Every one who has got the Spirit of God resident in him, would know that
1.The Holy Spirit is one as the Father(God himself), the Son(Jesus the Word of God).
The word says that his words are SPIRIT, Life and Truth.

Let me explain. the Holy Spirit is the one which proceeded out of the father; God's Spirit In other words, each time God spoke a word, the Holy Spirit goes into action. eg in the book of Genesis, God Said 'Let there be Light' and the Holy Spirit moved on the surface of the earth and there was light.

2. Jesus, the Spoken word of God was 'made flesh and dwelt among us' How? when Mary was conceived of the Spirit of God. He(Jesus) was 100% Spirit and 100% man on earth.

Now its even more exciting to know that the Spirit of God now resides in us Believers. because Jesus said it was expedient for him to go 'back to the father' so that 'Allos Parakletos'(another of the same kind) would come and dwell with us without measure.
Question is DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE POTENCY OF GOD'S WORD?

So why would any one want to allow what is not in his heritage as a child of God cleave unto him? I think the chapter is quite explicit in addition to[b] Ps. 91[/b] except if Pilgrim wants to disagree with the fact that sickness in question here is embebbed in the 'plagues' of the chapter.

If looking Good makes a Good Christian then we don't need Christ. Christ was poor according to the standard of today.
How?

He did not have a house why? Because people would have said that Jesus dwells in that house and my catholic friends would have said that is New Jerusalem.

He did not have a Chariot and did not ride on a Horse becasue men would hav started worshipping it and convereted it to their gods

he walked on Foot - just to show of his humility

But according to his standard he was sufficient he wasnt poor. There was a time there was no food for the people( was it the best ? No) He provided for them. why? From the biblical Mary to your pope, they were(are) all sinners that Christ came to die for. In the real sense of it, you should be praying to Joseph because it was though him that the promise of the Messaih was fulfilled. It was Joseph, who was an offspring of David as prophesied by the prophets not Mary grin

What uncouth statement that is? Who coaxes whom? I will use one church I have worshipped sometime ago as an Winners Chapel, Uyo. This is a church were you have commissioners, business moguls, etc. They have different teams in the in the church. Through offerings and willful donations, the church raises funds. Th church is 'rich'. They have prison ministry, motherless, widows, etc., ministries. THey fund all these different units to affect the lives of people in need and under the bondag of satan. Is it because the ydont make an open show of it like JEsus made an open show of the devil?

Now to their very needs that would make them worship in a good atmosphere, they also have the resources to by modern instruments, build larger terbanacles to house more people and make them very comfortable while in church and all of that. Would you want to worship in the rain all bacause you 'love' God when you could have used the money he provided to build good centres? Would you want to gather undr severe heat all in the name of being what?

So, i do not understand when people cast aspersions at churches having great buildings. Go and ask how beautifully decorated God's temple were ack in those days. Do you think God abhors affluence? He says he owns th cattle on a thousand hills, silver and gold are mine (Hagg. 3 : cool

. If you com to me a very rich man for instance in a rickety and stinking dressing carrying on funny suit on you in the name of coming to preach, you think even if i accept yur christ, i will com to that your church under normal circumstances? BIG NO!! Lets not deceive ourselves.

Now talking about churches not impacting the poor, like i said, it is not all stories you will know because theyaren't heathen philantropists. Som however are failing in this responsibilities.

Bottom line: God knows those who are really fulfilling the call. So chill-out!

People are schooled in various departments such that you would only now best what you ar majored in. In other words, look at a department with several units. If the department runs like what i have in my office, thn a unit head may not know what obtains in the other unit and vic versa though they are in the same department. Th departmental head however knows what happens in all the units reporting to him. Why hav i used this analogy?

The meaning of image in that passage as revealed in some scriptures i will pass across to you is not the physcial resemblance of a thing. It goes far more than that. I am yet to see a scripture that can prove unequivocally that God has two (2) hands and two (2) legs, one head, 2 eyes, etc like we humans. But what really could the bible be saying about creating man in his image and likeness? Read on,

The wordweb, # 4, defines image as A standard or typical example of something. # 5, it also defines it as Language used in a figurative or nonliteral sense. Whilst, if you say as it relates to man that somebody is an image of his father, you mean one of two things: 1) that he physically resembles his father either facially or in body structure or 2) that he has copied his father's character.

Because we have not seen God as you correctly posited, we are left to explore the scond option, i.e. character. Let us go to God's words, the bible for the answer.

