If you are poor, why does the Senate take home more than U.S senators?
Why does the Presidency budget billions for their kitchen?
Why do they spend billions to rehabilitate every time?
Why do they spend billions on new cars every 2 to 4 years?
...
Rubbish
Sowore 2019
Nigeria has A LOT of money!
It is corruption and mismanagement that makes us poor through pilfering of the money by politicians.
Even the cost of that Nigerian government Mercedes Benz is 3 times the cost of the same car if it were used by South African President. Nigerian politicians are beyond thieves!
TUANKU: If you're asked to provide evidence/proof to back up your claims you will have none. Making such baseless accusations is an insult to the victims too. You claim to know it's a terrorist attack but yet you can't say who or which group or even their motives. Is this the first time a tanker has caused deaths in the south east? Nwane stop with the falsehood, playing victim and the tribal card won't get you no sympathy. RIP to those who lost their lives.
Can you provide proof the September 11 attack in the USA was a terror attack?
The proof is in the unnatural coincidence of 4 planes crashing the same day in the USA.
The proof of the Onitsha terror attacks is the unnatural coincidence of several petrol tankers suddenly exploding the same period in the same city!
Like September 11th, where the planes that suddenly crashed were flown by people from a certain part of the world, these tanker explosions in Anambra are by drivers from northern Nigeria.
MERCHANDISER: Should Obiano step his foot here, we will deal with him, the only good governor we have is Peter Obi. Watch the video and have your say. According to them any state government can't provide a fire service to quench fire outburst has failed. This is height of insensitivity"
The so called "angry youths" are political thugs who have found it hard to continue their criminal activities in Anambra due to Obiano's security set up.
Did Obiano send the Petrol tanker that exploded or did Obiano ask the fire service to be so negligent of their duties?
Obiano is trying his best to secure the state and the new fires tactics is something that will be addressed too. These criminals already know what will happen to them when they attempt to loot goods from the fire disaster areas. That is the true reason they are "angry"
TUANKU: Those making allegations of terror attacks should provide proof/evidence to back their claims up. Fear mongering is not a good thing. Jumping to conclusions based on sentiments. A petrol tanker intended for terrorism would be utilised in a way to cause maximum casualties not just a handful of people. You people need to stop these baseless claims except of course you have evidence to back it up. RIP to the victims, in the name of Jesus son of nwa Chineke.
[/s]
Crap! Nobody is fooled by you guys posting with many monikers.
Why is it that people from a certain tribe are the people desperately trying to make sure the terror attacks going on are not recognized for what they are?
For your information, everyone already knows that this is a terrorist attack going on in Anambra right now. The questions now is WHO is behind it and WHY?
The Chief Fire Officer for Anambra state, Engineer Agbili. O Martin has been sacked by the governor of the state Chief Willie Obiano for not responding to the Fire situation at Upper Iweka Onitsha on Wednesday.
This is a very good development. Now he should be replaced quickly by somebody that is willing to do the job than give silly excuses. We have all seen that there is a coordinated terror attack using petrol tankers that is currently going on. Our Fire service must be run by a Chief Fire Officer that is able to wake up morning or night to direct emergency fire fighting to any where in the state.
This isn't the time to sleep. Some people are bent on burning down the state and killing innocent citizens using petrol tankers as bombs.
ip: Onitsha Terror Attacks: Another fuel tanker explodes in Onitsha
Barely 24 hours after a tanker laden with petroleum products fell into a ditch and spilled its contents in Onitsha, Anambra, which led to an explosion, another tanker laden with fuel has collapsed in the state, causing panic. The new tanker tragedy occurred in the early hours of Friday, October 18, 2019, in Amagba Phase 2, Onitsha area of the state.
At the time of this report, casualty figures cannot be confirmed nor can the cause of the incident be ascertained. But video circulating on the internet shows onlookers on the site of the exploded tanker.
As reported on Pulse, the Wednesday, October 16, 2019 tanker explosion incident, claimed the lives of five persons, including a woman and her child.
More so, more than 100 shops were reportedly razed and goods such as clothing and electronic appliances were affected by the fire.
Now it is obvious even to the doubting Thomases that these so called petrol "Tanker Explosions" are well coordinated terrorist attacks on the innocent residents of Onitsha city.
The State government and security agencies should immediately ban unescorted fuel tankers from entering into the city. An urgent strategy is needed to curb further explosions inside highly populated markets. The faceless people using petrol tankers to bomb the city should be found urgently and stopped before more people die from these terror attacks
gwafaeziokwu: Most of them are not Igbos. No true Igbo with the current political climate in Nigeria will throw up such rubbish. Today, I can authoritatively conclude that globemoney moniker is a comfirmed illiterate. If he is part of Obiano's media team then our governor has low standard for employment. His government seems to be an all comers affair.
