catechism 841
The Church's relationship with the Mus'lims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Mus'lims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful god, mankind's judge on the last day."[330]

You can imagine the time bomb they call catechism. When it explodes in their face it will be too late to have a rethink. Like you guys have already highlighted, you can see clearly that the Antichrist is seated right in the Vatican and these laymen here revel in one celebrity pope who can't even weild any noticeable spiritual powers save for dark ones. I shudder!!! Huh Look at him approving the one who has not accepted the Lordship and Sonship of God's son in Jesus Christ! And some ~lady~ comes here trying to turn scholarship upside down? She will soon come and start chanting the "judgmental" song soonest - that rhetoric, escapist, and sympathy-seeking lifebuoy statement. They would rather close their eyes (which is refusing to see anyway) to what stares them right in the face all in defense of some popey.

By the way, ~Lady~, how far have you gone with my book "Dignity & Duties of the Priest", can you be honest enough to tell us that you saw what St. Alphonsus Liguori said about a priest falling once a month and that he can still be excused? I hope say the thing never kpai you already. You should be sweating seeing the legitimization of atrocities and sin by your revered fathers i guess.
Car Talk / Re: Motor Accidents You've Watched Or Experienced? by cgift(m): 4:57pm On Apr 24, 2008
Less than two weeks i bought my 1992 Primera and my first time really driving hard. I had wanted to test the ability of my car to run along Apapa Wharf expressway. Was on 120km/h on its way to 140km/h. I was not used to that road but never intended being on the road in ther first place -I had lost my way, so i had to continue on that road and still on high speeds.

Got to a sudden bend, a very sharp one, no prior experience ~ swerved sharply in response inside that bend while leg was still on turtle! Hit the passenger side covet with a serious bang! Finished the chasis on that side. The impact transferred to the drivers side of the vehicle in a rebound and finsihed the driver's chassis too!. Spent hundreds of thousands to fix it but the car never recovered from that shock until i sold it off as scrpa after 4 years of usage after the accident. No injuries (i was belted and still had my hands firmly to the steering) save some particles that flew of the impact to destroy a police vehicle parked on the other side of the road. No airbags imagine!

are priests restrained from withdrawing/resigning from their priesthood, if they no longer can adhere to the rules that they initially accepted?

They are permitted to "sin" yes fall not more than once in a month and they are excused - no penalties according to the authorities. Let ~Lady~ or any catholic counter this if they can.

See their deceit in high places

See how you deceive yourselves imhotep? The council of Trent has it that if anyone does not declare that its the body of Jesus being served as wafer, let him be anathema (which often leads to torture and death). that birthed the Inquisition which was made to save the face of the Catholic church when people discovered their fallacies about the Transubstantiation.

Vatican 2 has changed nothing of these gory laws which makes the world getting prepared for the next Inquisition.

Imhotep, did Vatican two change the law of worshiping the wafers? Now tell me where did your fathers get the injunction to worship the bread when Jesus and his disciples never did?

Tell me. I am waiting. Your lies and escapists strategies will eventually find you out and lets wait while you try hiding by your thin finger this time around. grin

Also reject ALL the books of your bible - which is simply a contracted Catholic bible.

If the contracted bible was not complied by catholics, God would have used other people to compile it. So dont fool yourselves with that no reward compiling thing you claim you did. The same bible you compiled is nailing your coffins here.

There were no bibles but scrolls and texts of the old testament then and even during Jesus's time. Did they not get the message? They did, so people would still have gotten the message where they not to have catholics compile them! Simple as ABC.

To these alqaeda fellas:

If MO admitted that he did not know where he was going and what al'ilah was going to do with him? How can you follow that kind of person. What assurances of salvation do you guys have? Dont you think there i a problem somewhere if your leader never knew what would be happening to him. Jesus was too sure of what he meant and left no one in doubt about his mission and personality.

Jesus, according to even the kuran is alive. Cant you read in between the lines to see that MO was only a deceitful person who had not special powers or grace but dwelt on the power of the sword to breathe terror? MO is still i his grave waiting for judgment. Little wonder when you guys mention he name of Jesus, you say he who has honour, wealth, peace and every good thing, i dont know exactly how you say it. But when you mention your woli's name you pray for him saying may peace, , and whatever go to him (in his grave). You are still praying for your woli. Jesus is made already. You cant comprehend that?

