Politics › Jonathan's Committee Blames Buhari For Post Election Violence by bodejohn(op): 1:40pm On Oct 11, 2011
In what appears to be subtle indictment of the Congress for Political Change (CPC), presidential candidate, General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), for the post 2011 elections that erupted in some parts of the country, the Federal Government investigation panel on the 2011 Election Violence and Civil Disturbances, during it’s presentation of final report to President Goodluck Jonathan said ethno-religious sentiments, negative campaigns and rumour mongering placed a big part in the crisis.

The chairman of the committee, Dr. Sheik Ahmed Lemu, during the presentation yesterday at the State House, Abuja, blamed some politicians including Buhari for the post 2011 elections violence that erupted in some parts of the country.
However, he added that the committee, not being a judicial panel, avoided indicting any individual or group.

We nigerians do not know what we really want. It is only surprising to see more than 150million nigerians turn to become coaches just because they see less than a quarter of matches in the epl. For people who have followed the local league, ayenugba was better than Enyama during their days at Eyinmba. Even if Enyama is now better was it wrong for the coach to disciple an erring player? We really do not need a coach for our football teams, fifa should just allow all the 150million coaches in the country to be on the bench whenever any of our national teams is playing.

twinskenny:
can any of this plan be use on modem?
@ Twinskenny,
Why you go fall my hand for outside like this?
Put the sim in your phone, activate whatever plan, remove it and stick it into your modem and you are good to go.
To make it even easy, create a new profile on your modem, make the apn dynamic and leave the username and password fields blank. With the new plan you will be able to use any sim without changing the profile. I have tested it with MTN and Airtel and it worked perfectly, you know why i didn't try it glo, hehe,

@ All,
You guys in lagos should move into other parts of the country and see the networks that really sucks!
Phones › Re: Mtn New Mobile Internet Plans by bodejohn(m): 7:35pm On Oct 05, 2011
, you guys should cut mtn some slack here, for me personally this is good news and i will explain. At my hood, i only have mtn 3g, all others are 2g with flunctuation signal levels except airtel that is fair but @ 1k for 100Mb. This has forced me to keep multiple sims with minimum of two data plans from separate providers running simultaneously. Now i can get more data with a single provider at home and elsewhere at a cheaper price. Those of you living in lagos or abuja should count yourself lucky!

Travel › Re: Fred Olawale Makanjuola (Crystal Services) Scams 7,000 People by bodejohn(m): 6:11pm On Sep 24, 2011
It is so bad that graduates of our nation throw everything away in search of travelling abroad. I can remember in 2009 when i had a company sponsored travel to this same canada, a junior colleague in the office asked why i came back, unfortunately running away in canada did not even cross my mind before or during the trip.  Many folks that i have advised against travelling felt i didn't like their progress. Scams like these abound with more gullible nigerians falling victims. They should be glad that they knew their fate right here in nigeria, it would have been worse for them to have been deported at the point of entry.  I have seen that happen to a contract staff in my office. When a deal looks too good, a scam is birthing.

edicolove:
Power supply has greatly improved in Lagos. I posted a thread on that last week. It is not down to the rains.
Secondly, Nigeria does not need 40,000 mega watts. I dont know where you got that from. We are not an industrialized nation yet. I believe an increase in power generation will encourage a lot of industries to spring up. but at the moment, we dont need that amount of power. I have been to south Africa several times and they are a highly industrialized nation so they need such power. Dont even mention the US. I we get to 10, 000 mega watts, we should be ok for nationwide 24 hours power. It is not based on population but on the industrial demands. Individuals dont really use much power.
You need to take into consideration the fact that major manufacturing companies in Nigeria run their machines on generator.
The company I work with runs all the production lines (6 lines) on generator 24hours 7days with only a few utilities and offices on PHCN.
The generators are rated 1MVA each and there are more than 7in number with future expansions impossible without buying more generators.
If the companies that we have in Nigeria especially in the south west move to PHCN, you will see that the 10,000Mwatts you stated will not be enough not to talk of new small and medium scale industries expected to spring up.

They do not only send it up the leader to their superious, they use it to even maintain their stations like buying kerosiene for their lanterns. That is why the collection of bribes by them cannot be stopped by just talking or by reporting to their dpo.

