cbn4main: For someone who does not require sponsorship(he is already in the uk) and has up 8 years of experience in Nigeria, what are his chances of securing an Accounting or Audit role as an ICAEW member?
Are employers so particular about UK work experience ?
Exactly and it's one of the documents I applied for on my first week of arrival to the UK.
koonbey: That's a common misconception that I only just cleared up recently as well - I think from someone here. I actually waited six months before applying.
Anyway, the rule is actually that you must have leave to stay in the UK for six months or more, not that you must have stayed six months or more. So you can apply from your first day in the country if your visa length qualifies.
This is why Nigerians need to travel around the country more often. Staying too long in one's state results in your inability to appreciate the diversity in our cuisine. All what you call clone or bad soup are indeed premium soups. Also saying some soups are useless without the added protein is just crass because...what is a soup without the added protein? I have not seen any food made without this. I grew up in middle belt (north central) and I have had the opportunity to travel round and tasted virtually all the soups listed. I found them very tasty. I'm from SW btw.
My only downside however is usually the way some of these soups are prepared in the different regions/states. For example miyan kuka is same as ewedu but the leaves used in the north are dried first before use. Some tribes may cook you okra soup in a tasty way while others in a way you would hate it.
Please travel more and don't allow yourself to suffer from unconscious bias.
My mother was diagnosed of brain tumor about 3 years ago though she is old we are skeptical about going for surgery.
The sickness affected her muscles as she finds it difficult to walk and chew food. It takes her time to eat food and end up eating very small quantity.
What can we give her to increase her appetite because I strongly believe she will get strength if she eat very well. We have spoken to doctor who insists we do the surgery as the only way out.
NuCypher: According to information just making the news, it appears Seychelles just placed a ban on Nigerian passport holders for holiday purposes. Many travel blogs reporting this now.
That's the issue... Stop marrying these women young and rush them into getting babies quickly. If you do, they would end up trying to relieve their youth
A married woman experiences public humiliation within her community for allegedly engaging in an extramarital affair with her neighbour.
A video making the rounds on social media captured the moment individuals of a community paraded a mother of six (6) over an alleged affair.
While specific details about the event remain unclear, reports suggest that the woman, who is said to be pregnant, was discovered in a compromising situation with her suspected lover.
The video, which has gained significant attention, shows the woman being scorned and paraded while being taunted and insulted.

Was considering lifting the car up it it will affect the balance.
Did you request for the slip generated by the POS showing Declined? If you did, send a strong email to card services at your bank including the slip as part of the email.
Sad but most POS devices are poorly implemented resulting in issues like this. They ought to be able to requery the transaction to get you debited (possible this was done after your left just to swindle you). You can check the time the transaction was declined against the document shared with you by your bank and see if the two timestamps match. If it doesn't say a difference of 2-5 minutes after you left the stand, then you've been swindled.
Promicah: I performed a transaction at a Pos stand and it was declined but I was debited 2100. Immediately, I complained to the back because it's a stone throw from my residence. The customer care told me to check back in seven days that she has logged in my complaints.
After the d-day, I discovered it was not reversed. I called the customer care and I received the shocker of my life. They sent me a document which I will attach to this post that it was successful.
I went back to the post guy and narrated it to him and he said, "He didn't see any money reversed." I went back to the bank and was told they can't do anything that it was successful.
Please bankers and experienced nairalanders, what can I do to recover my 2100? I don't have any money with me and I was hoping for that money. Have I been scammed or what?
See the attached picture for clarification.
Good afternoon sir Nlf.pmod. Please help me post. I really need this money, sir. I want to know where it's coming from.
Obinoscopy: I think Putin is losing his authoritarian grip. And thats all it takes to take down a dictatorial leader, a little dip in control. The Russian rebel that will emerge might not be Prigozhin but Prigozhin has cracked open the rebellion door for others to take cue from. Putin will definitely not be sleeping with his two eyes closed. The western world should just grab some popcorn and watch and should not interfere on the impending Putin implosion. My opinion.
[quote author=Whiteangel1234 post=124210590]#Mmesomagate : Today, I have written JAMB giving them 24 hours to come clean and apologize to Ms Mmesoma for violating her rights or face court action. We shall be heading to Court once the time given elapses without hearing from them.
So wrong how JAMB is treating this case and they might end up paying for damages. They need to audit their platforms to make sure the glitch wasn't from them. The affected student too ...can she come out with her chest that she could've scored that much in the exam? I am not doubting her abilities but if she can then she should pursue this to letter. She's too naive to have done all she's being accused of.
“I’m Traumatized, I Printed My Result From JAMB Portal”— Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma Speaks Up
Ejikeme Mmesoma Speaks up after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) claimed she had inflated her result and announced herself as the top scorer for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Below is the press statement by Hon. Augustine Onyekachukwu Ike KSJI, Member Representing Nnewi North Constituency, Anambra State House of Assembly.
First thing I would ask is where are you based? Reason is so that you don't get caught up by social works officials. Secondly, do you indulge her in sugary food like ice cream etc? These things energizes kids and make them hyperactive. Lastly, you might want to engage her in physical activities outdoors to wear her out and cause her to sleep when she ought to. Take her to parks if available.
Mister123: Hello guys. Greetings to you. Please don't mind muy grammar, I'm not here for English classes lol. My first child's almost 3years, trust me that girl can be playing and roaming about 24/7. As long as she's not asleep, her mum and I are always talking, don't do this, don't do that. Sometimes I lose my cool you know. I'm planing to enroll her into a conventional school by September because she seems really smart. My question here is, how do I handle her, she can't just stay in one place and our apartment is not really safe for her to be playing outside. Parents and expert in the house please assist a brother with an idea of what to do. Thank you
Gosh which kain werey be dis one 🤦🏿♂️ curious if he was born here or migrated with parents cos I don't understand his kind of upbringing... as in no existent 😕
Lexusgs430: Parent's teach/guide your children right .........

What category of license did you submit and why do you think your skills are not sharp enough? Perhaps you should share this reason with them to see how they can mitigate it with you.
lukasa: I already submitted a license but my skills are not sharp enough.
...you see, s/he didn't need to give full specifications like Senior AI/ML Software Engineer at Company Name ...rather it can be a Senior role as a software engineer (with my 5 years experience in Nigeria) in an FMCG or Health or Financial services company ...that's all most here would love to read or hear from successes like this.
Why I would always love the Tier 4 Visa application thread, almost everyone who got their visa approved, returned back with details of what they did, when they went for their interview ...some with the questions they were asked, how they went about other stuff related to the application, the fasting and prayer sessions ....EVERYTHING they did along the way was shared discretely.
I chose my current school (MMU - before you ask me ) because of similar feedback, all of this is to help others move along. People are getting depressed and if out the abundance of your heart you could share anything or ideas to help people out ...please do with as much information as possible discretely. Give people hope they can also do it. No one is saying tell us the job title plus your employer or your remuneration...no.
koonbey: Fair enough. I still believe people should be left to disclose as much or as little as they want. You can take the lessons in what is said and piece things together from different people. I felt he gave enough insight into his application process far more valuable than the specific job title could have been.
There are a multitude of reasons why a person might not want to share their job role or any other thing.
Ultimately, I acknowledge you and Airbay's points, though I still disagree.
