Christianity EtcRe: Biblical Contradictions: What should we believe by cgift(m): 8:16pm On Aug 22, 2007
Kuns: Christianity is the spiritual power of the cau-asian. By worshipping they images (pale albino) we are put under the spell of ignorance. As the negroid is the father and mother of every other race.
I think we are getting somewhere. Who says christainity started with the white man. Well thats not the topic of discourse. What images are you talking about because i do not worship an image that i see. Th Bibles says catgorically that thou shall not make the image of anything on earth, heaven or whatsoevr to worship it. That is explicitly stated in the ten (10) commandments.

Kuns: You do no see the chinese or Indians fighting and arguing amongst themselves about the europeans religions. Yet there are diong very well economically and politically.
You will agree with me that the conomy of a nation does not affect in any traceable manner the progress of that nation.

Kuns: Jesus is Zeus and Zeus is the God of the europeans. Krishna (Kristos/Christ) is the God of the Asian.
This is far-fetched really because there is no evidence. They are two distinct personalities that lived in different ages. So how can one be the other?

Kuns: Who are you really worshipping?
God the Father through Jesus, by the help of the Holy Spirit but not concorted by any image.

There has NEVER in the history of mankind been a race, a nation or a civilization of people that have over any extended period prospered, thrived or survived with their hands out waiting for someone else to provide for them we the black people have listened to the lies of the pastors and imams way too much for anything positive to happen to us while the white people are out there using their brians and simple logic to get things done we arre there hoping on god to do everything for us.
I do not understand this post very wll pardon me. I do not see the relationship btw being religious and backwardness. Th nation is not backward because of religion. i think that is obvious enough. It is backward because of several other reasons such as not being true to ourselves espcially the leadership. Anybody that has refused to add value to his life and his community has done so not because his pastor or Imam told him not to but because he has refused to take up that responsibility either due to constraints by the society or even his own background and xposure.

the Pastors tha i know these days help you to situate your dream as a world changer and even encourage you to achieve against all odds. What we are only hoping on God for are the things that are beyond our control.

IDINRETE: I am devoid of knowledge in Astronomy or Astrophysics, could you please explain or shed more light on how the star went before the wise men, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
My dear IDINRETE (IDI for short), no the bible did not say the star led them to the place where the infant was but it is natural to start thinking that way but it will become a sort of mind editing to think that way. That conclusion culd only have been read in the mind into the text since it was not stated. How they got to know where the chld was i dont think should pose any issue at all.

IDINRETE: I know that stars hurtle in the sky but it is extremely difficult if not impossible to recognise the same star that hurtles in the sky if you are following the star with your eyes among the million of stars in the sky.Is it possible that the star the wise men had seen in the east was moving slowy across the sky? I know that all the stars that I have seen in the sky they hurtles and not moving in a slow motion. I don't understand how the wisemen could have gazed their eyes on the particular star and be able to navigate their journey to the manger where the star stood and still be able to recognise the same star in the sky.
.

They would have fallen into ditches several times if they had only gazed at stars to direct thm. In fact they would have found themselves in Asia grin .More seriously, other means of getting at their destination would have sufficed but the bible was silent about it. Today there are several ways the Spirit of God in us talks to us to lead us.

shango:
would any of us be Christian if we were not colonized?
Yes they subjugated us. Their motives was mixed no doubt. But thank God the good side of their intentions which is to reveal Christ to us was not lost on us. If you discard christainity because the people who brought it raped your values without looking at the substance of their mssage, it would be a case of throwing away the baby and the bathtub.

shango: Now we are just being naive. Europeans brought Christianity to our shores and into the continent. The same reason you are Christian is the same reason we are speaking English right now. No one put a gun to my head to speak or learn English but that is the reality due to a history of colonization.
The reason why you cant compare your language to your religion is simple. You become limited in your communications. Your religion does not ostracise you. Socialisation forces you to know how to spak English but cannot force you to becom a christain.

shango: What facts? That the religion the people that subjugated you brought and told you was not barbaric and is enlightened is superior to your native religion? That is fact. Wow. Why not change your name to John and drop your last name and call yourself and European then.
Like i said, i have no business with the roots of christainity now just like you have no business with the roots of the network provider MTN though i use their network. Let me xpound more on th analogy. When MTN came, the yrippd people off with very high rates, told a lot of lies about not being able to do psb(per second billing) and offered poor services. Today they have done well but people are not looking at their roots to now say they wont subscribe to their services. What people now look at is the present satisfaction they derive from their services. In the same way, i would not look at the roots of Christainity in Africa to form the basis of not "subscribing" to Christainity. What matters most to me is what i gain prsently and also stand to gain. So the issue of the roots in Africa does not hold water at all. What is key is: do i benefit from it?

