lilfreezy: we condemn all bro. But you should go to Twitter and see Northerners still CURRENTLY trending #justiceforkano9, they are not paying any attention to the rehab centers. The Anambra case seems to be utmost important to them. There is an ethnic undertone to it. So it was when Ese's case trended. We cried for justice and got it. There's nothing wrong if they seek for justice. A crime is a crime..nothing tribal about this. Anyone stealing a child for whatever reasons deserves to be dealt with. |
Agriculture › Re: Acres Of farmland For Sale At N60,000 Per Acre by delpee(f): 9:01am On Oct 26, 2019 |
Somehow I feel it's better to do long lease, like 20 - 50 years on these lands to avoid stories that touch in future. Outright sale isn't so wise. The current value is very low. There may be regrets and problems with the villagers when it appreciates substantially in future and they have a sense of loss.
I may be wrong though. |

gaskiyamagana: Government in the North need to regulate activities of those traditional correction homes. They have been in existence long before now. You would believe it that some notable northern leaders of today passed through this school, not necessarily as deviant children. Agreed. The earlier that is done the better. Why didn’t they key into the Almajiri schools where they could combine Quranic and Western education to maintain a good balance? In that setting, Guidance Counsellors will have a part to play especially with regards to the deviants who can be referred to child psychologists or rehabilitation centers. |

In the midst of abject poverty!
I saw some devastated Ijebu villages on TVC community forum recently. Just a fraction of the cost of the Rolls Royce will solve most of their immediate problems. I don’t understand why we now place so much value on self and not the community unlike our elders in the past.
Best wishes to him. |

Crime › Re: 15 Rescued From 'Rehab Centre' In Adamawa by delpee(f): 9:41am On Oct 24, 2019 |
It's so disheartening to know that there are so many torture centres in the North. I hope all those being returned to their homes will be monitored by government for their safety.
There are better ways of managing deviant children. Rehabilitation centres with psychiatrists, child psychologists, vocational centres etc will do better. Of course Quranic schools (under government supervision) can be incorporated for Muslims.
The case of the PhD holder is baffling though. That's more like abduction and religious intolerance. He has every right to his choice as an adult. He's probably not even a Christian..at least he didn't say he is. Maybe he's just a passive Muslim which is unacceptable to his people. |

MisterGrace: Idiots and thieves.
3 years ago, I went to a Ministry that was recruiting. I met with the commissioner. Dude asked me who sent me, I replied that no one sent me. He then asked if I had N300,000 to pay to him so he can offer me the job.
I mean, from whence would I get such money as an applicant?
That was how dude sent me out of his office. Not that I wasn't qualified but because I didn't have a politician or money to buy the job.
I just gave up on Nigerian that day. If I have my way, I would have left this country long ago. Very sad! |

By the way, we should all remember that goods can still be imported through our ports and by air. Only land borders are closed. Those who export from Thailand should send directly to our ports instead of channelling through Togo/Benin for smuggling into Nigeria. I don't see why this is too much to ask. |

MelesZenawi: Actually Osibanjo is highly tribalistic even nearly all his aides are over 75% his people and the remaining 25% north.
A man as tribal as this can't lead a nation.
Frankly is Senate president lawan that is less tribal as he draws his aides from all ethnicities. Do you have the staff list for the Vice President's office? Besides I don't think he chose every single person that he works with. |

I listened to an interview of Honorable Peller who said he moved a project that he intended to another community that was happy to receive it without asking for illegal compensation. That really should be the trend going forward. Greedy community leaders, lazy louts and "owo mi da" touts should learn bitter lessons henceforth.
I learnt from a family that relocated from Warri that the town has retrogressed badly because of this attitude. If you make life difficult for those who can develop your area, you'll be full of regrets later. |

When you use money from criminal activities to “settle” God whichever way, you open doors to divine judgment.
I hope the so called traditional ruler is exposed too. His parents should be arrested as accomplices since they knew. That will serve as a lesson to other greedy parents who have no conscience. |
