I noticed it when I bought Ticket for my wife's Lagos to Toronto It was 46% cheaper if she had taken the flight from Banjul, Gambia than from Lagos. She wanted to go through Gambia as she wanted to participate in an international event in Gambia before the event was cancelled. We had to book the expensive Lagos - Dublin - Toronto. |
Letusconnect:You can send if you want. But I am telling you a first hand experience. The visa was issued in May 2023. The main form there is the "application form for study made outside Canada". All the questions from the temporary visa application form is still in the study visa application form. |
Predator188:Yes! |
Predator188:The form is optional. If you have completed the study visa application form, it covers form 5257 as you will be issued a visa if your study visa application is approved even if you didn't include form 5257 in your application package. |
That he is called to serve does not mean anything. He may have criticized Tinubu in the past but if he is given an opportunity to "serve", why is he being attacked by people? Do we want unqualified people to be appointed? The guy is sound.... so, he is free to "contribute'' his quota. |
I hardly use elevator in any government owned or public buildings in Nigeria. |
Mindlog:What a story! My respect to her. May the good Lord continue to enrich her in His vineyard. Making that solemn vow is not an easy thing o. |
Mindlog:You just summarised the dedication and commitment some of our parents showed in the 80's and early 90's about their children. I did my own FGC common entrance in 1990 and was admitted to FGC Maiduguri because I didn't meet the Anambra State cut off for both Kings College, Lagos and FGC Enugu, which were my first and second choice, respectively. My Dad was moving up and down from Anambra to Borno state for change of school for me and to get letter of release from FGC Maiduguri. Luckily, I later sat and passed the entrance exam of one of the most prestigious Catholic school in Nigeria. That was how I skipped FGC Maiduguri and went to Catholic school. |
I have not seen the prayers Atiku is seeking from this tribunal He did not score the highest number of votes: he did not get up to two-thirds of all the States He did not get the mandatory 25% of FCT I dont know the ground he is seeking to be declared the winner Someone should help me.. |
007kjb:I will rather use Asaba than to use the Anambra airport to come to Anambra. Asaba is just two minutes drive to Onitsha compared to the Anambra airport. Most importantly, I fear the airport road leading to the Anambra airport. Pray not to be stranded there at night. Don't know why Obiano had to take the airport to that remote area known for violent crimes and community clashes. |
xxolisexx:Just imagine what is going on in the minds of the UK Crown Court Judge that jailed Ibori after seeing this picture?? Imagine the perception of the UK justice secretary about Nigeria when he sees the newly elected President, receiving the former convict in the presidential villa. Our moral standard is terribly low in this country. |
Now that he is a VERY good friend to the President, a VERY good one for that matter, he would report Ribadu to Tinubu and ask that his $15m be refunded to him. Trust me, Tinubu would gladly oblige that request. |
Nigerian government and this their father Christmas posturing. This has been the hallmark of successive governments, trying to outwit one another to be seen as the father Christmas of Africa. I am sure South Africa, Egypt, Morroco and Tunisia never pay their 2020 dues finish |
Transportation will take close to 40% of it in the absence of staff bus, followed by house rent. 90% of lagosians lives far from their places of work. It would be a herculean task to save. I was lucky during my own time. I started with this N150k salary when I joined an investment bank in 2004 just after my NYSC. I had the luxury of going and coming to work by staff bus and stayed with a relative for close to six years - so, no rent payment. I even felt that the N150k salary was much then as I practically wasn't spending anything except to buy my tokunbo Zara suites and shoes. My host was also doing well and didn't need any contribution from me. However, I did brought home, the yearly one bag of rice, Jerricans of ground oils, cartoons of tomatoes and frozen Turkey shared by my company every Christmas to staff. To manage your salary, divide your costs into fixed and variable costs. See how you could manage the variable costs and how to negotiate better, the fixed costs. Good luck! |
slawomir:I don't like tribalism but you made so much sense. It's true. It's easier for the big three to unite against a minority president than for the country to unite against a president from any of the big three. So unfortunate. That's the tragedy of Nigeria. |
The legendary EMI studios, Lagos. Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe of blessed memory recorded most of his albums with EMI. My father told me about the memorable experience he had with the EMI director then at the People's Club hall, Owerri road, Onitsha in the 70s when Osadebe came with EMI to perform for the music lovers in Onitsha. |
As usual with top estates in Anambra, no good road network. You will see houses and mansions in an estate with dilapidated mud road network. The estate members hardly cooperate unlike in Lagos where landlords cooperate to build estate roads. In Anambra, every body in the estate, especially the rich will be forming " I don't care" attitude. I haven't seen any estate in Anambra with well tared or paved roads. |