But i guess we have free choice and if you choose to believe that your indigenous religion and culture is looking in the opposite direction then well, that is your decision.
The bible in really based on myth and tales (belief). We are not to believe anything. By believing you will be under the spell of leviathan.
If you do not believe anything, you live in fear 'cos, you are not sure of th water you drink even from your own fridge anymore. You drink it without hesitating or thinking twice because you "believe", i.e. confident about it that when you tak it, you wont be harmed. You cannot sit on a chair again cos you are not sure if it will collapse under you. You see we definately live as human beings with considerable consciousness of a belief system.
This spell affects the negro the most and completely cuts them off from the roots and ancestorage. And without knowledge of your ancestors you are nobody.

The europeans hate it when africans remember their ancestors, that is the main purpose of re-legion, to possess the negroid with the evil hynotic spell of belief, where they will worship the images (ghost) of the cau-asians.
Sincerely I dont not see what this has to do with the subject matter. It does not really bother me if they hate my remmbering my ancestors. What do i need it for in the first place?
Consider these contradictions (lies) , concerning Judas

Matthew 27: 5 " And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself."

Acts 1: 18 "Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out."
I do not have access to theoriginal texts of these scriptures but the larger conclusion of the matter is that Judas committed suicide. That is the central theme just like the centrality of all the four gospels revolces around the birth, suffering, crucifixtion, and resurrection of Christ. That is the larger picture of the gospels despite all the "contraditions" you may spot among them. I think th most crtical issues would be: 1) did this event ever happen? 2) are the accounts that we have about the event similar and 3) What are the broad submissions.

These are the very critical thing to note. Translations over the years definately would have changed the meanings of some passages coupled with language limitations and vocabulary usage.

Shango,

Do you becuase you were born into something remain in it when you have all facts pointing in the opposite direction? I dont think so. As larned people, we would rather weigh the little we can of all things and then make informed decisions as long as we remian true to ourselves. My surname starts with "Ogun" and i guess you know what that means but i am not a worshipper of Ogun or shango or anything/object/god whose power/influence/reality is insiginificant when compared to the power of my Lord Jesus. Every other kneel bows in open contests at the mntion of that name. It is really fun to be a christain experiencing the powr of God in everyday living. Come and see devils tremble in torment. Oh! I cant fathom th awesomeness of that name. Christ's power as i hav come to experience (i mean not in theory) is more tangible than any thing you can see. Its a prsonal experience thing. I wont keep my self abased when there is something better! No No Bros.

The lie posted by Pilgrim.1 on the 12.08.07 @ 04:41:19 PM

And don't start quoting Paul the Liar, now Mrs pilgrim.1. Show us where Jesus said pray and worship me or pray to me(Jesus).

So I ask you again Who are the sons of God spoken about in Genesis 6:2-4 if Jesus was the only begotten son of God? (John 3:16)?
Matthew 2:1 ¶Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. These internationally acclaimed men from the Orient had gotten a revlation and sought to worship the infant Jesus. Can you see the glory inherent right from infancy despite being born in a manger?

Also Kuns, we pray to God our Father through Jesus Christ our God. He said in John 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: He knew his name was going to be exalted than every other name on earth.

Jesus is God manifested in the flesh that is why we pray to him, by him, through him and in him. It is not mathematics/science. God is too big to be analysed in your cerebrum. That is the truth. Live with it.

The christain faith remains an enigma. It requires the spiritually quickened heaRT to discern thats why i dont expect to convince you in anyway by what i post here. i can only corrct a few impressions. No one can defend God. He would do that himself if you bring him to your courts shocked .(Hope that's not too much to swallow).

Christianity EtcRe: Was Jesus Married And Did He Fake His Death? by cgift(m): 2:34pm On Aug 22, 2007
Do not disturb urself @poster. Wait until then when you shall c things for yourself. Christainity and Islam both admit that h is coming back. He is alive, He that was dead. He comes back and these things would judge everyman who have denied his existence in judgement.

