created in 1967), has 23 LGAs and has an area of 46,053 km2(17,781 sq mi). 3. Taraba State Taraba has the best (and funniest) Capital name to me; Jalingo. It just cracks me up. But do not be fooled, Taraba is the embodiment of agricultural beauty in Nigeria. Little wonder it is called Nature’s Gift to the Nation, the scenery is breathtaking. It was created in August 1991 and has a total area of 54,473 km2(21,032 sq mi). 2. Borno State In second place is Borno State nicknamed the Home of Peace – what a sad irony. Created on the 3rd of February, 1976, it consists of 27 LGAs. Islam is the main religion with few clusters of Christianity, Sharia is valid in the entire state. It has a landmass of 57,799 km2(22,316 sq mi). 1. Niger State The award of The Biggest State in Nigeria by Landmass goes to * drumroll * Niger State!. Home to the tranquil Gurara Falls, it was named after the River Niger – go figure. It is the location of the famous Kainji and Shiroro Dam, hence the nickname The Power State. It consists of 25 LGAs and has a landmass of a whopping 76,363 km2(29,484 sq mi). Source: https://www.nigerianindex.com/top-10-largest-states-in-nigeria-by-land-mass/

Real Estate is officially defined as property consisting of land and the buildings on it, along with its natural resources such as crops, minerals or water (Wikipedia). In simple terms, Real Estate is property such as buildings or housing in general. Real Estate Business, however, is the selling, buying, leasing, renting of property. Going by the definition, you would think it is an easy business to venture into. But I want to tell you, that Yes, it really is simple to venture into provided you are well equipped with what it takes to thrive in the industry. And as usual, I’m the plug for the tips and steps you need to take before calling yourself a Real Estate Businessman or Businesswoman. Walk with me. Research: This is the first and most important step, carry out an intensive and extensive research. You have to know everything about the sector: how it works, who knows who and what, who needs what, the Dos and Don’ts, target market, your to-be competitors, what they do and who their clients are. You can call it a reconnaissance survey. Knowing all these will give you a picture, albeit mental of the waters you are about to step into. Write a Business Plan: For everything in life, there is a procedure. If you want to be literate, you go to school. If you want to get married, you start dating. And if you want to start a business, you must have a written plan, this can never be overemphasized. In it should be your source of funds, business goals (mission and vision statements), the units and every other information needed to kick off your business. It is advisable that you hire a professional to help draft it for you. Pro-Tip: Did you know that you can attract investors and/or partners just by having a well-written plan? Now you know how important it is. Go Legal: This is a no brained for a business, I believe. You have to be known and approved by the appropriate bodies of the government in order to start any business, Real Estate is not an exemption. You register with the CAC – Corporate Affairs Commission, and get certified to operate as a business. There are also associations and agencies that regulate real estate operations in Nigeria. For example, REDAN – Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria. Imagine getting shut down because your documents and permits are Fake, in a Real Estate business… the irony. Get an Office Space: While some businesses can thrive by having a virtual office, this one can’t, it can’t. You can’t run a Real Estate business without having a real Estate, you will not be taken serious. Your office space must portray what your business is about: location, class, spaciousness, and beauty. This will give your prospective customers a sense of security and trust in you and your company. Have a strong team around you: No man is an island and a group is only as strong as its weakest link. This emphasizes why you need a strong team around you. From Administration to the HR, Marketing, and field staff, they all have to buy into your dream and vision and they must be well seasoned in their fields to effectively run a well-oiled machine. Who you hire will determine if you will go higher (excuse the cheeriness). Buy some Real Estate!: After completing the above-listed steps, it’s time to get busy. Start small if you will, or go big (or go home). You can start by “Land Flipping” – where you buy land and resell quickly to make profit. You can also buy a property and lease it out, while you get paid monthly or annually while the property still appreciates, this is called Leasing. Then the most lucrative is Property Development. You just acquire properties in good locations, develop it into exquisite apartments, structures etc and sell at way higher price than you got the property for. People make as high as 500% gain in this type of business. Imagine this in millions or billions. Don’t hide from the world: What is a delicious meal if it isn’t eaten?, fine cloth if not worn?, good business if it is not seen?. In this social media era, everyone around