GBAM!
No true Anambra person will talk about fellow Igbos in such derogatory way. It is not part of our culture to do so. It is those unemployable, mentally deranged shrimps such as Chino who go around creating multiple monikers to try their best and plant a seed of hatred among Ndigbo.
Those of us who have been here for ages know their standard trick. If you say something good about one Igbo state, he would immediately use another moniker to bring another Igbo state into the issues. Then use another moniker to respond to his own post claiming he is defending the first state. Gradually lower minds are fooled into thinking this state and that are at logger head and they would join the nonsense. Such characters have two principal goals: 1. To rubbish Igbo threads so that no sensible person would post ideas for our leaders there 2. To help create and foster a feeling of hatred and disunity among Igbos so they will continue to be oppressed as a divided people in Nigeria.
What shocks me is the number of people this guys ends up fooling each day. I think we should cultivate the habit of highlighting his posts and crossing them out each-time. Then simply type: "CRAP! Please go find an job!"
That way it will be clear that we saw his crap and didn't fall for his tricks. It helps the less people who would easily join in his trap to know other just ignored it and they should too.
This is one States budget in USA And still some of you think Nigeria can be like USA anytime soon.
Nigeria's budget #8.2trillion naira = 22.6 Billion United States Dollar
New York's budget 175 Billion United States Dollar = 63.3 Trillion Nigerian Naira
And you guys are expecting Miracle from where
Lol.... at Nigerians... They want economic growth, yet anything that will bring economic growth, they will kill because of tribalism
Nigeria is actually doomed unless it can somehow re-invent itself through a detribalized leader. Right now, only a military coup may save Nigeria. Only an honest military man with patriotic zeal may reset Nigeria and kill tribalism. I wonder if such patriotic soldiers still exist?
I can see some Nigerian tribalists already asking for the names of those children before they decide if they will sympathize on the plight of some of them or not.
Deepfeel: Onitsha was the biggest market in West Africa, everything in Onitsha was completely destroyed during the biafran war , if not Onitsha should have been more industrial than Lagos
Onitsha is the second largest city in Nigeria - FACT!
In the 1950s the British named: Lagos Onitsha and Kano in that order as Nigeria's biggest cities and this trend has never changed since independence.
It was during the fake censuses conducted by Nigerian dubious regimes that tried in vain to rank Onitsha below these cities. Still, credible international institutions such as DEMOGRAPHIA have come out to emphatically state that ONITSHA is among the largest cities in Nigeria, despite the lies told by Nigerian census.
A cursory observation of the population of Onitsha and the expansive city sprawl in comparison to other Nigerian cities as Kano or Lagos will easily reveal this FACT!
Nigeria Has A New International Airport In Asaba by Andrew Curran September 9, 2019
Asaba, the capital city of Delta State in Nigeria, is ready to receive international flights again after the Nigerian Government gave it the tick of approval. According to a report in CH-Aviation, the Government has fast-tracked this approval. Hadi Sirika, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister is reported as saying the airport met “requirements” and that the Government did not want to wait any longer.
Aero Contractors is one of a couple of airlines currently flying into Asaba.
Asaba is located nearly 500 kilometres due east of Lagos. A census held 13 years ago put the local population at about half a million people. Whilst Asaba has long had an airport, it was previously a ramshackle affair and most locals used Benin City. The ‘new’ airport was rebuilt between 2008 and 2011 by the state government.
While the idea of the airport was fine – connecting Asaba locals to wider Nigeria and the world, it was also very much a vanity project. And like so many infrastructure projects, the building process was torturous. Once some initial flights began in 2011, Delta State Governor was reported in FlashPoint saying;
“I am so happy with this achievement. My dream has come true and all those who criticized the project will now shut up their mouth”.
A difficult time for Asaba Airport The first customer at Asaba Airport was Overland Airlines. Commercial flights commenced from Asaba in July 2011. At the time, Delta State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Christopher Ogeah said;
“Overland Airline is going to be the premier operator of this airport at the beginning and I can assure you that other Nigerian indigenous airlines are also going to join them and make this a lucrative route for the airlines.”
It didn’t quite work out that way. Reportedly, by 2013, Asaba Airport was doing steady business. The Delta State Government was quoted as saying the airport was handling on average 260 flights a month and 6,880 passengers a month. At the time, both Overland Airlines and Arik Airlines linked Asaba with Lagos and Abuja.
Arik Air flew into Asaba until 737’s were banned from using the airport. Photo: Biggerben via Wikimedia Commons. But in 2015, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority stepped in and downgraded the airport’s capacity. According to The Guardian, the rundown runway, taxiways, lack of perimeter fence and poor personnel training meant larger jets like 737s could no longer use the airport, limiting scheduled passenger services to Overland Airlines’ ATR72s.
Restoration work at the airport
In 2016, work commenced on restoring the runway to a decent condition. Turboprop flights were able to keep operating for most of the time the work took place. The runway is 3.4 kilometres, theoretically able to take a 747. Like regional Governments everywhere, the Delta State Government had big ambitions for their airport.

Now the Nigerian Government is satisfied, the airport is able to safely get back to business and land jet aircraft. Whether the airport attracts any international services beyond ad hoc charters and publicity flights is another matter.
EgyptAir had a short-lived service between Asaba and Cairo but that appears to have been discontinued in March 2019. The primary customers now appear to be Aero Contractors and Air Peace who fly to Lagos and Abuja. Overland no longer flys in.
It has been a tempestuous short life for Asaba International Airport, but Africa is in dire need of good aviation infrastructure. Issues with funding, governance, and management have held Asaba back. If these issues can be sorted, Asaba International has half a chance of developing into a decent airport.
ASABA International Airport is the most modern and most decent airport today in Nigeria - FACT!
It also has a runway of 3.5 KM by 60 Meters with taxiways. The same length of Frankfurt International airport in Germany ! Therefore, Boeing 747 or other large body airplanes can comfortably land and take off at Asaba International airport.
See video below and look at the Luggage claim area and modern conveyor belts etc at the airport. Even MMA Lagos cannot compete with ASABA international airport in modernity and world class facilities.
hammerFC: Is this still wat they are building in Onitsha? Somebody needs to check.
I see only two pillars or will the third be put in place for the train once the bridge 6 lanes is completed?
Why our people are so gullible beats me silly. Okay, they will build railway link over the Niger, but they won't mention it in the contract, but mention it in the pictures they release??
The same way they told us that they will build Enugu International airport to Abuja airport standard, re-open the airport before December 2019, and divert Enugu bound passengers on Ethiopian Airline to Port Harcourt Intl. airport after they close the AIIA. None of which has happened nor will happen under the current regime's total war against Ndigbo. Please lets wise up and atleast stop acting like we are so easy to fool
Xneg: Would you attend a church that is built in a state where you don't have Christians?
We already know the agenda of Fulanis is islamization. So nobody is deceived by your silly arguement. Even if it's just one Christian among the cattle herders, shouldn't he be able to worship God the way he chooses? Fualni has Never thought of any true development for the South or Christians. So don't worry about silly excuses.
The ranches are a nice development. But, Keep it in states where indigenes of the state can rear the animals not building it exclusively for Fulanis in other peoples' states.
Don't use silly tricks to create Fualni LGAs and Empire to usurp other peoples' lands through deceit.
xxolisexx: Tomorrow southerns wll still complain that everything is being located in the north, see project that will provide job for our people..
[/s]
Aboki, C'mon shatap!
When has the Fualni ever thought of any true development for the South?
The ranches are a nice development. Keep it in states where indigenes of the state can rear the animals not building it exclusively for Fulanis in other peoples' states.
Don't use silly tricks to create Fualni LGAs and Empire to usurp other peoples' lands through deceit.
plaindealer: What do you religious bigots and propagandists hope to gain with the rubbish you are littering all over the place?
Jobless losers..
They are just exposing your silly hypocrisy!
When northern Governors demolish churches to develop an area, it is ok. When Southern Governors do same, even on a much smaller scale, it is haram & propaganda tool for you & Muric.
APCHaram: Fourteen Churches in Zamfara State, in Northern Nigeria are now facing demolition threat by the state government, which claims that there are too many Christian worship centers in the state. Zamfara state, which spearheaded the adoption of Islamic law in northern Nigeria contrary to the country's secular constitution, is predominantly Muslim, populated with less than a five percent Christian population.
The Chairman of the State Christian Complaint Commission, David Ishaya said last week in an interview in Kaduna, northern Nigeria political headquarters, that the State Commissioner of Lands and Housing, Alhaji Hassan Nasihu gave the directive for the demolition.
Among Churches slated for demolition in Gusau, the state capital, are the branches of Deeper Life Bible Church, Mountain of Fire and Miracle, Assemblies of God and Winners Chapel whose leaders have been invited for a meeting ahead of the demolition.
Apart from churches in the state capital, the Anglican Church in Kaura, Namoda, has been sealed up following disagreement over the ownership of the land of which the over 30 years Church was built.
Ishaya quoted the Commissioner for Lands, as saying that there was need to drastically reduce the number and curtail the growth of Churches in the state.
The Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) according to the Commissioner have enough land to themselves and the other denominations should merge with them.
"Life in Zamfara is traumatic for Christians" the Chairman of the Christian Complaint Commission stated arguing that contrary to the state government's propaganda, the Sharia legal system was meant to annihilate Christians in Zamfara state.
APCHaram: Muslim extremists destroyed several churches and a pastor's house in the latest religious violence to hit Nigeria's northern Kano state, church representatives and rights activists said Friday, May 21.
One of the buildings and the pastor’s house were set ablaze on the premises of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) at Kwasam, in the Kiru Local Government area, while another building under construction was demolished, the church said.
Local Christians estimated that over 100 young people were involved in this week's attacks in the predominantly Muslim area.
Reverend Lado Abdul, who chairs the ECWA in Kano, linked the violence to youth who had abandoned the church after they "were converted to Islam." He said local Muslims objected to the presence of his church in the region.
Right group Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), which has closely monitored the case, said the ECWA Church leadership had earlier been forced to appear before a Shari’a court.
INDIGENOUS TRIBES
"Since its members are from tribes indigenous to the area, the church argued that the land on which the church stood was their inheritance, adding that they had nowhere else to go. Nevertheless, the court ruled in favor of the complainants."
Earlier the Baptist Church in the area of Banaka, Takai LGA, was also destroyed on May 15, CSW said, adding that "The church has now faced demolition on four separate occasions."
"After the previous demolition, a group of Christians from Kastina State paid for the construction of a new building, and also drilled a well for church members to use. However, during the demolition, the well was blocked off completely," CSW said in a statement.
CSW National Director Stuart Windsor National Director said the demolitions "violate Nigeria’s constitutional and international legal undertakings to uphold religious freedom and freedom of assembly."
Upon Closure of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, the FAAN pledged that they will divert flights to Port Harcourt and pronounce a firm re-opening date for the airport.
After more than 2 weeks of closure, the FAAN has denied Ethiopian Airline access to land Enugu passengers in Port Harcourt International airport. Instead they told the airline to inform such passengers that they will be flown to Kano, Abuja or Lagos!
To expose their true intention of closing down the airport was merely to kill it, they have neither started any repairs at the airport nor stated how long the so called "Repairs" will take.
This is just for those who gullibly believed that the FG closed down Enugu International airport for "Repairs" and that convenience of the passengers would be taken into consideration by flying them to Port Harcourt or Asaba International airports.
It should be very clear by now to all doubting Thomases that the intention was to close down the airport indefinitely and they won't bother themselves to do any so called repairs they claimed as excuse to close the only international airport in the Southeast region.
The Enugu state Governor and indeed the Southeast Governors should impress upon the Federal Minister for Aviation,NCAA and FAAN to make a true pronouncement of the firm date for reopening of the airport.
Also the Ethiopian airlines should not be forced to transfer all their Enugu passengers to Kano, Abuja or Lagos flights by denying them landing access to Port Harcourt International airport. Enugu bound passengers should be flown to Port Harcourt Intl. as stated before closure of the Akanu Ibiam International airport. Or flown to Asaba International airport which is the nearest international airport to Enugu and has a brand new 3.5 KM runway, taxiway and modern facilities of international standards as recently certified by NCAA , FAAN and even Hadi Sirika himself.
Igbos will pay with their "bloods" and Fulanis will just walk all over Nigeria with their own "bloods" intact abi?
Just go and ask you grand fathers what they saw in the civil war. Mind you, this time around Fulanis will have to face Igbos ALONE! Lets see how long you guys can survive Igbo onslaught.
So why was Buhari hiding from the protesters? He should have showed himself or gone to Nigerian embassy.
hammerFC: Dey diverted passengers to Port Harcourt.
The last I checked Amaechi was the substantive Minister for Transport.
I am afraid that Enugu will now be closed for the next four years of Amaechi ministerial appointment to elapse.cc: pazienza
Their plan is to close Enugu indefinitely and us the time to develop traffic elsewhere to deny the Southeast any international airport whatsoever. If it was a runway issue, why didn't they use Asaba international airport that has a long and better runway than Port harcourt airport?
Not to mention that Asaba is also much closer to Enugu which is the final destination of the passengers.
globemoney: If Peter obi whose tenure enjoyed oil boom and no recession achieved up to 40% of what Obiano has achieved in his tenure, Anambra would be competing favorably with Lagos by now.
You people's obssession with Lagos is both sickening and tragic. Lagos is one of the worst cities in the world. Yet, that is what other Nigerian cities aspire to become. It simply shows Nigeria truly has NO HOPE of developing into a functional developed country.
Reminds me of when a supposed leader of thought in Nnewi told me the aspiration is to make Nnewi like Onitsha or Aba! It was so sad that we actually wanted to develop another Igbo city like Aba and Onitsha?
