Techsupport:
Because our society produces weak men, men who cannot stand up to adversity, cowards who hide under " God will fight my battles" instead of standing up and dealing with a situation. These men want their ego massaged at every minute, they want the little they bring to the table to be enough with praise and worship following them for doing something as mundane as paying for their kids' fees.
These men want to be the ones who save the damsel but the damsel has to be super poor and helpless so that their little contributions will look like a lot. They will never go for a working lady or a richer lady because they cannot phantom the idea of bettering themselves to match the woman's output.
these are the same ones clamoring for virgins and submissive women. these men have no stroke game. they want who they will wow with their 2 minutes action and when the person wants more, she is no longer submissive.

But the reality is this, that naive, virgin girl will open her eyes one day and see the BS in front of her as it is, and when that happens the weak man will end up beating her because that is his last line of dominance.

Ladies, beware of weak men, those that crave so much worship and adoration, that is their inadequacy and insecurity showing. Most of them come as "Brother Church member" those ones are the absolute worst of them.

On records. I was the person who took her blood samples in Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH. The lady is now doing well & she's back to her home state.

She was brought to Lagos by a friend for prayers to seak solution on her medical issues, fearing she might die after no improvement after many rounds of prayer setion, she was abandon by the said friend & a good Samaritan pick her up & brought her to LUTH.

She was brought by a good Samaritan to LUTH. All her bills was paid in full by the good Samaritan & LUTH management was on her case till she got the best treatment. Not all heroes wear cap.

Her medical case can't be disclose as it is against ethics

She was not suffering from any spiritual or ritual issues, just medical & I was part of the medical team that treated her.

Only God can reward me.

Now if that’s how most guys think, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

If you want to know where people are getting the idea that men feel a certain way about doing chores, listen to your fellow guys and the thing they actually say.

@bold, is perfectly stated.
eazzzy1:
I don’t know where you people get the notion that men feel a type of way about doing chores. I’m the second to the last born in my family, my mandate and commissioning from the day I was born was to go do chores, plus I come from a family where doing chores was rewarded often. I have no problem at all with doing chores, I do 100% of my chores living alone, why should I want to stop doing chores because I got married? Did I marry a robot?

I do not believe in traditional roles, so doing chores isn’t giving up 50% of my roles as a man. My roles as a man is to be happy and have a happy wife any arrangement that makes this possible is fair game to me. I was in a live in relationship and asides cooking, I did pretty much every other thing, it wasn’t demanded of me, I just did it. My gf couldn’t walk from point A to B without acting like she gave Yokozuna a piggy back, so instead of giving massages all day I just did the work, it was also my house so her bills were limited to wifi, groceries, cable (which was shared 50/50).

Two people who claim to love themselves should be there for themselves, it’s not supposed to be rocket science in my opinion. If I had tits that produce milk I would breastfeed without stress and if my wife runs out of milk and I have to be the only one breastfeeding, it wouldn’t be a burden to me.

APT.
The truth is that you can’t really win in the court of public opinion. We are told men are supposed to be the providers. But they aren’t always. At the same time as a young girl you’re encouraged to give a man with potential chances. Don’t be materialistic. Don’t look for already made. Help build him up. Etc.

Sometimes it works and you’re a golden child who stood by the man when he had nothing.
Other times it doesn’t work and people will ask you “didn’t you see that before saying yes?”. Either way it’s going to be your fault. so, you get to decide when you’ve had enough.

1. What if OP herself not willing to see that her husband ought to be doing these things at this stage in their relationship? What if she is not accepting of the fact that since her husband has so far not been able to wear the traditional-husband hat, he should be wearing the traditional-wife hat instead? undecided

2. OP seems to want her husband to be responsible for her and her kids, be head over her. She doesn't seem to have accepted what is the reality of her marriage at this time and her frustration stems from that. undecided
Right.
That’s why my opinion is always based on what feels fair to the couple within the marriage not what others feel they should be doing.

It might make sense for her to see “the reality” as we think of it, but if that’s not what she wants, she’s still going to be resentful. They never agreed for the husband to be the house spouse and for her to be the sole provider. If they did, I don’t think she will be here complaining.

He probably initially gave the impression that he could become a traditional provider husband or at least an equal contributor which seemed okay to her but he just never actualized that expectation hence her frustration.

Did you hear the house was built with her money?
Instead of you people to advocate for a better society where women are not marginalized, you’re turning around to blame women for the effects of the misogyny meted out to them.
How could she have been more independent? By investing separately from her husband and hiding her money from him?

But is he performing those duties? Is he being the primary caregiver? Is he doing her laundry, making sure her food is ready when she gets home from an exhausting day at work? Making sure the kids are fed, bathe and cared for? etc

And even if he were, is that the agreement both of them agreed on? Because if he does all that a traditional wife does for a providing husband and she’s fine with providing, I don’t see what the issue is. The most important thing being that each party is happy with their roles regardless of what outsiders think they should be doing according tradition.

Next time you want to quote “woke coco”, say the entire thing so that you don’t end up looking like a misinformed clown.

Acidosis:
As long as he's performing some househusband duties like laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc., there shouldn't be issues. At least this is something I've learned from "woke" women like Coco and others around here.

Please get him to do chores. The Lord is your strength.

Husbands like OP’s aren’t even rare.
Wives cover up a lot in marriage because they are bad wives if they seek to take credit for their contributions. Even those “what do women bring to the table” type of nairalanders have moms who pulled their weights financially yet they saw all that and refuse to acknowledge it just so they can score xtupid internet points.

The main problem is that while they let their wives do the “man’s job” in the family, they vehemently refuse to take the the “woman’s job”. Hence the wives always always feel resentful and used.
You guys need to start talking to each other, encouraging each other to be fair and do better.

OP good luck. I don’t have anything extra that hasn’t already been said by those before me.

Who else in this world prays more than Nigerians?
Please say something else
YourFavEvangeli:
Don't criticize Nigeria if you don't spend at least 5minutes everyday praying for the economy. Don't criticize the ruling party if you didn't vote in the last election.

Those who don't vote are worse than those who voted but voted wrongly because they were deceived.

I challenge you to spend 5minutes praying for our country everyday, pray for God to bless us with a good leader and on the day of election, go and cast your vote.

Only then do you have the right to talk, otherwise, you're party to whatever is going on in the country.

Peace.

I believe the US still controls directly or indirectly the majority of world populence, who because of religious or social affiliates
have become too daft or brainwashed to reason.
Yet I know the US won't dare Russia, not now when the odds are against them

China, India, Turkey, and the Arab nations are fed up. North Korea is their worst nightmare, France and Germany despite being to weak to influence anything are not ignorant of the consequences of pushing Russia too far

Look deeply, majority of these American puppets are our siblings who detest and hate their existence.
They hate African Tradition
They call their kinsmen wicked and diabolic

They call their customs and tradition evil yet celebrate and worship than of the white man
They speak good english than the Brits
They are more civilized than the Europeans

To them, almost anything done by US is right because the are world power,
Everything done by Israel is right because they are God's people

You’re not wrong.
But my advice was based just on the 60k issue alone and her financial strain. She hasn’t said she doesn’t love him anymore.

If their relationship is worse off than those two major issues, then I can’t blame her for wanting out. In which case I wish her good luck.
But if it’s something that recouping her financial losses and redistributing responsibilities can solve. Well..,
Klass99:
I have been silently following this thread and the OP's subsequent posts, it is not just about the 60k and Naija house for me, but the other issues I see like;

1. The level and depth of deceit. He kept lying by saying he will build in the future when the project was on and continued with the lie at project completion.

2. His lack of care and involvement with the autistic child, Nigerian men don't deal well with this issue. 99% of the time a woman is left on her own to deal with a disabled child, I know a guy who abandoned mother and child for an easier life with another woman. I have a feeling this man has that capacity in him too.

3. He watched this woman stress and strain herself to pay their debts and bills. I suspect because the debts were on her credit card, her credibility and credit scores were at stake, not his so he couldn't be bothered. That's extreme selfishness and insensitivity.

4. How can you be drowning in massive debt and rather than resolve that issue, you go and build a house that wasn't a necessity? This is a man who doesn't have his priorities right. Personally, I am not comfortable with debt and some of the financial experts I follow online have repeatedly said, you can never build wealth or grow rich when in debt.

All around, I am not seeing any good qualities in this man to hold on to and say I will press on, regardless. I can't live a good life when single, then be in such straits while married na.

Aren't two heads supposed to be better than one again? What's the point if I am not thriving or reasonably doing well mentally and emotionally in this marriage? Not to mention financially?