OVB123:What has Ibadan got to do with the post? I hate your kind of people on Nairaland, always thinking that everything is about unhealthy competition, envy, tribalism and insults |
Afe Babalola, 60 years! Did I hear this correctly? I thought this man should be up to 80 years. This 60 years can't be correct. |
The perpetrators are from his inner circle. Leave the Alfa story; it is a distraction. He is an Engineer and must be into real estate, land and building. Lots of people have lost their lives on top land and property struggles, and not honouring agreement. Real estate business in Nigeria is becoming too dangerous because of presence of conmen and swindlers. |
Gadafii:This is what annoys me about the Nigerian army and other paramilitary forces. They don't kit like other armed forces that I see and watch in other countries, including African countries. Is it that we can't acquire these top gear wears for our security personnel, at least for them to look gorgeous or what? |
This is a good policy if well implemented. Some people in the informal sector with turnover running into millions pays next to nothing in taxes while a young Man earning peanuts in the formal sector consistently pays taxes. It is also good as VAT is an indirect taxation and the burden is on the final consumer. Nigerians should start paying their fair share of taxes to see if we could improve our collective situation the same way Oyibo people have done. However, government has to be sincere and shun corruption and corrupt tendencies, especially in official quarters. |
shanny001:I am sure you are trying to apply for diploma in practical nursing. The equivalent is your Nigerian SSCE in Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry or Physics at a minimum of credit level. However, having credits in those subjects is not a guarantee for you to get the admission. Practical nursing is very competitive! Good luck |
Ogene001:Very apt! For these people, development means nothing to them. The quality of human beings inhabiting the space in this country is terribly low. |
The policy may sound good. We should desist from praising things we do not know how it would impact the economy. The summary is that businesses would have to spend more to import - what is the implication of this? of course, high cost and things would become more expensive. Government have been subsidizing foreign exchange for importers to make their goods cheaper because Nigeria is a poor country. Nigerian students studying abroad would have to pay more as the cost of FX becomes even higher. FX is going to be expensive. |
Tinubu and his administration would be closer to Jonathan than Buhari. They will relate more with GEJ than PMB. They have seen the kind of character the man is - the monumental corruption that would be exposed under Buhari would be mind-boggling. Tinubu should not spare the key actors in that administration. Jonathan was the only head of state during Tinubu's inauguration, which shows that Jonathan holds no beef with any one. Trust me, Buhari will not be attending National Council of State meetings or attend Tinubu's second term inauguration in 2027. Tinubu will mess him up with exposure - Emefiele will tell it all. Emiefele will be the Dasuki of Buhari's administration. |
HBD to you sir. You were a marvel to watch when we were growing up as kids in the 80s. You brought families to sit down together in their living rooms and watch your comedy. 8:30pm-9:00pm was always looked upon after our heavy night meals of eba and soup. ![]() My dad used to be your biggest fan, always trying to mimic you. God bless ""Eddie Qansa"", the composer of the music used as sound track to commence your program on television. The guitar intro of that music is out of this world. |
I feel like beating a hell out of this guy - mumu man - typical of some Nigerian youths. But see the force and anger wey oyibo take arrest the guy ![]() This one na straight to ten years in prison and deportation to Nigeria after that. |
Zihno:There are schools that are not members of Ivy league but they have surpassed some ivy league schools and are highly rated. Stanford and MIT are not members of ivy league but they are highly ranked than some ivy league schools. Between Stanford and Dartmouth College, which one will you take, even though Dartmouth College belongs to Ivy League clique? Certainly, Stanford! |
I am beginning to see Nigerian citizens as the worst and most wicked. See how people are attacking her based purely on political divide. Some people attacking her cannot even agree to pay N1000 tax assessment. When properly computed, sometimes, taxes paid are not directly related to income earned. She is a celebrity and most of them always present an aura of affluence and wealth, which may not be real. Those shouting she should pay should asked themselves how much they have paid on their own earnings. Hatred and political divide have made the citizens not to be objective in their thinking. |
Nnewi is the most disorganized, chaotic and polluted town I have ever seen. Yet, billions of naira are exchanged in deals and markets in that place monthly. The town with the highest concentration of self-made billionaires. The city is simply too archaic |
