Online we advocate less children. Offline we are the product of it and have not sterilized ourselves still, or have hopes of populating the world one way or the other in the not too distant future. It's a lot of hypocrisy.

He's already in the pot of soup, so of what use is it embarrassing his parents because they made mistakes (however you want to interpret the word) l such as not knowing about family planning, or believing children are blessings when they did not plan adequately for them? His parents still see him as a blessing. All their reactions are just frustrations at not meeting up financially concerning their parental responsibilities. To come out here to demonize parents with many children and make them seem like fools is callous, s***** and wrong.

I know of a family that has 9 children and all of them are currently doing well, The elder one forfeited his education and trained his brothers, sponsored one to USA...that was how they all went from Poverty to what we term Ogaranya in Igbo...All of them are currently in Europe as we speak, while the ladies in the family owns various filling stations and landed properties around Nigeria...

His parents aren't bad parents. They made a mistake and unfortunately, the OP has made it his duty to embarrass them.

Everyone here is acting like they don't or won't have more than one child. Having many children doesn't automatically mean poverty. Having one doesn't automatically mean riches or being able to cater for them or living without being on benefits. Ask homeless people. Life is deeper than the pseudo-logical claims to having less children being the cure to poverty and lifes vagaries.

I personally don't agree with getting her family involved as I believe marriage is instead an affair between a man and his wife. Telling her sister of what she has been up to amounts to reporting her affairs to family as if a child, shaming if you would. She is an adult and shouldn't have to be subjected to such treatment regardless of what she has done.

I would instead recommend professional marriage counseling where an unbiased professional gets to help you properly reach a resolution that best fits you both.

The biggest reason people stay in marriages they should've left is that line of bold assumption.

The affair that includes only a wife and husband alone ends in their bedroom. Anything outside of that is very much open to be shared when they need help.

The issue is where to get such help from. This forum isn't that place.

She has this problem from not disciplining them earlier on and giving them too much independence. Children need to be controlled. Not adults.

Her best bet is to restore order by kicking them out. After all, they are financially independent enough to cater to girls and gangsterism. They already know what criminality is all about, they aren't young enough to be intimidated by 2 days in a cell. What they need to do is commit a serious enough crime that will give them 2 years to learn.

She should let them be—under another roof. Parenting isn't compulsory.
