pocohantas: Yea there are tricks to it, but I wouldn’t advise a rookie to start doing tricks . I also would never advise Basmati for bulk cooking. Personal preference o.
pocohantas: Pic 1: Ideal Pot. Pic 2: Groundnut oil you should avoid, IF YOU CAN... Pic 3: The rice on the left is Basmati, obviously more beautiful- but not fit for the job. So, I use the thai rice (on the right) for the cooking. However, if you have to use Basmati, do not parboil. Just soak and wash with hot water. 4: Wooden spoon.
I’ve used basmati for jollof before and it turned out really good. I got asked for the recipe multiple times. There are tricks to it. But not really anything difficult. I use enough oil as it can tend to be dry and basically steam it. Limiting adding water or too much stock.
I know some folks in this food section hate basmati. Let me go before they come for me.
Biglittlelois: If the husband should contribute 120k out of 400k, how much will the remaining family members contribute, particularly the huncle getting married? Nawa o.
It feels scripted. I doubt there are folks who make such requirements from their in-laws. Contribute to the brothers wedding? Smh
eyinjuege: Chai. You're very observant o Pls, kindly delete the mention if you can., pls also delete your post. Coco candy, could you also kindly delete the mention you made earlier, if you can? Just a concerned person o. I'm not OP.
Sometimes if the baby is looking at me she will tell me to cover my face so that he won't get used to me because if he is used to me he won't allow other people to carry him
That’s so weird. Doesn’t she have kids? I’m not certain she has anything sinister up her sleeves but her parenting style is obviously clashing with yours. It seems she believes herself more knowledgeable than you and should have more of a say over the baby than you do (maybe because of her age). That’s not healthy for you or the baby.
Anyway like some folks have said, you need to find somewhere else to stay
pocohantas: Thanks @ Dyt, Sterope, Cococandy and everyone.
We did this together. I struggled with the leaf at first and was obsessed with checking if it is spilling. Finally I noticed less spills and... I was happy.
One4me: Sure, if it is the color that is now bothering you, please feel free to color your hateful feminnazi rants as well. And if it is the length, someone else said "bless you for this", a few posts before yours so, dont get unnecessarily angry over that, it is not everybody that is cranial enough to have a good "attention span".
We all can all live peacefully side by side, we the happily married folks that dont need permission to Bleep our spouses and you the vengeful, hateful , men-haterz who should by the way, NEVER MARRY ANY MAN.
Just dont go around trying to influence the polity with your silly and evil ideas that try to pollute the next generation. No be me do you that string thing wey dey make you angry and agressive to Men.
That you typed a long and colorful post doesn’t mean you have anything meaningful to say.
One4me: Read my long Post! I hate Rapist like maggot. I honestly do. Rapist of any gender or kind and that includes peadophiles. I think sex is one of the most beautiful things to be enjoyed, especially with your spouse and not be an exercise involving any pain! I would put them through painful death, if l could.
But l also detest Women who are trying to criminalise the essence of marriage and use sex as a weapon against men. It is disgraceful and detestful. I have been married for God knows how long now and there have been times my wife CANNOT meet my sexual needs..and that is cool. There are times l beg her too, to just let me be, l am fagged-out, for example when l just finished my "Masters Football" Game on Wednesdays.
But l know it is her right to insist she wants sex, if l beg her and she insists, l just say: Well, it is up to you if you can get it done, lcant lift a finger right now'. She can take one look at me and say I will catch you tomorrow or she can say dont worry, l did not ask you to assists me and she will fire-away. Do l wake up and accuse my wife of Rape? God forbid, she is my wife, my love and my joy.
Same goes for her too. We both know what it means to VOW and we take our Vows seriously. We know that CONJUGATION IS A RIGHT for each Spouse. Will she wake up and accuse me of rape? God forbid, she is a sensisble , loving and caring wife, the joy of any man.
But women like you ehn..... make l nor talk. Only God can help you overcome your inner demons and l honestly pray HE does because you need psychological and psychiatric help, no kidding.
One4me: You can insult her all you like, just because she does not belong to this boat of Men-Hating-Sadistic-Women that are always looking for ways to do Evil towards all men. Honestly, your hatred for men runs so deep one would wonder wetin Men do you in your previous lives? Person wey do una dis strong thing needs to be appeased, ASAP.
Stop supporting rape and you won’t have a problem with such evil women like me who call out rapists and their supporters.
ibkayee: I believe he knew what I was getting at, I gave a hypothetical situation where I asked him to imagine if his son was raped, then he beat around an entire forest to avoid acknowledging that just because a law doesn't recognize something, it doesn't necessarily make it right. Male child over the age of consent then..rape of males isn't recognized as rape either but that doesn't justify it.
Marital rape isn't recognized under Nigerian law but it doesn't make the act itself any less rape.
it should be common sense but I guess not in this case. Especially since humans are the one who make laws.
Many things are illegal that shouldn’t be and many are legal and shouldn’t be. Does it take away from the wrongness or rightness of any of those things if we go by the golden rule of being to others as we want them to be to us?
This is a good topic. Naija govt should consider incentivizing marriage. Instead of us shaming single people into get married.
@OP. You know the ‘big’ tax breaks married folks get in USA is because they paid more taxes combined than a single person paid. I don’t know about other countries, but the new tax reforms that trump passed made it such that you don’t get refunds for having kids but it just reduces your taxable income which at the end only saves you a few hundred dollars per child versus in the past when you could simply get $1000 in returns for each child. Some folks were claiming many dependents and cashing out during tax season.
pocohantas: Growing up I never washed beans. Whenever I am asked to do it, I will carry the beans on my head to the backyard. My bro will sneak out with me...
He did the washing, then I carry it back inside again. Sweating like I am the one that washed it.
25yrs later I wanna make moinmoin. I am not gonna regret not learning, I believe there is a way around this. A MODERN way...
Someone should give me the plug
Am I late?
I usually soak mine for about 20 mins, put it in a blender and pulse for about 30 secs. On-off-on-off a few times until the skin separates from the beans. Doesn’t take more than a minute and then rinse under running water until all the skin drains away. By the time my oil is hot, I’m done blending and seasoning the beans for akara. Same method for moi moi
Here’s a video for visuals. She says soak for an hour. To me that’s not necessary maybe it depends on the type of beans she used.
According to reports, the event management and décor guru died after suffering cardiac arrest this morning in her hotel room in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where she went to work.
Why would a very comfortable Ibidun travel to Port harcourt during an insterstate ban for work? What event is so important considering events cannot have more than 50 people presently? Has an autopsy been done to confirm that it is cardiac arrest.? I personally think her death should be investigated.
J111333: She died of a supposedly cardiac arrest in a hotel while working on an event in this covid19 period and the family is already requesting privacy?
