Yeah! Thanks a lot.
You're one of many reasons I won't give up.
Have it in mind that you've contributed to my greatness and I appreciate
My dear, if it was possible, I would have advised you to try applying to a Northern University like Sokoto Dan Fodio for nursing. Sokoto is quite safe mostly. Cut-off marks are lower.

Also consider Radiography if they won't give you nursing. It's in demand and less hard work than nursing.
You can also try midwifery route. So you have options. Explore your extended family. An uncle, cousin or aunt somewhere may be willing to support. No need to be shy about seeking genuine help.

Many of us have supported extended family members through education over the years.

Sure thing!
I'm grateful for your kind words.
Young woman, at 18, you have not even started life yet really. I know you may feel otherwise but there is nothing you still cannot do. From getting your degree to becoming minister or even president.
Don't run away. You are too intelligent to do that.

Your dad may not be as financially buoyant as you may think. Be patient and keep being a good daughter to your family and society. Help will surely locate you.

Dude, some people may genuinely want to help.
You can advise the young woman on how not to fall prey.

We need organised charitable groups on whose doors people like the OP can knock and seek help. She could easily be a daughter to many Nairalanders.

Evolutionlove, I want to believe that you have enough humanity in you to assist people like this young woman in real life.
While some do nefarious things out of greed, a lot of young women go into oloshoism for simple reasons of genuine need or lack.

This is my girl. Our problems are she most times receives calls and chats with lots of guys and she lies to me alot, I've told her severally to stop and always tell me as it is, although I get angry very easily bt it would be better to digest the truth than lies cus it's hurt me a lot. So I've broken up with her many times and she sometimes swear never to come back again. But after a few days or weeks. She will come begging, calling and texting again and then I keep forgiven her.

Below is a screenshots of our most recent quarrels when she came back begging and the reason for the quarrel was she was at my house when another guy called again, and she couldnt tell the guy she was at her boyfriend's house even though the guy kept asking where she went, she only said she went out.

What exactly could be the problem?
Is it me? Is it her? I'm I too over protective or feeling insecure? Please guys what should I do?
Dude, you left out some vital information. How old are both of you? To see if you can afford to still waste a bit of time.

She might be around 22 years old or thereabout.

What do you both do? What is her socio-economic background?

Look, she probably likes you but she's still sampling around. Relationship is now strictly business or career for some babes. Love ain't got nothing to do with it.

Some babes want a guy to take them out of poverty or seek something specific that you may not be able to fully offer her.
You are probably nice but you can't give her "something" she truly desires.
It's a trade off. If for example she desires a rich guy and finds one who is a tad abusive but meets her material needs, she might stick to him and finally dump you.

For now she always returns to you because she hasn't found that other person. Not to lose out on both ends.

Unless there is something extraordinary about the babe, it might be better to move on. Painful, I know.

Save up and build your finances for like three years first before talking about marriage.
A woman needs to be well cared for and you need to be financially stable to be able to do that. So build first.
But he can also get a woman who is productive as in working and contributing economically.
Gone are those days when men only provided financially.
If your wife cannot contribute economically, what if the unexpected happens to the man.

35 is a very good age to marry. He said he has a house and a car already.
He needs to look at his income, side income, contribution of prospective wife, etc.

They can marry and save together for a year and then think about having kids, plan how many, etc.

@ dondodo
If possible find a half-way decent lady to marry. Plan family well. No too many kids.
Good luck!

Nobody can doubt Tinubu's ability even if we didn't like 8 years of APC that brought so much suffering.
If Tinubu began his presidency 8 years ago, he would have performed like 300% better than Buhari did.

The worry some us have is that he might not have the same vigour and energy he had years ago to face the many problems of 9ja today.

But 9ja has its peculiarities. He had to bide his time, help the North rule first to get a sniff.

We must now wait and hope he hasn't lost his Midas touch.

Your suggestions are genuinely needed 🙏

Hi my people good day, I have been having a thorough thought all in my mind and have been boiling inside of me on what next step to take.

Over the years, I have seen my mum really been hostile to my dad and it's getting out of hand for me to bear.
I am the first son of some siblings and in my mid 20s.
I live apart from my parents in another state and one of my junior sibling who went home for a little break from school was complaining bitterly about how my mum attitude towards my dad is getting out of hand.

My father has to be the most responsible, respectable, reasonable man I ever know, he doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't womanizer. He has been the sole breadwinner in the family from when we were small up till this time.
His work isn't moving very well as it used to back then and as such he cannot cater very well like he's used to and even though at that, he's been trying his best....
My mum just doesn't appreciate him enough and I've seen this a million times.