Just keep enjoying an incomplete and unsure leader who claims he is a woli. You obviously like inferiorities.

Now look at the Jesus you say you love, what records of him do you have in your kurihan? You call him your prophet also, where are his prophecies in your kurihan? Why dont you just admit that you have no records of Jesus and that his personality eludes you completely. Your claim for his prophethood is therefore baseless as you dont have records of his works and prophecies in the kurihan. The Bible has messages and prophecies from the prophets of old and we therefore duly call them our prophets. Where are your prophecies of Araham, Noah, Moses, and Jesus? Where are they?

To babs787,

Do you care to know that the bible is a book of prophecy and that very many of its prophecy have been fulfilled. The old testaments talks about the coming, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. This was fulfilled in the new Testament no doubt.

In what way then do you want to compare the bible's authenticity to the kuran which is far from being a book of prophecy? The kuran is just a book of fiction and plagiarism. You know it.

You are trying hard to evade the issue.

How come Jesus told us to remember him (in the Lord's supper) with bread and wine - material things.

Is he not breaking the 2nd commandment? What about worship 'in spirit and in truth'?

No one is saying Jesus should not be remembered. What we are saying is that the Vatican has built so many demonic teachings around the Eucharist such that you guys worship the wafer/bread) and the wine by bowing down to it and doing all sorts which is at variance with what Jesus taught and practiced. So where does the problem lie?

The communion can be very powerful especially if one knows the significance of it but not to be worshiped. It is idolatry when you worship the bread/wafer and the wine. Jesus and is disciples broke the bread and ate it. They did not worship it. Cant you get it? You guys just interpret the bible upside down and even display the effrontery of ratifying one who undermines the Lordship of Jesus. Tufiakwa!

Imohotep,

the signs are all there for you to see. Your pope is kissing the qurihan and you are comfortable with that. Let me open this up a littel. The qurihan is one of the most opposing books to the mission of Christ on earth and your pope approves it.

The qurihan states that Jesus did not die and your pope approves it
It states that Jesus is not God and your pope approves it
It also states that you can kill anybody who insults Is'lam or its prophet MO and ur pope approves it.
It states that all jews should be killed and calls them apes and goats and all sorts, and your pope approves it.

So what does the pope stand for? Falsehood, divisions, sheep in wolf's clothing. Yes! I am however not surprised anyways. No wonder is'lam thinks that the "trinity" that some Christians talk about comprises God, Jesus and Mary ( na wa o!) Delusions in high places.

Coalition of darkness. The doom of the catholic church is clearly spelt in the book of revelations as it is the only one that fulfills that prophecy. The days of the RCC is numbered for the wrath of God to descend upon them.

imhotep:

So why have you been disturbing yourself over Catholics and the Pope

Imhotep, you deceive yourself so much that you make me wonder! When the 2nd Commandments in the bible talked about you not making the image of anything on earth or in heaven and worshiping them, in what was the bread and wine worshiped by Jesus and the apostles? Did they worship it and call it their lord just like you catholics call the Eucharist Christ on the wafer board. Your own god is a wafer, my God is not a wafer and neither can a wafer be my God.

For long, your priests have deceived you into believing that that wafer they give to you is God. How can it be God? It is only a representation of God. You cannot literally eat God my friend. This rebuttal i know was responsible for the massacre of many innocent Christians in those days by the catholic monks for refusing to accept the demonic teaching of the Eucharist that the wafer being eaten is God. Imagine that wafer fall on the ground and trampled by someone, you probably are saying that God is being trampled on the floor under a man's feet right? Can you beat that?

Let me iterate. Jesus did not worship the wafer or bread and wine in the bible as they is no where in the bible that says that unless your catholic bible says so.

Back to the topic. Your understanding of the scriptures and its significance is so warped that the errors and herecies you people are churning out is so alarming, yet you refuse to see it. Bread and wine does not connote a god being worshiped. Your images of mary (of the apparitions) is clearly a violation of the command which says you shall not make the image of anything anywhere. Shikena!