the world should be able to access you and your business by the click of a button, four clicks at most. Funds should go into advertisement, social media, website development, and networking. After all, money begets money. People have many ways they spend their holidays, some relax with the family at home, some party and some love to travel. If you love to travel, you are very much in my click and as an early holiday gift, I’ve got you a very good pro tip; 10 places you can visit in Nigeria. Yeah yeah, I know the country is currently seen as unsafe, and recently the internet has been flooded with pictures of Santorini, The Palawan, and Bali… but I have good news for you. You don’t have to go that far to experience the beauty of nature and have a good time; you can do that right here, in Nigeria. I don’t have a top 10 per se, I only have a top 1. So I’ll give you the load down of the other sites I find fascinating. Follow me. 10. Yankari National Park https://i1.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/10.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 First, let me tell you about Yankari National Park (Yankari Games Reserve). Initially created as a game reserve, this park located in the heartland of the West African savanna is a very popular tourist spot in Nigeria. In a country that’s underperforming in tourism and wildlife preservation, this park still holds its own as it has one of the largest elephant herds in West Africa. It is a potluck of wildlife as there are warthogs, buffaloes, lions and a very diverse species of birds. If you are a lover of nature and animals, this park should definitely be on one of your top destinations this holiday season. 9. Okomu National Park https://i2.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/9.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 Next is Okomu National Park, also known as the Okomu Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located in the beautiful state of Edo, Benin city to be more precise. What I love about this place is that it is like a southern Yankari national park. As you will also find the tranquil nature of the park and wildlife really soothing. The park is surrounded on all cardinal points by mangrove swamp forest and the Forest-Savanna. Be sure to be intrigued by the bush baby, porcupines, antelopes, amongst other rare life forms. 8. Kajuru Castle https://i2.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/8.jpg?resize=300%2C168&ssl=1 Kajuru Castle is a gem hidden in the beautiful state of Kaduna, in Northern Nigeria. Everything about this place screams European Royalty, styled with a German bias with a hall with suits of armor. You can not miss the live crocodile “music video” vibe. Then the rooms! The rooms!! Dungeon style rooms with a tower guarded by “dragons”, yes actual dragons. The most attractive part of the facility is the open courtyard with a magnificent large swimming pool and pool chairs, plus a barbeque area complete with an outdoor oven. You really have to go there. 7. Ngwo Pine Forest https://i2.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/7.jpg?resize=300%2C170&ssl=1 For this one, we will be going to the state of Enugu. Once you think Enugu, the first thing that comes to mind is the Ngwo Pine Forest located in the Ngwo community. The multiple arrays of pines with the umbrella-like shield it provides, provides a perfect excuse to travel. But it is very wise to visit and tour the site in clusters, as being a lone wolf isn’t really safe. From camping to partying to even photography and videography sessions, Ngwo Pine Forest really, really is a site. 6. Obudu Mountain Resort https://i1.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/6.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 This one is sort of a national treasure. Obudu Mountain Resort, a resort of resorts. It is for everyone; groups, individuals, families and loners etc etc. It is in Cross River state (for those that haven’t heard about it), and is very close to the border between Nigeria and Cameroon. An eye catcher is the cable car network, a must try for you. If you love hiking and mountain climbing and you love the smell of undiluted air, pack your boots, binoculars, and camera because this is one trip you won’t forget in a hurry. 5. Awhum Waterfall Earlier, I said when you think Enugu the first thing that comes to mind is the Ngwo Pine Forest… I wasn’t being entirely truthful. The first thing you think is actually the Awhum Waterfall. The first waterfall intrudes the cave at about 100m from the entrance, while the second and biggest cascade stands at the far end of the cave. Excited? So am I. Did you know that it has a 300 meter long wall made of Limestone? As a geologist, I find this extremely interesting and that’s why. Wanna know when you’re there? You’ll see a statue of the Virgin Mary above and beneath the caves. 