Is04970:It may be eailsier to mai rain but do we maintain anything? If truly concrete requires less maintenance is it not better to build with concrete knowing full well we don’t have a maintenance culture? |
SIONKPO1:Totally agree with you. It is destroying g our local leagues because we play at the same time zone. The number of foreign matches that can be show. should be restricted or the times they can be shown should. Be restricted. Even in the Uk they don’t show live matches at certain times to protect their own leagues. As with everything Nigeria from education to vehicles we are impoverishing our our to strengthen foreigners. |
SIONKPO1:Co Eyelet agree with you. It is destroying g our local leagues because we play at the same time zone. The number of foreign matches should be restricted or the times they can be shown should. Be restricted. Even in the Uk they don’t show live matches at certain times to protect their own leagues. |
The man has nothing to contribute. What did he do in Anambra for 8 yrs that suggests Obi has anything to contribute? It’s amazing some people really think this man has any ideas. |
FreeStuffsNG:The days of frank Kokori, of Wahab Goodluck of Adams Oshiomole. When men were men. I can never forget how Frank Kokori of Nupeng took on Abacha and shut down the country over June 12 annulment. 1st time I experienced fuel scarcity in Nigeria. All NLC leaders since Oshiomole have been useless. Ajaero is the worst! |
Lifestone:People change but only after a lot of pain. if they come together they will still fight again. Like I said in a subsequent post, for PDP/LP/Kwakwanso factions to come together to produce a president, that person will be neither of them. Do they have have the mindset and willingness to build knowing they won’t be the beneficiary? I don’t think so. If they are planning to come together thinking with the same mindset of step down for me, they are merely wasting their time. |
DTaj:If you watch the Awoniyi video I posted, he said something very instructive. He said even though they are yet to produce a governor and some feel it is their turn, the people of Kogi west need to support the central to build trust so that their trust will be repaid in 8 years because they can’t do it o. Their own. He said Central won because they presented 1 candidate while west presented multiple candidates and split their votes. He also said he knows by then he will be too old to be governor but that trust and alliance needs to be built because they can’t produce a governor on their own without alliances with other senatorial zones. People who have that kind of strategic selfless vision are not many in PDP. PDP members tend to have the mindset of it must be me. Put the issue of it is the turn of the south to one side for a minute. The reality of Nigerian elections is that PDP was right not to give Obi the ticket. If they did, the votes Atiku got in the north would have gone to Tinubu. Where they messed up was the way they failed to pacify southern members (Wike, Obi Makinde) and convince them to remain in and work for the party. The same issue that plagued PDP in 2023 will arise in 2027, Obi is unelectable but they need his votes. If they give him the ticket they lose northern votes, if they don’t they lose SE votes. Having also started this Obidient movement, Obi cannot settle for VP. Atiku and Kwakwanso cannot at this stage settle for VP to Obi in a ticket that will not fly in the North anyway. The biggest mistake PDP made was allow Obi to leave. Tinubu would never have allowed it, he would have found a way to keep him on board. Now that he has left, there is no way back. I dont know the fate of PDP but I can make a bold prediction. If PDP remains a party and is ever to produce a president of this country, it won’t be Atiku, it won’t be Obi and it won’t be Kwakwanso. Take that to the bank. Now going back to Awoniyi, for PDP to produce a president and to heal and re-emerge as a force. Atiku, Obi and Kwakwanso must be prepared to sacrifice their egos and ambitions. For a merger to result are PDP really to work with the likes of Abure who now feel they are a force and feel entitled to call the shots? Understand that, LP is now a force, will PDP chieftains be prepared to treat LP hierarchy with respect? It’s like your houseboy now becoming your equal, eating at the same table with people you looked down on, can they handle it? This is what is required for an alliance or a merger to work. Tinubu that merged with ANPP and CPC knew he had to wait to emerge President. Are Kwakwanso, Obi or Atiku prepared to wait or ready to accept they may never be president? Are they prepared to accept that a merger may not produce any of them as president? For a merger to work they have to have that mindset and I say if they had that kind of mindset they would never have split up in the first place. |
Lifestone:The idea is dead on arrival. The merger won’t work for the same reason they split up in the 1st place. A re-emerged PDP (which is what a merger between LP,PDP and Kwakwanso is) will never give the ticket to Obi. The difference between APC and PDP (and it’s splinter groups) is very clear. I urge you to watch the video by Yomi Awoniyi former deputy governor of Kogi state under PDP on YouTube. After 25 years in PDP (his father was a founding member). He defected to APC a few months ago in disgust at the manner with which Dino was given the ticketAa. He said he was shocked at the level of strategic planning in APC. That is what separates APC and PDP. PDP are a party who were gifted power in 1999, and have maintained power by rigging. As soon as it started to become difficult to rig (starting with the reforms under Jonatha) they started to lose their grip on power. The problem with PDP members ( the like of