Kinematics:
Of you carry out a proper census now it will even be in the top 10 currently. Everything must not be Lagos, population must not be the yardstick.
How are you so sure? I can assume anything but it doesn't make it true.

You are missing the greater point here. We are too reliant on fossil fuels to power the national grid. Poor gas supplies and high prices are one of the reasons why there are persistent blackouts. As more people move into an area the greater the electricity burden they bring. If a reliable and renewable alternative can be implemented in one area with less people then it can be reproduced in other areas with more people or distributed to states that do not have access to the sea. This isn't about Lagos it is about moving forward from the persistent stagnation by trying new things.

Kinematics:
Relatively small? So almost 4 million as at the last census is relatively small? The 15th most populous state in Nigeria as at 2006 census is relatively small?
Wonders shall never end.
Which is why I used the word relatively in relation to other states. So the idea can be tried there before implementing in more highly populated areas like Lagos or distributed inland..

Also are you really going to use a 14 year old census to nitpick my comment?

ChaoHendrix:
Akwa Ibom is the most underrated state in Nigeria..
Though its' government is bedeviled by corrupt practices just like every other state in Nigeria, they've had the best and most sensitive government..
When it comes to good roods,no state can compare with Akwa Ibom and every street,I mean every street gets swept every morning..
The only problem is electricity..
While some areas have steady power supply, some hardly see light...
All in all, I love my State..
If you can maybe write to your state representative about building a hydroelectric plant in the state. It has huge potential to ease the electricity burden and redirect petroleum products for export. The relatively small population of Akwa Ibom would make a good testing ground for alternative power sources.

Thank you very much, mods please move this to the front page.

The unnecessary conflict and abuses from soldiers to civilians needs to stop.

It is better for the military to bring this situation under control before people start taking matters into their own hands.

Romance › Re: When A Girl Plays Hard To Get, What Should A Guy Do? by Farki:
Read the art of seduction before I dated one of my past girlfriends the girl was acting very stubborn, that book fixed the issue.

A quick summary is that you should change your thinking and make yourself the prize.

Improve your looks, your health, your style and keep contact with the girl but don't supplicate her or even make everything about her.

Keep other attractive women around you either as friends or as casual dating. Eventually the object of your desire will notice and try to loosen her guard to know what you're all about. I noticed that women are more open to talking with me if I'm with another woman already.

If that doesn't work and she still isn't interested you would have gotten other options which could be better matches that the girl you were chasing.

A soldier killed a civilian

Civilians lynch am , thief him rifle join.

For that soldier to kill that civilian, the civilian must have trespassed, threatened or attempted to disarm the soldier. It takes a while lot of confrontation for soldiers to pull the trigger at Innocent people. It's usually followed by a series of warning.

Now that the rifle is missing, you think say he no go go back base go recruit and come and search for gun wey government give am. I won't pity this warri people at all if I read in the news tomorrow that 30 of them were slaughtered. The Southerners generally like to show stronghead and do gra gra wey their head no fit carry. ivolt:
Yes, it is still fake.
Though this source managed to temper the sensationalism of the first link,
it still fails basic journalistic integrity.
Where and who was involved in the "protest"?

A protest has a specific meaning.
An organized actions against a policy or person.

All this video shows is that some people refuse to stay indoors as told.

They were already outside before the task force run into them.
It was never a protest.

There are some streets where boys are playing football, there are even some drivers
who converge in motor parks to play ludo. Are they also protesting hunger?

Yes. The Chinese understand this better. Other authoritarian regimes are also scared of not
the ordinary citizens but the powerful opposition elites. No matter how well fed a populace is
they can be convinced that they have it worse and deserve better either based on the ethnic, religious
or social difference which will always exist.

It is very very easy to deceive an average person into their doom and that is why they are
stringent measures against free media in some countries.
A protest is a public demonstration of disapproval where is the requirement that it must be organised? huh

They are in public and expressing their disapproval, civil disobedience is a form of protest.

Concerning the second point I would just drop it, I stand by my point that dissatisfied populations lead to rebellions which don't always have to be formed by elite opposition and it seems we just can't agree.

Imagine if Chad had the kind of resources we had coupled with their battle hardened soldiers they would decimated bono haram a long time ago. These terrorists show no mercy and therefore deserve none. So over 60 nigerian troops were ambushed and no broadcast from Aso rock eulogising the sacrifice made by these brave soldiers, hence u begin to understand why d average nigerian is not patriotic and doesn't consider nigeria worth dying for. Kudos to the Chadian troops . Hit them harder that way they would know what await them whenever they attack your troops. That's one thing i love about the Israelis, their response is always a 1,000 times heavier whenever they retaliate.
That's because they don't care about the fight, to them this counts as acceptable losses. I tell you the Nigerian Military is seriously messed up just another tool for the affluent.

Fake news is easy to spot.
No place, no name and use of fake pictures.
Worst of all, it happens after the government allows free movement between 10 am and 2 pm.
These are all good points to consider but it's not an authoritative statement on the current situation. All you have are claims that it is fake.

I did my own research and found this article with an accompanying video on this event.

Is this fake as well?

You and Caesar are wrong going by the manner of his death.

Even the French Royal family's story tells us that the well-fed man is to be feared
the most because they are power-hungry and possess the resources to topple the government.
They organized, preached and sponsored the revolution.
The "people" were just a tool for their power grab.

When the dust settled, it was obvious who was in charge.
Tell me without the broader context of food shortages and heavy taxation would the French citizens have revolted?

Do you think the well fed and wealthy French citizens would have stormed the Bastille a heavily fortified prison for weapons knowing it was a death sentence for failure?

Many of the instigators of the revolution like were eventually killed along with the royalists they fought despite their resources by the same hungry citizens looking for blood.

He was brutally murdered by the well-fed.
Do you have news to the contrary?

It's like you missed the point of what Ceaser is try to say, when you leave the citizens with nothing they will violently revolt because they have nothing left to lose. If you don't believe me just look at what happened to the French and Russian royal families.

What a callous statement. I have seen with my very eyes people, children, dying of hunger. It's not like there is no food they are simply too poor to sustain themselves. Some people have already eaten the small food they had left over, with markets and business closed and transportation limited people are getting desperate.

It is not these well-fed long-haired men that I fear, but the pale and the hungry-looking.

Last last when shit goes down they shouldn't be looking for support from 'bloody civilians'.