4. The New Afrika Shrine This spot is dedicated to, in my opinion, the greatest Nigerian artiste of all time – Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Although, his original shrine was burnt to the ground, The New Afrika Shrine was built to honor his memory. If you are a fan of legendary “Abamieda“, you definitely have to come pay your respects and celebrate the G.O.A.T. The New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja is a place to be for total entertainment on Lagos mainland. Run by Femi Kuti (Fela Kuti’s son), this is a great rock temple in Lagos city and the best night to go there is Sunday. You can also smoke if you want to … so go. 3. The Osun-Osogbo Grove The Osun-Oshogbo grove is a wonderful cultural site. It is a place of worship, dedicated to a goddess, and has a sacred forest, it doesn’t get more traditional than this. Walking around, you will see sculptures and artworks in honor of Osun the goddess and other Yoruba deities. There is this feeling of deep connection to everything you get when there, I know this because I’ve been there. I can’t explain the feeling, you have to experience it yourself. 2. Nok Culture and Art The, My penultimate favorite site is in somewhere called Jaba LGA in Kaduna. Ignore the underdevelopment of the village, Nok Art is a masterful culture. It has a museum where you see terra-cotta carvings and antiquities. If you want to get a feel of how Nigeria was pre-colonialism, Nok will give you a glimpse into that realm, it really is that surreal. This is certainly for tourists with a huge sense of culture, and not the culture vultures. 1. The Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary Remember I said I have only one Top site, well… alto low me introduce you to The Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary. This one hits home, literally, because it is home for me having been there a lot of times. Oh, It is located at Cross River state. Everything about the place is euphoric, it is home to a large host of primates including gorillas and chimpanzees, and a bucketload of wildlife. It is the perfect place to be this holiday season. Accommodation there is cheap and you get to see other people hungry for adventure and together you form life-long experiences and relationships. That is the miracle of Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary. More photos here: https://www.nigerianindex.com/top-tourist-attractions-in-nigeria/ |
Speaking of pastors, I have been curious as to who the richest is among them all in Nigeria. And after carrying out my research, I decided to make a list of the top 10 richest Pastors in Nigeria. it is quite an interesting read. 1. Bishop David Oyedepo First on the list is Bishop David Oyedepo. He is the head pastor and founder of Living Faith World Outreach Ministry (aka Winners Chapel), which was founded in 1981. He owns two private jets, although some claim it is four. He also has houses scattered all over the world and has a net worth of $180 million. https://i2.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/oye.jpg?zoom=4&resize=259%2C194&ssl=1 2. Father Edeh A somewhat strange addition to the list is Rev. Fr. Emmanuel M.P. Edeh, popularly called Father Edeh. I say strange because he is relatively unknown, especially to non Easterners. But here’s a little about him: he is a Catholic Priest, the founder of the Center for Peace, Justice and Reconciliation. He is the owner of four tertiary institutions, four (Madonna University Nigeria, Caritas University, OSISATECH Polytechnic, OSISATECH College of Education), and he is estimated to be with $80-100 million. Now you know why he is here. https://i1.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/edeh.jpg?w=310&ssl=1 3. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Christian Oyakhilome known popularly as Pastor Chris is third on the wealth list. President of Believers Love World aka Christ Embassy, he has over 50,000 members in which the wealthiest of the wealthiest are among. Pastor Chris is reportedly worth $100 million. https://i1.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/chris.png?w=448&ssl=1 4. Pastor T.B. Joshua Known for his healing and miracle performances, Pastor T.B. Joshua (as he is known) is the Head Pastor at Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN). He is famous as Nigeria’s most philanthropic pastor and also the most controversial, it is still a shock as to how and why he has no other branch of his church anywhere in the country. The church (Synagogue) accommodates over 15,000 people. He is reportedly worth an estimated $60 million. I think he is worth more though. https://i2.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/johs.jpg?w=310&ssl=1 5. Pastor E.A. Adeboye I personally thought “Daddy G.O” will be in the top two because, well because he is Daddy G.O. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). His Church community (Redemption Camp) is reportedly worth over 200 billion Naira, and it has a University (Redeemers University), a high school, hospitals, a TV station, its printing press amongst other things. It is reported that over 200 billion Naira is realized from annual tithes, offering and seed sowing in his Church Parishes. He is worth a good $50 million. https://i0.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/g.o.png?w=475&ssl=1 Others on the list are: 6. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo 7. Reverend Chris Okotie 8. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor 9. Dr. Mike Okonkwo 10. Pastor Lazarus Muoka See full details: https://www.nigerianindex.com/top-10-richest-pastors-in-nigeria/ Cc: Dominique Mynd44 |
