Christianity EtcRe: Let's Be Honest, Who Has Ever Experienced A Miracle? by EvilBrain1(m): 11:41am On Oct 27, 2011
mabell:
For your information, some healings and miracles are not instantaneous, they take a gradual process
But it's in the place of the person involved to continuously hold on to his healing until he sees the complete manifestation
You're saying that it's my friend's fault that he died. Because he didn't hold on to his healing or he didn't have faith or something. That's what you're saying.
Christianity EtcRe: Let's Be Honest, Who Has Ever Experienced A Miracle? by EvilBrain1(m): 1:54am On Oct 27, 2011
mabell:
When a child receives a gift, he might not necessarily take care of it properly unless with the help of an elderly person
But if an adult is given a gift, it is his responsibility to care for and retain that gift
It's the same scenario here, when God heals a man, demons are cast out. But it is his responsibility of that man to keep that healing though he might need to be taught how
But if he doesn't do anything about it, the bible says

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

When the devil finds out you are doing nothing about your healing, he will reinforce and come back with more violent demons which in some cases, might lead to death
So you're saying that it's my friend's fault that he died of sickle cell disease? And all those people who are "miraculously healed" but continue experiencing symptoms and are still suffering and dying? Is it their fault too?

Imagine if I collected your money and gave you a brand new phone. And then when you tried to turn it on you discovered that it was actually a piece of wood. Would you accept it if I told you that it was because you didn't believe hard enough that the phone turned into wood? Because that is what you're suggesting in your last post.

It's funny that conmen are allowed to operate openly and freely as long as they add a little religion to their game. The only difference between guys like pastor Chris and the YemKem tradomedical fraudsters is the jheri-curl and the bible. In all other ways they are the same.

I haven't registered any of my lines and I have no intention of doing so. I'm still making and receiving call for now though.

If they eventually block them, I'll either pay someone to register for me or give false information and use superglue to hide my fingerprints. I'm not a criminal but I see no reason why I should give this useless, corrupt government my private info.
Christianity EtcRe: Let's Be Honest, Who Has Ever Experienced A Miracle? by EvilBrain1(m): 8:58pm On Oct 26, 2011
Will someone please explain to why it is that modern miracles are never verifiable by third parties? I can understand if I don't get healed because I don't believe, but what about my friend in secondary school who died of sickle cell disease a few years after being healed by Pastor Adeboye?

What about all my patients with terminal cancer who go to get healed in church but die a few weeks after? Is it that none of these people truly believed? Or is it that miracles only happen when no one is looking?

That's not how miracles were described in the bible. When Jesus healed someone, it was always clear to everybody what had happened. There was never any doubt, even among unbelievers.

If I could get even a little evidence that Pastor Chris and co. were actually healing people (instead of collecting their money and filling their heads with nonsense), I'd be happy to refer patients to them. The reason I don't is because the is no such evidence. Instead, I can build a pretty strong case that they are a bunch of disgusting fraudsters who prey on the weak and desperate.

BusinessRe: Failure To Remove Fuel Subsidy Will Lead To Economy Collapse – GEJ by EvilBrain1(m): 7:25pm On Oct 25, 2011
I'm actually in favour of removing the subsidy, I just don't want this government to do it. Over the last 2 years, GEJ has shown that he is completely incapable of controlling his spending and he cannot be trusted to manage our money responsibly.

I'm convinced that any money we save from removing subsidy will be wasted on some friviolous nonsense like expanding the government even more or bribing his way to victory in 2015. The money GEJ squandered in his first 8 months in office (with nothing to show) is far more than what he'll save by removing subsidy.

If GEJ needs money "for the poor" he should concentrate on cutting down his bloated government. Let a future president who knows what the hell he's doing remove the subsidy.

We have simply proven in stark terms, the fact that Buhari precided over the very first ever removal of subsidies way back in 1978.
He is just being a hypocrite now, because he is still in pain about the elections. Its best for us to all move on and leave bitterness of the past behind.
Your ad hominem attacks aren't helping the debate.

Watch OP's video or read the article mathskill quoted. If Buhari said anything there that you disagree with, let us know and explain your own position. We don't need to know about all the evil things Buhari did or didn't do 30 years ago. They may have been relevant back when he was running for president, but they certainly aren't now. Even if Buhari was the devil-incarnate, it wouldn't reduce the validity of his what he said.

GamingRe: The Battle Begins: Battlefield 3 Vs Modern Warfare 3 by EvilBrain1(m): 4:53pm On Oct 25, 2011
The last good Call of Duty was COD4 Modern Warfare. Everything since then has been a repeat of the same old formula. They haven't even bothered to update the engine.

Meanwhile the Battlefield series has been growing in leaps and bounds. The frostbite engine in BF Bad Company 2 was already far better than COD's with it's fully destructible environments and they've improved on it even further for BF3.

