Why can't they just arrest him and let the country rest. If I had 1 billion naira cash in my house, they would have come to ask we where I got the money. Why not do the right thing instead of wasting money to print new notes?

President Buhari has declared 500 and 1000 illegal and that decision stands!!!.

It's very unfortunate that there is nothing state governors can do about it, they will only succeed in deceiving their followers ..

Those governors who are daring Buhari will end up complicating issues for their citizens, putting the citizens to more pains and agony, thereby making them to hate APC more..

All Banks across the Nation are working with CBN, and follow instructions from Emefele..

So after telling your citizens to use the old notes , where would they deposit the money at the end of the day, the same bank that is under CBN that is currently rejecting old notes?

No wahala, he should create central bank of Jigawa then, but a wise business man can never engage in that kind of business suicide..

Only uninformed idiots who will still turn around and rebel against the same governor tomorrow can be deceived with such lies

Urchings should also move to Kaduna and Jigawa too.. grin grin grin grin

They all just want to ensure people collect the old notes from them come Feb 25th. I believe it's states due for governorship elections this month and next month that are making all these noise.

It's funny and annoying at the same time when you guys say someone supported a policy and he shouldn't complain. This is a good policy. The implementation is the problem. Let's stop talking like kids because of political affiliations.

Whether Atiku, Obi or Tinubu, whomever emerges as president will create a window for people to return their old notes. No sane president will ask you to go and throw your money away. Your money will only be tied down till then. Knowing this, I still don't give or take old notes. I can't come and be giving myself unnecessary anxiety.

Mariah Carey: Always be my baby

Verse 1]
We were as one, babe
For a moment in time
And it seemed everlasting
That you would always be mine
Now you want to be free
So I'll let you fly
'Cause I know in my heart, babe
Our love will never die, no

[Chorus]
You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me?
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

My solace is that there is no perfect plan. We only project and prepare. There is no infallible plan. If Hitler can fall, then any gathering, projection, manipulation, gimmick, game plan or agenda can work against the perpetrators. Hitler is a testament that evil can persist for a while but it cannot last for long or forever. Nigeria must work because I am not japaing anywhere.

This is a lie. I can confirm this as I also run a POS business. I know it has happened in some places where one or two persons possess multiple ATM but this is not how POS get their cash. Stop spreading lies. POS get their money from the black market. Infact many POS are currently out of business as we speak. In most areas where you used to have 7 or 12 POS operators you now find out only one or two are operating and in some instances none. How many POS operators you think have that time to start using multiple ATM to queue in the bank? You think that is the only business most operates? When you buy 100k for 15k , how do you expect them to break even? I pray the Edo State task force is effective so you guys will understand what hardship is all about.

Some Banks have one of their security men stand by the ATM to make sure you don't use more than one ATM card. A friend had to go to the ATM with her son for her to be able to withdraw 40k, 20k each.

Thanks for this.

We are already hoarding and selling the new notes. I never heard about the loss on MoMo. Really surprised Kenya is already cashless.

Lives lost to get the new notes in India!!!!!!! That's too much. Seems them were panicking because of the 2 months notice. The loss of jobs is my biggest fear. POS operators are the first to be hit now, other jobs will follow.

Business / A Layman's View On The New Naira Notes by egopersonified(f): 5:17am On Jan 29, 2023
First off, the main purpose of this change in naira notes is to go cashless. The government with the help of the media is just forcing hoarding of cash, especially by politians, down our throats because they know the masses hate Nigerian politicians. Same way Shaibu was saying land use charge in Edo is only for the rich in GRA. It will all trickle down to the masses.

The issue is not even the date. Be it 31st January or June 30th, we are going cashless. They might be using it as a propaganda against some politicians but it's not really about them. It's about technological advancement and record breaking profits for the banks. Please calculate N50 transfer charge by 50 million people a day. That's N2.5billion a day.

This would follow mass layoff of bank staff. In the Zenith bank I use frequently, there are four tellers downstairs and four tellers in the bulk room, making a total of 8 tellers for cash and cheques. What would then be the need for a bulk room when there is no bulk cash? What about the millions of jobs created by POS terminals? Those will all shut down too.

The major advantage I can see in this whole issue is the lack of cash to pay ransom to kidnappers. As their bank details will expose them. But what if they all start insisting on being paid in dollars?

Every policy has it's advantages and disadvantages. We will never be ready for technological advancement, sometimes we just have to push ourselves into it and see how it pans out.

Please share your views.

What we don't see yet is the job loss waiting to hit the banking sector as we go cashless. What would be the need for bulk rooms in the bank when there is no bulk cash to pay? This is why all bank MDs and directors are in full support. They will receive N50 for every amount you receive and between N25 to N55 for every amount you send. More money, less salaries.

They are just using our hate for politicians against us and spreading news of policitians hoarding cash. This might be true, but the main purpose of this exercise is to go cashless.

My heart goes out especially to all bankers, begin to work on plan B now.

I am just racking my brain on how to tap into the tech hub.

how will pos get new notes to run business when banks are still paying old notes

By now you suppose understand that our govt tries to frustrate it's citizens with all their policies. We have to run around and look for alternatives to cushion the effect of our oppressions aka Nigerian politicians. I believe the only option now is mobile, ATM and pos transfer. I don't think cash app, Venmo and paypal works in Nigeria but there will be others. The annoying thing for me is that you will be debited N50 stamp duty for every money you receive and N4 for every alert. Then when you send money, you will be debited between N26 to N54 for transfer fees and N4 to N8 for alert. This might look small but multiple that by at least 50 million people per day.

Tell me how do we address that?

Today is Thursday n bank is still giving out old notes n officially tomorrow is Friday which marks the official end of d week

So how do these people expect us to cope

Imagine wanting to buy car parts from all those illiterates dealers n they say they don’t want old note m bank is still paying old note

N u need over 500k….note atm can only give u 20k per day

How do u do it?

Transfer

If you can't transfer, give your ATM to pos, they send it to their account