Colossians 3: 10 says , and have put on the new man, that is being renewed in knowledge after [/b]the [b]image [/b]of his Creator, Mark the words, Knowledge after the Image.

also consider: [b]Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which [b]after [/b]God is created in [b]righteousness [/b]and true [b]holiness.

The image being referred to is having knowledge like God. We have not attained this position yet, but we know all things by the help of his Holy Spirit.

The likeness [/b]as you can see is referring to being [b]like God in righteous and holy living. So at creation, man was in God's image. He knew things: he had the wsdom of God as he could name all the animals one after the other and it went well with God. He had God's kind of knowledge. He saw Eve for the first time and could recognise that this is the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh (who told him, she was mad from his bones (rib) despite the fact that he was put to sleep by God before the operation? Amazing isn't it?

He also went ahead to name her "Woman", like man what a powerful inherent knowledge.

He was holy like God,. He was righteous like God. God could fellowship with man like his mates. They could reason together, they were at 'same' level because they were of the same order just like Christ is after [/b]the order of 'Melchizdek'. I wish i could go on and on. But this little should suffice.

Storm, that is what we have been saying that what you have mostly (in my opinion) amongst Catholic believers are androids (people - who take what the god of Rome (the pope) tells you in doctrines including Mariolatory (the worship of Mary - the saviour of Rome) through your priests. People have refused to read the bible (you people gave us by what you claim) for themselves. These things are in that same bible. Read for yourselves. Look at what Mosetra [/b]just said about her experience. Until she said she had left, i was going to ask how she was coping with people of a different doctrine.

To tell you the truth, the catholic church (CC) is more political. Do you know what [b]concordats [/b]are? Heard about the [b]papacy? Do you know the vatican believes Mary is the saviour instead of Jesus?. They will continue to deny these things but what i know is that they do not practice what they preach.

I for one, i am very wary of a priest in the CC because i know he can do when pushed against the wall or even tempted.

Now iyke_001 [/b]is saying we should not judge the CC by its past. But you do not know what is going on in the Vatican. Do you know these men will always try to get involved in politics and cladenstinely positioning their men to take control of power? The aim of the Vatican is to seize political power. The CC is well represented in the bible in the book of Revelation. Will give you insights if you care.

Now some apologists will say "[b]do not read books that are written by anti-catholics. So they expect a practicing catholic to write against the CC! How comical. MOreover, these people you call antiCC are so only because most Cs have refused to open up their minds and allow intellectual discourse.

Have you ever wondered why the Catholic Church and Islam have very many things in common? Ponder a while,

The church has a principle of inclusion which states that the end justifies the means. Hope you can read in betwen the lines.

I would re-christen you guys to be The Catholic Church of Anti-Protestants because the Vatican seem to be at peace with any religion that fights protestansim. I wonder how many bibles you have burnt if not that Islam ditched it, it would have being a very formidable force against Christainity but mind you Christainity as advocated by the protestants you are aversed to thrive more in during opposition. Learn church history in the bible!

Ok. Enough of all these felicitations.

ebos, you see i have a problem with some peoples attitude as i have seen so far.

One of your brethren called us "trolls" because we are trying to rub minds. Aren't they polished? Dont they understand what 'good communication is at all' do they not know what virtue are? Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.. They need to brush up their bibles. I am convinced with the attitude of many of your brethren that they can kill protestants (after all you call us separated brethren) just like in the days of old which forced your pope to apologise recently. That apology may not have been sincere afterall 'cos i haven't seen any change in attitude.

Ok lets calm down but i hope its not that most catholics think they have the right to sin and misbehave anytime in as much as they can still run to Mary and the priest to confess their sins and then they are freed. That's by the way sha!

Kissing the Quran is not a surprise to me: if you are very familiar with the origins of Islam, you would know that it was the violent history of Islam espcially against Christains that drew the support of Catholicsim towards them (Islam). How can a pope, who is considered to be infallible and a "spokemans" of God approve of a religion that slanders Christ? If your pope can do this and all you can say is we do not understand his actions, i doubt then if you Catholics are ready to stand up to the truth.

Th most important thing is striking a balance amongst all the kep pillars of Christ's work on the cross without leaving anyone to suffer just like Jesus told the pharisees, that this you should have done without leaving the other undone! i.e., We need to preach Salvation, Prosperity, Healing, and all entwined together, clearly though, i mean balanceing it. This is presently missing today.
