daneni1:I'm not sure you do sir. |
daneni1:I'm an ICAN Prize winner, The secret of success is in your mind and the reason you registered in the first place. Endeavour to study at your best time of assimilation as you know yourself better. All the best. |
Acidosis:I will most definitely baby boo. |
Acidosis:No sir as the decision will be based on money that's ephemeral. Saying yes is based on things beyond money even if we can't deemphasize the importance of money. |
Acidosis:The list is not expensive as we're modest in my family but we give room for negotiation and our dowry is very minimal. |
Acidosis:It's not possible as the families are meeting this weekend to negotiate the list. |
Acidosis:Is it too far? ![]() |
Acidosis:Go to Mbak-Atai in Itam under Itu local government in Akwa-Ibom state, it's not far from the river that separates Akwa-Ibom from Calabar. Ask of Major E*****g, he's the head of my family but unfortunately the list has been delivered to someone. ![]() |
Acidosis:As long as there's water, no squatter/guest and the basic necessities to make it comfortable and I'll be able to read my books, we're good to go. |
Acidosis:Okay baby boo ![]() |
HorlaBee27:Dear OP, it's a good thing to desire a comfortable space for a family but your concerns are valid but how you put it across to him matters as he's the one paying. I dont think it's bad to move from a 2 bedroom to 3 bedroom as you both grow in size and income. A successfully married friend of mine told me that effective family growth can only be achieved when the couple avoid interference of any kind but we know in African families, dependants is an epidemic norm that ought not to be. I don't see it ideal to have people staying with you immediately you guys get married as you're getting to know each other as a live in couple and there'll be less pressure around the house till the children start coming. How has he been financing his rent (conveniently or stressfully)? Yes we have faith but wisdom is profitable to direct as Luke 14:28 says For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? |
nahzyla:What if he doesn't live long enough till they become independent, he remains an option and never gets the best of his wife because of kids and vice versa. Madam my aunt retired from Total ng, she and hubby gave her children the best, made sacrifices...... today she can't walk well and the kids are doing very well to send her to India and the likes for a surgery but none has deemed it fit despite the abundance of resources. The house she stays in her husband's village wasn't renovated to befit her status. It's her and her husband now but her health has dwindled for him to get the best of her. I'm beginning to think if a poll is carried out where people talk of their fulfilment in their marriages but anonymously, I'm not sure to read/hear good commentaries based on the me and my kids syndrome epidemic. |
nahzyla:Applicable to both but it depends on the level of discipline of the individual. |
What's the guarantee that those kids would live up to your expectations in the future? What's then the essence of marriage if kids are the most important feature of which you can still get them without the institution? You wrote this because you are lucky to be fruitful. What if there was delay in conception that goes as far as 15 years, what'll be the priority of the marriage in the waiting period? What if you lose the kids like my mum lost her only son at birth and was lucky to be fertile to conceive more? What if...... I think in an attempt by women to be careful in the homefront in the name of safeguarding their children's future, they get it wrong or they never loved the man but just want to procreate and be like their mates. A man knowing he's not a priority in the home is enough to be distracted by the one that makes him a priority outside. I read a novel years back where the author opined that if wives behaved like mistresses, there'll less marital failure. I listened to a show on radio when a regular caller said his wife was too good for him to move on after over 5 years of her demise. I hope women with these mentality will realign their thoughts of the institution of marriage to build a great home that can serve as a positive point of reference for upcomers. |

luvyaself95:Same to you. |

luvyaself95: Likewise you. Thanks |
Austineva:You have a point there about repercussions. I hope the ladies step up their game and be contented with what they have or work harder to earn respect from the male folks as gone are the days of men being fooled except those that refuse to be wise. |
Omoluabi9:Amen. I'm hour glass but on the very slender side and underweight in summary I'm SKINNY. I'm neither dark nor fair. Don't get drunk on your Martini |
How much? |
I wonder how some ladies feel entitled to a man's money. Just as my boss confided in me yesterday of a lady he's interested in and she turned him down but still accuses him of not showing her care and went as far as demanding for him to support her to further her education. I was appalled as I can't imagine myself stooping low to take advantage of men. What's the essence of working as a female? I'll be a mother to sons one day and will be pained when women take advantage of them but I'll train them to set high standards in dating game. I'm accused of being strange as I'm usually told if I have your body type, being a calabar babe.... I would have gone far and I'll start asking myself if I'm normal but I know there's dignity in labour for both sexes so I prefer to work to meet my needs and wants. |
mysticwarrior:My ex |
I find them amazing and hold them in high esteem. My friend used to ask what'll I'll eat for him to prepare when he invites me over. |
nwanneni:You're not far from the truth at bolded. Some of us saw our mothers do it to our fathers and imbibe the habit. Even when the men make up for their poor finance by being useful around the home, some women being insatiable, never appreciate the effort because he was made to be the breadwinner and must live up to the expectations if he wants to be respected. I think it takes a prudent wife to be understanding in trying times with her man but then how many wives are prudent? |
Please what's the durability of the shirt as I want to know if it's good for a concert? |