Atiku, Obi, Kwakwanso). Is that they still have that mentality of impunity and rigging that characterized the Obasanjo PDP era. They don’t know how to be strategic, . They don’t know how to compromise, they are not fundamentally democrats. Whatever your views on APC respect them for their ability to compromise, align settle rifts, pacify members, give and take and act strategically . That is why they win elections. You rarely ever hear of rancour in APC. APC will find a way to pacify you and keep you sweet of you are politically relevant. APC rarely do fight to end amongst members and when rifts occur, they will settle. When PDP have internal problems it is fight to finish. PDP is a party of egos and a merger will not succeed for the same reason they split up. PDP were handed power by the military, the culture of a true political party of varied interests in not in their DNA. APC had to work for power. I made a comment in 2015, that almost all the reasonable people in PDP have left, the ones left are those with core PDP mindset. They are the ones driven by ego and impunity. They will never agree on anything, they are the kind of people who will scatter everything if they don’t get what they want, they are the kind that jump from party to party. They are not loyal. Look at the presidential candidates in the last elections, if you examine all the PDP or ex-PDP candidates Obi, Atiku and Kwakwanso, they have they have defected as least twice. Tinubu has never left his party from day 1. Did you see the Kogi PDP youth wing on TV celebrating the defeat of Dino and thanking INEC? I have never seen a party where from rivers to Oyo and now to Kogi, party members are celebrating their defeat. I have never seen a party where an APC president from an opposition party is settling rifts in PDP. A party where PDP governors are thanking the president for settling their internal problems. This is the same party that will be unified if they re-merge? Watch this video. This is probably one of the most honest assessments you will hear from a politician. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlDqW3Umzb4?si=Xv9wJDdmDphTW31z |
Obierika:I do because I was raised in a family that taught me good values and how to choose a partner correctly. How to choose a partner that shares the same family values as I do. I did not marry with my penis, I married with my head. I come from a stable family and I married a woman from a stable family who shares the same family values as I do. So just as my parents and her parents, we both know there will be difficulties but we know we made a commitment to see it through. We don’t bail because things are rough, that is the mentality that pervades single parent homes, which is why the cycle repeats itself. A lot of marriages are doomed from the start because you chose wrong partner from the beginning. You married for superficial reasons like beauty, money, peer pressure etc and ignored compatibility, character, values, respect and family background. So when the stresses of life hit your marriage as they will with any marriage, you have nothing to sustain the marriage. My parents did not divorce, their parents did not divorce, same with my wife. Which mouth do any of us want to use to say we are divorcing…over what? Did I abuse her? Did she disrespect or cheat on me? On what basis? But to the man/woman whose parents are divorced or never married, the 1st option whenever there is problem is to leave 1) because they have no built in resilience 2) they don’t know what it takes to sustain a marriage having never experienced a stable home and 3) there is no shame after all daddy or mummy were divorced or never married, it is easy to default into they were raised by a single mother so They can raise their children alone!!! If you were raised by a single mother it is easier for you to give up, whereas someone raised in a loving 2 parent family will try harder because it is a failure for them to bequeath a broken home to their child. That’s why I always advice men and women don’t marry people from broken homes/single mothers/absent/unknown fathers. It is easier for them to quit and they have no 1st hand experience of what it takes to maintain a marriage. |
Flamemignon1:Go back to night school and relearn English. I will not engage a man who I say “ go left” and interpreted that as “go right”. I repeat what I say often on Nairaland. Majority of Nigerians speak English but do not understand English. This is the reason why foreign universities ask Nigerians to take English proficiency exams. If I say it is irresponsible of you to put your property in a place where it can be stolen, it does not mean I said or implied the thief is right to steal your property. That interpretation can only be due to poor English comprehension, a lack of intelligence/logical thinking or both. At the end of the day it is your property, you are the one who bears the burden of your stolen property. There is no praise to be given to a fool who does or guard his property or allows his property to be stolen. That I say that does not in any way infer than I sanction the action of the thief who stole your property. If you chose to make that interpretation then that is only a reflection of your IQ and for that I can neither be blamed neither can I help you. You are the one who opened your legs for an irresponsible man to impregnate you or you deliberately had a child the father did not want and I am supposed to praise you for raising a child you wanted and willingly brought into the world knowing full well that child will not have a father and will be scarred? Who is supposed to raise the child if not you? What manner of societal values were you raised with? Who begged a single mother to raise a child without a father? Did you praise her when she was opening her legs for an irresponsible man? Was she raped? Nonsense!!! |
