Family › Re: Parents With Sickle Cell Kids How Do You Cope? by femi4: 8:28am On Dec 02, 2023
Yemike:
I need people with experience on how to manage SS Crisis.
Both my parent are AS and we the kids are 5. I'm the first child and I'm lucky to be AA, the 2nd born AS, 3rd, 4th, 5th - SS.
I have 3 SS siblings and right now most of their responsibility and wellbeing is on me as the first born cuz my P-man is old already.
Just last week I have to rush down to my brother's school to bring him home cuz he called me in the middle of the night weeping cuz the pain is just too much and his roommate isn't around.
My question now is how can it be managed? cuz it's really affecting everybody cuz It's affecting their studies, I'm exhausted right now cuz anytime it happens it's ends with me borrowing funds to send to them and lastly it's sucks happiness out of the atmosphere as hearing a teenager weeping and knowing you can't do anything about it is saddening.

I've seen some people asking if they as AS can also marry AS please and please don't try it as you'll just be bringing innocent kids here just to suffer. The trauma of you seeing your kids in pain sef no be here.

How can SS Crisis be avoided/managed?

I'd have loved my write up to be well detailed but the little I wrote up there took up to an hour cuz my phone is bad.

You experience and advice will be well appreciated. Thanks.
But why your parents continue to bring kids to suffer in this world is what I don't understand

No 3, 4, 5- SS

Another post demonising single mothers undecided. Just look at that nonsense man shouting “100% true” repeatedly!! Mtcheww!

Biko, Let her speak for the single mothers in America undecided

Most single mothers here in Africa, Nigeria to be precise are doing great job raising their child(ren).

Let’s understand there are many situations that make one a single mother, situations like.. widow, irresponsible father, rape, deceptive boyfriend etc undecided

The question we should be asking ourselves is Who is the better parent?? Is it the woman that actually stepped up and took responsibility OR the foolish, deceptive and good for nothing man who abandoned his child and his responsibility??
That's just the simple truth

I got two jobs, and I don't know which to go for.

Job 1 is a Porter position in a hotel. Salary - 40k

Job 2 is a Customer Service position in MTN. Although, the employment is not from MTN directly. It's from a company MTN outsource the job to. Salary is 35k, with a 5k increment every 3months.

Which should I choose, and please give reason. Thanks
The first one. You are dealing directly with your employer.

Outsourcing jobs ain't reliable, you can't negotiate with the middle man

Ifemelu80:
Hi,

My ex called me yesterday, out of the blue, after 14 years of radio silence.
He was my first love and I thought we were in a relationship for 3 years only to find out I was just his side piece to the side piece.
He broke up with me by blocking me on his phone and social media and that was it.

A mutual friend reached out to me about 2 weeks ago. We had also lost contact for years. We talked about everything but him.
So I was very surprised to get a call from him. He said the mutual friend told him about our reconnection so he also wanted to get in touch. We chatted for 10-15 mn, he asked me about my life and told me to save his contact.

Now, I'm wondering, why would a man call an ex girl friend he didn't really care about, after more than 10 years ? We were never close friends and don't have any common interests, personal or professional circle anymore, so what's the point huh

Good day nairalanders

I have heard and seen some people who say that on their first date they had sex with the person they are having that date with, and to me it looks weird,it's simply put 'absurd'

Well I don't know what you may think about this but I believe that it is makes you look cheap, makes you look as a person who has no moral boundaries, it reduces your worth before that fellow and generally makes you look s*upid before the fellow even if they won't tell you.

I think it's quite odd and nothing pleasant that you are meeting someone for the first time and what comes to your mind is going to bed with such a person, it ain't funny and it's something that should be discouraged.

That's my humble opinion
What do you think

Balderdash!
What reduce your worth is sleeping with the person that isn't your husband.

There is no difference between sex on first date or tenth day......Its still fornication

This time last year, I didn’t know I’d be married this year. A lot has happened in one year, met my wife in a strange manner, loved her and finally got married to her.

I will like to keep my anonymity so unfortunately no pictures here. But I can give you a good description, she’s the last child and only daughter, so you know how she must have been pampered. Her mum was so emotional and she had tears roll down her cheek on the D-day, it was lovely though to see such wonderful connection.

My wife is tall, ebony and in her early twenties. White sparkling teeth, bright eyes, always smiling. She’s the perfect gift to me. The wedding was simple yet beautiful. I am so fortunate to have her in my life.

And the best gift came after. Let me whisper it (I met her at home, tear rubber) cheesy
Dmw did more than this. Tear rubber will tear your life apart if that's what you chose over good character

I don't know whether what I saw this morning falls under sex harrasment, but here is mine.

We got down from a public vehicle (me and my sister) and then tried to cross the road only for one grown up to hit my sister butt and claim it was an accident.

My sister overlooked it and the we crossed the road. As we were going up a bridge, we decided to stop and buy something only for the same man to do it again. He still said it was a mistake and walked away. The road is a big one ooo, and no car was passing by but the man decided to walk on the corner where no reasonable person will pass so that he would accomplish his mission.

My sister and I were really pissed off, even the traders attending to us were insulting him but he couldn't care less.

I couldn't do anything because my sister told me not to as per he his an old useless man. If not ehnn...

Next time, you will slap him by mistake too

Please give me gift ideas.

I have a budget of 200k for each of them. This includes 100k each for their clothes and shoes for Christmas and New year.

And another 100k to buy them gifts they will like. They all have ulesson tablets so tablets are not options.

They are 7, 4 and 3.
That's where their mother comes in. Ask their mother, don't ask us. She is closer to them than you or any nairalander
