My brother it's not that posters fault, na because they no take IQ test before approving use of Internet. Any brainless nematode can come on here and type trash, then go back home and start to look for where to find fuel for their generator to watch football. Too many people in this country are just darn brainless. In fact if there is a revolution it's not just the corrupt leaders that need to be culled!!
Politics › Re: Jonathan Has Assaulted The Sensibilities Of Muslims By Visiting Jerusalem-gumi by bjdon: 7:16am On Oct 28, 2014
The only thing that surprises me about this statement is that some people are surprised. Many of you young people simply don't understand what Nigeria used to be like. You've lived through the Obasanjo and GEJ era. Anybody over 40 understands fully well that Nigeria used to be like in the 70's, 80's and 90's. The Northern Muslims reigned supreme. Arabic inscriptions were on Federal govt properties and the national currency. Major meeting in the Army were conducted in Hausa. When young people come on here and make comments like 'Religion does not matter just competence' blah blah I laugh at their naivety.

Thank you Shiek Gumi for showing these young naive southerners EXACTLY how northern Muslims think.
Politics › Re: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo Cautions APC About Muslim-muslim Ticket by bjdon: 1:23pm On Oct 27, 2014
Obasanjo has said it how it is. I think he's actually trying to help the ACP. We have to face the realities of our time. Religion is currently a very emotional and sensitive issue in Nigeria today. A Muslim-Muslim ticket will simply not fly in current climate. Just imagine how PDP would play it in the campaign? Pastors on the PDP pay role will make hay, calling on their flock to 'defend their faith'. The 'Political Boko Haram' will swing into action and we can expect to see churches across the country attacked. In such a climate do you really think Christians will come out en mass to vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket? Let's be honest with ourselves.
Politics › Re: Muhammadu Buhari, By Femi Aribisala by bjdon: 1:27pm On Oct 22, 2014
How anybody in his right mind can hold up Buhari as a symbol of anti corruption is beyond me.

Here is a man who boldly stated, in public that Abacha never stole any public funds. I mean, REALLY??. Buhari's so called anti-corruption stance has always been directed at those he does not like. After calling PDP all manner of names under the sun, the same Buhari was only too happy to welcome PDP governors into ACP. Is he now saying that all those governors are not corrupt? Buhari is a big hypocrite who has been given an undeserving angelic status by, well meaning young Nigerians who are hungry for change. I am sorry guy n gals, Buhari is not the change your looking for.

Politics › Re: How Aliyu And Lamido Deceived Me- Gov. Amaechi: by bjdon: 11:21am On Sep 23, 2014
Amaechi has shown himself to be quite naive. The oldest saying in politics is that there are no permanent friends or enemies only permanent interests. As a south-south governor he was a 'beautiful bride' to the North. They need a SS governor to try and divide GEJ's base. On that basis he should have bided his time, let all the other governors first move to ACP and then let them formally and publicly invite him over. Now he's in no mans land, schemed out of power in ACP and unable to return to PDP. Never carry last and Never be mugu grin

Give no quarter for none shall be given to you, show no mercy for none shall be shown to you. You are our heroes, you are all that stand between freedom and liberty on the one hand and savagery and medieval barbarism on the hand. Fight on brave soldiers, shoot well and true, your Victory is certain!

**nothing much to explain, it makes sound biological sense. It lends itself to male headship if maturity and attainment is commensurate. Women age faster given childbirth. The man is likely to be more indulgent and accommodating of his wife as she matures and ages and unlikely to feel the need to prove a point or overly assert himself. The only caveat is the man should be in good physical shape and keep an eyre on trends, but I'd say that about a couple of any age differential** Loving it cool!
I am in the same boat and I agree 100%. She keeps me young and I keep her wise. For me it's a match made in heaven!

Family › Re: Why Our Daily Living Is Becoming Less Fulfilling by bjdon: 1:48pm On Sep 06, 2014
This is all very true. I've been thinking recently that maybe things were better in the old days when the vast majority of people lived in the villages and had a basic rural lifestyle. You farmed/hunted enough for your family and did a little trade by batter to get any extras. So called modern life is just one big effort. For the average Nigerian it starts with common entrance, then JSS, then SSE/JAMB, then the soul destroying effort of trying to get a degree (unless your luck enough to do your degree studies abroad ) then it's look for a job, survive in the job, get married, have kids, bring up kids.... It all just seems so endless at times
Politics › Re: Buhari’s Wife Asks President Jonathan To Resign Immediately by bjdon: 1:15pm On Aug 01, 2014
Stupid bush woman

Why did she not call for Abacha to resign when his actions brought international sanctions upon Nigeria and made us an international pariah nation?