Nigeria boasts of currently, and arguably all time, the best crop of musicians in Africa… dare I say the world too. Everyday, we hear and see them breaking records, touring and setting milestones in the music industry. This causes a soft or loud debate on who the richest musicians in the country are. If you have been in one of the debates before, gather your co-debaters around and read this. I have put together a list of the top 10 richest musicians in the country. Let's begin. 1. Davido At the top of the pile is Davido. The self acclaimed (and indeed true) OBO is guessed to have a net worth of about 9 billion Naira - kill me now. Kindly note that the amount stated above is based on his music career alone, because you know I know we know that he is worth way more than that. https://i2.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/davido.png?w=1080&ssl=1 2. Wizkid A close second is the Star Boy himself, Wizkid, also known as Ayodeji Balogun. StarBoy has amassed wealth from the numerous hits, performances, awards and views his music has gotten in the 9 odd years since he started. This puts him second with a net worth of 8 billion Naira. https://i0.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/wiz.png?w=685&ssl=1 3. Don Jazzy By craft, he is a music producer. But after numerous features where he gave some of the best hooks you will ever hear (Endowed, Without my heart), it is safe to call him a musician. CEO of Mavin Records, Don baba J, known to a select few as Michael Collins Ajereh is 3rd on the list with a net worth of 7.5 billion Naira. https://i0.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/dj.png?w=412&ssl=1 4. D’banj Like his Jamaican friends call him, Skibanj comfortably occupies 4th place with a net worth of 6 billion Naira. This is a product of the success he got from his four studio albums, two compilation albums and an endless number of mega hit singles. Talking about his achievements and awards will require a whole new article. https://i0.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/banj.jpg?w=225&ssl=1 5. Tuface Idibia (2Baba) In my (not so) humble opinion, 2baba is Nigeria’s second greatest musician of all time - behind to only the legend, Fela. Just when you think he has gotten to his twilight, he comes with a new song, style, concept and he tops the charts for a period of time. With over 10 evergreen songs to his name, it is safe to call him a legend in the Nigerian music scene. Tuface Idibia is worth 5.9 billion Naira. https://i0.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/face.jpg?zoom=4&resize=284%2C177&ssl=1 Others on the list include: 6. Peter Okoye 7. Paul Okoye 8. Timaya 9.Banky W 10. Olamide & Flavour Find out their net worths and full details here: https://www.nigerianindex.com/top-10-richest-musicians-in-nigeria/ Cc: Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique |
Going through a divorce is no piece of cake and for most, it is usually one of the most difficult periods of their lives. However, no matter how difficult, it is better to be prepared to handle the financial challenges that come with a divorce than it is to face them unprepared. Here are a few tips which can help you make sure that you don’t end up in a financial mess after a divorce. HAVING UNREALISTIC FINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS Many people start off the divorce proceedings assuming they will get everything they want. As such, sometimes demands get overstated and this can lead to an extremely painful, drawn-out divorce process. If you want your divorce proceedings to go as smoothly as possible, one of the keys is to have realistic expectations of the how much you will get as your share from the split. REFUSING TO COMMUNICATE Although going through a divorce can be a really messy and emotional process, it is crucial that you keep your emotions in check and focus on the important things. Unless your marriage was abusive, you must never refuse to communicate while the divorce proceedings are ongoing. This is really important especially if you have children together. You should always be willing to communicate in a civil manner with your ex, after all, you were married to him at one point. If your ex reaches out to you via a phone call, email or in person, with a need to discuss an issue pertaining to your divorce and marriage or even to find out how the children are doing, respond with common human courtesy. Not doing so portrays immaturity. NOT DEALING WITH JOINT FINANCES AND ACCOUNTS Most couples have joint accounts from which household bills are paid. Once one of you files for a divorce, withdrawals from that account may be legally restricted. So, if you’re about to file for divorce (or you think your husband may be) planning for your immediate financial needs becomes a question of timing. You will probably want to withdraw money from joint accounts and set it aside for your own needs. When, and how much you should withdraw depends on factors such as how much you have