selfemployed: Germany opted out because there's no plan to finance the project.
But look at the money they've wasted on railways.
We have been surviving without railways. Exactly. There are things that should be solved first and it will make other "problems" disappear. According to the Pareto Principle, also known as the 80-20 rule of thumb. 20% of the causes is responsible for 80% of the outcomes. It is not a linear relationship. There are single solutions that have the capacity of solving multiple problems. That's what we should focus on, and without any iota of doubt power is one of such things. Another instance, the growing insecurity in the country is because of the failing economy and the high rise of unemployment. And no wonder there is rising levels of insecurity throughout this administration. There is no amount of policing and security measures that can solve it. Only improving the economy will. |

I've always found that statement to be grossly untrue. I'll rather take my chances with uncertain outcome than to condemn myself to a determined evil fate.

Umahi is deluded.
The same delusion that made him go join APC because he thought they will zone their ticket to the SE. He was out of touch with reality, cos if he did, he would have known that Tinubu was a force to reckon with.
And how did he even think that if the ticket was zoned to the SE, that his state man Ogbonnaya Onu would not have been the favorite to clinch it. |

Buhari contested election for 4 times before he won. All his previous "wasted votes" was the only thing that kept him pushing till he eventually won against a sitting president. |

APC by picking a Southern Muslim as their flagbearer just entered a serious dillema.
Pick a Northern Christian and have Atiku sweep all the North in a landslide.
Or pick a Northern Muslim and have the theme of the 2023 election be about RELIGION.
Nigerian elections has always been about ethno-religious sentiments, but a Muslim/Muslim ticket will further highlight that, and would do them disservice in the Christian dominated South.
The Northerner APC governors had a reason for pushing for APC zoning to the South, they wanted to position themselves for the next elections after 2023 but they picked the wrong person; a Southern Muslim but they didn't have any choice either way, cos Tinubu is a political force. |

3ple9iner: Same thing I try to explain to people. Borrowing is not bad as the way people portray it. What you do with the loan is the next step. Sadly, in Nigeria, loans are looted across board. But if Nigeria can take loans and target the 20% causes that would yield 80% outcomes (Pareto principle) Then it will be money well spent. The only person who could have thought along those lines was Umaru Musa Yaradua but he didn't live long enough to realize that dream. |

Oshodipikin: You even tried to build bridges... But they call you names like Okoroawusa, Yoruba slave etc.
Tambuwa & Mohammed Hayatu-Deen stepped down for their brother Alhaji Atiku Abubakar during PDP primary. The likes of Kayode Fayemi, Dimeji Bankole, Ibikunle Amosun, Ajayi Borroface were able to Canvas Akpabio, Uju Ohaneye and Badaru to let their brother have the ticket. I remember Badaru even said Tinubu once gave him his AC platform to contest when he was nobody, although he lost that contest then. Who is speaking for Ndigbo? Pius Anyim, Peter Obi, Chief Sam Ohunabunwa, Charles Okwudili, Chikwendu Kalu, Cosmas Ndukwe, and a US-based medical doctor, Nwachukwu Anakwenze couldn't find one suitable person to represent South East until Peter Obi pulled out to find succour else in LP. There is crisis brewing in that party also now because Peter Obi and another Igbo man have emerged from parallel primaries of the two factions of LP. I don't think South South or South West are the problem of Ndigbo. Ndigbo themselves are the problem of Ndigbo. Another South South person will rule Nigeria before the Igbos realise that your closest allies ever are your neighbours. You can't be true friends to outsider if your home front is always on fire because of internal acrimonies birthed by self- centeredness. Until you marry the Ijaws, Urhobos, Yoruba, Edos, your dream of Aso Rock will remain a pipe dream or something like a man who dreamt and see himself riding ferrari, only to wake and find himself on top of palm tree. AD, AC, ACN was a regional party like APGA, but because someone is thinking 24/7, it has been transformed and married with other parties outside of southern Nigeria to clinch the Presidency. Hate them or like them, Atikunubu woul be your president for the next 8 years. When is the turn of the South-East? I am sure Ojukwu is scratching his head right now. I suppose the Igbo red cap is a thinking cap! You must think you sound so smart, hence copying and posting this in every political thread. |

Hypocrite. I'm not even a Muslim dude. But CAN should realize saying things like this doesn't change anything and wouldn't influence APC's decision. The truth is that if APC doesn't field a Muslim as VP, they may never even come close to being runner up in the next year elections. So it is in their best interest to field a Muslim/Muslim ticket and funny enough Tinubu doesn't see anything wrong with that, considering he wanted to run as Buhari's vice in 2015. All CAN can do is ask their members to boycott the APC if they field a Muslim/Muslim ticket. |

alsudan: The Obi Effect.
The SE has joined the party and have decided to take their destiny into their hands.
With 90% votes from the SE, 70% from the SS, 50% from the NC, 35% from the SW, 25% from the NW & NE, Peter Obi will 100 percent be sworn in as President of the FRN next year.
It’s possible, let’s make it happen and take back our country from the vultures in APC and PDP. If he gets 90% in the SE and 70% from the SS, he at least will ensure that if he doesn't win outrightly that the person with the majority votes cannot win either thus necessitating a rerun between the person with the most votes and the runner up. |
Politics › Re: Desperation Must Not Make You Forfeit Your Right - Aisha Yesufu Speaks On Obi by dochenaj: 10:16pm On Jun 10, 2022 |
Tingotoe: Peter Obi cannot win the presidency next year. He's in a party that lacks structure and finance and also his popularity ends in his home region the south east. I wonder how his party is going to convince millions of the illiterate electorate up north to abandon Atiku and vote for him. I also want to see how he plans on getting the SW voters to jump on his bandwagon. Sorry but DOA 2023 maybe some other time sha Peter Obi needs to identify who his voters are and reach out to them. Yes, does he have people in the North, non-Easterners who might be open to voting for him? Yes he does. And he needs to find them and ensure that they go out and vote. When we say "structures" it is always ambiguous and your definition of structures might be different from mine. For me structures are people who will be able to reach out to the electorates on a grassroots level and convince them to vote for you. With the evolution of the internet, "structures" has become very fluid. Of course he will need people that will defend votes cast for him and be vocal about any manipulation that will go on in the polling stations, in a country where rigging is the only way to win. |

If a Muslim/Muslim ticket is guaranteed to transform Nigeria for the better, I wouldn't want it any different.
But we know that's not a guarantee.

I have always believed strongly that Tinubu asked Osibanjo to contest so he can step down for him at the last minute. It would be a very perfect plot.