Why did she not call for Obasanjo to resign when the Niger Delta uprising was at it's peak and Nigeria's oil production was drastically reduced?

Where was she when the Turai and the Cabal kept the Nation in suspense for 3 months with while all along Yardua as practically a living vegetable?

But when her dear husband is involved in an assassination attempt, suddenly the President of the Nation should resign.

I am not a GEJ supporter, personally I think the country could do with a change, but please this kind of bias, brainless statement really annoys me. Mrs Buhari please keep your mouth shut. You refer to other countries right? Well in developed countries your husband would be serving life in jail or maybe even had been executed for high treason.

Family › Re: Options Available For Same A.s Genotype Couple by bjdon: 1:35pm On Jul 13, 2014
Please understand the risks. It's not as some have said that if you have 4 kids one will be a SS. It is a 1 in 4 probability so there is the very real chance that you could have 4 kids and ALL will be SS or none.

The only option you have is IVF, were the embryo's will be screened for their genotype. Some people also do a genotype test at about 3 months of pregnancy but there is a risk there of causing a miscarriage and you also need to be clear in your mind if you would abort the baby if it's SS.

My advice to you is if you are in Nigeria or plan to live in Nigeria with your kids, then please both of you need to find new life partners. If you are the developed world then you can talk with your doctors to consider your options
Education › Re: Just Finished Marking WAEC. I Cry For Our Future. by bjdon: 9:31am On Jul 01, 2014
The deterioration in the Educational sector is symptomatic of the wider deterioration in society. When I was growing up in the 80's there hardly any private secondary schools in my state. Everybody attended the public schools. In my secondary school we had children of Generals, High/Appeal court justices and a range of VIPs. This made the PTA very robust and strong. The parents would simply not tolerate a drop in standards because their kids education was at stake.
Now even a local council chairman will send his kids abroad, so where is the pressure going to come from to improve the schools. Until our so called rulers are forced to use the same public services as the general public, be it healthcare, education etc, there will never be an improvement.
Politics › Re: President Jonathan Asked Sanusi To Resign But He Refused by bjdon: 11:11am On Jan 09, 2014
For me the problem here seems to be that EVERYONE in the Nigerian Govt is either incompetent or corrupt. Stella has been caught out in corruption and document forgery, if she had any shame whatsoever she should have resigned and if Jonathan had any sense of probity he would have sacked her. However Sannusi has not covered himself in glory. The governor of the CBN simply can't write a letter to the president claiming $50 Billion is missing and a few weeks later it's reveled that i's actually less than a 20% of that amount. Don't get me wrong $10 Billion dollars is quite a lot of money and if it's missing it needs to be investigated, but in the game of high politics, perception is everything. When you claim $50 Billion dollars is missing, even the most cynical Nigerian will stand up and listen. How could he get his facts so wrong?
Having said all this on balance, it is still quite sad that Jonathan can ask for him to resign, yet keep quiet on Stella. Did he not tell the world a commite headed by the NSA was to look into the matter? What was the outcome?

claremont: Would there ever be a black British Prime minister: I don't think that will ever happen in a million years.

Is there a black President in America: The President of America is a black man.

That answers your question.
The progress of blacks in the UK and US can't be compared on a like for like basis. Blacks have been in the US in large numbers for over 250 years. Since the end of the American civil war, the blacks in the North were more or less free to get an education and pursue their dreams. In the UK large scale black migration did not start till the 1950's and this was mainly from the West Indies. The vast majority of these migrants were blue collar working class with very little aspiration/ambition for themselves or their offspring. The professional black middle class in the UK has only really come into effect in the last 30 years and it mainly consists of those of African origin. I predict that a generation from now you'll see blacks in the UK occupying top positions in business and politics as it is the US today.