contributed over time and whether there’s a court order restricting your access to the funds. FORGETTING TO UPDATE ESTATE DOCUMENTS If you’ve gone through a divorce, don’t forget to update all financial and legal records. Ensure you remove your partner’s name from important documents, such as your life insurance policies, joint accounts, credit cards, wills, title deeds to real estate, next of kin details with your employer, and any other financial asset. Failure to do so might mean that your ex will still be entitled to portions of your assets even after you have both parted ways. NOT MAINTAINING ENOUGH LIQUID RESERVES It’s important to keep cash reserves to cover your new living expenses, legal fees, court costs, rent or mortgage payments, insurance premiums, school fees and so on. FAILING TO SECURE CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS Even though child support payments are spelled out in explicit detail as part of divorce settlement agreements, most divorced women and children don’t receive the money they are entitled to. Ensure that your divorce agreements include clauses that make it difficult for your ex to get away easily without making these payments. GOING ON THE REBOUND WITH THE WRONG GUY Dating after divorce can be an important step towards creating a new future. However, many newly-divorced women jump into relationships too fast and then end up making poor financial decisions as a result. You should now seek to date a man who can support you emotionally and financially, not a man who will become a financial burden to you. Look after your heart and wallet when choosing a new mate. NEVER PASS UP THE OPPORTUNITY TO FORGIVE I know this is probably the last thing any woman going through a divorce wants to hear, but it is important that you forgive your ex. An unforgiving heart is the biggest obstacle to moving past divorce and on to a rich and fulfilling life. Divorces aren’t easy and they’re usually fraught with a lot of emotions. But, once the process is finalized, you can turn the page and start a new future. Keep that future bright by protecting your assets and implementing a sound long-term financial plan. Working through the financial matters that pertain to divorce is not going to be easy, but stay focused on the important things. Your focus on financial matters at this point in time will create an excellent foundation for your financial security and independence. Scroll down to Force 4x MSAA option. You may find it under “Hardware Accelerated Rendering” if your Developer options menu is divided into sections. Enable this option and reboot your phone. https://www.androidgamecity.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Force-4x-MSAA.png Note: Enabling Force 4x MSAA option will drain your Android phone’s battery faster while boosting your gaming graphics. So, you may want to have a lot of battery juice before enabling it. It is also advisable to disable it when you are not gaming. 2. Uninstall Apps that you rarely use There are some apps that just sit and occupy space on our phones. Sometimes, we simply leave them because we believe they will be useful someday. A lot of times, they do not get useful. They just take up phone memory. This generally causes Android phones to start lagging. When you have so many apps taking up memory on your phone, it eventually takes a toll on performance. Your phone begins to get slow, and you may get frustrated at times. This becomes worse when you are gaming on your Android device. You will notice obvious deterioration in performance and speed. To improve this Android gaming experience, you should uninstall unwanted apps on your phone. Check your phone regularly to remove apps that you do not use. You will notice a significant improvement in phone performance which will be noticeable in your Android gaming experience. 3. Turn off Background Apps and Services Background apps and services generally slow down your Android device. This is especially noticeable in your gaming experience. There are a lot of Android apps that generally run in the background. These apps keep using the phone’s resources even when you do not open them. Apps like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp for example, keep running in the background even when you do not open them. These apps consume RAM space on your device, competing with your Android gaming experience. You can disable these background apps and automatic sync to let your games enjoy more resources. However, the truth is that these days, many smartphones come with higher amounts of RAM and the background apps may not get to consume too much of it. 4. Keep your Android updated Android software updates usually come with improved performance. So, if you want to enjoy gaming on your Android device, you should keep your Android version up-to-date. You should also make sure to do the regular software updates that your phone may require. Some people have complained of poorer performances after updating their phones, but this is not the general trend. Most times, the updates are there to boost performance and security. They also come with bug fixes and bring new features to your Android device, providing high performance and stability. You will notice some of these performance improvements in your Android gaming experience. To update your Android or check for the current version, go to Settings > System updates or Settings > About phone > System updates or Settings > About phone > Software info > System updates, depending on the make of your device. 