My next line of action is to call my mum and give her a serious scolding because she hasn't been warned sternly about this by any of my siblings before.
This is getting out of hand and I cannot bear it anymore, please what do you all suggest I could do in this situation
It may be that your mum never loved your dad but condition made her to marry him. She doesn't feel fulfilled in the marriage and there is really nothing your dad can do about it. She's pouring all the frustration on him.

A major silent killer of men is marital maltreatment but nobody discusses it. A man is expected to be strong and be in control. If you are harsh you are a wife abuser and if you are a gentlemen trained to overlook women's shenanigans, you are a simp.

A man really can't win. I hope you are learning from your dad's experience.
It's very difficult for most men to admit that own mother is far from the type of woman they pray to marry. Because mother is supposed to be "iya ni waura". What her hubby goes through doesn't matter.

Hello people,

Am married for 6 years with two kids. Some months ago, my wife started denying sex so much that we hardly have 2 times in a month. Because of this, I no longer disturb her this days cos it's better to let her be than to be rejected since most times I expected her to say no or give an excuse or the other which am always about 90 percent right about.

This days, I don't feel attracted to her sexually anymore. I have never cheated on her but this days, the thought of doing so is gradually creeping in. Have tried talking to her about this but no change. I don't want to start what extra marital affair but am tempted to.

I need your advise guys.
Well, if you provide materially and emotionally as an average man should, she's not ill physically and mentally and she's not performing her wifely duty, you have the right to return her to her parents jeje. Tell them you want a wife who can keep her own basic part of the bargain. Not too much to ask for, is it?

Let them go apply for job as policewoman but you have criminal record of serving jail term as an armed robber.
In a working society you won't dare. But in romance matter, abort 15 babies, cheat recklessly on boyfriends, sleep with father and son BUT it's all in a day's work. No problem. You can marry a virgin guy, grin grin cheesy cheesy

Hypocrisy.

People forget that the main purpose of sex intended by nature is to have babies. Na we humans commercialised it and made it leisure activity.

A man can be duped with paternity but a woman can't be duped with maternity. That is the key difference between infidelity in men and women.
Till tomorrow, in many animal species, once mating season is over, males and females separate until next mating season.

As of now, around 35% of first born kids belong to another man and 25% of all kids too.

Some women ask: Is it not men they are sleeping with or cheating with? Yes. But the woman made a free choice to do so.
A man biologically wants to spread his seeds, the woman grants access to it freely or can refuse.

My appreciation to everyone who took time out to give some advice.

As advised, I'd just leave the house as is and do minimum maintenance to keep it standing. I don't have any grudge with my brother and I do hope that someday, he becomes financially successful as well.

I believe it's better I focus on other personal ventures at this point.
This is where culture and tradition play a big role. No elders in your family? No olori ebi, okaegbe or whatever equivalent is head of your family in your tribe?

In my culture, if the house was your family homestead, where your father primarily lived in his lifetime and probably raised you all or the only house he built by himself anywhere, by right it belongs to the first son. In the same way the family relied on you to lead your father's funeral rites, (whether traditional or of Middle Eastern religion) when he exited. You decide what privilege to give your junior brother to use the house. Most tribes have clear cut traditional answers to these things.

It is your responsibility to keep the house in good nick. Anything you don't repair well now will cost even more a few years later.

I can't allow my 80 years old to do such hard jobs, she deserves to spend her last years in the comfort of the warmth of her children.
Actually some women/elderly people of that age in rural areas don't want to stop what they have been used to. Stop them and they will die very soon. Just don't let them overwork but activities keep them going.

The lady had every right to go to her farm and feel useful. Nigeria failed her.

He got a point. They should be arrested for patronising prostitutes... That's the only way to reduce hookup. And, there are other ways to satisfy ur needs as a guy.
If no one is ready to buy what they sell they'll find other things to do.
Then the lady who offered sex, or accepted money for sex should not be punished?

While this may earn you cheap popularity with women, it's actually not in their favour long term.

It implies that, in your estimation, they are somehow deficient and cannot be treated equally as men or can't take responsibility for their actions as can be expected of men.

So much about gender equality.

Yes, many. Pythons and other constrictors are not venomous. They use sheer muscle power to wrap around a prey, squeeze and constrict it to death before swallowing. The largest snakes including anacondas are not poisonous.
But this large viper in this thread has large amount of venom, large fangs like hypodermic injection needles and HIGHLY poisonous. But not aggressive like cobra. You have to step on it or disturb it where it is hiding to strike.
