@ kobojunkie, THE TRIUMPH OF FALSEHOOD OVER TRUTH IS JUST BUT TEMPORAL. When this fake prof came and was rabble rousing about Nigeria'sveconomy early in the week, little did he know that FORBES will come out with a list that will expose him. Now it's glaring that this Proffessor of economics has to go and remove the big log in his eyes before bothering about the tooth pick in our own eyes. HYPOCRITE!

]@Betathings, you sound so petty. I saw you list my username as one of those who you feel are new entrants for Gej on Nairaland. Facts don't lie. I challenge you to review my profile in Nairaland. The outcome will show the world the reason why comments from you can never be taken seriously. My history in Nairaland is rich and impeccable. I even used Nairaland to mobilize support for Kevin Pam of BigBrother revolution as far back as 2009. Check my profile. The facts speak for itself. I understand your fears. You are very insecure and cannot stand divergent views. All you want is to come here to spread falsehood and blackmail GEJ to the pleasure of your paymasters unchallenged. I hve never taken a position in this forum without supplying cogent facts in support.I join issues with anybody irrespective of age, sex, religion, and date of entry into Nairaland. I challenge you to do same, not to spy on people's Profiles.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Power Supply Will Be Among Best 20 By 2020 – Jonathan by dedeike:
Anybody who expects Gej to turn around the power sector in one year is totally ignorant of the challenge involved. It's easier to sit down and talk without offering any constructive solution to the problem. But my problem with most Nairalanders is that they have a phobia for objective reasoning.

For them, we must resort to name calling and pedestrian talk in discussing such a sensitive matter. I took time to mention some of the projects embarked upon by GEJ in less than one yyear in office. No one dared to come up with a refutal of those projects. The closest to reason was one that acknowledged the completion of Mambilla and Zungeru by GEJ's govt but quickly said maliciously that both do not add more than 400 mgw to the national grid. My response to him is that even if it's 2 megawatts, GEJ has added something thru completion of those projects.

I have also been waiting to hear that GEJ did not revive the abandoned NIPP projects scattered around the country. A fool in this forum shamelessly subtracted over 500 megawatt from the 4000 mgw achieved in the last one year. But even if we avail him of that figure, it's still a remarkable increase from the 1500 mgw that GEJ's govt met on ground. A lot of reforms are ongoing in the sector and private sector investments have started flowing in with the recent issuance of bulk purchase trading agreements with prospective investors.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Power Supply Will Be Among Best 20 By 2020 – Jonathan by dedeike: 2:40pm On Jun 29, 2012
It's only those who hve blinded themselves to truth that will not notice the present successes recorded by GEJ in power sector in the last one year. Make your inquiries. Gej has completed the construction of both Mambilla and Zungeru power plants, yet canuck says nothing is being done. Gej has also refurbished Alaoji, Utorogu, calabar, Omotosho plants in line with his revival of NIPP . Yet some haters don't see anything. JUST the other day, we saw Brasilian electric giants Electro bus sign MOU to participate in the ongoing privatization of PHCN, yet haters say nothing. Few days ago, we saw a topic in this forum whereby SHELL had gone to establish a gas plant for power stations in IMO state in line with FG's agreement with them for the upward review of tariffs. Yet haters say he's clueless. People are just hating and sounding like broken records.
PoliticsRe: Faroukgate: Police Uncover Fresh $10m Bribe by dedeike:
If there's anything which reinforces the urgent need for the withdrawal of subsidy, it is scandals of this nature.

This represents a corruption disaster long foretold. Any wonder on why the Minjster initiated moves for the total removal of subsidy last January. Ironically, the same cabal(dominantly northerners) who feed fat on subsidy are the ones who sponsored the protests against the withdrawal and aligned with Tambuwal to convene an emergency sitting wherein a resolution was reached to set up a probe panel. He who plays the piper dictates the tune. So it therefore follows logically that if you want to dictate the tune, then you must take over the piper.

Several investigations had been instituted before the house probe. There was the Senate committe subsidy probe headed by senate committee chairman on petroleum downstream, senator magnus Abe. There was the KPMG audit. There was the AIG Imoukehde probe set up by the Minister of Finance. Yet the Speaker drafted a scion of the North, Farouk Lawan, from his duty post as Education committee chairman to begin a separate probe. True to plan, they began a TV series on tthe probe thus taking the attention off all the other probes going on quietly.

I must admit that i enjoyed the probe drama while it lasted, but what arose my curiosity was the inability of the probe panel to summon the likes of Northern oil administrators like Rilwanu lukman, who was both special advicer and Minister of petroleum in most part of the period under review and Barkindo, who was former NNPC GMD. After a long wait, the report was out to the admiration of all. But no sooner had the executive received it than the labour leader, Waheed Omar lead a solidarity vist to Tambuwal threatening fire and brimstone over the non implementation of the report by the executive arm. The opposition joined forces with his calls and soon shouts for Dieziani's sack rent the air.

Somehow I have the belief that GEJ had the information at his disposal that Farouk report lacked fairness hence his delay in implementing the report. Added to this, notable companies owned by some Northerners who participated in the subsidy regime were absent on the list. What more? The sudden delisting of Zenon and synopsis at the floor of the house and the video released by Otedola led to the irresistible conclusion that Farouk was far from credible. Now more facts are emerging on how some companies were given clean bill of health by the farouk probe in order to shield them from the real probe instituted by govt and headed by a distinguished technocrat, AIG Imuokhede

PoliticsRe: El-rufai On Boko Haram by dedeike:
El Rufai has gone full circle in his sojourn of lies. He is now in search of new tactics and strategy.

For sometime, he has been spreading hate messages and blackmail on twitter trying to deceive his gullible followers into the thinking that GEJ is incapable of leading Nigeria. In his thinking, demonising GEJ would be the easiest way to grab power in 2015. This is the height of delusions. The last time I checked, El Rufai had only 90,449 followers including my disloyal self just enough votes to make him the local government chairman of his LGA. Not done, he has crossed over to Nairaland seeking to erect his political aspirations on the bones of christain victims of Boko Haram attacks.

Again, it will not work. I beg to ask El rufai whether Kabiru sokoto, Maman Nur, Abu Quaca, shekau, Hammed Baba are all now christains? Though he may not have written this piece himself, El Rufai's resolve to rebroadcast this thrash shows how low he rates our sensibilities. but I trust Nairalanders, they hve risen to the occasion and made a caricature of this unintelligent write up. Next time, somebody should remind El Rufai that this is not his twitter handle where people's views are constricted by limitation of character space. This is Nairaland where issues are dissected and ideas cross pollinated. Welcome, Mr. El rufai. KOBOJUNKIE we know. BETATHINGS we know. What is your username?

I'm shocked that people who pride themselves as intellectuals still premiss their clamor for Diezani's sack on the FACROOK LAWAN subsidy probe Report. What else could be more ridiculous? It's akin to building a mansion on quicksand and expecting it to stand. If Farouk could be stashing money into his caps and pants, then one can imagine how many lies and fake conclusions he may have stashed into that report. As far as I'm concerned, that report is only fit to be consigned into the Chilean mines. Good enough, the Senate has continued its own subsidy probe which actually started before the House probe but was put on hold to allow Farouk/ co act out their drama. Now the drama is over, let the real probe begin.

PoliticsRe: Oil Theft Worsened After Jonathan’s Election by dedeike: 10:27am On Jun 29, 2012
sleek29: First, increasing local content is not the problem, what methods or processes were used to increase local content?, what are the names of the companies involved?, did they obtain their licences through due process?, who owns this companies?, politicians?, PDP politicians? businessmen?

These are the questions we should be asking government as they are accountable to us and not just blindly defending every GEJ action like some peeps in nairaland, dis number has increased drastically this past few weeks, guess GEJ has overhauled his PR or better still 'internet relations', I know you guys are just earning your pay, but try and be a lil objective in your arguments.
if you read both the article and my rejoinder thoroughly, you would hve known that we did not stop at the govt's drive for local content. I went the extra mile to refer to the article in paragraph 10 where it clearly stated that "STEPS HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO CREATE HIGH BARRIERS OF ENTRY FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE 2012-2013 TERM ALLOCATIONS". weappreciate that these barriers may not be error proof( as with everything in Nigeria) but it represents a bold step by the present govt to raise the bar and ward off unwanted operators pursuant to the TRANSFORMATION AGENDA
PoliticsRe: Patience Jonathan Wins ‘Tourism Ambassador For Africa’ Award by dedeike:
Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. All are lies. SHOPRITE OF LIES(SAHARAREPORTERS) will never stop marketing this falsehood even when it has become glaring that Nairalanders are loosing interest in buying them. Right from the first paragraph you would notice the inconsistencies and illogic.

On one breath, they said its one Nancy Ebere Nwosu that was charged for stealling 104 m, Yet this SHOPRITE OF LIES still flaunt the case title as EFCC V Patience Jonathan. In the 3rd paragraph, this SHOPERITE OF LIES shamelessly reported that in September 2006, EFCC caught Patience Jonathan with 13.5m US dollars and charged her before Obj nominated her husband for VP. This is about the most ridiculous gist I hve heard in a long while.

I don't knw whether this SHOPRITE OF LIES think us all on nairaland to be toddlers in 2006. Which court did EFCC bring the charges against Patience Jonatnan? Was such trial initiated behind loosed doors such that there is no single picture in proof of the First lady's appearance in court? Then how did GEJ's nomination as VP which was in December 2006 used to file for a stay of the trial on the "charges brought against " patience Jonathan in September 2006. Why must people be so dumb in propagating this cheap blackmail?

GEJ had alluded to this when he said jokingly in one of his media chats that some people hve been concocting the lies that his wife was caught in Dubai in possession of millions of dollars without reasoning the impossibility of anybody to be carrying such huge amount in cash around. It's so unfortunate that SHOPRITE OF LIES is destroying whatever is left of its credibility with junk stories like this.
PoliticsRe: Oil Theft Worsened After Jonathan’s Election by dedeike:
The above topic represents a subjective analysis of govts genuine efforts to ensure local content in our petroleum sector. This is the burden that the present Minster has come to grapple with even before her assumption of office last year. Her drive is to divest much of foreign control of oil exports thus bringing her in conflict with the IOC's.

The author of the piece admitted this much in the fourth paragraph viz: " Industry sources say the number of companies selling oil increased dramatically after Jonathan's election as PART OF A STRATEGY TO BROADEN LOCAL PARTICIPATION IN OIL SECTOR.." This no doubt is a policy initiative deserving of commendation. The article now tried to discredit this good policy on account of the activities of those who engage in age long oil bunkering. It read " ... oil thieves were offering mouth watering offers $10 m discounts to take the commodity of their hands..."

Now the big question is, did oil bunkering business in Nigeria start today? The answer is No. The second question then is, is the relevant govt authority in support of these bunkering and oil theft? The answer to this question is captured in the seventh paragraph viz; "...state oil company NNPC has placed a SCAM ALERT on its website warning of unsavory characters purporting to be bona Fide staff of NNPC or contractors to NNPC or purchasers of Nigerian crude oil or contractors to Nigerian govt..." does this in anyway suggest complicity by the authorities? The answer is No.

The article went further to exonerate Diezani by hinting of the efforts by govt to entrench hitherto non existing processes for participation. Paragraph 10 reads thus: "... One recent step that has been taken is the creation of high barriers for entry for participation in NNPC's 2012-2013 term allocations..." The article went ahead to hint that the Fg sponsored NEITI to do an investigation of the sector( thus reinforcing GEJ's claim on media chat on Sunday that he had long before the House probe taken steps to probe the oil sector) . NEITI submitted its report in January and revealed that billions of oil revenue are being lost to theft prompting the MINISTER TO INVITE MALLAM NUHU RIBADU to oversee our oil revenue.

Last Tuesday, GEJ sacked the NNPC Directors as part of govts continuous sanitisatisation of the sector. Ordinarily, these were matters that previous administrations failed to probe. Bunkering has always been good business in the history of Nigeria. But this govt is taking a bold step to handle it while ensuring that there is local content in our crude oil export sector. GEJ and Diezani deserves our maximum support.

Given countries like China, she wouldav been having a rendevouz with her ancestors since january! Stupid leaders, foolish folowers angry
Who told you they looted 3 trillion Naira under her watch? Farouk Lawan? Abi your instinct? If its Farouk, then you are stupid. Someone who was stashing dollars in his cap and pants like a butcher gave you a report and you're taking it to the bank. It's a pity. Nothing else could be more foolish than the calls for the implementation of Farouk Lawan's report, it just shows how biased and illogical some people can be. Tell me how can anyone say Farouk is a crook on one breadth and turn around again to insist that a report emanating from a crook should be implemented to the latter. Is that not madness? If anything, the arbitrary manner with which Farouk was tampering with that report by deleting and substituting names of companies on the floor of the house is enough proof to the fact that the report is far frm credible. If you now add to it the allegations that key govt officials from the north like Barkindo and Rilwanu lukman, who presided over the petroleum sector, were not invited to face the panel then you will now begin to appreciate that there's more to the Farouk report than meets the eye

In Aviation, Gej's govt has done a lot in one year. There has been massive reconstruction and rehabilitation works ongoing on all major airports across the country. In Abuja, the govt has totally closed down the domestic wing for rehabilitation. At the international wing of the Nnmadi Azikiwe international Airport, rehabilition works are being carried out on all airport facilities. The car parks are being expanded to cater for the increasing vehicular traffic, the runways are also being completely renovated causing a British airways plane to overshoot its run way a fortnight ago. We discussed that much in this forum. The renovations are also ongoing in Benin, Lagos and Kano airports. The entire Enugu airport has been shut down for months for a complete overhaul of the airport

Facts don't lie. Gej has in less than one year in office, inspite of Boko haram sponsored security challenge, done so much. Let's start with roads. SOUTH EAST. completion of Onitsha-Owerri, Award of Afikpo-Okigwe, rehabilitation of Onitsha-Enugu( though work is slow) and 9 th mile express. SOUTH SOUTH- Kolo-Nembe-Brass, Benin-Ore-Sagamu covering over 262.5 km awarded to Reynolds construction co, Auchi-Okene, SOUTH WEST. Apapa- Oshodi awarded to Julius Berger, with expansion works and drainage works. Construction of a trailer park, and a dedicated bridge linking Liverpool roundabout to Tin Can ports, Dualisation of Ibadan - Ilorin. NORTH CENTRAL-Lafia- obi -Awe, Minna -Suleja, Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia. NORTH West-Dualisation of Kano-Maidugri, Kano Byepass, Kaduna eastern bye pass, Zaria -Funtua-Guasu covering over 101 km. If anything , for the first time in this country, we saw a minister of information organise a Ministerial platform for all ministers to come and render an account of their stewardship in one yea. This marks a clear departure from the old era of govt propaganda and sloganeering of GOOD PEOPLE GREAT NATION. The minister also refurbished the radio house and it's now more sanitized than before. He increased salaries and allowances of information staff to boost their morale, he set up multimedia access to govt info and facilitated the enactment of FOI.

This is totally unacceptable. Who told this fake Proffessor that our president did not declare his assets? Those who hired him to rubbish GEJ should have told him that the issue is not about declaration of assets but OPEN Declaration of assets. Even the leading opposition in the country,-ACN addressed a press conference today where they stated that the President should as a matter of principle, OPENLY declare his assets. The crux of the matter is OPEN declaration not declaration because everyone knows the President indeed declared his assets and it is presently in custody of CCB. Why is the man saying rubbish?

Its taking Jona a decade to reharse madness, when will he enter market?
My brother, if you understand the level of decay and challenges in the power sector over the years, you will give kudos to this govt for what they have done so far. I hve been following activities in the power sector for a very long time. The challenges are enormous.

It's understandable that in the course of campaigns, GEJ must have made promises to fix the power sector immediately thus raising high hopes and expectations. Now that he has been confronted with the reality on ground, he is no longer in a hurry to make hasty commitments on the timeline for power stability. The reality is that there are no quick fix solutions to ending the power crisis in Nigeria. But the beauty of this transformation agenda is that the power Minister is taking bold steps and initiatives that will (though take sometime to mature) end the power crisis permanently. When govt announced its resolve to increase tariffs, many people including my self felt it was another exploitative move by govt.

But I had a rethink when I listened to Sam Amid, the NERC boss, clarify issues on Power Track. They say they have been able to record milestones in the completion and refurbishing of most power plants under the NIPP. however, adequate supply of Gas has been a major challenge.

The present arrangement where NGC, which is gas wing of NNPC, supplies gas to PHCN is inefficient and corruption prone leading to backlog of debts stalling supply. In a bid to resolve this problem ,govt set out to privatize the distribution process and also privatize PHCN. No private company would want to invest under the present tariff regime Which is heavily subsidized by govt hence the upward review to a cost reflective price.
The new cost reflective price which took effect from June 1 will encourage the IOC's to invest in gas with a view to making profit after supply. That is why you saw this bold move by Shell in IMO state. This is the very product of the much talked about power sector reforms. More are underway.
