The story gives the much needed amusement in this trying times jare.

The ending is too predictable joor. Hubby begs and returns the money.

Snatching the jewelry from the old woman's neck while calling her 'the mother of a thief' would have added more spice.

Whether real event or a figment of the OP's imagination.
Either way, the OP's personal need for satisfaction will be achieved in her very active imagination.. Lol

I'm pretty sure she has never been married, not even in her two previous lives.

Your marriage is already deceitful considering your husband is a repentant thief.

I have not told you to be nice either. I only said your long-term goal for your marriage would determine your strategy.

With your post above, I would have thought you would dam it all and snatch the jewelry from your MIL's neck and be done with the deceitful marriage. cheesy

The entire story doesn't seem real if you observe carefully, too contrived...

She wants you to listen to her as talks no matter how long she talks for or what she talks about. Be interested in what interests her like her hairdo, complement her all the time. When she's gossiping about that her friend pay attention and if it's a misunderstanding she's narrating, take sides with her. Tell her how good her food tastes even if it's not exactly so.
In summary, just pretend and lie to her – pretend you care about the things she cares about, and lie to her about things you know would hurt her feelings if you told her the truth instead. grin

And ladies like yourself keep wondering why y'all have a history of guys who ended up deceiving you and breaking your hearts... which of course must have happened after they got tired of lying and pretending. Lol.

Oh good Lord, please give me the strength and wisdom to raise my daughter right... Amin!

Different teachers with different teaching skills. Children especially age 1- 5 are attracted to colours, flashy things etc. You can assist your child by making letters (a-z) using different coloured cardboards. Or try the following methods.

1--- stroke down
2--- around and dash
3--- around and around
4--- stroke down, dash and down again.
5---- stroke down, around and a dash ontop
6 --- make a curve and go in
7 --- across the sky and down from heaven.

Lemme stop here...my pot is on fire...lol.

This happened yesterday.

Saw the clips of the incident last night and those SUVs are definitely government-owned – whether they belong to the DSS or not, is besides the point.

What matters is that official government vehicles were used to convey thugs to attack protesters.

It's not true that there were no gunshots. On Channels evening news yesterday, I watched the video where a security personnel shot and killed one of the prisoners who was caught up in between the barbed wires on the fence while trying to jump down.

It's difficult to obtain facts about the situation on ground when emotions are running high everyone seems to be about promoting an agenda that suits their personal sentiments.

Imho, the plausible scenario is that the jailbreak was initiated by hoodlums/protesters outside but aided and abetted by some prison officials or relative lack of adequate security resistance.
To be honest, that's all the point I have been making.

There's no way they didn't have any help from inside, no way.

No, they are part of the normal naming system. It's just that some people have forgotten the meanings of the names or that the meanings of the words have changed.

In many cultures it is a tradition for members of a family to do a certain occupation. The knowledge is usually passed down from father to son and mother to daughter. In many such cultures the family name usually indicates that occupation.
Okay

Check it up, the meaning is diverse. Names evolve.
My name's were as a result of being twin. Very annoying and I changed them tongue cheesy

When my first kid was named by his dad( just allowed him and his family to name anything they feel like), I now looked up some names that have the similar sound or letters to match the first one for subsequent ones. Checked their meaning and they were ok.
Like the Kardashian's with k.

As long as names are short( people these days hate long names), has good meaning, I'm good.

But see names like destiny, blessing, goodness. Yuk cheesy
Lol, names with diverse meanings are even more confusing.
Like I saw Buka and angelfalz trying to decide what Mary/Mariah actually means. Both of them are right anyway, because it can mean bitterness and also mean beloved – but why give a name with so much confusion (diversity) in meaning.

I can understand why you would change your twin name.
I too have found some traditional twin names to be a little unimaginative – most of them just mean first & second or senior & junior. Seriously, that's all?

You see those names you mentioned like Destiny, Blessing, Goodness... Do you know I even like them?
BUT not when given in these English versions oo.

I mean I like them when they are transcribed into a traditional dialect form (whether in Igbo, Edo, or Yoruba) and then given to a child – they seem more expressive.

Everything still boils down to a parents' choice anyway, but still... cheesy

Also in the catholic church, children can also be named after saints, so it might not have to do with the meaning of the name, but the saint the child is named after.
I agree, but protector of?

This is where the origins of a name come into perspective for me.

Family › Re: What Goes Into Naming A Child by crackhaus:
naptu2:
Most of those names also have meanings. There are two things that you need to remember.

1) Words often have more than one meaning. It's possible that the name refers to a meaning that is different from the one that you are thinking of.

2) The English Language is derived from many sources including French (because of the Normans), German (because of the Saxons), Latin (because of the Roman occupation), Scandinavian languages (because of the Vikings), etc. Some of those names mean something different in the original language.