5. Use Gaming Performance Boost Apps Google Play Store is filled with applications that help to improve gaming performance on Android. Many of these apps work by boosting the graphics quality and performance of your device. Many of these gaming performance boost apps come in the form of launchers which house your games. When you open your games through them, you get improved performance. Generally, the features work only while you are playing games through the launcher. Some of the gaming performance boost apps that you will find on Play Store are CM Game Launcher, Swift Gamer, and Game Booster. Some Android devices come with inbuilt Game Launchers which improve your gaming experience. Conclusion If you follow the above-mentioned steps, you will definitely get improved gaming experience on your Android device. While some tips may improve the graphics of your Android games, some others may simply improve the performance. Your choice depends on what exactly you want. Just be sure to check whatever effect your choice has on your Android phone’s battery. Source: https://www.androidgamecity.com/how-to-improve-gaming-performance-on-android/ Cc: Lalasticlala Mynd44

58 years ago, on a day like this, Nigeria became independent of the British colonial rule. 58 years ago, Nigeria won the fight to independence. It has been 58 years on this journey without the British running the affairs of the nation. However, there are two important questions: 1. Is Nigeria truly independent? 2. Is Nigeria really better off now? These are questions that you probably discuss with your friends on 1st October, every year. But have you really sat down to answer them? Probably not. Is Nigeria Truly Independent? When discussing the issue of independence, many Nigerians tend to look at it short-sightedly. Of course, the British colonial masters are no longer exactly running the affairs of the nation. Nigeria has had various Nigerian leaders over the years since taking over from the British. But is Nigeria really out of the control of other countries? Is Nigeria truly free? The truth is that Nigeria is independent but we still depend on many other countries. This is not a Nigerian thing, though. Many other countries also experience this. Imagine a country that makes decisions based on what it plans to get from other countries. Can we really call such a country “independent”? Is Nigeria Really Better Off Now? Our forefathers fought very hard to ensure that Nigeria got its independence and freedom from the colonial masters. Many of them were ready to give their lives to ensure that this country gained its independence. But is Nigeria really better off now? Are we really benefitting from this independence we fought so hard for? The truth is that we may never know for certain where Nigeria would have been if the country was still being ruled by the British. One thing is for sure though: Nigeria is not where it is supposed to be as a country. I mean, 58 years of independence and the country is still at this level? It’s sad. A high percentage of Nigerians still wallow in abject poverty. Are they free? 58 years of “independence” and we’re still here. Why Is Nigeria Still This Backward? Of course, Nigeria is not just the land area it covers. In fact, you and I are Nigeria. Every citizen of Nigeria makes up Nigeria. So, when talking about the reasons why Nigeria is still where it is, we refer to the citizens. These could be the government or the everyday citizens. So, what are the main challenges faced by Nigeria today? Bad Leaders Many countries have had their shares of bad leaders, but Nigeria seems to take a lead on this front. Over the years, Nigerian leaders have been synonymous with corruption. People venture into politics, not for the good of the nation, but to enrich themselves. That is why many of our politicians get to positions of power and start embezzling. The worst part of it is that the same old leaders who have sucked the country dry in the past are still coming up to contest for the top positions. It is sad that many Nigerians still vote many bad leaders in based on sentiments. Corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of Nigeria, and it takes great effort to tear down that stronghold. Nigerians need to come to the point where we say “Enough is enough”, and take down these bad leaders. The Not-Too-Young-To-Run bill is a good step towards doing this. Tribalism And Ethnic Bigotry “I can never vote for any Northerner. They are only after power and more power.” “Why would I vote for an Igbo man who likes money more than anything?” “Yoruba men? Very lousy! I cannot vote for them.” The above are some of the things that Nigerians tell themselves without even realising that it is one of the main problems being faced by the country. When it comes to rendering help, tribalism also sets in. A person in