CalabarPikin:Many pictures have been shown including videos recorded at the Yaba and Onikan centres. TVC was at Yaba to interview some patients recently. Some of the discharged patients have also related their experiences on TV. Google is your friend. |
pocohantas:Yeah. Good for you to finish what you started and expect nothing in return. It's all service rendered unto the Lord. Besides, many people just chop and clean mouth so it's best not to bother about their reaction. That's hoping that they still don't go ahead to malign you. In summary, only God rewards adequately. We'll keep doing our bit while leaving the rest to him. |
enemyofprogress:You're talking to the wrong person! |
Abilistic:Most of the donations are tied to specific projects not just cash. GTBs 1bill was mainly used for the building and equipping of the Onikan Centre for instance. Another one is being built in Yaba IDH. Dangote, CBN Governor, Access Bank MD, Prof Abayomi and some others were seen inspecting the site last week. (News Report plus video). Probably they need to dedicate part of the funds towards the purchase of test kits and reagents. |
manchy7531:Ignorance is a serious problem. |
Yorubas say "Iyawo buruku se fe, ana buruku o se ni" which roughly means you can have a bad wife but having bad in laws is not advisable. It doubles your problem. Since there's no one worthy of her respect in her family, you can't expect anything better from her. She can't reason in a better way because her faults are tolerated or ignored by those who should talk to her. Make up your mind on what is best for you. Your life has no duplicate..live well. |
The State Government should endeavor to procure a mining license in conjunction with the relevant Local Governments for the benefit of the people. That should create jobs and wealth in the localities if we’ll managed. It’s an opportunity to reprogram the minds of youths in the area for learning and progress. If they learn how to mine, the whole society reaps the benefits in the long run. |
pocohantas:Hmmm! I remember giving some clothes (not old clothes o) to a younger cousin years ago. Her mum later called to thank me in a sarcastic manner...summary was that she deserved better! It was more of going the extra mile on my part at that time so I felt so sad. It taught me a hard lesson though. I will always give those who are truly in need not greedy fellows. |
We’ll keep doing our best and leave the rest to God. She has done her bit. The people will reap according to their individual actions. It’s the law of nature. The #feedikoyi guy has the support of soldiers around Obalende so the people are orderly to a large extent. For those who don’t want to go to that extent, it’s safer to give through Churches and Mosques or Ward heads where this in need can be identified. They know there people and they’re smaller units that can coordinate themselves. Also crediting the accounts of artisans, drivers etc and less privileged people known to us will go a long way. |
Trayceey:Sometimes it's the economic consideration. The reality is that once the children succeed, oga will be O-Y-O till death do them part. Such was the case of an old man picked up from the streets of Lagos a while ago. The children abandoned him cos of his irresponsibility in their younger days. These things still happen to old school women. |
Richy4:These things happen....some even worse. Some of us have seen all kinds over the years. I fit write book sef... ![]() |
Ayomideayo:I've come across worse tales from people that I know. A former colleague at work died under similar circumstances. Of course we made sure that her benefits were handed over to her family who opted to look after her kids. Sad stories everywhere. Many have conditioned their minds to live like widows while looking up to God for comfort. Children find it difficult to forgive these days. The man should prepare for a lonely old age even if his wife forgives him. He's a wicked man from a bad family. Otherwise the family elders should have been fair in their judgement for the sake of his future at least. |
What was Ganduje doing when his next door neighbour, El Rufai was preparing facilities in his state to fight COVID? That's not to mention other states that went out of their way to raise funds to provide the much needed facilities before the FG intervened. Kano people were busy singing babu corona and playing Corona football league. Same people who said a large number of deaths was due to Malaria etc Muric isn't serious. |
Very sad and most unfortunate. Our medical personnel need counselling and prayers to stay strong and fit in this COVID era. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. A true heroine indeed. |
Most unfortunate but the truth is that the story is the same abroad. You can't even go to the hospital in the early stages in some cities there as explained by someone who was affected and had to self isolate and battle the virus at home. Luckily it was mild and she pulled through by complying with medical advice. There's shortage of facilities and manpower everywhere. That's obvious. I don't believe that there's any intention to ignore anyone. Let's appreciate and keep praying for our frontline personnel. This is no time to drag issues in public space. There are better ways to manage this and achieve results. |

Acidosis:Haba! This has nothing to do with Ramadan. The points have been well articulated by officials several times over. If you’ve been reading about cases that were publicized, you’ll understand that many now don’t know how and when they got infected. That’s community infection. Public transportation, markets, shopping malls, offices, hospitals, schools,Churches, Mosques, restaurants, hotels and clubs are places where many people can get infected at once. If we keep these places open when we have not tested a large number of people, we’ll be taking a huge risk. That’s what happened in Italy, Spain and US. In South Korea, it exploded when one infected person went to Church! Honestly, I understand the hunger bit which is what I think we should address. Relaxing the lockdown now may not be in our best interests. We don’t have the facilities to cope with massive infection. Only when we survive can we reboot our economy. People should help the less privileged as much as possible by providing food especially for them to stay at home. I’ve realized that toiletries are much needed too. May God help us fight our battle against this unseen enemy. Amen |
mabeni:Fast and pray against retrogression and stagnation. Most things are settled in the spiritual realm before they manifest physically in our lives. That's why it's necessary to have presence of mind and to pray targeted prayers when necessary. May God answer your prayers. |
@Op Talk to your mum when she’s in a good mood. Remind her of what the Bible says about taking care of the fatherless or the equivalent in the Quran if you’re a Muslim. Tell her that only God knows tomorrow. She can be in a position to help any of you in future. There are so many real life examples of such. Discuss with your dad too for a better understanding of the situation. Perhaps he needs to reassure your mum in some ways. It’s good that you know that If you don’t treat her well today, it will remain in her memory even if she forgives. Persuade your mum to ignore the girls mums attitude. She should understand that your dad means well. Keep doing your best and tutor the mind of your younger brother to understand the possible consequences of what he’s doing. |
May God protect our frontliners and their families. Amen. |
abdulkayus:True but a lot had been done in Yaba IDH by LASG before FG intervened. In addition, the private sector has done well in Lagos. Onikan Isolation Centre was built, equipped and donated by GTBank. Mandilas donated the air conditioning system. A group of professionals has donated another Isolation Centre at Landmark Centre, Lekki. |
This is very sad. Anyone who can't go through the normal immigration process should please stay back home. Some girls were rescued recently from Lebanon. The traffickers (including a Lebanese) were arrested. I hope this gets to the Foreign Affairs Minister, NAPTIP and Abike Dabiri. |
Ladylite:This will work if: 1.The man has been responsible or the woman is dependent on him 2. The woman truly loves him but is unhappy due to some things he has done which can be put right 3. He had a good relationship with the kids before things turned sour 3. There are good memories for the family to recall. Otherwise his exit will temporarily provide a sense of relief and “freedom” to his family. They may thus be blinded and permanently lose the opportunity to reunite as a family if the man opts to move on out of frustration. If communicating directly with his wife isn’t possible now, he needs to get a trusted elder (not necessarily family) or a Counsellor involved. |
If the other 2 women had children for her late husband, they’re also entitled to a share of what he has. She should go to Human Rights Commission or or Brekete as earlier suggested. |
For now, it's best to make your own face mask from thick tissue, scarves, big handkerchiefs etc. There are Ankara masks now by the way. Washable masks are better for us provided they're not porous. Test by trying to blow out a lit match or candle when you have it on. |
Hades2016:This isn't nice ....not even as a joke. |
The lady has since apologised. The story is false. The Estate residents gave food packs to the less privileged people in their area. Those outside were just waiting to take their turn inside when she did her recording at the entrance. She should have verified before posting. |
Probably the rice seized and now released by the Nigerian Customs as directed by FG. Is the Governor expected to open each bag of rice to ascertain the contents? Can the contents not be changed en route delivery? I know people are hungry and efforts are being made to ameliorate their suffering. It's good for us as individuals to do our bit too. Let's keep praying to see the end of COVID do we can get back to managing our lives as before. |
May his soul rest in perfect peace. Private hospitals have to be very careful in the management of patients in this COVID era. |
What has he done to help? |
SavageResponse:Those who know should inform us. That should be published. |
adioolayi:Cross River State is already producing without much ceremony. |
