Just not as we thought it would be. 3) yes we don’t have a way to truly know the exact extent but being that the expectation was that we would mostly perish, it didn’t go as expected. Yay! 4) lots of conspiracy theories muddied the waters. So it’s become political. |

Poor baby I wish I could actually hug you now. Don’t worry. You’ll be fine again. It takes a while. Ndo Graceihotu: My question is "what do guys really want" I am not saying I am perfect but I know I am surely the best girlfriend any guy could ever think of yet I am still experiencing heartbreak at 31
Had issues with my boyfriend since last year April bkos of a particular girl he posted on Facebook addressing her as the mother of his house. I became angry and told him I was only going to continue the relationship if I spoke to the lady in question bkos same lady posted him too calling him her first love.
He told me the lady was his cousin sister and ofcourse I believed him bkos she bares same surname with his cousin brother whoose wedding we attended together, He addressed me as his wife to be throughout the occasion so I had everything to believe in him
Just five days ago I saw his wedding notification on Facebook with that same lady. My heart has never been this broken B4 in my life. I have cried out my soul to the extent that I barely see clearly this days. I tried not to cry but I just can't. I am seriously weeping as I am typing this.
I have tried to encourage myself but I just can't stop crying and WAILING.
Who have I ever offended and what exactly do guys want?
I have searched all through the 5 yrs of relationship and aswear with my life that I never stressed him but I only requested Love not Money from him
My heart is bleeding. I only sent him his pre-wedding pics and congratulated him then he replied "thanks''
He feels I don't deserve an explanation |

When we got married, I think we held off for 9 months to a year before our first child. And relavtives were asking - what's happening? There is always pressure on the lady to take in. And when this does not happen all the whispering about barrenness starts. And family can go completely native and say and do things no one will come back from She should be willing to turn deaf ears on people like that. They will always exist and their existence amounts to no good except to look for trouble. Cutehector: there was a survey for women asking them if they would want to wait for a number of years before giving birth to kids or give birth immediately when married. Over 90percent said they would want to give birth immediately.
So you see that one wey you dey yarn say make the woman wait for few years, lai lai e no go work ooooooo. Married woman no like condom. 1) There are other forms of birth control. 2)And if she can’t wait, she should be ready to struggle to provide for the kids alongside the husband 3)Or go for a financially ready man. |

Bro Calm down. She doesn’t mean it that way. The truth is that Covid was “expected” to ravage Africa as in people falling down in the middle of the streets with bodies on the side walks. But that didn’t happen. Hence the question of did it even get there? Of course it makes sense to calculate that it did get to us much like other parts of the world but our non-existent record keeping makes it hard to know exactly how affected we were. . Tranquility2345: This man please just stop this ignorance. Most Nigerians were falling sick all over the place and calling it flu and malaria. The difference between the western world and Africa is that testing kits and centers are readily available in the west while covid tests and kits are scarce and very expensive in Africa.
The average African doesn’t have a dollar to eat. How will he now find USD100 for covid test? As the covid symptoms are similar to malaria and flu symptoms, many just self medicate with flu and malaria drugs. Luckily, our immune system somehow fights the virus and most recover quickly. The easiest way to find out it is covid is when they start complaining of loss of taste and smell.
Guy please I beg you to just lock up and stop showing the world your ignorance…. |

I think the rent is reasonable considering how expensive housing is now. That’s even cheap. Where can you truly find better accommodations for cheaper than that?
OP two people have given you great advice here.
1) move in by yourself and live there for 6 months to a year and see if you still think you want to get married.
2) Get married, wait a few years before kids and the responsibilities that come with them. That will give you and your wife chance to work and save so that when the kids start coming, it won’t be a big hit.
I like number two. Good luck. |

You sound like you mean well and with the best intentions for your class kids. But I’ll advise you to take one thing away from this thread. And that is to stop physically hitting them in the name of discipline. Yes it’s widely acceptable for teachers to physically discipline kids but if you’re unfortunate and something happens to one of them kids in the process, those who think you did right will turn on you real quick. In the blink of an eye, you could lose everything you’ve worked for, lose your future and freedom at such a young age. And for what? Just leave the discipline to the parents and teach the subjects you’re employed to teach. dave601: No, you quoted what was directed to a person who needed to see them...
Well, I don't preach in class. Cos my job is not to preach. But I seek to live right, follow Jesus: that's better than preaching.
If I knew a parent forbids the rod, well I'll ignore the child's errors. But I hope he or she really cooperates, and not the eccentric, rude type. Otherwise, I'll continue to have problems with the child. And I might need to take the matters higher: to the school management.
I once stopped a private lesson with some pupils (forgetting my money) because the Dad said he disciplines them by himself. Someone that's not regularly at home. Your child can't be misbehaving, and you want me to be reporting to you. He wasn't just interested, maybe to escape the monthly payment or something.
Whereas, there were some others that were complaining that I was too soft on theirs: imagine.
That said, the only reason why a parent should be scared of helpful discipline is medical issues of a child. Otherwise, you get the child spoilt.
Peace... |

Kobojunkie: What an insult of a man. And when we question the upbringing of people like this, they take offense. I wonder if his mother was his maid before this. She probably was his maid before this . And when he finds a wife, he will first take her to his mom to see if she’s wife material enough AKA maid enough for him. The mom will assess the wife’s ability to pick up after the dirty boy she raised and then give her a pass mark if she meets the maid standard. Don’t forget she must not be financially dependent on him too. She has to be at his beck and call but also find time to make money to support him financially because no one wants a liability |

Maybe if ops wife was beaten up by her hindu employer and the guy came here to fire the proverb
women, children and animals are worthy of being beaten This can be a hard concept for many people despite how simple it is. I try to be understanding because I know how hard it is to shed the neurological programming most of us undergo as children in the name of God. But if they can really think about it in the same terms as what if a Muslim did this to me and tried to validate it with what his God said? Would I be okay with that? All his defense is the Bible and he didn’t for a moment consider what if these other people don’t share my faith? |

What if the parents of the child don’t follow Bible teachings? I can’t imagine some teacher hitting my kid and backing it up with quotes from the Koran or the Torah. Sometimes you need to understand that not everyone lives according to your personal values dave601: If you don't mind, consider these, friend: Prov.23.13 - Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
Prov.13.24 - He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
Prov.22.15 - Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.
2Sam.7.14 - I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
Heb.12.10 - Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.
Heb.12.11 - No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been TRAINED by it.
Anyway, you don't have to agree with my views.
Take care. |

I saw this thread earlier but I knew I would be called WOKE (as if it’s an insult) if I tried to explain to OP why his method of handling it was wrong. Thanks for your post WoundedLamb: If the strokes are disturbing even to the aggressor himself, then I'm really worried. I didn't read anywhere where you sat the kids down to explain to them why they shouldn't be doing such things. All I read was flog, flog, flog. At à point, I had to read the title again just to ensure it's humans we're talking about here.
There's a reason the human brain is more advanced that those of other animals. Kids are extremely curious. They are very receptive of new ideas as well. Why not get to the root of the issue, block it, and engage the kids to counter whatever they had assimilated? Why do y'all ignore the capabilities of this brain to resort to treating kids like lower animals? By flogging the kids, you have said to them "don't let me catch you doing this again" but you didn't tell them why they shouldn't do it. I'm guessing you're shying away from having some an uncomfortable discussion with a kid but without that, you'd end up creating a hardened rebel.
You made reference to a certain YouTube channel to support your claim that kids who aren't flogged are worse off but you forgot we don't need any YouTube to see what the Nigerian youth has become despite the flogging. Only lazy adults that lack creativity go around flogging children like animals even at the slightest provocation. |

I don’t see anyone saying that. If anything, people abroad treasure home food and pay exorbitantly for them too because we know the value. The truth is that our typical dishes are high in calories so we can’t really say we eat healthier than Americans because of their too much sugar consumption. Without the equivalent activity, eating typical Nigerian dishes can make one gain weight. That’s where we have some advantage because a typical Nigerian is more active. But our food tastes great therefore I personally am fine with consuming a high calorie meal that I enjoy rather than a high calorie meal that’s just sweet. Some of you just say anything. I knew someone was gonna come along and make a weird comment about “abrodians” paschal47: When you guys travel out of this country you just believe people there live a better life than us when it comes to dishes?
The food you've been eating from your childhood that doesn't cause you anything now becomes a concern to you.
Can you compare an elderly person in the US to an elderly person in Nigeria?
The rate at which they all die from cancer from modified and processed food?
No wonder y'all come back looking like sacks of vegetables.
Tueeh! Nigerian meals over "abroadian" meals. |

That loss of taste is a big one. I thought it was just my mouth at first. But we really need to be better at simple record keeping. Can’t really claim we are healthier or better than any country in diseases prevalence when we don’t even have the number to prove it right or wrong descarado: There is something you can never take away from Nigerian foodstuffs. All are organic. No matter how we label our food, they are better than what we have in the West. Yep, from veggies to meat are all GMO heavily contaminated with insecticides.
U lose the taste of real food when you travel abroad and all these come with serious health rusk factors. Even eggs don't taste like eggs anymore. Then add fast food. I will gladly pick Nigerian mama put to the best fast food in developed country. As you eat that burger, go and check what they add. So many sweetners. Junks that people eat as processed food has killed more people than meat softened with panadol or beans with sniper.
In as much as we eat majorly carbohydrates, we balance it out with the best veggies one can get in this world. Our veggies are medicinal. Our only problem is portion control and experimenting with food and its caused by poverty mentality build over the years. We can't just waste food trying out new cooking or eat small when we are not sure of next time. Apart from water born diseases, we don't suffer much. We don't even have awareness like these countries yet they don't care. We have low life expectancy cos we struggle more than an average western man to make ends meet thereby endangering our lives. Still poverty. The rich among use live till very old age.
Also, it's not every yardstick set for you by the West you readily agree on. Who told you we have life expectancy of 50yrs?
The grass is always greener on the other side until you go and see for yourself
Covid was an eye opener. The West we hail every day is yet to accept the fact that we sub saharan Africans defied them and still living.
Why ? Cos we have strong immune system due to the type of food we eat. |

tensazangetsu20: I think childbearing should be completely restricted to a few humans. Before any human births a child, they should undergo financial and psychological examinations by the government and be proven they are deemed fit to raise a human being. Raising a child should actually be a privilege exclusive to a few rather than something any Tom dick and Harry can do. Okay. I don’t necessarily agree with that extreme a measure nor do I agree that every Tom and Harry should be reproducing like rats. I was just trying to figure out how far you wanted to take it.
