Men tend to wander in midlife because they easily feel flattered by the often questionable attention that they receive from young ladies. He feels on top of the world and begins to find faults with the one at home just to justify being with the other one. Most times the fake love fades away.
You and your mum need to pray hard and hope for the best. Its good that your mum is independent. She should concentrate more on her work/business so she can stand alone in the event that the lady comes in. I believe that shes working quietly to save her home anyway. I pray that the lady is not one of those that have evil intentions though. May God grant you all peace and touch your dads heart to see clearly and not fall into a trap.
Family › Re: Ow Do I Deal With My Mum N Uncle? Should I Tell On Them Or Let Go? by delpee(f): 10:25pm On Nov 23, 2013
Sad story! Try talking it over with your mum nicely. Bitterness and an unforgiving heart brews trouble and sorrow. AVOID IT! You are sounding so traumatised already. Unburden your heart but show understanding whichever way you can and remind her that you never told your dad but just want to clear your mind and move on. No point involving your uncle if you want peace.

Alternatively, if you are spiritually strong, talk to God, forgive and move on so you can key into your blessings with a clean and open heart. You need peace in your heart to make meaningful progress.
Education › Re: Please I Need Financial Assistance Concerning My Education by delpee(f): 10:09pm On Nov 23, 2013
I know someone who does housecleaning jobs on saturdays in addition to her office assistant job to sponsor herself in the university. Due to her enterprising nature, those she works for gladly help her pay up any outstanding balance on her fees. Her church also paid part of her first fees to ensure that she gained admission. She was lucky with free education and nice teachers up to 'O' Levels. BTW shes 18, motherless with an irresponsible father who has never played a meaningful part in her life. She lived with friends until recently when she got a place of her own for easier accessibility to her office.

You are better off with a sustainable source rather than this online request. You cant come online every semester/session to ask for assistance.

Really wish I can help but I have a few people like you that I'm supporting. God will surely bring an angel your way. Meanwhile look for a part time job/vocation you can do to provide some basic income. You will succeed by Gods grace.
Family › Re: How Can I Claim My Late Fathers Unclaimed Dividends ? by delpee(f): 9:50pm On Nov 19, 2013
Contact a lawyer for Letter of Administration. It takes time and can be expensive if its not a family lawyer or friend who wishes to go out of his/her way to help. If your dad had a written will, your work is easier.
Investment › Re: Why Young People Should Invest In Shares by delpee(f): 8:50pm On Nov 19, 2013
Past substantial gains on GTB, FBN, NESTLE, FLOUR MILLS, CADBURY, UAC, WAPCO etc
Rising recently CONOIL, GLAXO, FORTE OIL, TRANSCORP etc
The key is in knowing when to go in (BUY), watch and wait (HOLD) and step out (SELL).
The point is that i started young and have no regrets even with the meltdown/crash. Its more of a long term investment with its booms and busts. It usually pays off on the aggregate in the long run.
However, balance your portfolio by investing in real estate, life insurance, money market instruments and profitable businesses.
START YOUNG TO BE HAPPIER AND LESS STRESSED IN OLD AGE.

IMO they are using it to send the Naija owned cheaper cable tv operators packing. Unfair competition really.

Romance › Re: Caught In The Middle (tight Corner) by delpee(f): 9:46pm On Nov 12, 2013
If this is true, complain to a Human Rights organisation. We have seen cases of lecturers who were set up and caught. Also some lecturers were sacked in a university recently though i cant remember the name of the institution. Not all universities have absolutely lawless lecturers teaming up to humiliate their students and getting away with it.

Be sure to read and pass on your own. I don't understand this modern day hiring of people to write exams for lazy students. Probably the reason one comes across many "empty" job seekers at interviews. God help us.

Why is the Nigerian Embassy helpless in this matter? Afterall he is not an illegal resident which usually serves as an excuse to turn a blind eye. Abike Dabiri should please intervene in this case and the GOA case. We deserve some respect wherever we choose to live (though we must always strive to be of good behavior.)
Properties › Re: Building My 3 Bedroom Bungalow (the Apocalypse) by delpee(f): 10:59pm On Nov 06, 2013
Just seeing this and I am really impressed. I always advise younger people to rent wisely and have a time frame within which they should own their own homes. Those who rent 2mill p.a flats can now see that they will build faster if they get a cheaper place to stay. Ladies can also learn how many blocks/bags of cement they can buy from their brazilian hair and italian designer bag budget.
Well done guys! More grease to your elbows.

Romance › Re: The Right Time To Ask My Boyfriend For Rent Money? by delpee(f): 8:48pm On Nov 01, 2013
@poster
You need to be sure of the kind of guy you are dating and if you are ready to be with him for a while. If he pays your rent and you leave him shortly after, he may feel used and dumped. Not everyone forgives easily, remember! Its different if you are married, its his responsibility to provide shelter then.

Frankly, I have never liked being so dependent on anyone, no special reason and I am not pontificating. I just believe a human being earns more respect when he/she learns to face up to life's battles without always looking out for someone to lean on. We need each other truly but over dependence can be destructive.

Put in another way, suppose the guy is unable to pay due to some adversity or more pressing needs, will you leave him? The best option is to maintain a standard of living that you can maintain come rain or shine (barring extreme unforeseen circumstances). I am not being pessimistic and i certainly wish you the very best but I have had to counsel some young divorces and widows. The bottom line is that usually they had adjusted to standards of life that they had no idea/plan of how to sustain.

A man who can not provide for his wife is worse than an infidel according to the holy books but then, if you are a christian, read Proverbs 31:10-31 for a balanced view. I wish you the very best.

Have you ever given her reason to distrust you or cheated on her? Some women become fearful under such conditions and choose to quietly work out a plan B which many people will encourage. If no such thing happened, I empathize with you but advise you to be calm and calculating. Hasty decisions can lead to lifetime regret. Remember that you loved your wife before this happened. Meanwhile, she needs to do away with bad friends, the priest and tactically keep her mum at arms length for now.
I pray for Gods wisdom.

Maybe she tried but someone should do something about the leaking roof at MMIA waiting lounge. Its so embarrassing when it rains.
The car park should also be fixed or the planned multi level car park should be completed.
Politics › Re: The Nigeria I Met by delpee(f): 9:16pm On Oct 28, 2013
Leaving money for fruits/snacks bought by the road side is something i am aware of though very young then. You just see a tray of goods with coins dropped for the owner of the goods who is not there.
I remember that it was a standing rule to get up for older people and pregnant women in the bus {todays equivalent being the BRT). Sounds weird today abi? I pray that we can re establish the "Omoluabi" way of doing things. The culture and the traditional way of doing things made life easier and a lot more fun filled. Instilling discipline was a collective responsibility of society, so it was difficult to become wayward. Anyone seeing you misbehave or seeing you at the wrong place at the wrong time could discipline you and inform your parents later.

Some of us crave for the old days when there was greater harmony, love, better security and trust. So much hatred, bitterness, fraudulent behavior and consequent insecurity these days jare. Life is soooooo much harder for the young ones now though they have more variety/options.

We hope for better days.

Apart from the narrow bridge, traffic control at the Asaba and Onitsha ends of the bridge isnt good enough. I spent over four hours there last April. Someone in the vehicle couldnt help wishing for Lastma warts and all. Frustrating experience indeed!

Why cant permission be taken from GEJ by the Delta and SE governors the same way BRF did from Yaradua in respect of the Lekki -Ikoyi bridge and the Badagry expressway? Even Ikorodu Rd is a federal road yet Lagos State has always worked on it since the Marwa era.
