You get power to explain. A lot of youths are actually too lazy to read, do research and learn basics about this virus, but would rather spread rumours and propaganda.

Then people wonder why Africa is backward!
You’re absolutely right!

Can you cope with your guy dating other women while you struggle alone (even without financial considerations)? Being a baby mama is practically the same as single motherhood. Reflect on that very well before you take a decision.

Thankfully she has moved on. The guy who interviewed her launched a go fund me account for her which yielded a lot of money. I watched the updated video. She got a place to stay, got a job and plans to go back to school. According to the guy, she’s the first person to be truly committed to change among all those he has tried to help. Many are too far gone sadly.

This explains the scam in COVID 19 in Nigeria, I read about him running away a long time now and if it takes 14 days for the virus to develop and this man is still healthy then he doesn’t have the virus , they should free him
It means that she is asymptomatic. She won't develop symptoms but can infect others sadly.

You can advise her without necessarily referring to what you saw. Your wife can also get close to her like a sister to know what's on her mind. In the process of talking to her, your insider knowledge will guide you or your wife on the questions to ask that will indirectly reveal all that you already know. It will then be easier to guide her as you pray along for her to turn a new leaf. If it is convenient for you, you may also encourage her to plan better for her future by encouraging her to develop herself. Part time studies in academics or a vocation so she has less time for frivolities.

Some people just need a shoulder to lean on and a good soul that is willing to listen to their woes so they can get valuable advice. Probably God brought her to your doorstep for this singular reason. Do your best and rely on God for guidance and strength.

As for the issue of "mind your business ", the point is that she used the office phone which is accessible to others. Besides this, if she aborts and gets into trouble, her family can point accusing fingers at you if they don't know the truth about her lifestyle. The lifestyle of an employee often impacts on a business one way or the other.

It's safer to buy from reputable Estates/Property developers these days. You can easily monitor the project this way. That's how Amen Estate for instance built a level of trust with Nigerians abroad. There are
others like Adron Homes etc ( I'm not marketing for them...just based on what I've seen.)

There are too many cases of people being swindled or even murdered by so called family and friends in matters like this. A word is enough for the wise.

How can southerners redeem ourselves from this mental slaveryhuh
The rail line was completed by GEJ. Only final touches were made towards the commissioning. It's not the same as Lagos Ibadan expressway and the Niger Bridge which were still in the early stages.

What do you think about nairaland developing an online marketing app to compete with jiji?
I think it will go a long way to better Nigeria online marketing especially when it will be competitive with "jiji", the Nigeria no. 1 online marketing store.
One of the advantage is that it will grow fast especially when some of its traffic will be generated from nairaland forum and will be very competitive
Good idea!

Education › Re: I Have Been Withdrawn From Medical School. I Can't Tell My Parents by delpee(f): 9:48pm On Jun 03, 2020
sagna112:
My name is Uche a 100Level supposed medicine and surgery student of a Nigerian University, I used to be very brilliant and that was what instigated me to apply for Medicine and Surgery after acquiring an aggregate score of 270 in both JAMB and POST-UTME Examinations, I was then admitted a years ago into a university.

I am the only child of my parents, they have spent so much on me just to make sure I become a doctor, dad had to sell one of his plots of land to pay for my registration fees, purchase a brand new laptop, a phone and clothes for me and all my needs, Mum who has no job since she was sacked by the state government will always try to send the little that will pass through her, when I think of the way she announced to her friends when I gained admission to study Medicine it brings tears from my eyes.

It will be an injustice on me to be blamed or for me to blame myself, I know the effort I have also made, I have always taken my studies serious, I never missed any lecture, I neither miss assignments nor tests, I sit at the front of the class, I don't keep bad gangs, I have never attended a party, sometimes I do RTDB (Read Till Day Break), what is then my offense? why me?

At the end of my 100 level Second semester my CGP was reading 4.2 without a single carryover, I was very happy because I thought I had scaled through the danger zone.

The unexpected occurred when I logged into the school portal at the end of my Second Semester Examination to check my result, I cleared all the courses with A's and B's but a course was reading Carryover, I nearly fainted when I saw the result, it was a biology course I offered in second semester to me the course was the simplest of all. I did not inform my parents because I din not want to dishearten them.

The school resumed, so I went to my HOD and complained, she took me to the Exam office who searched thoroughly for my script and from what I saw it was obvious I failed, I scored 32% and was asked to change department, my HOD advised that I go to Biological Sciences, my eyes were filled with tears.

How do I tell my parents this, it only mean I have brought shame to them. I have remained in school since then crying from one angle to another I don't know whether to go home to my parents to inform them of the truth or keep telling them lies.

I need your sincere advice.
I empathise with you. If this is true, come up with an alternative plan and confide in your parents. For instance, you can take Jamb exam again and apply to another institution if you want to study medicine at all cost. Alternatively, you can change to another course within your current institution...Biochemistry, Microbiology etc. Whatever you plan to do, let your parents know. Pray that God makes it easy for you all. They may hurt for a while but it's better to allow them to deal with it and move on.

Don't tell your parent anything. Or you want to kill them too? Pretend as though you are still in school, collect money for books, get your school fee by yourself; use the money to drink and have all the fun you can, take drugs, just have fun. Never make the mistake of writing another Jamb or reapplying. Who studies biological science? You are far beyond that. In the next three years, go to wherever in Lagos and get a university MBBS certificate. Travel to the north, you will get a job. Pay your tithe. You will be forgiven for those that die in your care. It is their time_ right? The best Sir--+ and don't forget to hide or delete the diary where you said you are studying engineering. May you get the attention that you seek.
This is very unfair to say the least!
Crime › Re: Couple Steals 10-Month-Old Baby In Umuahia by delpee(f): 10:53pm On Jun 02, 2020
I watched an episode on Crime Fighters (TVC) on a similar true case which was enacted for viewers. A couple from the East pretended to be new in town in the North. They got friendly with neighbours and eventually stole a toddler who was sold to a woman in the South East. The baby was rescued after the wife was arrested with her business partner. Very good job done by Police investigators.

People should learn to be wary of allowing unfettered access to their kids.

I'm not in any way excusing these actions, but I have to think these people did this because the grief of losing multiple children drove them mad. And maybe their finances made them ineligible for adoption.

They say most of these cases aren't trafficking. It's people who want a child. So at least wherever the child is, they're likely to be loved.
The child is loved at the expense of other people's happiness and future! huh Nothing justifies the stealing of another woman's child. It's as bad as murder.

I know but a lot are just more fever. A lady was isolated here in delta who was just have a different sickness. Before she went to the general hospital, she has already gone for test and she just said she should go to the government hospital that will be more affordable. They just held her that she has covid 19, and they isolated her for one week without food. She was force to record herself and send the video on Facebook for people to see. We have a lot of fake covid 19 patient there
That's wickedness! Denied her freedom for no reason. Most people can treat this ailment easily at home. Besides most people with minor symptoms get over it quickly once they use appropriate drugs.

linearity:
Very unlikely that, she will be positive for 58 days or so going.

Too long a time for the virus to be serious active in her body. Her body immunity will not be standing idle for those days and just looking at the virus.

I will question NCDC testing/test kits and it is also possible for the test kits they are using to pick up the dead virus, hence we heard of some people who previously tested negative are testing positive....NCDC must have missed her negative test window and are now picking up the dead virus which is part of her healing process and she can’t infect anyone.
A lot of sense in this. Thanks

May God continue to guide and protect our frontliners. They've done so well. May the souls of those that lost their lives in the process of saving others lives, rest in perfect peace.

Interesting! So why do people still believe that COVID 19 is a scam? It's here for real as I've always known. We're just lucky that our traditional methods of dealing with malaria and flu which are the major symptoms have worked for most people.

Anyway, the Lagos Commissioner for Health told us before that many will have it without knowing because the symptoms will be mild.

I wish to start same business there because I've gotten enough customers but I'll join their union where as the law the union is dishing out is not favourable to me. There's no good reasons for their law.. the law is only favourable to the leaders. If I'm to sell clothes in that same market I'll also join a union. Every business has it's union. I'm not trying to do this to hurt my mum but to break free from these bondage called law
Do things differently. There are people selling onions and other foodstuff online. Many people now buy foodstuff by sharing cows, bags of tomatoes, onions et al online. You only pay a small delivery cost in addition to the total cost of items purchased.

I once read the story of a lady whose husband was transferred to the North and got involved in bulk Onion trade between the NW and Lagos ( I can't remember if it was here on NL). Mostly her transactions are online and I don't think she belongs to any union. She has no shop in the market anyway.

This market union thing has it's benefits and limitations. You can always choose a different approach provided you won't have a stall in the open market.

He was a successful lawyer before he became a Commissioner.