Plus the BF multiplayer is far better. It forces you to actually think, plan and cooperate with your teammates unlike COD that's all about speed and reflexes.

BF3 all the way.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Speaks On Fuel Subsidy Removal by EvilBrain1(m): 4:11pm On Oct 25, 2011
The pro-GEJ shills have done a fantastic job at derailing this thread. Buhari has raised a number of very important points about about the FG's credibility, where the fuel subsidy money really goes and corruption in general. But instead of talking about that, we're arguing about the man's record as if that has anything to do with the topic at hand.

If Jesus Christ himself came down from heaven and said anything critical about GEJ's government, Beaf and co will probably say something like "Don't mind that stûpid Jesus joo! Was it not him that was telling people not to pay taxes back in 32A.D?"
Christianity EtcRe: Let's Be Honest, Who Has Ever Experienced A Miracle? by EvilBrain1(m): 1:24pm On Oct 23, 2011
Back in medical school, I used to find it strange how much many of the professors (especially the surgeons) hated pastors. Some of them would abandon whatever topic they were meant to teach and spend hours cursing and abusing men of god. When i started seeing patients, I found out why.

My first patient was a 50 something year old woman with brèäst cancer. She told me that she knew early that the swelling was something bad and she immediately ran to church for prayers. The pastor there asked her to move into the church compound and kept her there for 8 months while the cancer spread throughout her body and became incurable.

By the time her family members ran out of money for "miracle offering" it had spread to her spine paralyzing her and there was a horrible foul-smelling sore on her chest. The same pastor then came back to kick her out of the church asking her to "go to LUTH". She died a few weeks later.

It turns out that the reason why cancer survivial rates are so abysmal in Nigeria is because of pastors and imams (plus YemKem tradomedical fraudsters) that convince patients to delay proper treatment while milking them out of their money.

And in all my years as a doctor, I have never seen a single patient with a terminal disease get healed by a pastor. Not one. And I've been looking.

Kilode?!:
This is a silly argument. There is a reason why human wisdom created the concept of government, organized society, laws and punishment. Edmund Burke put it best in one of my favorite quotes [see below]. it is silly to think individuals will act right and be unselfish in the absence of a properly organized society with well enforced rules and regulations.

Did you create a law to punish him for that? Are you enforcing it?

Do you have a tax code? Are you enforcing it?

Rules and it's enforcement is the job of government and leadership. Not the ordinary man on the street. That was why the wisdom of man created government.

Now this argument brings a kind chicken and egg situation: Which comes first? People or the government system? I'll say it's not important, they are both with us, let those with the power and responsibility -in this case government leaders, do their jobs.

The Taxi Driver that you fail to punish is not the problem. It's rational for him to cheat if there are no consequences. It's irrational for you to expect him not to.

This argument betrays an ideological weakness. Blame those with the power and responsibility to lead and ensure societal order.

It is arrogant and naive to think humans will not act selfishly.

If you drop Japanese people into this Nigerian System, in a short time, majority will act like that driver. Nigerians are not inherently greedier or more selfish than other humans. The system is poorly managed. Opari!

Government is a contrivance on human wisdom to provide for human wants, men have a right that these wants should be provided for by this wisdom -Edmund Burke

Friendship is not or should not be a cloak for hiding and or ignoring falsehood.

If I have a friend who steals or commits some hideous sin for example, I will point this out for his benefit. If I see a friend marching off to Hell and to avoid hurting his feelings I keep quiet , this is a crime.

To keep quite about false religion and false teaching for the sake of friendship or acquaintanceship is error and similar to sweeping the dirt under the carpet for the sake of peace.

This is a Lazy man's argument that we should all be friends and let God's laws be broken.

This is what the saviour Christ Jesus said about friendship and also what the other apostles though of it.

You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him

What are they sayinghuh Simple because U.K does not believe in God does not mean they should criticize Christianity. They should rather find something to do about the Muslims taking over u.k using churches for mosque. BBC reporters should rather investigate on that and not the result of the power God in people's life cos' they have little or no knowledge about it.

This news on BBC can be a strategy to confuse people (Christians) that there is no more miracle whereas God remains the healer. The fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary does not mean that there is no more miracles. He lives! The age of miracle has not pass the miracle worker is still alive and His name is Jesus Christ!

Also, I finally tried gnome shell and I serously don't like it. I'm not sure why exactly, but it just feels wrong. Maybe I need to experience it in a purpose-built distro. The only thing I like about it is the hot corners which I was already using in natty.

Wow, this Pascal's wager has really opened my eyes to the folly of atheism. From now on, I'm going to become a born-again Christian and serve Jehovah God so he doesn't throw me in hell.

