Is Sharia law the government that will provide those things.

Sharia law will help check the rising rate of crimes in the SW and moral rectitude into the populace.

Every sane yoruba should welcome Sharia.
How has it helped the rate of crime in Zamfara?

Zamfara is liberated from the clamps of blood sucking kleptomaniacs.

Other states with senses should do same.
No noise, no bloodshed, no media name callings, etc.

This is one smart coup against financial terrorists.
Very smart move indeed!

There's no justification for the murder of this woman. The law does not accept retaliatory attacks.

Moreso she was not allowed to leave the house when they wanted to burn the place down. According to her husband, she tried to leave based on their last conversation. It's inexcusable for whatever reason.

Heartless fools indeed!

oyo has had significant changes even without noise making...just last week new police vehicles were bought and was quite different from the ones other governors have been buying. On education he did so well I give kudos to him He is a man of his words
Hope teachers have now been employed. The e-library for textbooks is a good idea. Also the funding of the schools in lieu of the 1000 levy of the last era. However, without teachers, there can’t be any meaningful progress in the education sector.

khalifjgusau:
Several times I said it would take a genius to fix the many challenges in Zamfara state in a span of a term even when, like everyone, I had no knowledge who would take over from the last administration. I was cautious in my claim because I didn’t want to create any excuse for the successor.

We all wanted a leader with the wherewithal to end the senseless killings of innocent citizens that turned Zamfara into an abattoir for nearly a decade. We wanted a leader who would respect the rule of law and accommodate the interests of the citizens. We wanted a leader who would pay civil servants their entitlements; a leader who would reengage the abandoned 1400 employees; a leader who would pity our pensioners; a leader who would revive our youth empowerment programmes; a leader who would ease the citizens’ struggles to meet the challenge of the current inflation.

We all craved for a leader who would provide an environment to chart a way forward with particular focus on governance, health and education in the state. Yes, we all wanted our lost glories restored. The emergence of Matawalle as the Governor of Zamfara State was a relief to the majority of the good people of Zamfara and well-wishers.

It is evident that in the last four months of Matawalle’s administration the tables have begun to turn for good. Security has improved to a reasonable extent – a fact we cannot deny. And with the holistic measures taken, we are hopeful that peace has come to stay within the walls of Zamfara and environ.

Governor Matawalle supports his initiatives on security by distributing two hundred and six (206) vehicles (Hilux) to all the security agencies in the state mainly to improve the capacity of conventional security outfits in crime detection, prevention and general surveillance. Until few months ago when Governor Matawalle provided ambulances to all the general treatment facilities in the state, I cannot recall when last I set my eyes on a functional ambulance in any of our local hospitals.

In addition, there is a significant improvement in the procurement of drugs and other relevant medical equipment as against what used to be the practice when hospitals were not given any attention – even electricity bills were difficult to settle. I spoke with many health personnel in the state before I arrived at this.

Within four months, Matawalle’s administration has revived the Zamfara Fertilizer Company which had been dormant for more than 10 years and this facility now has the capacity to produce 200 tons (about 10 trucks) per day. This effort was in recognition of agriculture as a key branch of the economy of Zamfara state, providing employment opportunities for a large percentage of our teeming youth – farming is our pride. The foreign scholarship scheme(?) – a story for another day.

Matawalle has reengaged about 1400 abandoned employees and they now bask in the ambiance of their salaries. The new administration continues to attend to challenges associated with civil servants – from promotion, promotion arrears, payment of leave grants to payment of gratuity and other entitlements.

We are witnesses to the positive news coming from Zamfara State Universal Basic Education (UBE) Board. The ongoing social intervention programme that supports women with certain amounts of money to start small scale business ideas is a commendable effort. Mens sana in corpore sano – a healthy mind lives in a healthy body.

With these successes (I missed some achievements in this short piece) so far, less than 5 months of assumption, it is malicious to allege that Matawalle’s administration performs below par. It is unfair even to claim that this dministration lacks ‘focus’ or ‘direction’. In the history of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle is the first Governor to appoint a Special Adviser on Strategy and Development.

He is also the first to constitute a standing committee on Strategy and Development to lead the strategic planning process of the state’s Development Plan (in collaboration with the state’s Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning) and to ensure the implementation of ‘sector strategic plan’ and ‘medium-term plan’. This is because he recognises this area as one of his major areas of focus. In the past, like the letter ‘z’, Zamfara was always last in almost all indices of development including quality of life index.