Flamemignon1:Once again you have shown your inability to comprehend basic English. I used “usually” in reference to the situation where you have a single father. Despite emphasizing it precisely to take account of your inadequacies, you still failed to comprehend. I guess you are just another product of a failed education system. There is no props to be given to any irresponsible single mother or any irresponsible absconded father. The single mother is stuck with the child because she has no choice and in most cases chose to be a single mother. Let’s stop elevating nonsense. If she were a responsible woman she wouldn’t have bleeped an irresponsible man, had a child for an irresponsible man in the first place or had a child knowing the father of the child doesn’t want the child. In many cases single mothers chose to have the child damning the consequences to the child and to society and often for selfish reasons to fulfill a need for motherhood. You will not get praise from me for shouldering the responsibility your own mess. I don’t understand the sort of world where one is supposed to praise a degenerate for being a degenerate. The women who deserve praise are those responsible enough to bring up children in a 2 parent household….not those who take the easy way out. I have no time or respect for single mothers and absentee fathers. I am a parent myself, I see the children these people bring to the world, they are generally either a bad influence on other kids due to bad parenting controls at home or the good ones amongst them are obviously psychologically damaged, lacking in self confidence and hurting living in pain. It’s not the fault of the kids, they have been given a bad deck of cards. It’s the irresponsible parents, both father or mother. No child deserves that. I cannot praise any man or woman for doing that to a child. |
Flamemignon1:That is how you chose to interprete what I said because you came at my post with a bias. Most children in a broken home will be raised by the mother so the focus often is naturally on single mothers. Single fathers exist but are rare, When you have a case of a single father it is often as a result of death of the mother and if the mother is alive, the child often has a relationship with the mother and like I said earlier while still not ideal it is not as bad as a single mother. Why because it is one thing to lose a parent due to death, it is another to not know your parent or to be abandoned by a parent or know you were not wanted.. Children who are raised by single fathers are rare and are usually not a result of abandonment. And before I am misinterpreted again I have embolden the “usually”. |
Flamemignon1:Did I say so? Learn to read and understand. I am responsible for what I say, I am not responsible for your poor grasp of English. A child should be raised with both parents, a child should be raised knowing he/ she was wanted. A child and society should not be me made to pay the price of poor irresponsible choices and indiscipline of parents whether father or mother. A child who has not witnessed the proper dynamics of a heathy 2 parent family is by likely to end up damaged and dysfunctional. children of violent homes, single parent homes or parent abandonment by one parent hide a lot of pain, they often vow to correct it but they are often unable to because they don’t know otherwise themselves having not witnessed what it takes to have a stable family. You can’t give what you don’t have. Gay bisexuality, criminality, gangs etc are symptoms of this dysfunction it’s and it is prevalent amongst black Americans because the family unit is broken down. It The black American family is probably the most dysfunctional family unit in the world. It is very rare to find a black American family with father and mother intact, even rarer to find 2 or 3 generations that were raised in a 2 parent environment, no separation, no divorce. Most of them are products of single parenting, unknown fathers, adoption, separation, women with multiple baby daddy,s men with multiple baby mamas etc etc. |
Colson:Whatever the circumstances that leads to a child being raised by a single mother, with the exception of death, the fact is that child be it male of female has a greater likelyhood of ending up damaged and bleeped up. It is not a healthy environment to raise a child male or female. |
Fountainofyouth:Aggression like that is why your son is gay. Single mothers are a nuisance to society, your children see you with different men, you give birth to children from different fathers. You give birth to wayward children, Your daughters are promiscuous having learnt from you and your sons are gay. You overcompensate for the lack of a father and end up with damaged kids, you can’t discipline because you are not a role model. How do you tell your daughter to have value for herself when she sees you with different men. Children learn from what they see and what you do and not what you say. You are a clear and present danger to family values and a functional society. You raise unbalanced children, they make poor choices because they have bad role models and that is why your children themselves tend to have broken marriages if they manage to have one. |
Fountainofyouth:No doubt you are a single mother. You are among the people destroying the fabric of society. |
Fountainofyouth:Where did I say all? This is why you fail exams. Learn to read slowly if you have a problem with English comprehension. I read some where that more than half of black American men are either gay, bisexual or have had a bisexual experience. Men brought up in single parent homes without a father figure have a propensity to end up gay/bisexual. Go and check the statistics of bisexual men in the black community in the USA. Let’s look at just a few off the top of my head Luther Vandross, Eddie Murphy ( who was caught with a transvestite) will smith. They are rumours Obama had gay relations when he was young. What’s the commonality with all of them……single mothers. |