But come to think of it, isn't it risky to stick to just one god? What if my parents were wrong and I'm betting on the wrong horse? I don't want to end up in hell! Just to be safe, I think I'll also start worshipping Allah, Shiva, Orunmila, Chukwu, Egbesu and all of the thousands of other gods. This might take a while.

But then many of these gods have rules against worshipping other gods. If the one true god turns out to be the jealous type (e.g. Yahweh or Allah), he/she is going to be pissed at me for praying to all the others. Not to forget that there are different variants of all these gods (which Yahweh should I worship, the jewish, catholic, pentecostal or jehovah's witness version?).

Gaddem, this stuff is far too much stress. I'm going back to being an athiest (I actually prefer the term rationalist)

PointB:
There is a huge difference between PDP and ACN

PDP has internal democratic ideals, while ACN's internal democracy is next to none existent.

In other words, PDP members choose their representatives in primaries, while Tinubu is the primary (and tertiary) in ACN.
Putting your life in the hand of man, is cool if he will churn out only the Fasholas of this world. But when you start seeing ex-cultist (Amosun) or clueless vagabonds (AregbeRascal), you will begin to realise the folly of herds mentality as being advocated by ACN.
Those "internal democratic ideals" you're talking about, are you referring to the presidential primaries, where GEJ was bribing delegates with public money (and Atiku as doing the same with stolen money)? Or do you mean the 2007 Lagos primary where Obanikoro "won" despite getting fewer votes than his rival? By "democratic ideals", do you mean hiring thugs, attacking opposing party rallies and assasinating rivals?

In the last election cycle, before the PDP got kicked out of the SW, the 3 Oyo state senators were Adedibu's son, Adedibu's son-in-law and Adedibu's god-son. Very democratic.

Good news guys. A new exploit has been discovered that allows the loading of backup games that require up to firmware version 3.73. It was initially found by a spanish hacking group a few weeks ago but they are yet to release a public version.

But the latest news is that some criminals in Indonesia are selling a dongle that does the same thing and has been confirmed to be working via youtube. It is the normal practice for guymen to try and make money off new exploits before the free, open source version is released.

Hopefully soon, either the spaniards will release a CFW or someone will reverse-engineer the dongle's payload. Either way, our new game drought should be over on a matter of weeks.

Anyway in the right context , peruse the excerpt from an article below :

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

While it is true that God created man from the dust of the ground, the phrase “handful of dust” is absent in the verse! It is conceived it the minds of these perverts. Be that as it may, the information in the Bible is scientific! Granting, without accepting, that there is such a thing as a ‘handful of dust’, whose hands will be the measuring hands for the dust that God will use in the formation of Adam? People who cremate the dead have an idea of how much dust will be left of the human body after cremation. I am sure it is not a sack of dust; but very close to a handful — depending on the hands that holds them. And why is it scientific? God made man from the dust; and when his body dies it decomposes and turns again to dust.

(Genesis 3:19) “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
We came from Dirt and Magic!

Of course, that makes perfect sense. I wonder why any sane person would doubt the bible version.

With the level of technological development over the years, I ask why has science not come up with an idea what we humans will eventually evolve to. Since they are so sure of this crapy evolutionary theory they should have also been ableto create a replica of the 'big slam' and show us how dust n water turned to something that turned to something that turned to fish,to amphibians,to reptiles,to birds, to mamals. They have failed to answer this question.

Again since 'they' evovled from apes why do we still have apes. Funny some evolved and others didnt. That makes no sense at all

Lol! I just watched your video. That guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Within the first 20 seconds he was already talking rubbish like "maybe that means white people have evolved further". I don't know why people who argue against evolution don't bother to learn what it actually says first. Actually I do, Its because strawman arguments are easier to win.

For the record, there is no such thing as "more evolved" or "less evolved". Humans aren't more evolved than chimpanzees. Each species has merely adapted to different circumstances in different ways.

For example, your average chimp would make a very poor farmer, school teacher or cab driver. On the other hand, most people wouldn't last a week in the dense African jungle where chimps thrive.

In the bush, you don't really need an upright gait all that much. Neither do you need a narrow pelvis built for long distance running over flat terrain; or such a big, well developed brain (the combination of the two makes your babies far more likely to get stuck and die in childbirth.) You don't really need to to be that smart.

In the bush, you need to be fast over short distances. You need to be physically strong, not slender and weak like humans are. You need to be an expert at climbing trees. And you need to be able to eat coarse, uncooked food. Chimpanzees survive better than humans in dense bush because that is what they are adapted to.

Now granted, people have been far more successful a species than the now endangered chimpanzees. But on the other hand, cockroaches have been more successful than humans. That doesn't make them better than us.