The last I checked, Zamfara is now the most improved state in IGR with +171% ahead of Sokoto, Kebbi, Osun, Ondo, Benue, Niger, Ekiti, Bauchi and Akwa-Ibom states (NBS 2019 Half-Year). I cannot defend the delay in the appointment of Commissioners, but I strongly believe that we have a focused government in place.

Considering the messy system inherited, I don’t expect the new administration to solve all the challenges in less than 5 months.
Impressive!

Hope their children are going to school so they can benefit from scholarships, training and employment that may come as part of the compensation package or CSR by Dangote Refinery.

my fear is the effect of under ground water for residents very close to the refinery.

Yes land sellers tell us that areas around here will experience massive land value rise, but what about living conditions?

There will certainly be Oil leaks, and if it happens

will there be clean water for residents in those estates situated close to this refinery?

Will there be black soots in the atmosphere like it is at PH, coz beyond the rise im land value. nobody is saying anythimg about the living conditions when this project is in full operation and homes are built around.

I believe Real estate investors should study Niger Delta pre and after Oil refinery establishment to be better prepared for what is to come.
This makes a lot of sense. So much marketing going on with regards to estates around there. I keep wondering if it’s a safe/reasonable investment or not.

Lagos traffic in 1978 was normal, same could be found around the world.

But the traffic wahala of Lagos for the past 10 years is the worse in world history, can never be compared with the 1978 scenario
It was a bit bearable subsequently because the State Government resorted to odd and even numbered cars on odd and even working days. I.e Monday, Wednesday and Friday were odd.

Sounds more like damage control. Is the girl suspended/expelled or not? Was she a day student or boarder? Did she have permission to be out of school? Why did her mum have to come back to fight the security personnel when she could have talked to the teachers around about the said play and need for the make up?

yorubas are descendants of oduduwa.

Oduduwa is last son of one igbo man called Ikedi.

Oduduwa mean odudu nwa.which means last born in igbo.

Odudu nwa(oduduwa) committed so many atrocity.
Odudu nwa was very envious, greed and wicked.

He was later banished from his village when he tried to kill all his brothers because he want to inherit all their father's properties.

That was how oduduwa move to the west.
Try comedy, you'll do well. grin

Meanwhile find out more about Odu and Iwa. The meaning of Oduduwa comes from that. His father had a known name which is not an Igbo name...find out more.

As for Reno..I wish him luck in his line of interest. This tale leads nowhere really.

buh yorubas of sw hardly care about what's going on in with their brothers in Kwara and Kogi. I have even seen many yorubas saying because some yorubas are not from sw hence they are not yorubas forgeting sw is just geo-political something hence the word 'Yorubaland'. With this they'd be reminded day in day out, they have brothers in other geo zone.
I've met Kwarans and Kogites who prefer to be identified as Northerners though they're Yorubas. Probably some are of mixed heritage.

Kudos to Aketi and Ondo State on the port proposal. Hope he'll do something about Aiyetoro which seems to be substantially under water now.

All I can see is a man who is not ready to face his responsibilities as a married man. He's still in the spirit of sowing his wild oats while breaking hearts in the process.

@OP
Be a responsible father to your daughter at least. You brought her into the world and she should not suffer. You can choose to build a proper relationship with your wife who appears to like you despite your shortcomings. You're also free to walk away (divorce) if you have no feelings for her. At least she'll be free to move on and possibly find someone who really appreciates her.

On the other hand, you can choose to marry your prophetess girlfriend. Just note that you need to change your lifestyle to make any marriage work. You're currently too deceitful and self centred. It's difficult to manage a home successfully with that attitude.

Igbos; Muslims don't advertise act of charity

Giving Charity in Secret
The Prophet Mohammad said that one of the seven groups of people that will be granted shade on the Day of Judgment includes the one who gives charity but hides it, so that even his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent.

Islam places a great emphasis and reward on giving charity in secret. It preserves the dignity of those who receive the charity, and also prevents the giver from being boastful or seeking praise.

Islam teaches Muslims that giving in secret is far superior to giving publicly, and that drawing attention to one’s charitable actions is a highly undesirable quality. The Prophet said: “Allah loves the God-fearing rich man [who gives much in charity but still] remains obscure and uncelebrated.” (Muslim)

Giving charity in secret is best when giving charity that is voluntary (Sadaqah). Regarding voluntary charity, God says in the second chapter of the Quran:

“If you disclose your Sadaqaat (almsgiving), it is well; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you.” [Quran 2:271]
Actually Christianity expects the same.