Seun will very soon need to put the rated 18 tag on nl, no one here would want a teenager to add the insults thrown here into his or her vocabulary. At the fullness of time, we will drop all sentiments and demand accountability from our leaders and we wouldn't need luck for this to happen.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by bodejohn(m): 12:18pm On Sep 13, 2011
@ Sophieamore1,
There are rules and regulations in every human endeavor. These rules are usually put in place by owners of the endeavors.
The owner of this thread has stated it clearly that this thread is for free to air satellite discussion. That is what he wants and since we don't own the website, we have to comply or visit other threads or sites where the rules are different or loose.

Having said that, there are people here who by their interactions and discussions have decided to take their satellite experience to other levels that the thread cannot support based on the rules, so they had to forum their groups outside of the thread.

If you desire to take your own experience to these levels, no one will deny you that right, but you have to do it the way others have done it.
You can start a group of your own and discuss whatever you like with your peeps or better still join the already existing ones.

I will like to conclude by saying respect is reciprocal, we gain nothing when we fight and abuse ourselves.

Politics › Re: Bomblast In Jos! by bodejohn(m): 12:08am On Sep 12, 2011
As powerful as we nigerians are we have also succeeded in destroying ourselves with our potent weapons. While we fight and trade blames our common enemy finds a route to escape. But my own point is this, if we unite and demand accountability from the people who are paid to provide us security with just half of the energy we decipate here on an ordinary faceless portal, i am sure we will move faster in the direction to solve our common problems.

That post was not a 'disclaimer' as you try to put it but merely a statement of fact.

As for whether I'm still here or not maybe you need to click on my profile and check past posts. You'll discover how present I've always been on this thread.[/quote]I wasn't talking about your presence on the thread, we have been here together since season 1. I come here too at least twice a day, sometimes more, But how disheartening can it be when you clearly stated that a patch was for 63x and some folks are still asking whether they could load it on 69x etc. and more than 3 pages of email address submission.

It also beats my imagination that we steal (dongle & Cline) and we are still proud of it only trying to justify our actions by a theory of we were ripped off by the providers in the first place. I am guilty too.

Politics › Ajimobi Sets Up Committee On 100 Days In Office by bodejohn(op): 11:19am On Sep 02, 2011
Hmm,

President Goodluck Jonathan will today pay a one-day official visit to Oyo State in solidarity with the government of the state and victims of last Friday’s flood disaster that claimed more than 100 lives and unquantifiable properties.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Bosun Oladele, made this known while briefing newsmen, after a maiden state executive council meeting on Thursday.

Oladele stated that the visit would afford President Jonathan the opportunity to have a first-hand on-the-spot-assessment of the extent of the devastation caused by the flood.

The commissioner said a committee had been constituted to fine-tune arrangements at ensuring a hitch-free visit by the nation’s number one citizen.

President Jonathan had earlier sent a sympathy message through the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Mohammed Sidi.

The commissioner pointed out that there would be no going back on the planned demolition of unapproved houses built on water paths, adding that it was better to save lives than to put up structures that would result in decimation of the citizens.

He also disclosed that a committee that would organise activities marking the 100 days in office of Governor Abiola Ajimobi-led administration had been put together.

Also briefing pressmen, the Commissioner for Environment and Habitat, Alhaji Dauda Wasiu, explained that part of the measures being taken by the state government to contain the consequence of the flood tragedy was to see to the fumigation of water courses and areas to nip the outbreak of diseases in the bud.

He added that government would begin intensive media campaign and sensitisation against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in rivers and other unauthorised places.

The special adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Information and Orientation, Gbolagade Busari, advised owners of the buildings affected in the planned demolition to vacate such properties on or before the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum.

He stated that the concerned buildings and their locations would be published in newspapers and also announced on radio and television.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Ms Olajumoke Akinjide, will also join President Jonathan in the visit to the state.

All the major roads that the Odo Ona river passed are either washed away of completely jammed with heavy traffic.
The whole of Oluyole industrial estate has been cut off from the rest of Ibadan with only the apata sharp corner road available for commuters.
Major companies in the industrial estate are worst hit with the flood breaking down their walls and wreaking havoc in their premises.

