ednut1:Adoption laws are okay. I know people who have adopted kids following due process with LASG. What is important is the ability to prove that you have the best intentions and the wherewithal to take care of the child. It certainly can't be a "walk in to pick" situation otherwise ritualists and other criminally minded people will get involved. |
BuhariAdvocate:There's packaged stone free ofada rice albeit more expensive. |
uzohrome:True. Add Ebony, Mama Pride, Big Bull, Ekiti rice etc A wide variety is available in the market now really. Mostly fresh, well milled and tastes better than the over processed, tasteless and chemically preserved rice we loved so much. |
If it's clear that we are broke and we need so much money, how come building a rail line to Maradi, Niger is of paramount importance to government? Granted, it's in order to build the rail line to Jibia at the border. That serves our people in Katsina. Extending it to Maradi shouldn't be our concern. Why are we making life miserable for our citizens to make life more comfortable for foreigners? Our legislators are truly insensitive to the suffering of the people. |
Confusing story. |
There were many students from South African countries in Federal Colleges and Universities on FG scholarship in those days. They were camped and cared for during summer holidays. Those were glorious years for Nigerians indeed. Solid well thought out and effective external affairs policies. ![]() |
Egun is the language spoken by the Badagry people of Lagos State. |
Chithauri:The syllabus should be reviewed promptly! This is probably the reason why many school leavers are unemployable. The ability to use a computer is considered a basic requirement now. |
The only person who was loved all over Yorubaland was Awolowo basically for his giant strides in development of all sectors. If Tinubu had that much influence, Seyi Makinde won't be the governor of Oyo State today. Akeredolu won without Tinubus support. Kwara voted APC because they wanted Saraki out at all cost. We also know that PDP lost marginally (officially) to APC in Osun. Elections here are not always a true reflection of the people's feelings. |
Why don’t you attend the youth Church where your parents worship or join the youth ministry? Make friends first. A man who truly cares for you will be glad to visit you at home and relate with your parents. |
This is horrible to say the least! Poor oppressed kids. Any child who requires rehabilitation should be taken to the appropriate places duly recognized by the government for control purposes. Psychiatric hospitals, psychologists, social welfare departments, orphanages etc In some cases, the children only need to be reconciled with their parents to be shown love so they can grow up with positive values. |
A married woman arranging to marry someone who has been identified as her relative! The story doesn’t sound like a rape case to me. More like a promiscuous woman whose “business“ venture turned sour. |
Virginnn:Perhaps we should also blame NASS members for reducing the allocation budgeted for roads to suit their selfish interest or whatever reason. |
The man is probably lying about a relationship with her. It's more like a face saving measure to befuddle people's minds. May her soul rest in perfect peace. |
Upworkwriter007:She certainly attained some level of education with a good background and wide experience. She was in UK for her primary education, secondary school in Nigeria and then trained as a secretary and later fashion designer in London. She worked with a Merchant Bank before becoming a full time designer. |
Smartwave:She's from the Ogbara family of Ikorodu, Lagos State. She was appointed Pro Chancellor of the University (or something similar) hence her full commitment. |
Hmmm! Sowing seeds that may affect the South South too. The man who throws stones in the market place forgets that his family members may be affected. ( Yoruba proverb) So we can't have water transportation for instance by Lagos State or the private sector? FG is in charge of canoes and boats plying the waters around Lagos? With this statement and attitude it means Lekki bridge will have been impossible to achieve with this mindset. May Musa Yar'aduas kind soul continue to rest in perfect peace. He made it happen without any sentiments. I'll be glad to have further clarification if I assumed wrongly. |
This just reminds me of the story of the man, his son and a donkey. ...you can't please the world. |
What happens if an Osu marries from another tribe? Sometimes I feel that fear is just being instilled into people to uphold this obnoxious tradition. Those who grow up and live outside these shores won't bother about all these and nothing will happen especially if they're strong believers. Honestly there's no justification for this level of discrimination. We're all created by God and we're expected to love each other. If there's so much discrimination within a tribe, it doesn't make for good cohesion. @OP It seems you have made up your mind. You're better off marrying the love of your life. Unfortunately, you don't appear to be strong enough to withstand the storm that will come with it. May God guide you so that there may be no cause for regrets either way. |
Wondering where Timi got his information from. We should beware of fake news. |
For those who want to buy.. Mama Pride, Big Bull, Ebony are some of the Nigerian milled rice currently available in the market. They're all fresh and nice. This should be a good addition. Our locally produced rice is certainly better than the old chemically preserved rice that we're used to. |
Nothing new! Most children of the politicians in the first Republic attended public schools. I think that was the policy in the old Western Region. |
Tomide007:Thanks |
Tolexander:I read elsewhere that he was once counselled and assisted by the Omega Church at which time he probably took that picture. He derailed again later according to the report and departed from the Church. |
This has been debunked several times! |
deji17:Many of the traders now use POS. Some allow telephone transfers if you're known to them. In any case, it's safer and tidier to carry less cash around especially for security reasons. |
Bunnatex:The reality is that it doesn’t affect the majority of Nigerians. Those who have more than 500,000 cash to lodge are in the minority. They should pay the price if they can’t adjust to electronic transfers. |
seborrhic:Some towers off King George road. I think CNN is looking at it from the perspective of a mix of the old and the new. Note that they mentioned that it’s an area where the past, present and future collide. There’s a lot of history reflected in that axis. TBS, the former State House, National Museum, Onikan Stadium, Muson Centre, former Police Headquarters and the old Colonial Church attached to the State House (Our Saviors Church). The new JK Randle Centre being built will add value to the environment. There’s also City Mall. Further down towards Broad St is the old colonial prison (now Freedom Park). Behind TBS (old Race Course) are the courts, King’s College, the old Defence building and the Independence Arcade. Not too far away is the Lagos City Hall. |
The man is heartless! Sometimes I think such people deserve to be castrated. May they both rot in jail. |
One question I would like answered is who was the money being taken to considering we are operating a cashless economy? For what purpose? I also want to know if the soldiers who conveyed the money have been arrested. |
Nairaland was a good place to rub minds with great minds. Now there are too many trolls, scammers, pornography and tribalists. It’s so sad that it’s now so difficult to have a meaningful intelligent conversation without getting derailed by those who don’t understand the essence of good thoughts. |
Hmm! So this lawyer actually went to law school and passed his exams with this wonderful grammar. Na wa! ![]() |