@EvilBrain

Have you read this books 'The Voyage of the Beagle'

This book was written by Darwin.  Now see below an excerpt from this book and tell me what you think .

"It is very curious thus to see in the midst of a civilized people, a set of harmless savages wandering about without knowing where they shall sleep at night, and gaining their livelihood by hunting in the woods. As the white man has travelled onwards, he has spread over the country belonging to several tribes. These, although thus enclosed by one common people, keep up their ancient distinctions, and sometimes go to war with each other. In an engagement which took place lately, the two parties most singularly chose the centre of the village of Bathurst for the field of battle. This was of service to the defeated side, for the runaway warriors took refuge in the barracks. "
I already addressed the bolded in my previous post. That's how everybody used to talk back then. Practically everybody who wasn't Caucasian was referred to as a savage. The kind of things academics, priests and politicians back then would say without raising a single eyebrow would be considered horribly racist by today's standards. Consider this quote from the great Abraham Lincoln, spoken the very year the Origin of the Species was published:

"While I was at the hotel today, an elderly gentleman called upon me to know whether I was really in favor of producing a perfect equality between the negroes and white people. [Great Laughter.] While I had not proposed to myself on this occasion to say much on that subject, yet as the question was asked me I thought I would occupy perhaps five minutes in saying something in regard to it. I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, [applause]-that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied every thing. I do not understand that because I do not want a negro woman for a slave I must necessarily want her for a wife. [Cheers and laughter.]"
- Abraham Lincoln; Fourth Debate with Stephen Douglas, September 18, 1858
Note that Lincoln was debating against an opponent who was far more racist than he. Now, compare that with what Charles Darwin wrote in his Descent of Man. Its a long read, but worth it.

"Although the existing races of man differ in many respects, as in colour, hair, shape of skull, proportions of the body, &c., yet if their whole structure be taken into consideration they are found to resemble each other closely in a multitude of points. Many of these are of so unimportant or of so singular a nature, that it is extremely improbable that they should have been independently acquired by aboriginally distinct species or races. The same remark holds good with equal or greater force with respect to the numerous points of mental similarity between the most distinct races of man. The American aborigines, Negroes and Europeans are as different from each other in mind as any three races that can be named; yet I was incessantly struck, whilst living with the Feugians on board the "Beagle," with the many little traits of character, shewing how similar their minds were to ours; and so it was with a full-blooded negro with whom I happened once to be intimate.

He who will read Mr. Tylor's and Sir J. Lubbock's interesting works can hardly fail to be deeply impressed with the close similarity between the men of all races in tastes, dispositions and habits. This is shown by the pleasure which they all take in dancing, rude music, acting, painting, tattoing, and otherwise decorating themselves; in their mutual comprehension of gesture-language, by the same expression in their features, and by the same inarticulate cries, when excited by the same emotions. This similarity, or rather identity, is striking, when contrasted with the different expressions and cries made by distinct species of monkeys. There is good evidence that the art of shooting with bows and arrows has not been handed down from any common progenitor of mankind, yet as Westropp and Nilsson have remarked, the stone arrow-heads, brought from the most distant parts of the world, and manufactured at the most remote periods, are almost identical; and this fact can only be accounted for by the various races having similar inventive or mental powers. The same observation has been made by archeologists with respect to certain widely-prevalent ornaments, such as zig-zags, &c.; and with respect to various simple beliefs and customs, such as the burying of the dead under megalithic structures. I remember observing in South America, that there, as in so many other parts of the world, men have generally chosen the summits of lofty hills, to throw up piles of stones, either as a record of some remarkable event, or for burying their dead.

Now when naturalists observe a close agreement in numerous small details of habits, tastes, and dispositions between two or more domestic races, or between nearly-allied natural forms, they use this fact as an argument that they are descended from a common progenitor who was thus endowed; and consequently that all should be classed under the same species. The same argument may be applied with much force to the races of man.

As it is improbable that the numerous and unimportant points of resemblance between the several races of man in bodily structure and mental faculties (I do not here refer to similar customs) should all have been independently acquired, they must have been inherited from progenitors who had these same characters."
- The Descent of Man; Charles Darwin; 1871
Darwin argued that the differences within races were more than the differences between them. He observed that all races had similar habits, tastes, dispositions and "mental and inventive powers". The average Nairalander in the political section will hardly say the same thing about his fellow Nigerians from other tribes. The funniest thing is that the racists Darwin was opposing were using almost the exact same creationist arguments as frosbel and co to explain why "negros" were inferior and needed to be stopped from interbreeding with whites.

Stop pouring dirt on the man's name.

Edit: Darwin hardly mentioned people in the Origin of the Species, but he covered the topics of race and human evolution extensively in his book The Descent of Man. Here's a link to a PDF if you'd like to see for yourself.