a position of authority would rather employ someone of the same tribe than someone of a different tribe, even if the person of a different tribe is more qualified. Even many learned Nigerians are blinded by ethnic sentiments. It appears to be passed from generation to generation. Parents plant the idea in their children who in turn do the same to their children. Nigeria is home to over 250 ethnic groups that are supposed to live together in harmony. This cultural diversity could be used positively but Nigerians are not tapping into the positivity. With the hatred among tribes, it is quite difficult for the country to grow. Religious Bigotry Religion is another major factor working against the advancement of Nigeria as a country. It is indeed working against the progress that is supposed to be seen in an independent country. Muslims talk trash against Christians and vice versa. Even the traditional religion worshippers are not left out. If we want Nigeria to move forward, then we have to put the interest of the country before ours. Religion is personal but the progress of the country is a collective good. Nigerians need to understand one another’s religious differences, and act with respect. Why should Christians kill Muslims and Muslims kill Christians? Many times, this could be attributed to illiteracy. But the truth is that many of the so-called learned Nigerians are not left out of these barbaric acts. Until these three main problems are tackled, it may be very difficult for Nigeria to enjoy the positive fruits of independence. https://i1.wp.com/www.nigerianindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/How-To-Identify-Fake-News.jpg?resize=752%2C440&ssl=1 Gone are the days when the only sources of news are the daily newspapers and magazine editions. With the advent of the Internet, the dissemination of news has now become very easy. However, the caveat is that it has also become very easy to share fake news. This is because websites are not exactly monitored as strictly as newspapers are. Considering the fact that blogging is now one of the most popular online businesses in Nigeria, there are now so many channels of news. A lot of bloggers just copy and paste posts from other blogs and sites without even making prior confirmations. Also, sharing of fake news has now become very popular on our social media platforms. The bad thing about it is that a lot of people believe the news articles, taking the posts hook, line and sinker. In some cases, this may have some pretty serious effects on the readers. The question now is about how to identify fake news. It's pretty easy if you do these five things. 1. Confirm News Articles From Multiple Sources This is one of the best way to confirm if a news article is fake. The bad news, however, is that Nigerian bloggers tend to copy directly from other blogs a lot. But if you do your assignment right, you will eventually know if the news is true. There are a lot of websites you can actually trust. 2. Confirm From The Social Media Handles Of Those Involved A lot of news articles are simply curated from the social media handles of people. This is especially common in Nigeria where bloggers visit the social media handles of celebrities and come up with news from their posts and pictures. If a blogger says that a celebrity said something, you can simply visit the celebrity's social media pages to confirm. 3. Check The Credibility Of The Website New websites spring up every day, serving various purposes. A new news website simply joins the train and starts posting news. If you come across a news article from a website you are not used to, you can simply do a background check on the website to know if it can be trusted. Play your part by finding out about the website before you swallow fake news like eba. 4. Read Beyond The Headlines It has been found that a lot of readers of news articles do not even read beyond the headlines. After reading the headlines, they believe that they already know the story and they simply share it like that. Some deceptive bloggers know this, so they simply use clickbaits. They come up with headlines that you are almost always likely to click. Imagine a news headline like "Ambode Slaps Tinubu". That headline would likely be a trending story if it were true. So, a news website could use that and eventually explain in the body of the article, that "What Ambode did was a slap on Tinubu's face". Imagine the difference. But if you don't read beyond the headline, you might not know that it is actually fake. 5. Take News Articles With A Grain Of Salt If Sources Are Not Cited This form of "news" is very popular on the WhatsApp chatting platform. You just wake up one day and see a long news article in one of the groups you belong to. At the end of the news, no source is cited. Don't be quick to share it as news to someone else. A lot of fake news have been shared that way to unsuspecting readers. Try to only believe stories from credible sources. If you see a post with no source cited, do well to confirm it from trusted sites. Source: https://www.nigerianindex.com/top-5-ways-to-identify-fake-news/ Cc: Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique |
