2. Must be a person who is well travelled across Nigeria
3. Must be someone who has friends everywhere
4. Must be very verse in Economics
5. Must be a good Politician
6. Should be able to ‘talk’ to Nigerians
7. Should be in his Sixties
Atiku and Tinubu filled this void unfortunately Atiku is in his seventies as we speak so IBB is indirectly saying Nigeria needs BAT, the Jagaban of Borgu, A very good Nigerian leader who's knowledge of economics has made Lagos to be the only self sufficient state even the likes of Delta and Rivers that boast of oil and gas can't compete and someone that has been talking to Nigerians through his colloquium for the past 20 years. BAT knows people from everywhere, he spoke at Chatham house far before Atiku, the consulate of great nations has been visiting BAT since after last Election. The hand writing is everywhere for the blind to see.
He has tried. He should rest and become an elder to consult if and when necessary. He has groomed quite a number of younger people. Let's try those ones.
drsteroid: IBB isn't qualify to even speak on good governance let alone talking about the qualities of a leader who deserves to lead the country. He was once saddled with the responsibility of writing the wrongs of the country but ended up plundering the country deep into the well of bad governance. A man who truncated one of the most credible elections to have held in this country and the adjudged winner was never allowed to smell the seat of power shouldnt be the one to tell the kind of leader to correct the wrongs of his likes.
Smart people get wiser from experience. From the benefit of hindsight, he knows how and where he went wrong so he may be in a position to advise. Anyway, those are known good factors for consideration. Personally, I'd like to vote in a President who is below 65. In fact, preferably someone in his/her 50s who is enlightened, experienced on the economy and administration. He/she should still have the strength to cope with the heavy responsibility...no major health issues.
We need a new set of leaders who can bridge the wide gap between the old and the young to plan adequately for the future. For instance, the older generation is busy taking on so many loans, which the younger ones will have to pay. There should be proper communication of the terms and need for the loans. The younger ones should monitor these things.
Get involved, understand government policies and procedures even if you're not politically inclined. Be empowered to plan for the future by learning and taking action today. It's not just by protests. Be positively critical of what affects your life now and in the future. Show a level of understanding by proffering meaningful suggestions. Resigning to fate isn't the best option.
You guys hold the keys to the future. Wake up, get hold of it. Gbenu dake generation will submit to the soro soke generation in due course. Be prepared.
I know that Open University certificate (assuming it falls under that category) is well recognised though that depends on the organisation.
MBA and some professional qualifications done online are also good.
Beware of unrecognised institutions dishing out fake certificates for a fee. They hide under online degrees to churn out fake graduates. The Federal Ministry of Education does verification and accreditation of institutions both locally and through the equivalent offices abroad.
Lord please deliver us from this plague. I know a number of people who had COVID-19 in the 1st and 2nd phases. Some died sadly. Most traumatic. Praying that I won't hear any bad news again.
Basher8583: Are they taxable income? Speak for yourself if you are losing. Nigeria does not give a flying fvck
FG should be concerned really. This is about reducing unemployment and improved social welfare for the people. They have to survive before paying tax. Sometimes the overall impact of such on households and the economy outweighs fiscal considerations.
If it's about registration and tax of twitter, they can find a way around it.
tony0806: Are there Christians in those villages that have been captured by BH in Niger state? If there are, are their stories heard at all? How are they coping? What's the level of persecution they are going through?
Father in the name of Jesus! I join the host of other brethren praying for your children in these communities. Let help arise
There are indigenous Christians and Muslims in many parts of Niger State.
They found him guilty of fraud without taking him for court trial and gave him heavy fines/refund to pay? Payments into personal accounts and not the court. Strange! That's like the summary of what I see here anyway.
Congrats to her and kudos to the security team and the Governor who motivated them.
I wish the Baptist School students kidnapped in Kaduna and the Islamiyyah school in Niger state can be rescued like that. Also the FGC Yauri students.
So strange that hundreds of children are in the jungle and no one has been able to locate them. It's a tech driven world. The satellite, drones etc exist. Why can't these poor kids be rescued? It's really heartbreaking.
Osugbo: Not many people are aware that there are living and thriving Yoruba cultures in the two West African countries of Sierra Leone and Gambia, that is apart from the well known Nigerian, Beninese and Togolese Yoruba communities.
This is a thread dedicated to The Yoruba and Creole (krio) peoples, majority of which are of Yoruba descent as well as their cultural practices in the West African countries of Sierra Leone and The Gambia. Language, Music, Literature, E.tc.
There are an estimated 800,000 Krios in Sierra Leone, while in Gambia, the Akus make up another estimated 5% of the population and they are very very influential in both countries, and one thing that is quite known about Yorubas and Yoruba descended people is that the culture always follow them wherever they go regardless of location..
Some notable Sierra Leonean Creoles/Yorubas include:
Oloh Israel Olufemi Cole Adetokumboh McCormack, Abel Nathaniel Bankole Stronge Abioseh Nicol Ade Renner Thomas Akiwande Josiah Lasite Ogunlade Davidson Rev. Victoria Gladys Abeoseh Wilson-Cole Walter Balogun Nicol Winstanley Bankole Johnson Dr. John Augustus Abayomi-Cole - Medical doctor, politician Herbert Bankole-Bright - Medical doctor and politician Abel Nathaniel Bankole Stronge - Current speaker of parliament David Omoshola Carew - Current Minister of Trade and Industry Ogunlade Davidson - Current Minister of Energy and Power Winstanley Bankole Johnson - Mayor of Freetown from 2004 to 2008 Abioseh Davidson Nicol - Author and diplomat Ade Renner Thomas - Former Chief Justice of Sierra Leone
And countless others. Ps: I am Creole of Yoruba descent who is a national of Sierra Leone.
Interesting. I'm pleasantly surprised that they still bear Yoruba names. Perhaps some still have relatives here.
I would also like to hear stories from the Ewe, Akan and the Yoruba groups in Togo and Benin.
Those in the Caribbeans, Brazil and Cuba still keep the culture alive too.
Why don't you create a thread on the video of the Eastern Port that you posted? Valuable information for those who do business in the East. A good alternative to the congested Apapa port.

KiNg0G: Mahn, no one like those men on blacks.. Their oppression and all is horrible.
Buh a Snitch is a Snitch.
I got no respect for a snitch.
Why you got to tell on your own niggas, just to get your time cut?.
Come on abass, the game ain't played that way.
Some niggas even get payed for doing times.. hushpuppi just lost my respect.... even though he snitched on a cop.
He still going to snitch on some of his blood niggas.
Am from the south... the Creeks of ijaw water side, am not a Fulani.
He pleads guilty, then start snitching... come on mahn that's so weak
He should have quietly do the years, and come out like a king...
Am just an OG like you... spitting some facts.
He didn't have to snitch, probably didn't. FBI monitored his calls and messages for a long time from what we're seeing. They have enough information to deal with suspected accomplices.
If the bride is Yoruba, the culture is that ALL friends and family members pay for aso ebi or bridal train uniforms. Parents pay for their children if they're chosen as little bride/groom. It's only if the bride or groom is comfortable enough that they may choose to pay. Also if the person desired for the role isn't financially capable.
FarahAideed: How is he going to deny this one now ..Maybe he went to deliver the clothes Hush puppy bought from him....So you now understand how mompha was arrested....
Hushpuppi singing like a bird like the berebe he is . Abba Kyari should have known better than collect anything from berebe .
The main issue is that Hushpuppy's calls and movements were monitored by FBI. Kyari probably didn't know. Hushpuppy didn't have to say anything except to agree with what they already know.
May God guide you to a woman who will give you peace and show you real love. A partner that you will love and cherish.
However, don't generalise. Not all single mums bring up bitter kids. Some are smart enough to separate their mum's issues with their dad from the desirable good father/child relationship which provides a good mental and emotional balance for the kids as they grow up.
Some children brought up by single parents are also smart enough to know how to be fair on both sides. I agree though, that the mother's personality and family background has an impact on a youngster's life.
Truly a background check is ideal irrespective of the circumstances. Those from good homes may have other issues that may be unbearable. It's actually the first step to take going by the traditional procedure towards marriage.
@OP The days of "loud" weddings are over for average people. Starting from the cost of hiring the event centre and decorations, you'll find that the expenses can be outrageous. Food is a different matter. Your old budget has no bearing to today's realities.
It's not worth all the headache anyway. No matter how grand it is, people will still find something to complain about. It's wise to have a low key wedding with family and close friends in attendance.
Save your funds towards a mortgage and childcare needs in the near future.
Bovis: Most people don’t know that Sunday is not just into arms smuggling, land grabbing and stealing of exotic vehicles across the borders. He also worked as a hired assassin for politicians. Rumour has it that he had a hand in the assassination of Bola Ige (former Attorney General) through links with Ladoja
"Rumour has it..." So why wasn't he arrested all this while since it's known that he's a car dealer? Anything to give a dog a bad name to hang it.
