This man will soon be full of regrets if he marries this lady. Let's assume it's a Nollywood scene. ![]() |
From what I know, (I'm not speaking on his behalf- he doesn't know me sef ), Femi Gbaja has tried so hard to prevent this unnecessary negative publicity. We all know Naija mums with birthday owambes when they can afford it. I believe that's what has happened in this case. In reality though, those going will pay for their airfares and accommodation. I don't see him doing that. Most are family members and close friends anyway.Happy 90th birthday to Alhaja Gbajabiamila. May the Lord bless her with more graceful years. |
What baffles me is that there's market space within Ijeh barracks which these women can use. Some are said to have stalls/shops in the market but prefer to have a "branch" on the pavement by the roadside. That's not good if true. It's assumed that they're mostly officer's wives so POWA should create spaces for them instead of building expensive shops for letting to more comfortable people. I do empathize greatly with our poor long suffering women especially. There has to be a way of providing affordable stalls off the road for their enterprise. Many indeed are breadwinners in their families. Unfortunately, if all that we do is to apply sentiment, we'll be living in very dirty and unsecured environment. This could be harmful to our health in the long term. |
References:He needs psychiatric help and counseling. We really need to pay more attention to mental health and de emphasize “village people “. |
Ifesinachi22:Hmmm! Be careful. It’s not always that simple. |
I appreciate his initiatives on the empowerment of the youth and poor people in our land. Even as his initial efforts have been taken from his office and converted to a Ministry, he keeps coming up with great ideas to ensure a great future for our youth especially. I read his speech at the Convocation ceremony of Federal University Dutse. (I remember and appreciate GEJ for the new Federal Universities.) The speech was loaded with everything an aspiring graduate or school leaver needs to know in terms of career options for the future. Every SSS student should read it. Knowledge indeed is power. Kudos to VP. May God guide and protect him always. May He grant him wisdom and more grace to keep him moving against all odds. |
We need a travel ban cos we can’t handle COVID 19. It’s highly infectious, too deadly and has no real cure. People should understand that money is useless in the face of certain death. Traveling up and down for business and pleasure now is too risky. We still have Lassa Fever to cope with. May God protect us from this horrible disease. Amen |
Maybe I'm naive or ignorant but I don't understand what young people gain from cultism. Pyrates Confraternity which we all claim to be the origin of cultism had disciplined, intelligent members in my university days until immature minds joined them...I think. They came out in the open on ceremonial days to maintain order. The only problem we had with them was their occasional night sailing which disrupted the movement of those reading in class at night. They gave sufficient notice anyway and kept within the time frame. When students got tired (just before our final year exam) they revolted and dealt with them in broad daylight. ![]() The idea behind and origin of today's FRSC lies within the Pyrates who were known for maintaining social order. |
Sholaco:Amen! |
chatinent:Not true in this case. They have a team that is willing to work for the good of all. If you know any clinic that is operating illegally, please inform them. They will surely act on the information. |
BabaOwen:Google Meat Huts and Lekki Farms for instance. |
There are ranches around Lagos and Ogun States that supply meat to big supermarkets like Shoprite, Spar etc. Some have their own outlets especially around Lekki. By the way, there are many options. Some of us don't eat beef. The reality is that it's not as healthy as others like fish, guinea fowl, goat meat, chicken etc People should breed more goats, rams et al as good alternatives to beef. |
Arguments without facts! How do we know that they haven't married legally? They only need two witnesses plus the Registry official who can do it for them privately at a cost. Not everyone queues up at Ikoyi Registry. That doesn't mean he shouldn't do the right thing traditionally. He already took an initial step on that anyway. There's tradition and there's the law. Both are valid in our society. |
I don't like lazy guys who turn to Yahoo instead of making use of their talents and education for great accomplishments. Still I wonder....are they worse than "unknown gunmen" and Boko Haram fighters? Shouldn't the government concentrate more energy on those that are taking lives and destabilising whole societies? Young men are being needlessly harrassed so much these days. It's getting scary. I think it's wise to carry out proper investigation before arresting anyone. Arresting on the basis of suspicion isn't fair. May the footballers soul rest in perfect peace. |
We have enough funds for bullet proof jeeps, big parties, luxurious mansions/estates, private jets etc but never enough for the most basic necessities of life. We have a long way to go. |
All these from the technically defeated group. Na wa o! |
Disgraceful indeed! Even a Prince knows what royalty is all about. |
KVC1970:Sounds strange at times but I’ve listened to some testimonies along this line. |
It seems that you never loved your husband. You probably got married to him for a different reason and hoped everything will fall in place thereafter. People who marry out of pity fall into the same category. Search your mind and tell yourself the hard truth so you can decide on what’s best for you under the circumstances. |
The Emir of Kano was absolutely right. With this type of mindset, the majority up North can only sink deeper into poverty. This man is comparing his privileged child who can have an Arabic teacher to himself to the poor, plate carrying almajiris on the street. A world apart indeed! |
Yankee101:That's wisdom. At least we got a lot of money from that deal. It's better than losing out totally. Still, there should be a way of getting more funds out for the sake of the underprivileged in our society instead of giving it to one person. It baffles me how anyone will be comfortable having so much of our commonwealth in the midst of abject poverty. |
Obatofunmi:Very funny. Crazy world that we live in now. |
We have been passing this information around for a long time now . May God keep protecting our brothers and sisters in Wuham.
Amen! |
Let's just say the money is sufficient to maintain four wives and 27 + X children. |
Boyooosa:I don't really know. Just that I used to see their glass donors box in Shoprite few years back. I also know that corporations contribute to the fund. Perhaps you should google Lagos State Security Trust Fund for more details. |
happney65:Thanks for the explanation. |
Making mockery of an important project it seems. Anyway hunters in the North have been effective in the location and arrest of criminals. I believe there'll be regular security officers too. |
happney65:This sounds good but NURTW is established by law I think. Hope he has given due consideration to that. |
Buying land and building in highbrow estates is the best bet for those in the diaspora. I think some like Adron Homes and Amen Estate are safe and can build on their behalf. Informing family members is a no no in this era. |
Let's hope that the land will not end up in the hands of the current government officials. If so, it will be taken over again by a new government. |
Wondering how this adds value to their lives. We all know that tobacco isn't good for our health and more especially women who have kids. Freedom should go with knowledge, understanding, wisdom and decency. That's what is at the core of the practise of religion. |
immantoks:Hmm! The Modakeke Oba prostrated before the Ooni at a peace meeting remember? Modakeke people are great warriors no doubt. They made things tough for the Ifes but lost out in the end. Fighting the spiritual head isn't easy. No victor, no vanquished anyway. Omoluabis have moved on on that. As for Oluwo, he's not well groomed as an Oba if indeed he was picked by Ifa. Even a Prince will not behave this way. |