this is what happens to boys brought up by single mothers. |
i thought it was a sienna that rammed into the women and the honda driver ran into the ditch while trying to chase the Sienna? ..at least that is what the eye witness said on channels tv. |
MadamExcellency:bank workets are art of NLC and TUC. the strike was for all worlers not just government workers. As you can see Nigerian workers are not stooopid. |
Traplord09:Like i said, to get the visa to get there you will need your degree certificates. You are more likely to be approved for an immigration visa if you can prove you are educated. |
He is a fool. What if his handwork leads to an opportunity where he has to show his education? For instance what if he has an opportunity abroad, how does he prove he is a graduate? |
obyno82:I won’t argue with you on that. |
You’ve heard what the ambassador said, they are still issuing visas but they are restricting visas because when it was free for all some people went there to sell drugs, form gangs and become prostitutes as part of development program. |
There should be a law prohibiting or limiting the circumstances under which essential services can go on strike. Electricity, water and healthcare workers. I have electricity, so clearly the entire grid is not down. ….add police, fire service and armed forces to the list |
It’s a missed opportunity that El Rufai was schemed out and not in charge of power. I doubt this guy has what it takes to transform the power sector. There are some sectors of the economy where if you really want transformation and tackle entrenched interests, you need gangsters with brains like Wike, ElRufai, etc not gentlemen speaking grammar. Adelabu will the the effectiveness of Tinubus’s delivery unit under Hadiza because I don’t see this one delivering anything. |
Tntsi:Na wah oh! When Buhari won in 2019, you people said democracy was dead and buried, in feb 2023 you said democracy was buried, PEPT again democracy was buried, Supreme Court democracy was buried. Now again you are talking of final burial. How many times do you want to bury democracy? Meanwhile you will carry voters card in 2027 and collect money from fellow mugus for another “final burial” when you lose another election without strategic planning. Abeg let democracy breathe jare. |
Hausa:Oga with due respect you are talking nonsense. Kemi Adeosun grew up in England. Okonjo is more than 60 years old she has lived abroad for more than Obi’s time on this earth. Do you hear fake accents from any of them? My point is he deliberately changed his accent. As you yourself have highlighted, the fact that he changed his accent as soon as he got to the Uk tells you it is deliberate and fake. |
Gajagojo: damola1:Is he the only one that lives abroad? Has he spent as many years abroad as Okocha or Kanu? We know those who have been in the Uk longer than him, they don’t have funny accent, they have the same accent they have when they left for the Uk. Has he been abroad as long as Okonjo Iweala? It is a fake accent, I was born in the uk, i cam back as a 5 yr old before again leaving, I spent more years in the uk than he has been there, I have a Nigerian accent. We know those who have been there longer than him. Don’t tell me what I know. It is a fake accent , it is an accent that betrays inferiority complex probably because of his background. As for the Soyinkas and the Achebes, they were Colonial era Nigerians brought up to speak queens English. They were programmed to speak that way. In their days they not only studied English, many of that era also studied English phonetics/diction as a subject in school…it used to be called oral English. A slave colonial mentality concept. I am sure it has since been scrapped. Nigerians who were brought up in Nigeria post independence and who spent their formative years in Nigeria do not have fake accents. Once you spent your formative years in Nigeria, your accent is fixed. Anyone who has lived abroad will tell you the difference between someone with a fake accent and someone with an inferiority complex seeking acceptance by white. Obis accent is a product of an inferiority complex. Bush man from the ghetto trying to sound like Oyinbo. You rarely see people properly educated with good social status/background speak with a fake accent….like I said it,s a clear sign of insecurity and an inferiority complex. Can he be more Oyinbo than odemwinge? Odenwinge get fake accent? Abeg stop this nonsense. |
Gajagojo:Nauseating If you know me in real life, the moment you speak to me in fake accent I dismiss you immediately, I take an instant dislike to you. I want nothing to do with you. If I tune into the radio and I hear fake accent I switch off. If I am dealing with you one on one I end the conversation, I don’t care what is at stake. It’s so . I remember this girl who was among those shortlisted for a job. The minute she started talking, I just couldn’t stand there and listen to her. I just said ok we’ll get back to you….and never did. Nothing says insecure, pretentious, fake and untrustworthy like a fake foreign accent. |
Mikel can never have the respect, stature and recognition of Kanu and Okocha in Nigeria and around the world. He should gerrout with his fake accent. |
Guyman01:dont let inferiority complex kill you like Mikel. be proud of who you are and be proud to speak in your accent. Many of you who try to fake foreign accents dont ealise its a dead giveaway of someone with an inferiority complex. |