The truth of the matter is, you cannot live the way yu like because there are consequences. You are just better off if u believe on Him cos you ve got nothing to loose in the end if it happens that the whole thing is real. (if you prefer to have it told to you that way though.)

Christianity EtcRe: Tithes: Who Should Pay? by cgift(m): 1:39pm On Aug 22, 2007
Has anyon ver considered this scripture very well.

TV, you quoted it in passing.

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Christ said emphatically, this YOU OUGHT TO HAVE DONE WITHOUT LEAVING THE OTHER UNDONE. In other words, pay tithes and also observe the law, mercy, faith etc. This is certainly an instruction to pay tithes. The modalities however would b another issue altogther hch can very well b xpounded.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Jesus Christ God? by cgift(m): 12:21pm On Aug 22, 2007
Pilgrim,
I can see that you have a fight-to- finish spirit. I like it. Very nice but you nd to consider some things. No one can explain the spiritual seamlessly. There is so much mystery inherent in Christainity that man’s intellect no matter how vast can comprehend. That’s why the bible says “, how unsearchable are his ways, and his paths pat finding out…” The truth of the matter is this, o matter how hard you try to convince a man whose heart is mad up by engaging him him in an intellectual battle, he will always find a place to attack you espcially since you were not the one who wrote the bible and more especially, translations have created so much distortions of the originally intended meaning of many passages. Its actually a result of the limitation of the English language as well as a language limitation of the scholars who did the translation. They will always find errors. That is sure. There are however very obvious and indisputable truths that form the bedrock of our salvation as christains. The birth of Christ and his death and the release of the Holy Spirit of God who now in-dwells us.
These things are enigmatic and very esoteric to be comprehendable by the natural man. It takes the Spirit of God to do arrests and convictions of hearts. Lok at what Jesus said in John 12:
46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.
47 If anyone listens to my sayings, and doesn't believe, I don't judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He who rejects me, and doesn't receive my sayings, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke, the same will judge him in the last day.
49 For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 I know that his commandment is eternal life. The things therefore which I speak, even as the Father has said to me, so I speak.”
Let me address one of Kuns concerns about Rms 3:7. For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory;
Kuns, I believe you are reading this portion out of context. For greater comprehension permit me to show other verses in the same chapter of Romans 3:
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Paul was saying that we men have all missed it bcause we are inherently evil just like what is in the world today where no body teaches a kid to lie, he wakes up one morning and starts lying , fighting, and doing many wrong things without being taught. Why? Bcause his heart is naturally evil. This follows from what God said about man that prompted him to destroy the first world in Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. It was in this refrence that paul was saying, all men are liars and God the only true (righteous) one. Verse 10 of Rms 3 then throws more light by saying 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: . Vers 23 goes on to say For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; including the child born yesterday, not because h has sinned but because he inherited sin.
Put short, Paul was not saying he had to lie to convert people to christainity. That would be outrageous my dear Kuns.

Back to som other issus raised by Kuns.

Kuns:
Circumise male children (Luke 2: 21), Paul said: Circumcision is Not Necessary (Roman 2: 26) That is going against what Christ said in Luke 2: 21.
Kuns, Christ did not say you should be circumsised in that scripture. That scripture actually implies that He was actually circumcised by His parents. This was done to fulfil tradition from th law of Moses and had a spiritual undertone from the old tstament (OT). The OT is actaully a shadow of things to come in the New Testament (NT). While they were circumcised of the flesh during those days, Gods intention was to have their heart (spirit man and not literal heart) circumcised (purged, cleaned) of the foreskin (the inherited sin and guilt) in the new order of things. See Jeremiah 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

All what Paul tried to do was to tell you that as a result of the new order of things, if you do not get circumcised physically, it amounts to nothing since what is mor important is the spiritual circumsition. This affirms what was in th old testament. Also see Jeremiah 9:25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;

So also all the "seeming" contraditions painted by you Kuns have deep spiritual meanings. I can always give you the meanings of this but i am not keen to going back and forth leading to prolonged arguments.

I hope i hav been able to contribute a useful piece no matter how terse.
Lets be civil in addressing ourselves as a point of note. Luv you all.

Regards,
