A Longrich products marketer sent a WhatsApp message to a group in respect of the payment on delivery request. Someone forwarded it to other groups and I got to read it. The marketer almost fell victim but was wary when she heard a male voice in the background and the lady customer insisted that she couldn't come down to meet her at the reception. Luckily for her, she decided to leave. It's beginning to look like something close to Badoo. May God deliver us from heartless beings. |
This is unfair if true. He's a governor for all as he's so dearly loved. He should avoid segregating people on party basis. It's not a wise thing to do in Oyo where people focus more on personalities than parties. |
Very enlightening post. So OBJ and Danjuma were right afterall. Niger State governor was on TV last night complaining that bandits are gradually settling down in his state. Katsina governor has negotiated with bandits, released those arrested so he can get captured indigenes released. One of the victims said there are still many kidnapped villagers in the forest with the bandits. That means we have surrendered to foreign bandits and mortgaged the lives of our people just to accomodate criminals. We're indeed in a big mess! Hopefully the territory seeking warriors don't turn our country into another Somalia in the near future. |
Greatguy! He reminds me of Professor Peller. Hon. Shina Peller can also perform magic like his dad. |
The reality is that there are many Yorubas and Igbos of different categories in SA. I know people there who are in good employment and some are students. Those working as lecturers and medical personnel are comfortable. There are many Nigerians in that category. Those ones may not be coming back now because they live in areas far away from trouble. The area one lives in matters a great deal in SA unlike our mixed development here. The rowdy mob have their limits. They can't cross over into some areas. Our unfortunate brethren who were attacked are mostly self employed people who established their businesses in the midst of SA low income (or no income ) earners who became jealous of hard working Nigerians. |
fyneguy:True. Our local rice is sweeter, fresher and more nutritious. It's healthier than the over processed, chemically preserved ten year old rice that we prefer to import because it's cheaper. |
Olushylay1:Wow! The PTA teachers did a great job in the absence of adequate regular teachers. Most schools were grossly understaffed. The 1000 levy per term and PTA donations were being used to subsidise the payment of those teachers who filled a huge gap. Part of it was also used for maintenance of facilities. Sad to know they've been thrown out unceremoniously. I keep praying for GSM and Oyo State. He needs to put sentiments aside, understand what has transpired in the sector and design a sustainable development plan. Alumni associations have helped a lot in turning many schools around. Schools deteriorated due to lack of support from the government. Some hired extra teachers and trained them to support the PTA and improve the learning process for the children. I hope he's given adequate information to work with. |
BlackAlbinoo:So sure though you didn't witness the event. Why not wait for the outcome of the investigations? |
Lack of patriotism and greed! So disgraceful that a man who should know better got involved in this. |
LilMissFavvy:He explained that he loves her. He was just careless with his tongue and is now remorseful. |
The problem of the North is feudalism. The fact that some people believe that they have superior blood running in their veins. Other "lesser beings" have to be subjugated at all costs. That's the principle that drives the encouragement of the almajiri system which GEJ tried to improve by establishing schools that combine Quranic education with western education. Wondering what happened to those schools... Unfortunately, mass production of children mostly without education and acquired skills is a time bomb for any society. |
The Pharaohs should let our people go. |
This is much better than RUGA which seems focused on the herders alone. |
Charleys:Ignorance! I just finished my ebolo vegetable soup. ![]() Yorubas are highly urbanised and a lot of people have lost solid contact with their roots so they don't know much about the various local soups made by our grandmothers from very nutritious vegetables like amunututu, sokoyokoto, ebolo, efinrin, ewuro and gbure. These vegetables are also herbal remedies for those who know how to use them. All eaten with iyan in the villages. There's also ila alasepo, gbegiri, apon (ogbono) and elegede soups. Ewedu is a wonderful vegetable and herbal medicine. I agree that most young Yorubas don't know much about these veggies and most bukas prepare the cheapest vegetable and egusi or ewedu. |
This is different because it puts the farmers into consideration. Its not just for cattle herders. For states in the South who want to factor in piggeries, I believe it's possible under NLTP. States are allowed to design what suits them. Livestock na livestock abi. |
The governor is only being realistic. The debt burden in some of our states are so huge and may prove unsustainable if things go on like that. |
Great feat! Kudos to him. |
An Egbado princess who was the grandmother of late Mrs Victoria Randle, whose descendants still live in Lagos... The J. K. Randle family. The days of slavery remains a very sad period in our history. Unfortunately, African youths now willingly give themselves up for slavery due to their quest to go abroad. ![]() |
I can only pray for GSM to succeed. He needs to tread carefully though. Is Oyo State rich enough? Is this sustainable without more loans? Are the people willing to pay their taxes to generate more revenue? Of course I love the idea of free education especially for the sake of the poor in our society. It requires a lot of planning...ad hoc measures won't work. The PTAs need to review options with the government to ensure success and sustainability of the project. Also Yorubas say "Oun ti a ko ba sise fun kii tojo, oun ti a ba fi ara sise fun lo npe lowo eni." I think it's wise to sow at least a little into our childrens lives for greater benefits. |
But he's the Minister of Petroleum. He could have prevented the fraud as a seasoned corruption fighter. |
Some of the listed roads are still very bad. The commissioner should visit to verify. |
The owners of the cow are likely to be indigenes though the herders may be Fulani. |
So there are no Yorubas, Edos, Ijaws etc in jail in other parts of the world. Wrong assumption indeed! |
If you're in Lagos, visit the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Alausa for accurate information. Never try to adopt from orphanages without involving government agencies. You could be dealing with baby factories, kidnappers or child traffickers in disguise. Adoption process may sometimes be long and cumbersome but people succeed and are happy with their decision. |
FemiMaduka:His father was from Ogun State. His sister married an Ilorin man hence the affiliation to Ilorin. His father and the current governors dad knew Sarakis dad when they lived in Ivory Coast and he gave the media the full details. Alhaji Abulrazaq was the ambassador there then. The story is available online. |
Absoj:OBJ visited Boko Haram fighters in Maiduguri. Problems have different origins and solutions. |
MTN Nigerias major shareholders are Nigerians. |
She may be there for good reasons. Most likely working behind the scenes in our favor. I don't believe she is there just for dollars or other flimsy reasons people are giving. |
States can also build farm settlements for farmers as was done years ago. The abandoned ones can be resuscitated. Different strokes for different folks. Progress all over in due season if most governors focus on what is best for their environment. |
Every Yoruba man is good abi? No crime takes place in Yorubaland and no Yoruba is in jail? Foolishness of the highest order! |
Very good investigators and journalists. I hope that the Presidency has this valuable information. |
