He exude too much confidence and you know what that trait can do to someone when you feel you can do just ANYTHING and always in control. Watch their videos, watch his numerous facebook post etc and you will know what I am talking about. Then wahala dey bi that especially if his wife is quiet.. God will see them through |

sleekymag: Administrators are not necessarily technical experts but more often than not they have experience in that chosen field they're drafted into. Fashola's experience with IPP projects while he was governor is very limited to be considered for a position as the minister of power, not to talk of housing and works. The time he'll take to deliver would be longer(if he has good people working with him, and not sabotaged), he can easily be sold dummies, or bamboozled, or worse still trust less cos he's unsure of facts he's been presented with, and hence, reduce operational efficiency that ought to be possible. However, he's a man that I think would mean well. Nigeria has more competent people by the way. I understand your position perfectly. Fashola in my opinion is trying to reduce the gap in his limited knowledge so as not to get bamboozled anyhow as you rightly pointed out hence the tour of the facilities under his purview. There might be an initial drag but i expect things to pick up later on if he doesn't get sabotaged. I for one want to know the root cause of our epileptic power supply My initial post was for people that turn every issue into emotional or tribal or political warfare. |

With some of the comments that i am seeing above, i can see why most of our youths are not employable or work for people that exploit them mercilessly or run down their businesses.
You all need to know that administrators are not necessarily technical expert(s) in a field though he or she is allowed to know enough in order to be able to make decisions or contribute to discussions that will add values to the bottom-line. |

jaymichael: Ya, Lagos state has IPP plants that generates electricity that powers the secretariat, Street lights of the major highways and some public buildings, with plan to power all state hospitals, roads, schools and all public buildings in the state (within the limits permitted by law). they are gas powered and initiated by the BRF administration. By Nigerian law, only the FG can generate power for commercial distribution. States and private individuals can generate private piwers within a limited threshold which Lagos state had complied with. Generating above that threshold means you have to send the excess power to the national grid before commercial distribution which isn't favourable to the states and potential private power generators (investors) Try to google or research Lagos state INDEPENDENT POWER PROJECT to learn more. Thanks for that.. Some people just open their mouth anyhow without doing basic research! Fashola even mentioned the IPP during his session with NA when he was a minister-designate |

Scholes007: thank you for the good presentation of abia state, a state that is always viewed by people as backward and failed state. Anyway did you visit my LGA(isuikwuato) and my home town uturu. Its really good to get a first hand experience(s) of places in Nigeria before judging everybody within that location because some few people had negative experience(s). Abia state & Abians need to come out more and show-case the good in their land else people will always judge based on the few uncouth people on Social media. The same thing is applicable to other states. Personally, I will add more eastern states to list of places to visit (I have been to Onitsha in Anambra... Cool experience) |

Nixon55: Is it that they no longer teach reading and comprehension in Nigerian schools or just that the students outrighlty refuse to learn. The article clearly stated that the Black Rhino group is investing in three power related projects. 1. Solar plant in Kano (100mw) 2. Coal power plant in South East (1000mw) 3. Gas pipe line from Akwa Ibom to Lagos and onwards to Ghana.
Is this hard to comprehend? What's the fuss about Akwa Ibom being in South East or South South? Nigerian masses being their own enemies... and they will scream marginalization again or Dangote does not have investments in the SE region blah blah. Somebody is coming with his money to invest ( as private individuals) and some people are already hounding him.. If perchance he invests elsewhere, serious talk again...na wa for our youths o! |

I have a boss that is into Aba-made things and strangely, the quality of the products are of good grade. I don't know why how people will abandon good stuff because they want to belong to the group of people wearing foreign products. I don't care about the labels on most of the thing i wear inasmuch it fits.
I for one use made in naija shoes though it was made here in Lagos.
For the Aba shoe-makers and other Aba entrepreneurs: this is the time to bring your goods so that people that are not based in the East can see and be able to access the products.. i for example, will not have the time to go to Aba to look for wears or other quality products that are probably cheaper than the foreign counterparts because of my busy schedule(s). |