My people do they still read 'Animal Farm' in JSS? if not I implore you to go and read that book, if they still read it then you'll be familar with how in the end the Pigs were dinning their so called enemies, the humans, while the rest of the anmials were starving outside. That is Nigeria today. The rulling class play us like fools. There is no difference between APC, APGA, PDP, ANPP, UNP, NPN, AD, AC, PRP....., They are all subscribe to the motto of 'You chop I chop'!!

It's so sad to see Buhari mortgage himself like this. While i never really trusted the man, after he worked with Abacha, I was ready to give him the benefit of the doubt as many Niaralnders seem to think he was 'The One'. I hope all your eyes are open now and you can see that Buhari is simply just 'Another one'

When I've been telling you chaps on NL that Buhari is no saint, you refused to listen. Buhari is desperate for power and will align with anybody who he feels can help him get it. Did the same Buhari not serve in Abacha's govt? Did the same Buhari not go begging to Babangida to help me forge an alliance with AC at the last election? I beg make I hear word. Buahri is part of the same old generation that have destroyed this country. It is up to US THE Youth and middle age, to take back our land from these apes. fkaz: Sarakis family was once in ANPP before joining PDP and now they are back to APC. Like it or not you can't take control of kwara state without saraki, just like taraba state which you can't take control without the support of T.Y Danjuma
RUBBISH!! I've read a lot of crap on NL but by God this has to be the worse. Who says you can't take power from Saraki? Is this not democracy? If that is the case why do we bother? People in other parts of the country have dethroned God fathers why can't it be done in Kwara State. I am an Edo man and I can tell you that before Osho baba, that is exactly what everyone used to say. We were told 'You can't be anything in Edo State unless Anneih is behind you, blah blah blah' Today is Osho not in his second term. Until Nigerians learn to rise up and take power from these rogues they deserve everything they get. No Power, you deserve it. No water, you deserve it. Okpuzu01: I am happily married with one kid. My problem is that, my in laws v been mounting pressure on my wife for money. She gives money to them without my consent. I opened up a business wich eventually collapsed as a result of my wife giving her parents money from the business. Her whole families are depending on her to survive. I v seen that we can't make any meaningful progress in life if things continue the way they are. I v talked to my wife severally and yet, she is not ready to change. I am thinking of taking another wife.
I am sorry but I must ask this question. Are you a man or a mouse? Stop wasting time asking strangers on NL how to sort out your married life and TAKE CONTROL. You are man of the house, let your wife know in no uncertain terms that this kind of behavior is just not on. Every marriage must have red lines and boundaries that you both don't cross, else it becomes a free for all. It is also important that you follow the same rules. You can't be sending money to your relations with out telling her and expect her not to do the same. You both need to get this sorted out as financial matters are one of the biggest causes of marriage failure.
Politics › Re: Understanding The Oil Theft Business In Nigeria (All About Stolen Crude) by bjdon: 4:46pm On Dec 04, 2013
This has to be the best write-up on NL this year. It is very detailed and really offers a clear look of what's going on in the Niger Delta. It's a shame our so called media can't come up with anything so good.

I am sorry to say I can't see how things will ever be changed. The ethnic element means any attempt for a non Niger Delta leader to try and clamp down on the oil theft will simply be termed as 'Oppression of the Niger Delta'. In fact you could argue that there is now a form of 'Resource control' by the militants and I don't see how that can be reversed without a full scale war, which the Nigerian state is simply not capable of winning. I guess, the slow motion death of the Nation will continue till such a time as there's noting left to steal
Politics › Re: Oshiomhole Apologises For His Heartless Comments To A Widow by bjdon: 4:42pm On Nov 29, 2013
It takes a big man to admit his mistakes. Let's be honest how many Nigerian 'leaders' have had the good grace to apologize for anything. I saw the video and to be honest I've lost quite a lot of respect for Adams. A leader should simply not speak like that to his people. However as a Christian I will accept his 'apology' and leave ultimate judgement to the Lord

omar22: Westerhof had 100% backing of the LT Augustus Aikhomu, every single penny to prepare the team was handed to Clemence Westerhof. Now the FIFA rule that prevents the FG getting involved in the National team. The NFF could sack Keshi in a heart beat and nothing will happen.
Noting will happen, if we let it. That's the crux of the matter. Every form of corruption and wrong doing in this country is allowed to occur because of our silence. However I think on this one, for once we can fight back. Even many of those in govt are football fans and they want to see the SE do well, all we the PEOPLE have to do is make sure our voice is heard. Once the NFF confirm they want to bring in a foreign coach we must make such a noise the likes of which they have never experienced. WE ARE THEIR BOSSES. WE THE PEOPLE. If they try it WE THE PEOPLE must sack them. The Egyptians sacked 2 presidents, one of them democratically elected. If they can do that why can't we sack a bunch of thieving incompetent NFF people?

We must to be ready to shout loud, via all available media once they try to do their mago-mago. Enough of being a victim in this country, it's time we started to show these clowns we won't and can't be taking for a ride any longer.

Goke7: I have said it before and will repeat it again for emphasis that Keshi's greatest sin was winning the Afcon, the guys at the glass house are not happy and to add salt to injury, keshi qualified for the world cup in grand style, no need for permutations or calculator, imagine needing a draw at home or even a 1-nil loss to qualify, instead he did excellently to beat ethiopia 4-1 and went on to draw 2-2 with a world class italian team in a friendly match, they thought will expose him woefully.

Let's forget all the talk of doing well against the best in the world at the world cup, the NFF guys just want to make money at all cost by getting a foreign coach and am afraid they will go ahead unless someone very powerful like Jonathan or the entire Nigerians stop them. If you read in between the lines of what Barrister Green and the NFF President has said, these guys are already shopping for a foreign coach.

In summary, I want to ask, please what are the details of Keshi's contract? does it entail leading the team to the world cup even if he qualified? We all know about the Technical director issue a while ago when Tom sainfeit was appointed before the sports minister intervened, the NFF insisted then that it was part of Keshi''s contract. Am afraid, they will bring that issue up again in legal terms. These Guys are smart o!
Well said!

chidindufrank: If We must hire a foreigner,we better get Sir Alex Ferguson. In fairness to Keshi,he has done a good job so far but as a person I wasn't impressed with our confederation cup perfomance.Keshi should try and get players that can guarantee us at least a quarter final birth at the world cup. Ideye,Gambo,Babatunde should not be invited for camping.
We did not take our top team to the confederation cup. Just because Ferguson was a top club coach what makes you think he will do the same at national level? Its 2 very different skill sets. You may want to check what Scotland did in 1986 world cup with Ferguson as manager.

Please we should not even be having this discussion. Only in a sick dysfunctional country like Nigeria would this even be an issue. Keshi has won the ACN, qualified us for the world cup, using a good mix of home and foreign players. What exactly is ANY foreign going to come and do in less than a year? Are they Gods? Why do we have such an inferiority complex as blacks? Let us go with Keshi, he'll do his best and get good experience for the next world cup.
Politics › Re: Thabo Mbeki’s Verdict On Nigerians by bjdon: 12:00pm On Nov 25, 2013
The simple truth is that Nigeria is corrupt, decayed big FAT LIE of a country. It is a country that was never supposed to be and thus, can never be. Ethnic divisions will ALWAYS prevent a truly national uprising against the corrupt rulers. Just look at what happened in Egypt not once but twice. In fact the second uprising against the Muslim brotherhood was even larger than the first. Upto 20 Million people came out onto the streets. They all marched as EGYPTIANS. There were Muslims, Christians, secular people all marching together. Can that happen in Nigeria? Of course not! It is the time of the North, no it the time of the Igbo, nonsense it is the time of Yoruba, the middle belt are being marginalised, blah blah blah meanwhile the EVERYBODY is suffering as a result of this small minded stupidity.
Only when Nigerians from Sokoto to Sapple, Yola to Yabba, OPEN THEIR EYES, and realize that they need to stand up together, shoulder to shoulder, to demand real accountability from their leaders, will things change. Till then, expect Stella Oduah type affairs and looting Govs to be norm.

I never thought I would live to see the day where I now agree with those who say it's better to just give up and call the White man back to rule us for another 50 years. It's so sad but we just don't seem to be able to do anything right. Do our leaders not have any sense of shame? When they go to Dubai and US and Europe do they not say to themselves 'It would be great to have this kind of 24hrs power in Nigeria, or it would be great to have this type of road network in Nigeria' If our leadership class cant provide even the basics then what's the point?