This is really getting more and more interesting. I like your analysis. They are obviously enlightened. Let me give my rebuttals nevertheless.

m_nwankwo:

@cgift,

Thanks for your contribution. God cannot annul the laws he created because he created them out of omniscience. That means that God is all knowing and what ever is his law is immutable and not subject to change. It is only imperfect humans that will create a law, then find out later that it does not work as they thought or that they need to refine it, then the change the law.

Good. I believe that as well that God cannot annul his laws. However, i would not say i fully comprehend your religious inclinations at the moment but i see that you believe in God and also believe in the bible (even if to an extent). That notwithstanding, i think there are some misconceptions we need to iron out and fast too.

m_nwankwo:

1. With God, the past, the present and the future is the same. God created the human body and its template (DNA) such that humans will be able to be a succesful species both with regards to adapting to the new earthly enviroment, transforming it and fufilling the purpose for his or her existence (to recognise the will of God and live accordingly). If God has originally made inbreeding ok in the beginning and then later reprogramed it to result in genetic sucide as you seem to suggest, then that evidence will be found in the DNA. What people seem to forget that in the piece of DNA, you can work back several millions of years and find out how it was then. No evidence that a reprogramming of the human DNA took place anytime. Secondly, if God changed the laws midway, then that suggests lack of all knowing in the first place. Why will God create a law and annul it midway if the original act was perfect and issued from all knowing wisdom? With God the past, the present and future acts will remian the same and will never contradict each other. Sure cgift, God is the alpha and omega but that does not mean that God can change his own laws. Creation is governed by the laws of God and they follow precise course. It is the laws that makes it impossible for God to sin. Indeed God is the living law, the origin of the power that created and maintain these laws. It is the immutability of Gods laws that make it impossible for God to turn stones into bread, to turn mango to humans, etc. It is the same immutable laws that makes it impossible for God to violate the ten commandments. Therefore the saying that all things are possible with God is only true if those things are in harmony with Gods will. It is the same immutability of Gods laws that makes it impossible for God to obliviate evil with a fiat.

God's laws are immutable does not mean that he cannot suspend it to achieve a particular aim or goal.

m_nwankwo:

2. It is impossible to make the sun stand still because the sun is always in motion. That is the way God originally designed it. If the sun stood still as you stated even for a second, there will be overwhelming astronomical evidence to back it up. Indeed if the sun stood still, then simulteneouly, the orbits of planests around the sun will be changed, the orbit of the milky way will be changed and indeed the movement of the whole universe will be changed to accomodate for the slightest stop in the sun. In the part of Norway I live, about June, the sun shines for 24 hours(even in the midnight). High school geography can explain why that is so but several thousands of years the inhabitants of this land thought that at those times the sun stays with them during the summer periods. Even as late as 100 years ago, many cultures still see the complete eclipse of the sun as an intervention from God, yet it is known that such occurrence are the norm within the cylcle of our sun and the moon. God originaly made them that way. Thus I repeat it is literally impossible to make the sun stand still, if it were otherwise we would have seen more of such occurrence and the evidence will be everywhere.

Are you saying in essence that the narration in the bible falls flat on its face as the bible declares that the Sun stood still on the day the Children of is Israel fought against an enemy nation. What scenario then must have taken place if not that the sun stood still physcially? It could not have been reported as an extra-ordinary event when it happened if it had always been like that in that part of the world (my thinking).

m_nwankwo:

3. Yes Jesus, the son of God ascended to heaven, not by annuling the law of Gravity but by fufilling it. I will give explanation on this statement if it becomes necessary. A simple analogy will suffice at this point, birds and airplanes fly by adapting to the physical law of gravity and not by annulling it.

I think i will need further explanations on your submissions there. How do you mean adaptiing the law of gravity to go against gravity? Can i then adapt the same law of gravity to start going upwards into the air?

Jesus walked on the waters, is that not a suspension of some laws of upthrust or whatever the scientists want to call it? The same thing applies to the axe in the time of Elijah that floated from the bottom of the ocean to the surface! I see these occurences as a suspension or call it violation of laws that he made and not an adaptation (whatever you mean by that anyway).

Cheers!

m_nwakwo,

do not forget that God is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. He made laws and can change laws., times and seasons! If you believe the account of the bible about the sun standing still, then why cant you believe that as at that time, ther was no genetic suicide in producing offsprings by two people made of same genetic materials. He probably introduced what yu now call genetic suicide in the later part of our existence to stop in-breeding? Why cant you think about that for a minute?

If that is possible that he could have suspended the same laws he made like making Jesus Ascend into the sky as both the qurihan and the bible has it, thereby debilitating gravity, then he could do so, other laws he made.

Simple enough i guess?

Yet I think that when one section of the bible tells me that Noah took the animals into the ark in pairs and then another section tells me that in fact he took each species in in seven pairs, while it might be easier to dismiss the discrepancy as a triviality, something tells me that there is something being communicated in code by the writer who specifies 7 pairs. If I dismiss it as trivial then I'll be missing something quite important.

You make sense sir. indeed one scripture is a more elaborate repreentation of anothetr one but these guys will not be patient enough to see that. They will immediately label it an error when in actual fact one might be explaining the other in details.

However, for certain issues like discrepancies in number e.g., where it has it in one place the 20 people met Jesus and in another say 10 people, it could be that one writer counted only a certain kind of people and the other write another kind. One could have counted only men and the other everybody without explicitly saying so. Moreso, since some of them did not write their experiences on the spot, there is room for a margin of error as it relates to number narrations as two people will definately report different numbers for even the same event they were both party to!
Religion / Re: The Missing Second Commandment: by cgift(m): 7:41pm On Apr 22, 2008
~Lady~:

Honestly people, if we are to REALLY count the points of the 10 commandments, you will see that it's nt even 10 but 12.

Here is how it is listed in the Bible. I will account according to the points.

1. You shall not have other gods besides me

2. You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on earth below or in the waters beneath the earth

3. You shall not bow down before them or worship them

Catholics hold numbers 1-3 to be one commandment and number 11 and 12 to be separate.
Protestants hold number 1-3 to be separate and hold number 11 and 12 to be the same.
Jews hold the preface "I am the Lord your God" to be one commandment and numbers 1-3 to be one commandment.

So you see they are the same commandment, but counted differently.

Obviously this is fraudulent! Who combined it? Which of the popes? and to serve what purpose? If indeed your people have fused them together, that presupposes that you still hold the protestants #2 command, i.e., thou shalt not make any graven image , in regards right? If so, that brings up a fundamental question then:

If indeed protestants command# 2. You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on earth below or in the waters beneath the earth is what it is literally, how have you guys kept it? Are you sure you have not violated it in anyway with mary's statutes being bowed to and prayed unto? Let me give my understanding of that point #2 :

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: , What is the statute of Mary doing in your cathedrals then? Whom in the bible have the Catholics done this after? Again, why bowing down to it? When it is very explicit that you should not bow down to anything made with men's hands.

Let me give you another poser! Having another god does not and cannot be grouped as bowing down to another god. You can have gods without necessarily having a physical representations for them. Hence, the clear separation of the first command. It clearly antagonizes you setting up a god different from Yahweh in your mind like we Protestants serve God with our spirits without any physical structures erected.

The second refers to the physical structures/images like you have in the catholic church and states that you should not construct them to serve them or bow down to them. Of course, they could not have erected a structure for the fun of it without wanting to serve it back then. So, you should not have separated points 2 and 3 as serving different commands. They are one and only one in my humble opinion.

I think you only try to create more confusion doing a hard job trying to separate them when they are naturally one.

Strife just wants to be stirred up because of hatred. Imhotep let them be, they will soon burn out their souls. Clearly having disregard for the greatest commandment "You shall love your God and your neighbour as yourself"

Cgift, JeSoul, 4Him and others, this holier than thou attitude will only lead you to darkness. Olabowale, keep out of this discussion.

I think you should remove that protectionist garb of yours and discuss issues. Don't raise false alarms of hatred! Again, no one hates!

While this is not to be seen as a war, it should be taken that there is something fundamentally wrong somewhere within the walls of catholicism. Have you asked yourselves fellow Imhotep, ebos, oby1, ~lady~, lawyer, orobo 50cl, (all catholic friends), et al why your authorities have decided to jettison a critical part of the commandments that God Himself wrote only to put their their own thoughts to play and feed you laity with it?

Could it be that they have something up their sleeves? If they do what is it? Imhotep, if truly you are truth conscious, then you should shudder at that omission assuming this is the first time you are seeing it stare you in the face like this.

cheerio!

imhotep:

I suggest you go and study the Catholic catechism. The treatment of the Ten commandments starts here => http://www.vatican.va/archive/catechism/p3s2.htm

I think i am beginning to know where you belong imhotep. Its obvious you are being mischievous and untruthful to yourself. If someone is deceiving you, i think it is better than you deceiving yourself. I think my challenge was lucid enough. The topic is very direct; talking about the ten commandments. Do you have the balls to list them accordingly? Show us the direct links in that same Vatican site that has all the ten commandments they are teaching you.

You use all sorts of names but you yourself are docking and not being truthful to yourself. The question remains: why did the Catholic Church redefine the ten commandments? Why? Why would God write with His finger on a tablet and some mortals alter the content and order and give it to you to follow and yet you come here saying all sorts of things that dont sound convincing even to you!

Are you in a cult where even if an error or serious heresy is discovered, you still prefer to go on with it like that? Is it to justify your worship of mary of the apparitions not of the bible) that they removed the second commandments as it relates directly to your veneration of mary? We are listening. Help our"shallow reasoning?" we want to know.

I have not lost anyone in the crusades, neither did i loose anything to any catholic, so why should i hate? Forget that your attempt to draw sympathy by labeling us haters. Face the issues that stare you in the face my bro. Must you stick to an error? Admit error in your doctrines or Catechism and we move on! Simple!!! Why did they split commandment ten into two?

Can you be bold enough bro to alter what God has written? Is that not removing from the scriptures? Do you know what that means? This is it: Re 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

@Rockchic
Basically the first response your issue will draw is "forget the dude and move on", but there's also the aspect of he/she wearing the shoe knowing where it pinches most.
How long hav u dated this guy?
How financially buoyant is he? If you are also employed, wont it be a plus to the relationship/future family?
What are his actual reasons for the "Vision 2013" (2008+5)?
How strong is your relationship with him?
What kind of personality is your guy?
What is his background and upbringing like?
What is the intensity of his love for you (on a scale of 1 to 10)?
How strong are both of you spiritually?
Have you tried having a dialogue with him to find out his reason(s) for the 5-yr stretch?
Is there any possibility for a "Vision 2010 or 2011"?
Has he considered the medical issues?
Or is HE looking for an easy exit from d relationship?

So before you take any decision, be it leave or stay, I guess you shld explore all available options thoroughly.
Dialogue, remains an import tool to use.

Best of Success and Godspeed!

word!!!

It all depends. She needs to be sure she knows the guy and that the guy is not easily susceptible like me. If he is very resolute when it comes to marriage like me, then she can stay after giving her his word. Simple!!!

Fellow Nairalanders,

Here i am again. No dark goggles. My Catholic friends will need to convince me why they have nine commandments instead of ten in their Catechism. I have raised the question over and over again yet, they duck it. If there is anyone interested in telling us the rationale behind it, let them come on board to educate us.

The second commandment in the bible says : Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

What do we have in the Catholic Catechism as the second commandment of God? Here we go:

Thou shalt not take the name of they Lord God in vain.

That means the commandments according to the RCC should be short of one since they have removed one. Right? But you are wrong! We now have commandments ten in the bible split into two and taken as one commandment each! They have taken the issue of covetousness and split it into numbers 9 and 10. Amazing i guess.

Catechism has Commandment nine as Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor' wife.
Catechism has Commandment ten as Thou shalt not covet they neighbor' goods.

Its just one verse in Exodus 20:17!

So is some wrong somewhere? Let us dissect this my feofle!

Get used to this. There is very little your disguised envy can do about it.

I hear o. That man is a great man. Leader of hundreds of millions of people. its not easy really. But note God is not moved numbers. He once wiped out almost everyone on earth.

My problem is why does he kneel down before Mary's statute to pray and even bow to it? God had said that thou shalt have no other gods beside him. 1Jo 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen
