Digmygold:Will the governor go to the market to buy the beans ? Can he inspect everything bought on his behalf? That doesn't totally exonerate the governor but the woman should have been more temperate with her words. Those who are truly hungry will gladly pick out the stones and use for gbegiri, akara or moinmoin if it's not suitable for beans porridge. |
Romanoff:Home made masks are equally effective and reusable. How to make masks from basic items (e.g hard kitchen tissue, scarves and large handkerchiefs) at home has been demonstrated online. Just google a few. |
factormatt6:Are you testing their effectiveness or truly ill? I'm asking for a good reason. |
Who are the Awawa boys? Why are they beyond the control of government? I don't understand why innocent people have to suffer while their tormentors walk free. |
oscarsam:There are already cases of infection of people without travel history. |
If you're feeling this bad, why don't you call a family member or friend to visit a nearby hospital on your behalf? Even if they can't help you, they'll notify the appropriate authorities on your behalf to prevent a breakout in their neighbourhood. God will surely heal you like others. Those on the frontline mentioned a while ago that they receive a lot of false alarms. They will naturally be wary of putting out the meagre resources at their disposal only to find out that it's a prank. Requesting for an ambulance just to see that the system works is so unfair to those who may truly need the same facility urgently. |
@Op God bless you marvellously. As you have given, God will give back to you in greater measure in accordance with His word. If everyone who is capable can give out the little they can afford, life will be a lot easier for the vulnerable. Let’s do our bit to save lives. Governments efforts will always be frustrated by corrupt workers who are part of us. Greed and corruption is the problem. COVID 18 will be put to shame in Nigeria by God’s grace. |
Oh no! Sad loss. May God comfort and uphold her family as her soul rests in peace. Amen |
This is getting out of hand. |
He's simply practising what he preached. Stay at home, stay safe. |
There's no approved vaccine for COVID 19. How can there be immunization in that regard? |
You’re a great guy for keeping to the straight and narrow path against all odds. You’re also a very caring man (going by your first story). May God open doors of favor unto you. Bountiful blessings will come your way. Pleasant surprises shall be yours as God rewards your labor of love and total commitment. I pray that Samuel brings you a lot of joy. May God lead you to a woman who will love, cherish you and add value to your life. May Shola’s soul rest in perfect peace. |
emmydee:Collect and give someone who needs it in your neighborhood like the elderly, widows, gateman, artisans and drivers who can’t work now. |
joefelin2345:Yes, she was quite active and well known during the Murtala Mohammed/ Obasanjo era around 1976-79. May her soul rest in perfect peace. |
leaculpa:How did you deduce suffering from what she said? All I can see is a happy couple who have weathered the storms of their lives decently. |
olasaad:The General Hospitals will make good use of them. |
What Shina is saying makes sense. It can be increased to 1000 households per LG and we'll still be saving a lot of money. Everyone will be able to identify the poorest families in each ward. That way the people are involved and there's transparency and accountability. Over time the beneficiaries can change in the event of improvement in their lives. |
Is this even possible? Anyway, other corporate organisations should have followed GTBs footsteps. Use your money to deliver what you want to donate. GTB built an Isolation Centre and equipped it. Mandilas supported with air conditioning systems. Let's see what the funds donated by others will achieve. Hopefully it won't be spent on entertainment, allowances and inflated contracts. |
Whosoever posted her picture should have been kind enough to find out why she’s there. We’re expected to be “Good Samaritans”. We’re losing good values so fast. All for show and “likes” at the expense of the sufferer. |
It is up to the CDAs to identify the poorest and most vulnerable in an area. I think it is irresponsible of them to give a package to a whole street. Why not find out those who need it most and give to them? Hopefully others will understand since they know each other well enough to determine who needs help the most at a point in time. In all honesty, there’s little that the Governor can do about this. He can’t visit every street to deliver packages. Indiscipline is our greatest problem. As with the leaders, so it is with the people. Some of the packs are also being repackaged by the middle men it seems. |
Hmmm! The Lagos Commissioner explained that most of the cases that we have are mild or moderate. Of course in such cases, the immune system fights the virus hence the reason why Vitamin C, fruits, vegetables, turmeric, garlic, ginger and black seed oil are of great help. A virus runs it's course and the person heals if the immune system is okay. Still we have to be careful so as not to mislead our people. Those with underlying illnesses or with more serious symptoms may not be healed this way. It's best to comply with government/ doctors directives in addition to boosting the immune system. |
We're better off producing our own masks. There are several videos on the internet teaching us how to make our masks at home. Also how to test it's efficacy... If you can blow out a candle when you have it on, it's useless. I'm not a medical personnel though. Superior opinions are most welcome. The more we learn about COVID 19 now, the better. |
May God bring peace to Borno whichever way. |
Litmus:Hmmm! Another view. God knows the truth and will reveal all in due season. No secret lasts forever. |
Looking back to the ECOMOG days when we held sway as the best in West Africa. Our soldiers helped restore peace in Liberia and Sierra Leone plus peacekeeping functions in Sudan and Bosnia. It's sad that we've sunk so low. Meanwhile, I pray that they find the Chibok girls, Leah Sharibu and others held against their will. |
SavageMaster:Thank you for all that you do to help people especially now that we have a crisis. It shall always be well with you and yours. We keep praying for you all. God will protect you and guide your steps. You will live in good health and not die young. We will look back years down the line and be thankful for God's mercies over us all. God bless you. |
The Bible says we should give privately. Islam also recommends that. You don't need to announce it if you want to derive full blessings from God. Many Churches do so quietly because they understand this perfectly. Some announce to show accountability to their members. Social responsibility is a key value in Christianity and Islam. You're expected to care most especially for the poor, widows, orphans, the homeless, the sick and those in prison. That's why Church Ministries revolve around that. Imams may not have access to so much funds because Zakat is centrally collected. (I think). What they give their poor members may be personal to them. |
uuzba:She's 60 and started singing in the 70s. She was married to Kollington Ayinla another popular Fuji musician then. You may not know her since you're 25 years old. |
namedo:Are you a medical doctor? @Op Please get in touch with NCDC using the displayed phone numbers or call the nearest hospital to link you up with them. May God heal you and your family. |
Wow! See how medical personnel are unnecessarily exposed to Coronavirus. Selfish people indeed. Why go to LUTH to tell lies and mix with other patients? We all know that those with travel history are better off reporting to IDH Yaba if they feel unwell. PPE should be provided for our doctors and nurses urgently. We need them to stay alive like everyone else. |
How about those who gun down students and teachers in schools in the US? |
Saifullah01:They will derail the thread with the usual tribal banters, advertisements, fund raising and totally irrelevant comments. If there's a way to curb all that on the suggested forum, it will be a platform that will generate great ideas for the government and the society. |
