No source. Anyway it's a great idea if true. Teachers deserve to be well paid. |
This is beginning to look like ethnic/religious cleansing. A Catholic priest was kidnapped today in Kaduna State. An Anglican priest was killed and his family taken away in Katsina. The silence from the media is deafening! Can those living in these areas please tell us the truth of the matter? It could be a war being foisted on us by foreign fighters which is a dangerous thing for the country. Kajuru is still unsettled too. So sad! Let's hope that this isn't the 'next level'. Scary! |
Originalsly:You're right. @OP Any man in his shoes will have some doubts. He has every right to confirm that the child is his. It's also for your own good considering his family members who are aware of his status may not fully accept the child....that places a dent on your relationship with them which can be stressful. Since you're absolutely sure of your faithfulness, you have no reason to fear. The expected positive result will rather place you on a higher pedestal in the scheme of things. Do what you have to do to secure your relationship more if you love him. There will always be some compromise in a relationship that is being built to last. Best wishes for a safe delivery. |
ElsonMorali:A close relative tried this in addition to hospital treatment. She healed faster and has been cancer free for many years now. |
[quote author=coolxpaul post=7698481 My friend lost his mum @40 2 breast cancer some few years back.It was a protracted illness. My good friend is still trying to pull through[/quote]I lost a friend to breast cancer Different strokes for different folks! May God grant us good health. Amen |
I learnt recently that there's something called CBD oil which is quite good for managing cancer. Maybe more research should be done on this to reduce the effects of chemotherapy. |
majamajic:May God comfort and uphold you and your family as her soul rests in perfect peace. Amen |
By my understanding, the battle over who is the winner of the election continues. |
From the comments here, I can see that those who removed History from the school syllabus created a lot of problems. Ignorance is one! |
biosilicon:They're allowed to operate on particular routes mostly off the major highways. |
May his soul rest in peace. We had fun watching great series on TV those days. ![]() |
He should settle down to understand the challenges in the education sector before taking a decision. The levy is used for school maintenance and to subsidise PTA appointed teachers since all schools are terribly understaffed. I don't see how 1000 per term is too much to pay for a child in school. I got involved through Alumni intervention so I know what I'm saying. The outstanding schools of yesteryears have become shadows of themselves due to overpopulation and paucity of funds. A lot needs to be done to raise the standards. If only he can do what Tinubu did with Lagos schools. ..Return some back to the original owners over a period of time and concentrate state resources on the remaining public schools thereby saving costs for the provision of free education for the truly indigent ones. In the first place, the schools got messed up due to unplanned free education. It was mass education without any consideration for merit. All students moved to the next class irrespective of performance. That marked the beginning of the lowering of standards and lack of commitment of teachers and students. Ajimobi tried hard to improve on the situation even as people resisted. Any hasty decision may not augur well. He should set up committees to look into all key areas or wait for the handover notes. |
NextBuhari:A great intellectual indeed. His satirical write ups were always top notch. May his soul rest in perfect peace. |
IloveToMess:You obviously didn't have the opportunity of studying Nigerian history! Find out who developed Ilupeju, Ikeja and other Industrial estates in Lagos. Everywhere after Yaba and the old Surulere belonged to the Western Region. Lagos Colony was indeed a very small area...thats Eko, Ikoyi and Victoria Island extending to Ebute Meta and some parts of Surulere where they had junior staff quarters. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:She was basically talking to the area boys in the language they understand. They wanted money, she said she won't give except they perform their civic duty (not necessarily by voting for APC). She asked to see their marked fingers as evidence. She was just doing the street wise stuff and catching fun. No big deal. |
The fall of Ajimobi, the 'constituted authority' will be a worthwhile research study for Political Science students. He forgot that our people still respect the traditional stool even if they criticise the Obas and Oloyes. He also got so power drunk and insulted the people at will. In summary, the people are voting out Ajimobi. It doesn't translate to any real or permanent love for PDP. Our people are wise and never mix up issues. Sadly, all his good works have paled into insignificance simply because of his arrogance and rudeness. He will in the course of time still be remembered for bringing peace to Oyo, improvement in waste management (Ibadan) and development of infrastructure that has brought industrial/commercial growth. It's certainly not a good end for him if APC loses. |

Try to understand how and why otoge started in Kwara before trying to do the same in Lagos. The circumstances are so different. Of course we are all free to vote our choices on Saturday otoge or not. |
Tinubu has denied saying this according to TVC news. |
People need to know that all land bought in Lagos is on leasehold with a definite tenure. It's unlike our village family land whose title may reside with the family forever. In the cities especially, the state government reserves the right to revoke certificates of occupancy if necessary. It's wise to develop our towns and villages more. |
erico2k2:There are ways to protect our industries. We can't keep importing to grow other economies while our people remain unemployed and poor. That's how our textile industry which used to be vibrant was killed. Some other nations deliberately make policies to favor the masses, not just a few rich businessmen whose added value only resonates in their pockets with little or no impact on the community. Trailers and containers everywhere, yet, our people are wallowing in poverty. |
To those from Oyo.... I read a post that says Seyi Makindes staff won a case in court against him. According to the report, he's been owing staff salaries and abandoning projects on contract while spending heavily on campaigns. If this is true, Oyo people need to do a rethink in choosing him as governor. Anyway .... Good riddance to 'constituted authority '. In fairness to him though, he brought peace to the state and ended the agbero wars. He also did fairly well in education reform, health, roads and other infrastructure. He encouraged business enterprise too. Unfortunately, he was too arrogant and undiplomatic in his dealings with the people. Quite rude actually. Yourubas don't tolerate arrogant leaders. Baba Akande, Chief Osoba and Aregbesola all lost the support of the people due to that. Sadly Ajimobi didn't learn from history. |
candlewax:The problem is that it could arouse curiosity in minds and those who can't afford to buy the doll will still look for children to satisfy their evil desires. |
Wow! This is heartless! I feel for his parents. May God Almighty comfort and uphold them as his soul rests in perfect peace. I pray that the heartless killers are caught and made to pay for the crime. |
A good initiative! Finally we'll stop spending our hard earned dollars on the importation of toothpick. Wood is available everywhere in Nigeria, yet we've been importing toothpick for centuries. ![]() I hope another governor will wake up to realise that we need a matchstick company in the country. Something that basic is still being imported from India, Sweden, Indonesia etc ![]() Which way Nigeria.....a long way to go! |
NYSC should have publicised this. I pray that she's found alive and well soon. |
chudez0147:You're right but many hearts are hardened. There's so much division in the land now sadly. |
KOLLYPROF:Read through. She's also scared that they could get killed! Naked high tension wires, snakes nearby and the chances that they could run into moving cars in their bid to escape. Besides, children should be taught to ask for what they need. Stealing is not an option. Contentment is key. |
How can anyone shave a man's head in his absence? Lagos indigenes have not come out to say o to ge en masse like it happened in Kwara. They only see this as an afront and an insult. If they choose to have APC in power, so be it. Any forceful change may not have good consequences. Besides, JK has never come out with a well worked out plan on better governance in Lagos. Where was he when Lagos went through hell under PDP? Gbadamosi articulated his plans better than JK who has been appearing every four years. He's a better option but has no grassroots support yet. |
People will believe anything! |
One day, maybe not so soon, we may be forced to go our separate ways. This is so that each area can grow at it's pace, live according to it's culture and relate well with long standing neighbors for peace to reign. The alternative is to appreciate our distinct lifestyles and grow happily together. |
