Romance › Re: Dear Alpha Males! by Esthered: 7:53am On Oct 07, 2019 |
Dear OP, I feel pity for you and you're still making excuses for the woman. You brought this upon yourself because of the material gains you were pursuing and needed a wife to secure. You've lost a car, about to lose a shopping plaza and next may be your life. It was more of a business contract than a love union. Beyond religion, you married a selfish woman. You ought to know a woman before proposing marriage, no due diligence, knowing her past and her potentials. Do you have siblings at all? You seem to be someone that fails to listen to counsel because you think you know it all. I'm sure your late mum may not be resting in that grave. You're trying to sound just but you're sitting on a time bomb that may cost you your sanity and life in the short run. |

Richdad50:
I have a relative who has been married for the past 21 years with no child. I recently visited them and the quietness in the house has taken away their joy and happiness.
For those who desire a child in their union, I pray the Lord to give you seeds and wipe the tears of you both.
Richdad Why aren't they open to adoption than wait that long? |

He asked for advice from the married folks here but the comments so far are predominantly from single men and most of them seem bitter in their advice. Dear OP, as your heart leaps for joy, get to know her and see if you're on the same page as some were kind enough to advise. Pray also if you believe in prayer and my bible says WATCH (Due Diligence) which must go hand in hand with prayer. All the best sir. |

bayulll011: God will not allow me to marry any woman that sees my money is our money, but her money is her money that is completely selfish and irresponsible. My money is our money same with her money. people cannot identify Red flags in relationship still shameful don't be clouded with love that can perish with any obstacles Thay abound and the man can change or improve the mentality if he's not fine with it. If she ticks all the boxes except that, will you leave her for the one that may be putting up a show to secure your ring? If it were my brother that confided in me, I'll tell him to see how he can help influence her views on money in relationship and if it's to no avail and dangerous for the journey ahead, he can pull out. |

pocohantas: I don't know where everyone is telling the OP to run to. I thought I always read here that Nigerian women are wired like that- to be fully dependent on men irrespective of their earnings.
So, where exactly is he running to? To another dependent Nigerian woman? Or a foreigner?
Biko marry her. Isn't she submissive, homely and non-feminist? I think some guys on this forum use their bad experiences to generalize that women are dependent creatures by default but in their houses, their mums were the breadwinners when their dads were unable but they'll never admit it. |

Romance › Re: My Fiancée Works But She Prefers I Pay Her Bills by Esthered: 8:46am On Sep 30, 2019 |
How can you engage an empowered woman with an entitlement mentality? She ought to be your partner and not impose her bills on you and if you weren't in her life, won't the rent be paid. Have you tried talking to her about it and how you're financially stressed? Does she truly work and earn as she claims? Some of us believe that his money is ours and mine is mine but when my baby needs support, I make sure he doesn't lose sleep before I render help as a woman was created as a help meet. If she poses other good qualities, raise your concern now and seek for improvement if she's willing to learn. If you go on without improvement, you'll age quickly, fall ill in your later years because you were bearing the burden of your woman, children and her family. This is why women outlive men sometimes. I'll like to grow old with my man. All the best in your decision making. |

chidaddy1198: lies. If you are ready to wed let me know I will tell you how to achieve this with your 3 months salary even thou its just minimum wage you or I earn. When you're marrying a first daughter, B.sc holder, chartered accountant.... my mum tells you the family is highly revered and no parlour wedding for trad, and her parents are popular in their local church..... it depends on the family but no 2 isn't realistic. My bride price on my list alone is multiple times of the minimum wage |

baby124: In the arguments the guy also revealed his true mind. He’s vindictive and childish. To win an argument there is no length he would not stoop to. He used her insecurities against her and even potentially trying to destroy her relationship with the sister with such spiteful talk.
When I was dating, the moment you drag my family and try to cause division then just know that relationship is over. Then you even attempt to say things I told you in confidence to hurt me! Chai! Na woman she carry as boyfriend. This one will tie wrapper and clap on her head when arguing in marriage! To betray one’s confidence is a big betrayal |
Family › Re: He insulted me by Esthered: 8:02pm On Sep 26, 2019 |
baby124: Trust me, that relationship is dead. The earlier she leaves the better because that guy will just waste her time. The mother will not let it manifest to a marriage. Even if the son was in the wrong. I laws look for little things like this to disqualify you. In marriage it’s a totally different thing. She can only advise they resolve it as she won’t want to be seen as a marriage wrecker. It will be very rare for a relationship to bounce back from this kind of drama. The mother witnessed it!!! Valid points you raised up there. It is well with them. |
Family › Re: He insulted me by Esthered: 7:55pm On Sep 26, 2019 |
baby124: Just leave the relationship and never let love make you discuss your own family business again! Not even with your husband except it concerns him. Na over love de worry you so your mouth is running like tap, telling all your family secrets! That relationship will not work because the mother will discourage him even though she appears to have forgiven you! Is this difference now irreconcilable, no room to start all over and make it better.... Is this advice applicable if they were married too? |
Family › Re: He insulted me by Esthered: 7:21pm On Sep 26, 2019 |
sisisioge: Assually, if she dares try this in my house, na there their relationship go end! Everybody get dadas that requires scattering from time to time o...but it is a taboo to scatter dada in front of elders like that. If the lice in your Dada could not be contained, then you as the host must learn to stop your lice activities once asked by an elder to stop!
It is a serious offence Future MIL, you have to show mercy sometimes Maami. You can scold her and correct her as your daughter. |
Family › Re: 36, With 295k Acct Bal About To Get Married And Have No Accommodation Yet. by Esthered: 4:21pm On Sep 26, 2019 |
Dear OP, you're a generous man and it's evident in how you try to empower your siblings. I think we have to define empowerment and entitlement in African families. Your brother seems to be entitled to your money upon being empowered by you. For those saying Ishilove is insensitive, I feel they've haven't made direct sacrifices for family. I sacrificed my career for my mum and only sibling for about 3 years and hence my slow start but this year, I followed my passion and damned the consequences because if I die, they'll find their way. When you continue to spoon feed an adult, he stops to reason critically on how to better his situation. While I'm awake thinking and strategizing, the said sibling is sleeping with peace of mind that at the mention of the word, he'll get the money. I'll eat the fruit of my labour, do exploits and make impacts. When he's gone, the said sibling will come and fight the wife for the remaining properties. The reason I detest Dependants Allowance under PITA. Accountants will understand. |
Family › Re: He insulted me by Esthered: 1:40pm On Sep 26, 2019 |
Dear OP, listen to the advice above. I think the both of you need to have a policy as regards conflict and resolutions. You seem to be opinionated and needed to express yourself to make a point but in the presence of your MIL, that shows you aren't emotionally intelligent. If you keep quiet and address issues in private and express your disdain, he'll take corrections and likewise you going forward. If you were my SIL to be, I'll be wary of you when he eventually marries you as you may do worse in public glare if you both don't work on yourselves now. |
Romance › Re: I Am Scared Of Eventually Not Getting A Life Partner. by Esthered: 7:27am On Sep 23, 2019 |
Every time people want to hook up, a church is mentioned and the reason why the ladies especially stop functioning in that unit when they get what they want I.e marriage. I think the purpose of joining a unit should be defined in the area of service than husband hunting. Dear OP, be more outgoing but with a purpose of meeting people, be open minded too. I'm an indoor person though and was almost worried like you, changed church so as to meet someone as my mum advised but I resolved never to join a unit in church so as to meet a man but till when I'm ready to serve in the field of my Maker. I met my fiance from way back through a phone call as we're in different locations. I pray God settles you in line with His will for your life. Have a great day dear. |