We need to fathom the amount of resources that is within the grasp of the president of a country, the money, power, authority etc etc
For those who say that GEJ is either overwhelmed or needs time to solve the problems of Nigeria will you say the same if a member of your family was inside the UN building. Will GEJ still be handicapped if his wife or children were blown into pieces? I am not wishing anybody evil but the facts of these issues should be considered.
There was intelligence reports that there will be independence day blast, nothing was done, the was intelligence that the police head quarters will be targeted nothing was done, there was also intelligence that the UN building was targeted nothing was done again to prevent the attacks and the president has not changed the people in charge of the intelligence unit of the enforcers of public safety. How many more reports are been currently overlooked that will result in loss of lives and properties of Nigerians?
I am at a loss here, what is happening if the federal government of Nigeria cannot provide adequate security for the seat of power that is not more than what you can drive through in 30minutes, then something is definitely wrong with the leadership of our country.

I was also in the same class set with dapo in GCI and there was no bit of arrogance that i noticed in him afterall his father like i heard at that time used to visit the challenge texaco roundabout to read newspapers, meaning there was very little for him to brag about, I even took him as a reserved person, his ways might have changed in UI, i can't say.

I only think he should have gone off the rader of public politics for now and consolidate on whatever lessons he got from his loss at the last election by getting closer to the people and more importantly free himself from the aura of Lam Adesina's son that has been on and around him.

Whichever way i wish him success in his new role till his father falls out of favour with the governor.

The major reason i didn't support GEJ's presidency was the many concession he was giving at that time to governors interest groups and lately workers. There was no way we will get a different result with the same input measure. Minister of defense was indicted of collecting bribe less than four years ago, aso rock getting a budget of more than 500million for food only and many other public disgrace called presidential speeches, we need not call him clueless, he sure knows what he is. Meanwhile he's been in govt. For more than three months, he became the president the following day yaradua died, that's more than 15months ago. He has his report card already, as expected everything is red including his CA scores.

On a more serious note, you need to think deeply if that billionaire is actually the driving force or something else say, poverty.

I changed the vision immediately I found a lucrative offer in a multinational company.

Part of the reasons why some of us insisted that the forum should be kept clean is the type of scene that happened at the Alaba market. Even when you speak with anyone on phone or in any other group we still need to be very careful.

Meanwhile there is a thread already on HD receivers, we can continue the discussions on HD receivers there.

Wiserfool, Sopheamore1 and others,
It is funny that you all agreed to be inside water only to complain about been wet.
This is not about any "GURU", i detest that word, you can check my previous post on it, it is about the rules of the forum.
Go ahead form any group that will discuss your dongles but not on this forum where it is clear in the rules that it is illegal.
Meanwhile this is not a satellite website, it a social networking forum, our fta thread is just one among many others.
I maybe wrong but I think this is a part of the livelihood of the site owner, we don't want to use our selfish interests to ruin his.
No one is greedy here after all you will not ask me or any other person to give you these dongles free, you think it is only dongles? There are many more solutions that are more reliable than dongles, but it will not be discussed on the open forum.
We all maybe faceless, but the owner of the site is not!
, not one more word from me on dongles.

It won't be out of place to add a few more lines to educate the new folks on the forum even though there has been some wonderful replies already and I am not suprised that these rantings have recieve fewer responses, I guess a lot more people have seen and started using the ignore buttons on their keyboard and keypads.
Now to the issue of dongles, I am yet to see any human relationship and association that is not guided by principles otherwise called laws. Permit me to ask you, the dongle riot team lead by Malawi whistle blower, did you read the rules of the forum after you registered? My best guess will be that you didn't, please spare all of us your ignorance and read the rules that you checked a box next to and agreed to abide with. If you are so eager to learn and teach others about dongle, why don't you just go ahead to open your own website and publicise that it is for dongles. The same people you call fools raised the bar of this forum to internation status so that people like you can come and tap knowledge and not display your nuisance value. The rule is that there will be no open discussion of illegal activity on the forum, whatever we do outside the forum is completely not your business! And to the best of my knowledge, there has not been any discussion about how to watch channels of providers that have footprints over our geographical locaion illegally.
Last words to other dongle advocates, you might need to ask about what happened to the first generation of cards and dongles, we will all be here to see what happens when support for these saviour dongles stop.