Woods in this case refers to a place with lots of trees, like a forest. The original meaning of the name Woods is someone that works in a forest (maybe as a lumberjack, hunter, etc). So most likely the baby's father works in the woods (that's why it's usually used as a surname).

Blunt is derived from French and it originally referred to people with blond hair.
But honestly, aren't these reasons/meanings just funny and weird? grin

River, Skye etc.. LOL

What of Blunt, Wood etc.

Lol, I didn't want to engage that person in a conversation after he/she replied... But since you brought it up, the meaning of Alexander seems blehhhhh to me.
I don't mean to come off critical though, I'm just 'saying'... grin

Like you just name a child protector.
Protector of whom and what?

Like I noted earlier, these names sounds good and sure they'll have a meaning... but what exactly is the context of the meaning and how does it relate to that particular child, especially when it's a name that was pre-planned way before the child was even born.
This is always my curiosity cheesy

The report below reads like damage control cheesy

I thought they said earlier there were no guns or casualties involved. Where is all this report now coming from?

cc: Golan007, Homeboiy

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), has confirmed the jailbreak in Benin and Oko prisons in Benin City by hoodlums on Monday.

This was disclosed in a statement by the NCoS spokesperson, AC Njoku.

According to the statement, investigations have begun at NCoS to search for the escaped inmates.

PREMIUM TIMES gathered that the hoodlums, numbering over 100, broke open one of the cells and freed several inmates in the process.

Several persons sustained gunshot injuries as an armed squad of prison officials engaged the suspected hoodlums in a gun duel.

This newspaper reported that the hoodlums had earlier gathered along Sapele Road beside the prison as early as 7 a.m, setting bonfires and blocking road users particularly motorists.

“Custodial centres were attacked this morning by suspected protesters under the #ENDSARS protests in Benin and Oko in Benin,” it said.

It condemned the protesters for their non-peaceful, and violent destructive actions.

It said the exact figures of escapees and casualties are yet to be confirmed and will be communicated after preliminary investigations.
I like the response of this journalist below, very factual.

A journalist, Fisayo Soyombo, who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES said the jailbreak in Benin was stage-managed by unknown persons.

“This was stage managed, who did this I cannot tell you, because these people are smart. It’s not possible without the collusion of the insiders without proper ammunition,” he said.

“Hoodlums that are not well stocked in terms of ammunition cannot from outside launch a jail break of that magnitude,” he said.

“I read in a report that hoodlums started gathering around 7 am around the prisons. In any prison in Nigeria, once there is unrest outside, any slightest scene of danger outside, what the prison wardens do is to order all inmates back into their cells and they lock them up,” he said.

“The event you saw in the video of the outbreak is not a natural occurrence, I can tell you confidently that that was not a natural occurrence,” he added.

“If these protesters were sighted at 7 am then the prison authorities would have locked the inmates up,” he added.

“This means that if the protesters like, they should break all the walls of the prisons down, the inmates will still be in their cells unable to escape.”

“Another thing is that prisons in Nigeria have security including police officers and wardens with guns.

“The number of people I saw in that video cannot escape without any casualties. It’s not possible that the scores of inmates are running away and no police officer or warden guarding the prisons, who have guns shot at one of them,” he said.

Golan007:
When Boko Haram sacked prisons and police posts how did it happen?

Conditions of anarchy lead to all kinds of scenarios and jail breaks are more likely to succeed when such situations occur.

Wardens depend on the police for back up.

No one anticipates for road blockades married with police suppression.

Whatever the citizens see they take.
The same Boko Haram that has almost the same grade of ammunition as the Nigerian Army?
Is it police and prison that will be their problem? Lol

We're talking about unarmed protesters (or hoodlums) here, and maybe you should just watch those videos again.

At first, I thought it was the protesters that were at the top of those walls.
It was actually prisoners – some went through the barb wires and jumped down in one video, and in another video, some used the roof of what looks like a guard post to descend.

All the above is even inconsequential if someone can't explain how these prisoners alone with security inside a prison were able to get to the top of the prison fence in the first place.

So that you can start lynching wardens abi?
You're funny... Those questions are investigative, not in anyway advocating for the use of force.

You mean to tell me, people with no weapons broke into a prison, then proceeded to let out the prisoners inside... and you won't ask questions? grin

First of all, do you even know the prison we are talking about here?
The walls are almost two stories high from the outside and the front access is barricaded like a fortress.

From the videos I saw, it was prisoners that were at the top of those walls, not protesters... Meaning they were able to set themselves free and then proceed to climb the walls from inside the prison before jumping/escaping out the other side.

No hoodlums (or protesters) gained access into the compound – every video on the internet is showing the outer perimeter of the fence.

Question again is, how were the prisoners able to access the fence without any warder or security stopping them?

If it were that easy for prisoners to escape, they would have been doing it long before now.

And I don't believe that a protester (or hoodlums posing as protesters) could have access to the prison from outside without any help from the inside. Reason am...
