Husu, do your homework! If you like FBN, buy, if you no like, no buy. Until you have solid reasons to question someone's character, play nice. You only know Wanaj0 holds major FBN because he told you so. He didn't have to.

Most analysts I see in the US state if they own a stock or not. Up to the customer to decide if the "guru" is being honest. This obviously excludes Wanaj0 since he owns 40 stocks!  

I'm not accusing anyone o! But if this thread really moves the market (and I'm pretty sure it moves the samller coys), could it not be open to "pump and dump". My message is to always do your homework regardless how how much respect or trust you have in a "guru". After all, this is a faceless forum.

There is no gist. Some people on nairaland decided it was a stock to watch. Then, lo and behold, the stock took off. There are some market shakers in our midst. IT is a fundamentally sound stock. If you are interested, go ahead.

In the spirit of Nairaland collaboration. Here is file 2 in the Easimoni series. The analysis tab has a coumn to the left that lins you straight to the NSE webpage for the stock you select. There are comments throughtout the file to guide you. You need the FSDH daily update to keep up with the price and trailing PE coulmns.

File 3 will be released in a week or so.

BTW, did anyone notice that the Zenith prospectus NEVER mentions PE ratio at offer price? Instead they use "earnings yield at offer price" Sneaky! Note that earnings yield (Zenith's is 4.9% at the offer price) is the inverse of PE; that gives us a forward PE of 20.4 @ the offer price and 24 at the market price. It 50% more expensive than the FCMB, Fidelity and PHB offers. I guess there's a premium to be paid for ownership in the #2 coy on the NSE (or is it for the "Ovia" name? ).

Let me throw this to the house. I need help here. I am attaching 3 years interim results (Thanks bro). The Q-1 for 2006 is missing.

Please project PAT for full year 2007 based on the interim results for 2007 and the pattern from 2005 and 2006. I am beginning to think the 460M I have projected is too conservative.

The results are funky: over the last 7 Qs, they've been making ~100M per Q and in the 3rd Q of the current  year, they make 200M despite a DROP in revenue. The % increase over the same period last year was not impressive because they restated the 9 mnth 06 as 355 when it was 298. If we think they still make 100M per Q, the FY will be ~510. If they make 200M per Q from this point forward, FY will be closer to 610

On GTBank,the PE i have is above 21.any chance they might surpass their projected PAT?Anybody knows which quarter thay make a chunk of their money?

GTB made 45% and 43% of their PAT in the 4th Q for the last 2 fiscal years. Not much chance they beat 20B. As Fatherof2 said, no point buying till Feb.

I decided to build my own (after all, they are nothing but glorified designer spreadsheets) but oga Wanaj0 unleashed a killer amount of data and I've been too buy drooling to start work on the technical aspect of my spreadsheet. It looks like we (nairalanders) have no choice but to build ours since no broker/analyst/website/programmer has released a useful working version. I'll prob have mine done in a week.

Wendy was quoting a proshare article. It was also CSMAs. Not much required to calculate those.
